How to unlock the Critical Hit achievement in Baldur's Gate 3 - Definitive Guide

Having completed the game using tactics, I’ll give you a couple of small recommendations to make your life easier at the beginning.
In the middle of the game and beyond it will be quite easy

On the nautiloid, get the sword Eternal Flame from commander Zhalk (the easiest way is to use Shadowheart to force him to drop his weapon). You will run with him until the 3rd act
In the party, keep two melee soldiers with two-handed weapons (classes: Warrior 2 lvl + Barbarian 10 lvl, and Warrior 12 lvl, you can also take Warrior 2 lvl + Paladin 10 lvl) with the trait Master of Two-Handed Weapons. There are a lot of clothes in the game. I won’t highlight specific ones, just remember - the most important items for killing always fall from bosses, are obtained through quests and bought in stores. There is no need to look for them in every barrel. The third damage-dealing character looks great: Rogue/Thief lvl 4 + Warrior lvl 8 with two one-handed crossbows. In most fights you will be able to deal so much damage that half the enemies won't wait to take their turn. In the third act, such a party can kill Ansur in 1 move.

To shop with “100% cashback”, you should take Astarion. At the very beginning, goblins will attack the grove. from one of them we take gloves for sleight of hand +1. Also on the way to Karlach we pick up the smuggler’s ring (sleight of hand +2)
We bite someone with Astarion (once we find out that he is a vampire, the bite skill will appear) - we get +1 to everything
We also buff the cat with grace (spell - Strengthening characteristics), thus, when stealing, we will roll two dice, not one. Throwing on the Shadowheart focus Instruction
Next, we buy from the merchant with all the money, and then, in visa, or by creating a cloud of darkness, we steal this money. In the end, you only need to steal 1 product, the difficulty will be 30, but taking into account all of the above, we need to roll 15 from two dice (~40% chance), so in a couple of savescams you can easily rob the merchant)

Try to clear the entire map in the first and second acts for the sake of experience. After reaching levels 5, 8 and 10, the game will become noticeably easier.

Additions on the aunt and theft.
Advice for an aunt at level 4, tactics, solo, I found on the Internet a standard method for Larians with barrels:
1. You need a character with enough initiative to move in front of the grandmother, a bow, a fire arrow, a way to gain invisibility (potion/scroll);
2. Invisibility and with two barrels of gunpowder and one of fire (a whole warehouse in the goblin camp), we approach the area marked with a red circle (the grandmother initially stands there in invis), we begin to place barrels +/- around it
3. As soon as you place the first barrel, the invisibility will disappear, the battle will begin, but, thanks to point No. 1, you will go first;
4 The barrels do not waste an action, place the rest so that it would be possible to “surround” the grandma with them”;
5. Run back, shoot an incendiary arrow at the barrels, if the granny is thrown into the abyss, and you don’t want that - F8, if the granny doesn’t fly into the abyss, then she has ~20 HP left, complete the turn, on her turn she will start a dialogue = you Well done.

About theft
Rather than endlessly spin the cube, hoping to roll 20-30 (even with bonuses you can sit for a long time), it will be faster to break the merchant’s gold in half through the exchange window in trade several times and return it to his inventory, then with much less requirements for the cube, steal these piles gold.

It is better to start playing this mode as Dark Seduction in order to get “bad” endings, regardless of your attitude towards the group around you. During this playthrough, you don’t have to focus on getting other trophies, except for being bitten by Astarion in the camp.
The second time, go through it on easy, having fun going through all the side effects and saving the tieflings.

The problem with gold and resources, at the moment (12/19/2023 version 4.1.1.4216792), is solved as follows:
The squad needs a druid in active wild form. We go to the merchant (any other character must trade). When you sell equipped equipment from a druid in wild form, you receive gold for it, but the equipment remains on the druid. Thus opening up the possibility of endless sale of the armor worn. Thus, starting from the 2nd character level, you can wipe out merchants, accumulate scrolls/arrows/gold/ingredients, without the need for theft and stat checks. Merchants are replenished after a long rest (you can do a partial one - without spending supplies, but not a short one). Having a high conviction speeds up the purging process.

I’ll give you a little advice on how to kill Aunt Ethel at the tactical level of difficulty, I killed her at level 4 of pumping, before the battle it is advisable that Volo perform an operation on you and give you a glass eye, thanks to which you will be able to see invisible opponents. There are two options for killing her.
1. Fast way. But you won’t get loot from her, and if you want to spare her, you also won’t get her hairball, which, of your choice, permanently increases one leveling parameter.
Throw invisibility on yourself, or a can of invisibility, the skill of seeing the invisible, or if you had an operation, then this skill is already passive, you run up and just throw it into the abyss, for two minutes.
2. Longer way. Before the battle we do the same manipulations, but now when you make her visible with one character, then with the second you throw a dome of silence over her, in this dome she will not be able to make copies of herself and for me she just stood still and skipped every turn. At the end, when she has less than 30% health left, remove the dome and she will give you an item, or you can just kill her, but I still advise you to let her go, this is a more valuable reward, and then you will meet her again in 3 act and you can finally finish it off.

What I can personally recommend: make a thrower build. Berserker, warrior and rogue in one. An ideal combination, especially if combined with an illithid spell for casting actions. Rogue thief for two additional actions, berserker for 6 and warrior for 2.
The ideal spear is what is taken in the third act and returned to you (if you steal the genie's ring and spin the wheel)
For items, take everything that gives throwing damage
Throwing itself will scale greatly depending on how high you are relative to the enemy.
You can throw anything, even notes, if you run out of everything else, there will be a lot of damage too)
By the way, if you take two throwers, it won’t be bad at all. The third one, without any problems, you can take either an AoE mage with fireballs, for example, or a priest for healing. The fourth tank will be either a warrior or a berserker, depending on what you need.

In addition to advice on two melee soldiers and a feature with a druid in wild form for robbing merchants, I’ll add that barrels of black powder or fire powder help wildly. Especially against bosses.
- In the goblin camp, to the left of Guts' room, there is a room filled with barrels.
- Apostle Myrkula can be easily carried out if you line the hole from which he will come out with barrels in advance. 10 barrels were enough for me to one-shot the second phase of the boss.
- Gortash also flies off instantly if you first surround it with barrels. Orin can also make a trap that will turn a killer into a killer kebab.
- The final battle with the brain can be easily completed even with tactics. You need Gale, two invisibility potions and a couple of haste potions. After talking with the allies and meeting the guards running from the enemies, we turn left and go around the main location with the enemies. We make one of the heroes invisible and go around all the way to the door, where we have to go up to the brain. Next, a cutscene will start where Gale will offer her services. We agree, watch the cartoon and get an achievement.
I ran the entire game on tactics with the following team: GG (paladin-oathbreaker), Karlakh, Laezel and Shadowheart. The trio deals fierce damage to enemies, Shady heals if necessary. Well, barrels. The power is in the barrels.

If anyone is looking for information about beating the game using Gale's Netherian sphere, I hasten to disappoint you that this ending will not be counted as a “clearance of the game.” Unfortunately, you will have to go through all 3 chapters to get the trophy.
