How to unlock the Big Game Hunter achievement in Battle Chasers: Nightwar - Definitive Guide

The title of this one is a bit misleading. The Bestiary list is part of the journal that you bring with you on your journey. It is located in the tabs section when you hit cn_start. It will be updated with all the creatures that you find and kill as you go. As you kill more of the same enemy additional information will be added to that particular beast's page in the bestiary, allowing you to check out their locations, attack types, and drops. When you select a certain beast in the journal you will notice a progress bar for it. You will need to completely fill that progress bar for the enemies to count for the achievement. Some enemies like bosses you only need one kill, for some rare fights it will be 3 kills and some will be 5 or more.

There are 153 different enemy entries in the Bestiary and finding and completing all of these will require you to track down and kill every type of enemy (bosses included). Below I've provided a list of the enemies in the game sorted by Bestiary order and where to find each of them. Some of these enemies are missable or very, very hard to find such as the Mana Devourer.

I highly advise you do this list on your first playthrough and not on your NG+ because the enemies are so much tougher.

You get the three from 1)the Pointe Break Cantina, 2) purchased from the Collector and 3) located in a Treasure Chest in the Derelict Ship area. Play all three pieces separately to receive chests with treasure in them. Then go back and play all three at once, this will spawn one final Treasure Chest which also happens to be the Ancient Treasure Fiend (it's level 28!). Defeat this to net yourself a Legendary level accessory. I would recommend being level 30 prior to, but it may not be necessary depending on your team type.

Once you speak with the inhabitant, refuse to help him and he'll attack you. BESTIARY LIST PAGE TEN

151. Sky Captain Shanker - After completing the Dungeon: Junktown, you'll start to see airships/zeppelins appear on the map randomly. They will attack you on sight and this is one of the enemies you may encounter on board.
152. High Captain Blothe - After completing the Dungeon: Junktown, Dungeon: The Crimson Garden and defeating all of his underlings on randomly spawning airships (Sky Lieutenant Outlaw, Sky Lieutenant Bruiser, Sky Lieutenant Shaman, Sky Captain Flintlocke, Sky Captain Shanker and The Behemoth), High Captain Blothe will have a chance to spawn. His airship is much larger than the others, so should be easy to spot. It is however randomly generated so can be a pain to find, again keep teleporting until it shows up.

*This Sky list can be tough if you are not leveled all the way to thirty, I suggest doing it in one go, so they don't disappear for a while. I traveled teleporter to teleporter after each fight to try and spawn the next ship. You will fight quite a few ships before Captain Blothes ship arrives. I beleive if you are defeated they reset the ships.*

153. C'drall - Complete the boss encounter in the Night's Keep exploration area to unlock this entry.

For the most part they are in order by area, the bosses are the only ones at the bottoms that werent mixed in but they only need to be killed once. By the time I got ready for ng+ I only had a few enemies I had to go back and look in those areas for like death knight, deep lurker and rift gargoyles. I didn't get enough of those through my play through. But there wont be too many to go back and mop up just do so prior to the ng+ to save the frustrations I went through.

I feel like I'm going crazy. I've run mana rifts like 4 times now. I have yet to find a Deep Lurker. Is there some missing step about how to make these appear? What type of enemy is this even?

No, your not crazy its incredibly hard to spawn looks like one of the bosses big round shape lots of eyes. I seemed to get more of them on the med and harder settings.

Is there any dungeon that spawns treasure elementals more? 50 hours in and I've only encountered 1!

Yes, go to path of fangs. One of the chests are almost always a elemental.

Shade of Belevros (132) can also be encountered in the endless arena, that's where I got him.

Treasure Elementals are most easily found in The Path of Fangs. While I might have experienced a statistical anomaly, they seem most likely to appear in one of the first two 'rooms' of the right path. If you do not find one in either of those two rooms, it might be expedient to just restart the dungeon and try again.

Also, I was not able to achieve the mob-duplication glitch as described by iannf above. Each time I tried, I was placed back at the beginning of the dungeon with all previously slain mobs still slain, no mobs, treasure elementals, or harvest nodes ever respawned.

Do any of you that had to seek out Shade of Bevelros in the endless arena remember how long you had to stay in the arena to find him or is it just random? I've completed 10 phases (50 battles) and still haven't seen him yet.

Edit: nvm, a couple minutes after typing that I found him in the 11th phase (battle 54). I'm assuming it's just random and I had bad luck. Now to see if I can make it to phase 20 battle 100!!

I started NG+ as for the life of my couldn't get the Belevros's sarcophagus to appear during my first playthrough. After a few attempts I found it in the dungeon and I finally completed the bestiary. BUT the achievement didn't pop. So looks like it might be glitched. 😢

If you check your Bestiary and you see that all bars are filled up but achievement didn't pop, check number of defeated enemies :), I had bar filled up for Sky Lieutenant Shaman but numer of defeated enemies showed 0 ( I probably fled the fight when I was trying to do something else and couldn't be bothered with this pirate nonsense) so I went to find him, killed him and achievement popped :) Hope it helps

I check the bestiary. I killed at least one of all. It didn't unlocked for me. Same for the librarian.

Frustrating that you need to max out their "info bar" for them to count. I can never find Rift Gargoyle's and I screwed up the Shade of Belevros encounter since he killed me when I first met him and I thought just having him appear in the Bestiary would count.
I also went through a ton of rounds in the endless arena without meeting a Rift Gargoyle or the Shade of Belevros. I got up to 25,000 battle points and just gave up since it took me about 1.5 hours to do that with no success.

I also picked up Shade of Belevros in the Endless Arena. On my first attempt, I survived until round 11 and didn't find him. On my second attempt, he showed up in round 2 (battle 9).

Your bestiary carries over into NG+, so you if you missed Shade of Belevros on your first playthrough, you can make sure to make the other choice in your NG+ one. And you can just mop up any monsters/lore that happen to be left after completing the second playthrough.

New areas on NG+ are only harder initially. After you level and upgrade your gear, you end up one-shotting monsters in NG+ just the same as you would on a first playthrough, so the grind for mopping up monsters isn't much different at all.

literally check the amount of enemies you've killed, some you have to kill more than one

I start to think this achievement is missable. If you free Shade of Belevros before fighting him in the iron outpost you no longer can interact with sarcophagus also killing him in deadwatch doesn't count. I played few hours in endless arena and couldn't find him.

It won't pop in NG+. Same here with the Shadow of Belerus whatever sh*1 and I got all of them now but the achievement doesn't pop. Thank God I have 3 Xboxes so I recover a previous save on level 3 without NG+. Gonna try to get it now.

I'm very frustrated! The enemy, 132, is the only one left for me. But I've visited the dungeon more than 30 times and in none of the times, appears any option of interaction with the sarcophagus ...

There is a trick I found while working on my Rift Gargoyles. After you finish a battle with a rare enemy you need and see the save icon come up, go to home screen and close the game. It saves the kill in your bestiary but respawns the enemies in the dungeon so you will be guaranteed the one you need will be in there again. Just make sure you hit continue dungeon not reset.

I just wish I figured it out earlier before I spent hours hunting a couple of the rarer spawns. Only figured it out because my game crashed three times when trying to fight a boss.

There are a total of 153 different enemies/bosses in the game that you need to find and defeat. You must first get the Bestiary from Beastmaster Harm's Way. After you receive it, all enemies you encounter will be listed in the book after you kill them. You can view the Bestiary to see what you have and are missing at any time by looking at it in your compendium. For most of the normal enemies, you will have to defeat them a few times before their page is completed (the bar at the top right of their screen if completely filled and all their information is available). After you finish off the Bestiary, the trophy will pop.

Completed Bestiary List:

NOTE: When you first encounter Belevros in the Iron Outpost, choose to not release him and kill him to get the Shade of Belevros entry into the Bestiary, then replay the dungeon and release him the next time so that his Lord Belevros form will appear at Deadwatch later on. If you choose to release him first, then you will have to wait until your NG+ playthrough to get the Shade Of Belevros entry.

This achievement is missable!

As far as anyone has found, the only monster you can miss is the Shade of Bevelros. You find this monster as a random spawn in the Iron Outpost (trapped inside a coffin). You have the option to fight it or free it. If you free it right away, it moves to a different dungeon and transforms into Lord Bevelros, so the Shade entry will be missed. Instead, make sure to fight it first and then reset the dungeon to find it again and free it so it can transform for the other entry.

In addition to getting every monster recorded, you also need 100% knowledge about them which is indicated by the purple bar at the top of their entry in the book. Many enemies will give 100% after defeating them only once (bosses and the like), but most will require at least 3-5 kills. Luckily the first piece of information to get filled in is where they are located, so after beating the game and doing all the other miscellaneous achievements, check each entry and mark down any you haven't got to 100% and their location, then go around defeating them until the book is filled.

I have created a full Bestiary guide with locations and spawn conditions of all the common and unique enemies in the game. You can find that here.

By the end of the game, you may be missing one single creature - the Shadow of Bevelros. He may randomly appear at the Iron Outpost. You have the option to fight him or free him. If you free him, he will move to another dungeon, but will become stronger and, as far as I understand, will become a different creature. so make sure you kill him during your first encounter.

Also, to fill out the bestiary, you need to not only meet all the monsters in the game, but also kill the required number to show all the stats (hp, moves, etc.) It’s especially easy not to farm the monsters from the last dungeon

The shadows of heroes in Mana Rifts correspond to those heroes who came to their room, and not those who started the dungeon..
In order not to download all the heroes:
  • With the main team we clear the way to the room with the bosses (we don’t go into the room).
  • We go to the main menu.
  • Loading up.
  • Appear in front of the entrance to the Mana Rifts. In the continue/reset dungeon selection menu, it is possible to change the composition of the group without resetting the dungeon progress.
  • We change one character, continue the dungeon, beat the bosses.
  • We repeat.

https://www.trueachievements.com/a24...er-achievement - a complete list of monsters page by page (as they are in the game encyclopedia), very convenient, I couldn’t find some monsters - this hint helped, although it was not English

The spider mini-boss may also be missing.
For it to appear, you need to look carefully in the Excavation or Fanged Path dungeons when you find a miner’s diary stained with blood. You see 3 burning torches - put them out. They are always located next to the diary. Once you extinguish all three, a boss will appear - a huge spider.
By the way, rare mobs from dungeons can also be farmed in the arena.

If you, like me, missed the shadow of Beleros in the iron outpost, then you can meet him in the arena with endless enemies, he appears randomly, be patient

Regarding the shadows of heroes in the mana rift, the main thing is how to press “save and exit” after loading, DO NOT move away from the dungeon (do not accidentally press the stick), otherwise it will be reset and you will have to clear it again.

You can already leave, even run to the base to buy something, the dungeon will not reset.

Not a single clue before has provided complete information on Beleros. So, in the Iron Outpost there is a sarcophagus, if you don’t open it and fill the price, then the Shadow of Beleros will attack. We will need to go through this dungeon again, this time releasing the spirit without talking. Then we go to the Grave Watch, there we find Lord Beleros already in physical form. We fight and fill out the bestiary.
In the tip above, where there is a text guide to all creatures, #145 is missing. This is the lord we need.
