How to unlock the "And, they do windows!" achievement in Broken Age - Definitive Guide
This is a story-related trophy and is unmissable. Click on the spoiler below if you would like a step by step guide to getting this trophy.
Story Related, Unmissable.
This is in Shay Act 2. To get this trophy you need to have picked up the hexagon robot, the singing fish from the tree and have the crochet hook. You need to get wire to fix the little robot which Carol has by the beach. First show her the fish then the hook and she will give you the wire.
You then have to use the wire on the robot. At first, use the wire to connect the nodes in the order shown in the image below.
Once you have done this go back to Alex and use the robot in the charging station. You will see some lights appear. They appear in the order that they have been connected.
The first light will be the top.
Second light will be the top left node.
Third will be the bottom right node
Fourth will be the bottom node
Fifth will be the bottom left node
Sixth will be the top right node.
As you can see in the image below I have labelled each symbol to correspond with the numbers in the image above.
These nodes are random and change in each playthrough so write these down or take a picture and make sure you know which is which.
Now you need to connect these in the right order. You can find this by playing through Vella's Act 2 and finding the picture of Shay and his Family, which will have it, however the solution never changes, just the symbols for the nodes. Below is the solution, just look at the symbols on the left of the photo and try to recreate those symbols.
You need to repair the hexapal, which you will find on the shore at the very beginning of the act. A visual hint for repairs can only be obtained by completing the second act as Vella! But here's a screenshot In the game you will need a wire and a charging station in the room with Alex, in real life you will need a piece of paper and a pencil. Algorithm of actions:
- We show Carol the fish that we got from the tree.
- We show the crochet hook (with which we supposedly caught the fish) and express the hope that she will leave some fish in the pond. In exchange we get wire.
- Let's go to the room with Alex. We use the wire on the hexapal. You need to connect the nodes with three wires, so that when you place the hexapal in the charging station, you get a diagram like in the photo . When placing the hexagon into the charging station, the circuit will appear as a hologram. The blue wire is the first row, the yellow wire is the second row, the red wire is the third row. The left sign is the beginning of the node, the right sign is the end of the node. Each corner of the hexagon is indicated by a certain sign, and with each passage these signs change places. Therefore, first you need to understand which angle which sign represents. For this:
- We connect the nodes with wires in the following way (or any similar way to use all the nodes) to see on the diagram which sign corresponds to which angle. Draw a diagram of the hexagon and the corresponding signs in the corners on a piece of paper.
- Then we look at the photo and see how we need to connect the nodes to get such a diagram.
- We connect the nodes and insert them into the charging station.
