How to unlock the Act 5 Ace achievement in Back 4 Blood - Definitive Guide
I hadn't played the game since the last DLC, so i started on recruit solo and worked my way up to familiarise myself with the levels and noticed that the Bots were doing some serious work. I Did Nightmare on my first attempt without a single incap. So decided to give No Hope a try.
Character: Sharice
Deck:
Meth Head
Cross Trainers
Slugger
Brazen
Spiky Bits
Berserker
Battle Lust
Mean Drunk
Ignore The Pain
Adrenaline Fueled
Scar Tissue
Face Your Fears
Down In Front
Fresh Bandage
Vanguard
Weapons:
870 Express & Claws. Upgrade to higher rarity where possible and don't worry about losing good attachments it's better to get the next tier weapon and rebuild the attachments as your progress.
Burn Cards:
I used hazard suit when there were both Explosive and acid ridden just to help mitigate the damage and you need to swap out the fire axe for a slashing weapon such as Claws, Manchette or the Bat to avoid the heads of the exploders.
I also used the slippery when wet card if there were multiple mutations which could trap myself and the bots so we could free ourselves.
Shop:
Always buy a Toolkit and Flash Bangs from the shop each level to open the stash room and for dealing with breakers, Hags and Ogres.
I didn't worry to much about about the slot upgrades you want to be able to hold two offensive items and i guess its nice if your heals have a little more bang for their buck but you will be getting the majority of your heath and kills from Melee so they felt redundant to me.
Tactics:
Explore every inch of the maps. You're looking to buy as many additional cards as possible. As your playing solo you get all the copper to yourself which may be scares in the first two levels but it soon ramps up to the point you can buy almost every card you find. ( Just be careful to read the cards before you buy them as you don't want to get something that will negatively effect your deck such as some of the new cards which disable your ability to carry certain inventory items.)
Make sure to prioritise killing Tall Boys from a distance as they will do serious damage to the bots. take some shots, create some distance start shooting again. Repeat until its dead. The same goes for the new Slashers they will add stacks of bleed to you and the bots which will cause very high damage over time and kill you within a few seconds.
You don't need a long distance gun to kill the snipers they were dying in one or two shots with this hip fire shotgun from across the map.
Make sure you're crouched when attacking as to not damage the bots.
If you spam ping the health stations the bots will use them to heal themselves.
Listen out for the new bear traps they will cause a fair amount of trauma damage if you're not careful. Both these and the new trip wires can be easily shot from a distance to disable them.
Pay attention to the Horde timer. You don't want to get caught out in the open surrounded by ridden even with this melee build it's better to find a corner or doorway that you can hold down to prevent getting surrounded.
EDIT: Use Hives where possible. I didn’t personally use any Hives on my play through however after playing a lot more I’ve realised that more often than not you will find hives towards the end of the levels allowing you skip many difficult sections of the levels.
Final and probably the most important tip:
If your character dies just quit the level as apposed to taking over a bot. As long as all four characters are not dead this will preserve your continue and allow you to restart from that level instead of having to start the whole act over again.
Hope this helps people. If you want me to add or change anything just drop a comment and I'll update the guide.

I leave a very simple guide 😊
This goal is difficult but with a simple trick, life will be easier.
As stated in the guide written above, bots are stronger than 90% of real players.
the trick I discovered is the following:
start a single player game with no hope mode.
build a deck that includes many speed cards and find medicines on the map more frequently.
play the level running to the stability points and just worry about running, the bots will kill zombie orbs left behind.
the real trick is to close the application only if you are in difficulty, that is when you are left with two players or you alone with little life.
Get bandages and bomb tubes with a tool kit that will be used for level 3 of the prison.
in the prison level save the prisoners and go to where the ogre is.
as soon as I get off the grate look for the nest on the left and sling.
the nests are much softer than the full level and are easy if you arm yourself with bomb pipes and run.
the same procedure must be done in the 5th level after passing the snipers on the bridge wait for the spawn of the nest and go up to the 6th level where you will load yourself with the first aid kit at the beginning of the level.
armed with bandages and smoke bomb or tube bombs based on the cash left. stand in points covered by the 3 Sides so that the bots shoot the zombies and reveal the location of the bots to be saved.
then place one explosive at a time from the farthest to the closest and after each trigger put yourself inside a cage with the brass knuckles in my case and from the grates you will kill the zombies.
the rest will be done by bots.
then run wildly to the truck and pop up.

Just wanted to include my experience in getting this achievement, because I didn't find it all that bad.I used @Was I That Bad's loadout, but adapted it to use with Expired T5 and Crippling Frequency.
BERSERKER
METH HEAD
BRAZEN
SLUGGER
CRIPPLING FREQUENCY
EXPIRED T5
PYRO
BATTLE LUST
MEAN DRUNK
IGNORE THE PAIN
ADRENALINE FUELED
SCAR TISSUE
FACE YOUR FEARS
DOWN IN FRONT!
VANGUARD
I played solo, and I played a patience game. Stopped if a horde was coming, and just timed that with a good enough stack of crippling frequency (maybe 3-5). Throughout the horde/boss you will get to 8-10. Use T5 when the time is right, and you should make it fairly easy on yourself.
I played Sharice, her armour buff kept me alive for Tallboys/Breakers.
I ran past the Ogre on A5C3, right to the arena.
I saved my money for Intel I found in the playthrough. I was lucky to have Heng with me. I grabbed any 500 copper card I could if I thought it would help me a tiny bit.
I exited games and restarted if I thought it was going poorly. After 10 or so tries on a level, I would just restart the whole act to get new corruption cards.
Take hives as often as possible. I used 2 and then just used the earliest exit I could find.
I did try with a larger group, and it seemed way more difficult than solo.
You need good luck, patience, and some memorization skills. You’ll get this.

Yeah the bots do some serious work. Sometimes they will out perform people and its always nice to be able to get their cash and infinite ammo.

Game version 1.10. You can go solo with bots. Bots shoot well, heal well, always share ammo, and there is no friendliness from them. The only negative is their chaotic and disorderly movement in front of the sight. To avoid accidentally killing bots, be sure to add the “Duck!” card to your deck. (discipline): while sitting, you do not receive or deal damage from friendly fire. + 10 units health. The rest of the cards are for damage and medicine. An example of a deck of cards for passing with bots.
Be sure to enter all additional levels from the Tunnels of Terror DLC in order to find good weapons and modules from white boxes. It is not recommended to collect totems and immediately go to the surface when an exit is discovered.
The best cut card is "Protective Lining" (protection): each of the sweepers gets +20% to injury resistance.
In case of an unsuccessful situation at a level, the game can always be closed using the PS button. A cut card will burn irrevocably, so you need to have a “Protective Lining” card with a reserve of 10-15 units.

Played on game version 1.14 (the last patch at the end of support for the game).
I highly recommend going through the NO HOPE act solo . Pros:
I played on builds that focused mainly on melee combat . But they perform just as well as riflemen. Here are examples:
The builds contain cards that help you fight vigorously both against hordes of possessed people and against mutants.
I'll note some good cards: Knowledge is power (shows the amount of health of all mutants, and increases damage to weak points), Killer Instinct (also increases damage to weak points, but can be changed to Head Magnifier or Rip), Head Magnifying Glass (helps perform all actions much faster, an important and useful card when playing solo), Well-rested (a card that gives more healing from support items and healing cards). Instead of "Well Rested" you can take the First Aid Bag .
Your primary weapon is a melee weapon. (I recommend: bat, machete, claws. Fireman's ax is very effective against mutants, but bad against possessed with an explosive head. Best modifier: resonant metals in the first slot).
I use shotguns (870 Express) as small arms. Some cards in decks disable your ADS (L2 Aim).
The shotgun compensates for the lack of ADS and helps take out snipers . Mandatory modification: stocks and other modifiers that increase accuracy .
Of the minuses, I note that the build is not particularly effective against ogres. Although it was possible to kill, it was with some difficulty.
We will definitely take Sharice or Holly as characters. Sharis has resistance to injury and can also find armor that can withstand attacks from mutants. Holly has a heal for killing possessed people.
* When going through acts, I highly recommend going into the breeding grounds of the possessed . They help you complete Act stages early , bypassing the difficult final moments in each of the levels (except for the final Act level).
* Never buy team efficiency upgrades (gear), it only makes sense to buy one extra slot for efficiency items. All other upgrades for attack and support items must be purchased.
*Remember that the game generates various interference maps . They can all be completely different at all levels. If problems arise at one of the levels due to some specific cards, then it is better to start over.
* Mandatory cut cards: Protective lining (for resistance to injury), Hell will wait for an extra try if you fail. However, if there are not enough “Hell Can Wait” cards, it may help (at your own risk) to roll back the save via a flash drive or close the game until all the characters in the level die.
I highly recommend going through the NO HOPE act solo . Pros:
- Bots. Accurate, capable of healing, share ammo, no friendly fire from them (however, they are capable of blunting);
- More lives (or “pluses” above the health scale). When in an open session, the number of these benefits drops depending on the number of players in the session;
- More money . You yourself have the right to dispose of the coppers that are issued to the team;
- Simplification of key tasks at some levels. As you progress, you will be faced with various tasks (Collect parts for the ship, etc. in subsequent stages of the act). Carrying out key steps is simplified because bots do not interact with any objects;
- Mutants and Possessed become less dangerous when playing solo, to some extent. (However, this did not become clear to me until the end.)
I played on builds that focused mainly on melee combat . But they perform just as well as riflemen. Here are examples:
- First build
- Second build
- Third build (took place on a friend’s account, performed quite well)

I recommend using the Glass Cannon card, which significantly reduces your health but also increases damage. Then you won't need the cut card Protective Pad , but the Group Hug will come in handy.
