For this achievement you must -
- Complete Prologue and exit the bandit ambush site into Otradnoye.
- Visit Katya in the bar and complete her quest by speech check or delivering toadstools.
- Meet with Kovalev in a building SE. He will give you a quest to find the Bandit informant.
- You can ask around or go straight to the Rat (aka Grishka the gambler) in the Building NW next to water tower.
- Ask about bandits, say you want to join them, Do the speech check for extra rewards and let him go.
- Leave Otradnoye via the N exit, then head south to Abandoned Factory. Tell the guard you know Grishka then report to Dan the bandit boss. This is when it popped for me. Hooray 0g.
Notes - Make a save by Grishka if you'd rather off him for Kovalev.
