Just did this for GTASC. Works fine. I started a game in Adventure mode. Once the balls started moving at a consistent speed, I pressed Start to pause the game. The achievement popped while I was away, mid-game.

I can confirm it still works, playing on an Xbox one.
Made sure there where no automatic shutdowns and turned off the "show me things when idle".

January 2022 : I confirm this is still working.

So this must be done in a single run? 24 hours without turning off the console?

Can you doing this in rest mode? I mean quick resume on the xbox series X/S

NessNoldo, this counts your total play time of the game. You don't need to leave your console on Zuma for 24 hours.

so the console needs to be on for the full 24hrs to work?

Questions:
1. Do you have to make sure it doesn't turn off Midgame, like if your console powers down on it's own?
2. Does anyone know if it makes a different what you're playing on? 360/Xb1, like could the reason JJ DANG3R had problems be that he was playing on the Xbox One..?
Sorry if these are stupid questions, figured it couldn't hurt to ask especially since this jolly big guy with a huge white beard & a funny red hat told me that quite a few might try to unlock this during the next month or so 😅🎅

Thanks for answer OffenderBE ... I simply decided to not take any chances & did it on my 360 & can most definitely confirm that it pops while being idle because mine popped Thursday, the 6th of December at 12:33 pm at which time I was enjoying lunch at work where I had been for almost 3hrs 😆
I did take Frizbog's advice about making sure the balls were at a consistent speed before pausing, though I went a step further & played the 1st ball until death & then took 7 (lucky number) shots with the 2nd ball before pausing, overkill I know but hey better safe than sorry with Time Consuming achievements... Anywhooo
