How to unlock the Perfect Freeflow 2.0 achievement in Batman Arkham City - Definitive Guide

It isn't enough to just know the moves, without a proper plan what move to use next, you will forget what moves you still have left to do! Trust me. It makes it much easier to use a planned pattern of moves to get this achievement! Just make sure you have unlocked all of these moves in the story before trying this.

What level to use: Survival of the Fittest level 3.

Why? In level 2, there is just barely enough enemies to do it. It makes it easier to have a few extra guys to beat. Feel free to try some other level too. This is just my suggestion.

How to keep the combo going easily?

- Just use the A-button to jump over the enemies. You can keep doing it as long as you want, giving you the necessary space to do the next move. Also pressing START to pause the game after doing a move helps to plan the next move. Note that you can't do the special combo moves (B+Y, A+B etc.) when the combo meter is not flashing yellow. So punch 2 enemies, then do the next step.

Here is my pattern that worked. I will explain why to perform the moves in this order.

PATTERN: (12 moves required to get the achievement)

1. Strike (X) (Basic moves first)

2. Counter (Y) (Basic moves first)

3. Evade (press A to jump over an enemy. You should be doing this all the time anyway. If you want to make sure this works, jump once to an open area of the map. Note: you can only do that once, the second consecutive open area jump will break the combo.) *Thanks to Kung Fu Riki for that*

4. Stun (B) (Basic moves first)

5. Disarm and Destroy (X+Y) (Use this to destroy the propane tank the one guy is going to throw at you to avoid problems. Batman will break the propane tank causing a smoke screen -> enemies will get disoriented, making the next move easier. This move won't work, if the enemy isn't holding a weapon. In that case it will only count as a special combo takedown. If the enemy is equipped with anything other than just bare fists, this move will work against it.

-----------------------3 MOVE COMBO----------------------------------------------------

6a. Bat Swarm (A+X) (This is the first move of three move combo, making it easier to do these. Get to the center of the enemies, then use this move to stun the enemies.)

6b. Combo Batarang (LT+LT quickly) (Quickly punch 2 guys, then when the counter is flashing yellow again, throw the batarang. Then there will be 1-2 enemies on the floor. Do this only when combo counter is flashing yellow. If you do this while the counter is white, it will only count as a gadget attack.) *thanks to Groqik for this info*

7. Ground Pound (RT+Y) (Now use this move to take down one of the guys on the floor. If you do this fast enough, the enemies won't hit you in the back, because they are still stunned from the bat swarm move.)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

8. Multi Ground Takedown (A+B) (Do this now, because later the combo might be too strong, leaving no enemies on the floor. It won't work if there is no enemies stunned on the floor)

9. Aerial Attack (B+A+A) (Easy to do. Why save the easy ones last? To avoid frustration. )

10. Special Combo Takedown (B+Y) (Easy to do)

11. Ultra Stun (B+B+B) (This is easier to do when there's only couple enemies left. They usually hit you in the back, if you have a bunch of enemies around you and you try to do this.)

12. Beat Down (B+X+X+X...) (Use this against the last enemy, or when there's only couple left)

Added tips: I repeat this, the combo batarang won't work if the counter is not flashing yellow. It will only flash yellow after every 2 punches you throw, after you have reached over 5x combo.

Press X after the round to show what moves you did and which ones you are missing.

After doing the last move, the achievement will unlock immediately. You will probably have to try this many times, but with practice and learning the pattern, it is very doable. Good luck!

Great Solution! I ended up doing the Multi ground takedown as the first move to get it out of the way, but otherwise then that your sequence was awesome, thanks

I'm really struggling with this - I've spent the last like 3 hours playing it non-stop and I just can't get it. I keep getting 11 on the variety bonus despite following this guide. Am I missing something? Do I have to do an aerial attack off one enemy onto another (as per in game physical challenge) or is the B+A+A thing sufficient?

@xLoCk 0nx Try doing just a vault over an enemy with a regular A jump. That's what I was missing and unlocked the achievement when I did it.

Nope no matter what I do I'm not getting it through this guide - nowhere in this guide is there mention of LT+Y for quickfire batclaw - is this what i'm missing?

By xLoCk 0nx on 28 Oct 2011 20:28
Yeah, no batclaw. Thanks for the guide, though. I got this on my second attempt (!!) on the third level of SotF L3 (you're correct... guys in L2 just went down way too fast). I didn't use your exact order. Somehow, I got the Beat Down as one of my first moves (they just weren't moving in for whatever reason), the Bat Swarm before Disarm & Destroy, and the Ground Pound last. I was a little worried that I had done something wrong when the achievement didn't pop instantly. Batman stood up, and I paused the game to check the list to see what I'd missed, and while I was musing that I didn't think I'd missed anything, I heard the achievement pop in my headset.

Now, it's on to the Campaign Challenges, where I just "can't wait" to do Top of the World (Extreme) again. /sarcasm

I'd just like to point out that while you can use either variation of the Aerial Attack, I find it much safer to just rebound off the first enemy onto another one. You can be hit at any point during the standard attack. However, I have never been hit while jumping at another enemy.

Hey another very important tip you should probably add to the guide - while it might seem very obvious, you will NOT receive credit for the X+Y disarm and destroy bonus if you do not perform it against an enemy with a weapon, it will simply count as an instant take down (ie. the B+Y special combo). This is obviously where I was messing up last night and I'm now kicking myself for it. The times where I was actually disarming an enemy with a knife were typically the times I messed up somewhere later, and those times where I used X+Y on an enemy with no weapon were those that I successfully incorporated every move! I hope this saves some of you some undue frustration.

This isn't right. The batarang doesn't count as a move, it counts as a gadget so everytime i've tried your way i've only been able to get a variation of 11. The 12th move is jumping over someone

By Th3Freak55 on 31 Oct 2011 02:13
Yeah, maybe you are right. I edited the solution. But it seems crazy that you didn't jump over an enemy to get the variation bonus in the first place. It's very basic move in the game like striking, so i didn't even think about it. I do it all the time in combat. I also added that disarm and destroy thing.

I varied up your order some, opening with moves that I thought were more difficult, but your 3 move combo is key. That ground pound was killing me every time before I read your solution. Bat Swarm --> Batarang --> Ground Pound is brilliant.

Dude this by far was the perfect guide. the key is just to remember that after you do any two button combo moves, you will have to evade and strike more thugs until its active. Just take it slow, pause when needed, and write down the list suggested, that way you know what to do and what you've done.

Thanks for this guide, it helps me a lot !!!
But I did it on carnival joker map and use a different order :
1. Counter (Y)
2. Strike (X) until x5 combo
3. Bat Swarm (A+X) when you're in the middle of most of the guys
4. Ground Pound (RT+Y)
5. Evade (A)
6. Stun (B)
7. Disarm and Destroy (X+Y) You just have to aim your target some moves before the combo because only a few are armed (and dangerous)
8. Multi Ground Takedown (A+B) After the previous combo, a lot come to fight. Do a lot of strikes and clear the area with this combo
9. Special Combo Takedown (B+Y)
10. Aerial Attack (B+A+A) Try to not interrupt it or it doesn't count towards the achievement.
11. Ultra Stun (B+B+B)
12. Beat Down (B+X+X+X...)

I successfully obtain it after 1h and half.

Very good--plue one to your positive votes. But: you NEED the combo batarang. I performed the combo batarang at the very end after all other moves and THEN the achievement popped. Retested it on a dummy profile and it again did not unlock until I did the combo batarang.

I spent hours trying to find why I was stuck with only 11 combos... Finally, the one which was missing for me was "Combo Batarang" :

Read carefuly the combo description, don't use it when your combo counter is white, unless it will not be count as combo batarang but as gagdet, this is the common mistake.

Knowing that, in all the action described above, there is one that doesn't count in the combo achievement.

Good guide but personally i did the beatdown first because it gave me grief. Also, the achievement only popped when i used the grapnel for a takedown on what i assumed was my last move. So maybe the use of any gadget is essential for this and not necessarily the batarangs.

I'm confused about the requirements for this achievement... I've checked multiple sources and they all slightly vary in what moves they say are necessary. For instance, there are videos of others getting this achievement without using the combo batarang attack, and yet they claim there are a total of 13 moves you must do instead of 12. Maybe the achievement only really requires you do a certain number of different moves, and the combination you choose is irrelevant? I have no idea. :(

I literally just got this, thumbs up. I got the aerial attack and ultra stun out the way first. I learned that doing an ultra stun counts as 3 seperate stuns AND an ultra stun meaning those moves do not need to be seperate which saved me a lot of grief since a stun and evade usually combined itself into an aerial attack and I'd end up getting hit mid flight.

Guys, the combo batarang isn't necessary. I didn't use it and just got the achievement about 20 minutes before writing this. I did however use the batclaw slam right at the beginning: LT + Y, X and then all the other moves and it popped. I had trouble getting the combo batarang to work so starting with the batclaw slam got it out of the way immediately and I didn't have to remember to do it later.

I did this on the first round of Prison Riot Extreme. It was nice to be able to just restart if I screwed up and begin again. Just use the disarm and destroy on the stun guys to get them out of the way and just evade over and over. I think I only used counter once. There are plenty of guys to do this without any trouble.

Hmm, i don't get it tried 100 times, i need to punch at least 5-10 till i can do the next special so its almost impossible to not get breaked also very often even if it flashed yellow and i press the correct combination nothing happens, it has to be pressed 2-3 Times fast so that it perhaps finally execute what i pressed, for me this is glitched... And the worst even if i don't get hit sometimes the Combocounter is gone for apparently no Reason, this suxx, i want a Patch that fixes the lame Responsetime and also why the hell i need 5-10 Punches even on +30 Combo to do the next Special, this is really awful... Once i even got the Freeflow Bonus while doing all the 4 Specials and all the other Stuff, checked in List everything there, but no Achievement... So i don't know, with the other Bugs perhaps its glitched for me... :(

The pattern for the moves works great. I ended up getting this done on Prison Riot (Extreme) instead of SotF. Just a suggestion to those who may be having problems: I only found the one knife guy on Survival's thrid round which can make getting Disarm and Destroy a little nerve-wrecking. Try going to Custom Chellenges, the Prison Riot (Extreme) with super powered on. Almost every thug has a stun baton or shield, but with the boost on you don't need to worry about it as much.

After I switched maps and tried the custom method, I got it on my second attempt. Plus rounds two, three and four have enough goons to get the job done. Watch out for the ninjas.

Good idea jimmy vanzetti. I used Prison Riot (Extreme) in Custom Challenges with Super Powered turned on. I got it on the first round of that level after a few tries. It's much easier when you can earn it on the first round of a level, rather than waiting until the second or third.

Many of the opponents have weapons, so Counter is hard to come by. As such, I get it as my first move. The first guy at at the beginning of the level who comes up to you is unarmed. So don't attack, and when he starts to punch, the Counter exclamation mark appears above his head, and then you can hit Y and get the Counter out of the way immediately.

Thanks Kovy88, other than doing Counter first, I used your sequence of moves.

After 6 hours last night. I obsessed about it while trying to go to sleep, woke up this morning and was hitting 10s and 11s regular. Finally did it after 40 minutes.

Ground Pound and Beat Down are the hardest to get so i recommend these combos.

Bat Swarm, Stun+Beat Down on someone near the edge, you may need to counter someone mid way through but can carry on the beat down if you are quick after.

And on the very last guy, use triple stun which puts him on the floor, then use Ground Pound.

Great guide! +1 Although, since the combo batarang doesn't work when it isn't yellow, it won't work right after using your Bat swarm. So maybe put step 7 right after 6a and then 6b the next time you get yellow right before using step 8.

Very helpful but I found it 1000x less complicated to do the combo batarang right before the bat swarm, that way you can go right to the ground pound. It also helps to do bat swarm before ultra stun and aerial attack as I was having problems not getting hit during those moves.

God the worst part of this is restarting and waiting for the loading screens and menus and fighting through the first two waves again. I wish there were a faster way to retry this.

Edit: I take that back, it's the finickiness of basically everything. I finally managed to pull this off and the game said I didn't have an evade, of all things. Heartbreaking.

Edit again: It's mentioned twice that you get a flashing yellow counter after 2 punches (as it relates to the combo batarang); it's definitely 3 punches. Also I'm pretty sure that the evade description is wrong and jumping over an enemy doesn't count.

For prosperity, Level 3 is in reference to how many rounds you need to get into (Either difficulty, but Normal is probably the best play for anyone going for this) before you will have enough enemies to use all these combos. Beat Rounds 1 and 2 however you like before starting guide. Also you can use the Joker's Playground map as mentioned below to only need to get to Level 2. (Thank you 零)

the batclaw quickfire isn't needed i've just done the achievement following this guide which works well the only problem i had was trying to not mess up at the end when i just needed to do the ultra stun, stun punch combo or the aerial attack with out getting hit or missing, it could be you just need to get a variation x12 with out getting hit using batman moves. @xLoCk 0nx when you do the destroy weapon move do you destroy the weapon or do a takedown instead with the button cause the person wasn't holding a weapon and no you don't have to aerial attack off on to another person (i struggled to do that with batman but had no problems doing that move with cat woman)

You might want to mention that if you finish the round you can check the moves that you attempted by pressing X. I noticed that I only got one Evade even though I was jumping all of the place. Most of my Evades were counting as Redirects because I was jumping over a person. I believe Evade to mean that you jump to an open area of the map. I used Combat Batarang in my combo but I'm not convinced that it is needed; however, I think that getting your combat multiplier to turn red may be included. Great guide; extremely helpful with the trouble I was having.

Worked great for me, with a few modifications. First, you're pretty much untouchable if you strike, evade, repeat, but that won't get you all the moves in one combo. I did a couple of strikes, counter, then stun one guy, and evade over another in the opposite direction (important, so you don't accidentally aerial attack yet). A couple more strikes to get a few guys on the ground, then the multi-ground takedown (A+B). Hit and evade a few more times until your combo meter is lit and you can break a weapon, then a few more to do a Bat Swarm in a crowd, followed by an Aerial Attack on a stunned thug. After that, it's just punch, evade, instant takedown until you've got a few left, and then beatdown one of them, countering or evading if someone tries to hit you, until you finish the beatdown. When you're down to the last guy, ultra-stun him, then flip into a ground takedown to pop the achievement.

I analyzed the Problem, and its fucking glitched, if i eg

1. I perform a Special with Combo 20 flashing Yellow while performing the Counter is suddenly 8 so was reseted while i was performing the Special in the Air without anyone being able to hit me....

2. Two Guys attack Blue Mark i press two Times Y one Guy suddenly decides to not attack Counter is reseted but how should i know that they suddenly seize to attack and why the Hell pressing Y one Time to much resets the Counter then....

3. Counter Flashes Yellow i press Special, Special is not performed and Counter is reset back to Zero instantly without any Reason also the Combination pressed was correct, tested many Times it happens regulary...

4. Counter is Reseted while pounching without anyone Hit me, happens regulary and i don't see any Reason for it, or how much Time do you have between Hits? 1/10 Second or what?

Sorry, but for me its glitched, not the Achievement itself but the Combo Counter is fucking bugged, seems the Devs had only one Thing in the Head, reseting your Freeflow with all means possible even if everything is correct.... Either i get a Patch or i seize playing it for sure...

Just got this, thanks to this guide. I was having problems with these moves so I got a pretty good strategy to get each one consistently. My way needs a few more bad guys to do so definitely do round 3 or 4

Ultra Stun (B+B+B) - easy to get interrupted so do it right after a Bat Swarm. My moves: A+X -> B+B+B
Beat Down (B+X+X+X...) - easy to get interrupted so do it right after a Bat Swarm. My moves: A+X -> B+X+X+X+...
Multi Ground Takedown (A+B) - My problem is that sometimes the bad guys get up too quickly so you may not have anybody down and break your combo. Do it after an Ultra Stun which always guarantees a guy stunned on the ground. My moves: A+X -> B+B+B -> (punch/kick/counter to get flashing again) -> A+B
Ground Pound (RT+Y) - one of the worst moves for me. Several problems here... you may be punched pretty much anytime, even as you are in the middle of the move and there may not be a bad guy on the ground by the time you get clear enough. My way was to do it right after an Ultra Stun, because the guy stays down for awhile and I can jump away from him, wait 1-2 punches for the bad guys to cluster around me and leave the guy on the ground alone and then do it. This way you can go for this early in the combo and focus on easier moves later. My moves: A+X -> B+B+B -> (punch/kick/counter to move away) -> RT+Y

The other moves are pretty easy if you follow Kovy88's tips above.

You need to perform all the moves during one combo and get a variation bonus of "12"

The exact moves required are:

Basic moves
Strike (X)
Counter (Y)
Stun (B)
Ultra Stun (B,B,B)
Aerial Attack (B,A,A+Left stick in direction)

Combos
Special Combo Multi Ground Takedown (A+B) - must have at least 1 enemy dazed on the ground before doing this or it wont count
Special Combo Disarm and Destroy (X+Y) - Can be done against people who are holding any object such as a knife or sledge hammer
Special Combo Bat Swarm (A+X)
Combo Batarang (LT pressed quickly)

Finishers
Ground Pound (RT+Y) - Used to finish off an enemy when they are dazed on the ground
Special Combo Takedown (B+Y)
Beat Down Finisher (B+X and keep pressing X)

The easiest level seems to be the second round of "Survival of the Fittest". There is just enough enemys to perform all the required moves.

so the only quick gadget required is the Batarang this time? No grapple pull, explosive roll or electroburst shot?

Wow thanks for this list OP. You have no Idea how much of a relief it is to know I don't have to knife dodge. Or use all the gadgets. I know what I'll be doing this weekend :)

Lol looking at this list I have to facepalm... I did all of these move's last night. I included all 5 gadgets, and let a knife guy attack me so I could counter. What was I missing? The Ultra stun, 3 presses of the B button.

You DO need to use the batarang (no other gadgets though). I wasn't getting it to unlock, and it unlocked immediately after I decided to try tossing one.

If you need the Batarang its nice that my Gadgets always changes without touching the Cross once, once its Elektro, once its Explosiv,.. even if i select Batarang suddenly its changed and i swear i not touched the Cross once...

Sorry, this is no Fun!

I think i finished the one Challenge 200 Times now, i even got Freeflow Bonuses and on the List is every Move even more there was 13 Moves and each of them 6-35 Times executed, so what? What does use all Combat Moves in one Combo means? Does Gadgets count?

Does Special Moves Count? Or only the default Combatmoves?

What if its really only the Combatmoves and no Specials and no Gadgets, but the simple Combatmoves?

If i read the Achievement in my Language it means exactly that, perform a perfect Combo with the Combatmoves, and like i understand it only with the Combatmoves... So from this Translation its no Specials and no Gadgets, but then some says you need to use the Specials and some the Gadgets, well on the Video the Dude uses no Gadgets at all, but the Specials...

And what means 12 x Variationbonus? I got 6 x once thats all, but i executed all Specials and certainly all default Combat moves, so i don't understand it... SOme says you need to get a 12 x to get the Achievment, but this Bonus is counted overall not only i one Combo, i tested it its for the Round not only one Combo, so what are Variations? Because from this Logic i should had more than 6x well a mystery...

Well the Devs of that Game should have explained and what about a Progresswindow where you see your Move, would be nice.... I seen a Video of the old Batman Game and there is a Progress Window also the Dude who get the same Achievement get it for executing all Moves in the Window but apparently the Combo don't need to be unbroken till the End because the Counter resets in the middle in that Video but he gets the Achievement....

This is like it should be, its enough, the actual one lacks of the Progresswindow, and its a Pain in the Ass to have the Luck that your Combo is not broken by a fucking Glitch, this is no Fun!

I will try it further, but after 500 tries or so i will Kill the Game for sure, i will break the DVD in little Pieces and send them to the lame Devs with a Hateletter if it does not Pop and there is no Patch to fix the obvious Bugs in the Combatsystem, it would be nice enough if a wrong "Y" do to glitches where it does nothing or the Dudes simple seize to attack would be removed, because this really suxx! >:(

Also anyway why the Hell i need to build a Combocounter first before i can unarm a single Foe? This should be a Basic Move like the Air Attack or the Ground Slam...

Well, it seemed a cool Game, but now its starts to become pure Shit, i will not play any further if this is not fixed or i have the Luck it pops with all the Bugs present, what probably will not because if it really depends on the Combocounter not being reset, its the pure Shit, there are so many Glitches that resets it, its really more than Luck if it does.... Especially on that Freeflow System where it does what it wants but not what i want to do, Buttons are simply ignored the Game selects the Direction at its own, well then please do it RIght or do nothing, but this way it only Suxx Big Time...

Once i got the list i did it with ease. if you having difficulty write a list down and cross them off. I started with the simple ones you can knock most off before your even ready for a special eg Counter the first guy that comes at you Avade, Strike, Stun, Ariel. then my tip is first special to use is Disarm, that guy with the knife can catch you out if you dont take it off him. Then simply Strike once or twice only dont get too cocky, then avade, soon as your ready for the next special hit it early so you dont run out of guys. Another tip leave beat down, super stun, and ground attack till the last two guys. Beat down the one guy then combine superstun and ground and pound for the last guy. As for the "glitchyness" i didnt have any trouble, took three tries but id ticked everything off the list and popped first time.

@NeXus23 you dont need to use the cross to pick any gadgets, you use the quick fire batarang by simply tapping LT twice. this maybe why you having such a problem, if you standing there aiming batarangs at people you will definately break your combo.

That was a cancer of an achievement. After trying with levels 2,3 and 4. 3 and 4 are full of RNG I've had it multiple times where I would get 11 of the 12 moves but none of the enemies would ever pickup a weapon. I've had enemies also teleport across during those rounds when they were swinging a knife. Round 2 is the way to go less RNG, less people to teleport and hit you and they are scripted to pickup multiple weapons. Ground and Pound should be the very first thing you do.

Yes, that seems to be the case. I (like many others) tried using all the gadgets in a combo with no luck. because we were missing one of the above.

I'm sure using all of the gadgets in the combo as well won't hurt, but if you just want to get it over and done with the above moves are all you need :)

If someone wants to they could always try using another gadget instead of the batarang and see if it still unlocks (eg, all the above but use gel instead...etc)

I did a lot of trying to get the Perfect Freeflow 2.0 last night and couldn't figure out what I was missing. I even got to one point where I literally knew I had done everything on the list. Paused and went back over it and nothing was missing. Saw Kenpachi's comment, unpaused and jumped over someone with A and the achievement unlocked. Others can do testing too, but an A jump is definitely required. (I just apparently don't jump enough or at all)

Just to add to the great solutions above If you have it the Joker's Carnival map works really well. You can keep banking on lvl 2 and never really have to fight armored baddies or ninjas. It is nice because you don't have to play through any other waves to get to it. Also if you mess up you can just start again since it is only one round and timed. Hope this helps.

First, thumbs up. This map got me the achievement in about 40 minutes. I didn't even bother with the others, and most of that time was spent perfecting the below information.

As an addition, here's the optimal order of moves for this map:

Strike
Ultra Stun
Counter
Evade
Stun
Bat Swarm (A+X)
Ground Pound

RB (Bank)

Beat Down
Disarm and Destroy (X+Y)

RB (Bank)

Aerial Attack
Multi Ground Takedown (A+B)
Combo Takedown (B+Y)
Combo Batarang (LT)

As I found through trial-and-error, the Ultra Stun and the Combo Batarang are the most dangerous moves to use, as Batman is completely vulnerable during them and they caused about 80% of my combo losses. So unless you either time your attacks with precision or feel like gambling, this order gets one out of the way first and leaves the other for last. The placement of Beat Down gives enemies a chance to pick up the weapons that spawn; remember to counter anyone who tries to interrupt you. The final four can be done in any order, really, but I chose to save the final "dangerous" move for last.

Using this map and this method, one of my friends got the achievement in about 20 minutes.

If you're like me, then this was your last achievement. That means you've spent countless hours enjoying the Story, side story, riddler trophies, as well as the combat, and predator challenges. Then you spent even more time doing the challenges all over again in the campaign. And if you're also like me, you have the Catwoman DLC which means you need to do all of her campaign as well.

Needless to say if you're like me, the campaign challenge part of this game has worn you down. It also means that you have put in enough time to get this chevo real quick. First, here's a list of the moves you need to do in order to unlock the achievement (I did them in this order):

1. Punch (X)
2. Counter (Y)
3. Evade/vault (A)
4. Stun (B)
5. Multiple Combo Takedown (B+A)
6. Batswarm (X+A)
7. Special Combo Disarm (X+Y)
8. Batarang (LT+LT quickly)
9. Aerial Attack (B+A+A)
10. Special Combo Takedown (B+Y)
11. Beat down (B+ X-repeatedly)
12. Ultra Stun (B+B+B)
13. Ground Pound Takedown (RT +Y)

Note: People say you only need 12 moves but I consider Batarang it's own separate move, you get 13 total moves)

Next the Level. Like others I chose Survival of the fittest. Round 3 and 4 are perfect for it. However, I found myself fighting a bunch of people and they didn't always have weapons. SO. I recommend going to the CUSTOM CAMPAIGN section, selecting survival of the fittest, and adding the modifier that allows henchmen to pick up and throw objects at you.

Strategy: Quickly take care of the guys in the first two rounds. You can use these rounds for practice but there just aren't enough guys. Round 3 is a good place to begin. Remember there is nothing wrong with punching once, then vaulting over, punch again, and repeat. The reason i say to do the Multiple Combo takedown early is to get it out of the way but also leave you with enough guys. Also, make sure your combo is flashing YELLOW to perform the Batarang.

You will find that you will have many more guys than you actually need. I found this out because I got hit or lost my combo thinking that a henchmen was going to punch. Rather than restart, I just kept going. And of course if you've taken out too many guys, you can always try again with wave 4 (more than enough guys).

NOTE: When you do your Aerial attack, make sure no one is around you as they will still try to punch you while you do this move and it can mess up your combo

To Finish your combo, you ultra stun the last guy and then perform the ground pound takedown. FYI this is how you should finish every round for whatever you're doing to maximize your points from your combo.

People have said that this takes an hour or more to get. But if you're like me, you've put in more than enough time on the combat, predator, and campaign challenges so this should only take about 20 mins just to give you a few tries. But really if you employ the punch and vault strategy there's nothing to stop you from getting it on the first try.

Last Tip(s):
-Don't be too greedy. Again there's nothing wrong with vaulting, punching, and vaulting again as long as 1 counter is in there. Most of your frustration will come because you want to get in more hits before you jump again and that usually results in a hit or you losing your combo. By now you've spent a lot of time stringing up combos, just do what is necessary to get the achievement
-Turn on your detective mode if that will help, And if you find yourself with extra men to finish off, there's nothing wrong with throwing in a few Bat Swarms to keep them at bay. Sure you can use other moves, but I found the bat swarm the easiest to use while making sure that there is at least one final guy standing to finish the last few moves.

The key difference in my strategy is using the Custom Campaign Challenge mode (probably the only time you'd actually use this mode) and selecting the modifier that allows henchmen to pick up and throw weapons. This ensures that you'll have plenty of targets that will have a weapon in there hand for you to disarm, even if you mess up.

If you liked this solution then give me a thumbs up. If not, then let me know why.

I got this achievement today on Survival of the Fittest (waves 3 and 4) and thought about sharing my approach and order of the moves.

Short version:
1- cn_X
2- cn_Y
3- cn_B (on one enemy)
4- cn_A (on a different enemy from the above) and then cn_A again (away from everybody, towards an open area)
5- cn_A + cn_B (there must be at least one enemy stunned on the floor)
6- cn_X + cn_Y (towards an enemy who has a weapon or throwable object)
7- cn_X + cn_A
8- cn_Y + cn_B
9- cn_LT, cn_LT (combo meter must also be glowing yellow or orange/red)
10- cn_B, cn_A, cn_A
11- cn_B, cn_X, cn_X, cn_X, cn_X...
12 and 13- cn_B, cn_B, cn_B and then once this last enemy is on the floor cn_RT+cn_Y

Long version and explanations:

1- Start hitting (cn_X) against one of the regular guys (any of those who don't block attacks and whose attacks are countered by simply hitting cn_Y) 1, 2 or 3 times, until another regular guy or guys come to attack you.

2- Hit cn_Y as many times (up to 3) as there are enemies about to attack you, to counter their attacks.

3- Press cn_B towards an enemy to stun him.

4- Press cn_A towards a different enemy than the previous move (otherwise you might end up performing an Aerial Attack) to jump over him. Once you jumped over him, press cn_A again towards an open area to evade.

Now that all the basic moves were executed, let's focus on the combo ones (the ones that can only be performed when the meter is glowing yellow or red). Keep hitting enemies then, until the meter glows.

5- The first combo to execute is the cn_A + cn_B. Why? Because later on the enemies might be too weak and this combo needs to be executed when there is at least one stunned enemy on the floor. And that just happened when you were working to build the combo meter up, so at least one enemy should be stunned on the floor. Batman will jump into the air and throw batarangs towards those kind of enemies if there's any. If there's none, he will still jump, but the animation will be shorter and there won't be any green targets tagged when he does that. In other words, you executed the move, but there was nobody on the floor ready to be hit. If that's the case, do it again, properly.

6- The next combo move I advise is the cn_X + cn_Y one, which disarm enemies that might be armed with knives, doors, stun batons, hammers, boxes or fire extinguishers, breaking the weapon/item so it cannot be picked up and reused by any foe. For that combo to work properly you obviously need to direct it against an enemy that is holding any of the weapons mentioned.

7- The following combo move can be either the cn_X + cn_A or the cn_Y + cn_B, since they don't have special requirements. The first will send a swarm of bats against the enemies around you and the last will take any enemy (except bosses) down.

8- Depending which you chose to do on step 7, now do the other.

9- The last combo move isn't listed by some as a move at all, but apparently also has to be executed, so, having your combo meter glowing yellow or orange/red, press cn_LT twice to throw batarangs.

10- Now, keep taking out enemies until there are about 3 left. Stun one of them (cn_B) and press cn_A twice towards him to perform the Aerial Attack. There is a very useful trick to avoid being hit by other enemies while you're vulnerable performing the animation of this move. You can try to pick someone that's further away from the other 2 enemies left (if you press cn_B towards an enemy, Batman will run towards him a great lenght of distance even if he's far away), or you can try to stun the other two as well. Personally, what I prefer to do is to stun the enemy I'm going to execute the Aerial Attack on, wait a moment and finish pressing the cn_A twice only after another enemy threatens to attack me. That way his attack falls short and I can finish my move on the first without any danger.

11- Now there should be 2 enemies left and 3 moves still to be executed. Stun the last enemy so he gives you a break and stun (cn_B) the one you going to use now and then starting hitting cn_X until the beat down is finished.

12 and 13- On the last enemy you will be able to execute the last 2 moves. The first one will leave him incapacitated on the floor, which is the cn_B+cn_B+cn_B. Then, while moving towards him, press cn_RT + cn_Y simultaneously to do the ground takedown.

When you are able to pull this off, congratulations! It isn't too hard, specially if you have practiced it.

If this solution helped you in any way, give it a thumbs up and leave a comment.

A simple video showing how exactly you can achieve this achivement
You will have to try this many times, but with practice and learning the pattern.it will take some time to get it right just keep trying

Well... this is my contribution to this achievement... I've got this video made and posted today on how to get it in the easiest way there is... during the video I show the buttons and colors they represent (for XBOX 360) while I'm performing the combo.... Don't forget to use EVADE (double tap A button) as much as you can to get away from being hit and get ready for the next move, combo or strike, whatever... there are 12 moves total.. so you'll probably get the 50x combo as well.... I got more than 50 hits here but as I already had this achievement you won't be seeing any pop-up message about getting it... (in the video I speak Portuguese) but by looking at the buttons on screen and the move I perform at the same time will probably be enough to get it.... just in case you're struggling with ask a friend to read it to you as you perform them one by one.... that's it... hope have helped... For this achievement the goal is to have "Variation Bonus x 12" in the screen at the end of the round. You can forget about the basic moves: strike, counter, and redirect. If you have a fair bit of combat experience you should be doing these without even trying. So that leaves 10 moves. Yes, you're thinking that's bad math. In actuality there are 13 total moves you have to perform, but the variation bonus starts counting at the second move, so for example if you do a combo with 5 moves you get a variation bonus of x4.
The rest of the moves are:
Stun
Ultra Stun
Aerial Attack
Beat Down
Ground Pound
Combo Batarang
Special Combo Bat Swarm
Special Combo Takedown
Special Combo Multi Ground Takedown
Special Combo Disarm and Destroy

Now I found following a set pattern was easier to remember, but often something would go wrong and I would freeze up and drop the combo. So personally I found it easier to play more naturally and try to remember which moves I hadn't done so far. So here are some tips for each move.

(Note: I did this on Survival of the Fittest, round 3. Round 4 is good as well, of course.)

Stun: Really, you shouldn't even try for this because when you do the Ultra Stun the first two hits count as separate stuns anyway.

Ultra Stun: This is made much easier when you use Special Combo Bat Swarm, hopefully stunning almost all of the enemies. Try to target a nonstunned enemy if possible, or else an enemy that appears to be further away from the others.

Aerial Attack: Same as Ultra Stun except there is much less chance of getting hit. If you can do it without the Bat Swarm, fine, but I think is a case of "better safe than sorry".

Beat Down Finisher: This is probably the easiest move in the game other than basic moves and instant takedown. Just pick any enemy, preferably not close to a wall, press B to stun and mash X until he's out. You will have to counter other thugs at least once, but then you can go right back to whaling on the guy.

Ground Pound: Again, this is much easier with Special Combo Bat Swarm. The ideal setup is to activate Bat Swarm immediately after countering an enemy. (If it's two or three, even better.) Then right away hit RT+Y and you should be out of the animation just as everyone is coming to.

Combo Batarang: Other solutions state that for whatever reason, this doesn't count toward the achievement unless the combo counter is yellow. Simply press LT right before doing any "special combo attack". Also, I believe you can quickfire any gadget for it to count, however the Batarang is the quickest, easiest and by far the safest, so why not?

Special Combo Bat Swarm: This is a lifesaver. You can use it to pretty much guarantee a successful hit on whatever move you do next (other than another "special combo" move). However, sometimes if an enemy is picking up a weapon they won't be affected by the Bat Swarm, so just be aware of that.

Special Combo Takedown: Surprisingly I found myself often forgetting this one because it is so easy. B+Y on any enemy and that's it.

Special Combo Multi Ground Takedown: Wait until you counter at least two enemies, then press A+B. This gives you a better chance that they won't be instantly KO'ed.

Special Combo Disarm and Destroy: This is actually the hardest one to do only because there are a limited number of weapons. Try not to do it on a guy holding a fire extinguisher because you will throw it in the middle of the crowd, causing everyone to swing wildly and making it almost impossible not to get hit.

If you have the GOTY edition, or just the DLC alone containing it, Joker's Carnival thing is a great place to get this. As another heads-up, it's not just the combo batarang, it's any quickfire gadget, most likely. The achievement popped for me when I used a Batclaw Slam.

I finally got this days after mastering the combat after alot of effort so wanted to add my way i did it incase even after all of these guides you struggled, like i did.

Surival of the fittest round 3 & 4

step1
X strike (until yellow)
Y counter
A evade
B stun
X & Y Disarm & Destroy

step2
X strike (uy)
LT LT quickfire Baterang
A & B multi ground takedown (enemy must be stunned on ground)

step3
X strike (uy)
Y & B special takedown
X strike (uy)

repeat this easy step 3 until you have 3 enemys left

step 4
A & X batswarm
B B B ultra stun
RT & Y ground pound
A evade
B A A aerial strike
A evade
B A A A beat down finish

step 4 Just to clarify i have left the ground pound and aerial and beatdown until the last 3 enemys as they can break them, and they all dont require being yellow to perform so you can do the batswarm before everytime. if you start this final part before 3 enemys you can still do them but add a swarm before each if you cant do all 3 in one move.

step 3 i made the easiest as you can thin out enemys quickly doing this step, keeping an eye on how many enemys remain, i always use detective mode in combat as its less distracting.

step 2 the quickfire batrang which MUST be performed when yellow.

step 1 the counter move must also be performed when yellow.

I hope this guide helps someone.

In any combat encounter where an enemy is carrying a weapon, or in the Riddler’s Revenge challenge maps, you can earn this trophy. You must use 13 different moves in the same combo in order for it to count. If you get hit once, you have to start over. The moves are as follows, note that you can do the moves in any order, not necessarily as listed:

  • Strike
  • Stun:
  • Evade Over Enemy:
  • Counter:
  • Special Combo: Takedown: +
  • Special Combo: Bat Swarm: +
  • Special Combo: Disarm And Destroy: +
  • Special Combo: Multi-Ground Takedown: +
  • Aerial Attack: , ,
  • Beat Down Finisher: , (repeatedly)
  • Ultimate Stun: , ,
  • Ground Pound: +
  • Any Quickfire Gadget (See below in Gadget Attack)

The best map to attempt this on is the Joker's Carnival DLC map, which you will have by default on PS4. The enemies in this map enter gradually, so you'll have plenty to complete this trophy without being swamped. If you do not have this, Survival of the Fittest (Extreme) on the final round is the best option.

The trophy will unlock as soon as you execute a combo with all 13 moves in it.

Really the only skill-oriented achievement. You must unlock and perform all the moves at Batman's disposal in one unbroken combo. This can be done anywhere that you fight goons. It is highly recommended that you unlock Special Combo Boost to decrease the requirement for Special Combos from x8 to x5 and Critical Strikes to get a higher combo easier.

The exact moves required are:

Basic moves

  • Evade (,)
  • Strike ()
  • Counter ()
  • Stun ()
  • Ultra Stun (,,)
  • Aerial Attack (,,+ forward)

Combos

  • Special Combo Multi Ground Takedown (+) - must have at least 1 enemy dazed on the ground before doing this or it wont count
  • Special Combo Disarm and Destroy (+) - Can be done against people who are holding any object such as a knife or sledge hammer
  • Special Combo Bat Swarm (+)
  • Special Combo Takedown (+)

Finishers

  • Ground Pound (+) - Used to finish off an enemy when they are dazed on the ground
  • Beat Down Finisher ( repeatedly)

The easiest level seems to be the "Survival of the Fittest" Combat challenge. There are just enough enemies to perform all the required moves in all of the last three rounds so you have a few shots at it without needing to restart.
