Objects that can be triggered at any time
1) Shay - "Gary is programmed not to grab his master. It is one of the primary rules of robotics."

3) Any of the Mom/Dad Orbs - "Gary doesn't want to grab that any more than I do."

Friendship Circle Mission - you can access this room again after meeting Marek

Achievements in this game are unreliable. I had unmissable story achievements fail to unlock on my first playthrough. Just failed to unlock this one too. Just gotta start over and try again I guess.

After get your present after walking outside the ship, go to the Ice Cream situation and open it. You'll get Gary. So at every possible situation, use it and hear an excuse why he isn't going to grab.

If you hear just the phrase: he won't grab that, that's not it. Use it in another thing until you're presented with an humorous reason why it isn't going to grab that. Repeat it 20 times.

I unlocked it before Phase 1 finishes.

Shay Act 1

This trophy is missable. You need to use Grabbin' Gary on 20 objects/persons and hear Shay give 20 different reasons as to why he can't use Gary on that object. You must get Gary during the fake missions at the start of the Act. If you wait until after you meet Marek, you will have missed too many opportunities to get the trophy. Apart from the Runaway Train mission, you can only complete each of the other three missions twice. I advise that you complete the following mission first.

To get Gary during the fake missions, select the Foreign Body mission. Walk to the right and press cn_X on the tentacled plant to receive a Present. You then need to use the Present on Shay to be able to open it and receive Grabbin' Gary. You can do this during the Avalanche or Friendship Circle missions when Shay is able to explore the room that he is in.

There are 24 unique reasons that you can hear. These are the objects that trigger them:

Do the responses from Marek's room not count?

There's:

Bed - "I wouldn't even make a robot grab that."

Creature containment - "I bet Garry WOULD be really good at grabbing helpless creatures. But these have already been grabbed."

The Creature Containment one will definitely count. I'll add that one to the list. I'm not sure about the bed because it doesn't mention Gary. I'll try it on another account.

MISSABLE

Shay - Act One

When you retrieve Grabbin' Gary from the plant out the air lock, use it from the menu on any interactable object in the scene and on the inventory items as you get them. To get this early on, when you are in the cockpit, select the foreign body option. 

The description says 20 but I had to interact with more than 20 items for this to unlock.

Do the space mission to get the gift. Open the gift to get Gary.

Try using Gary on everything. Eventually, this achievement will pop. Note that you should use Gary on your inventory items immediately upon acquiring them, as you will lose some of them over the course of the act.

Missable

This trophy can only be Obtained in Shay Act 1. To get this trophy you need to use the Grabbin' Gary item on different things and hear 20 different responses. This is quite difficult because there are a lot of things Gary doesn't want to grab, but not all of them count, even if the dialogue is a little different. I personally tried to use him on as many different things as I could but below are the list of things I used him on that got different dialogue before I got the trophy.

3) Controls in hug attack room (I just clicked on the first one next to the stairs)
4) Beanbag chair in the hug attack room
5) Creature in hug attack room
6) Trapped creatures during the avalanche mission

8) Empty bed in Shay's room
9) Mom/Dad's orb (any room) (I clicked on the one next to Shay's bed. It was at night and showing is sleeping father's face)
10) Vent in Shay's room before using wrench on it
11) Deflated Shay doll (in inventory)
12) Inflated Shay doll (in inventory)
13) Star tapestry used to travel to different planets
14) Knife (in inventory)
15) Bananas on the mountain (left of where knitted creatures are playing cards) in the avalanche room

There are two “collective” trophies in the game, I recommend killing two birds with one stone and combining their receipt:

"Gary Has His Reasons" - Listen to the reasons why Gary won't miss it.
"Are You Trying To Get Rid of Me?" - Listen to at least 30 Spoon reactions to various objects.

Since you need to beat the game twice to get platinum (the second time is a 1-hour speedrun), I recommend getting these trophies during your first playthrough, when you have no time limit and can complete all the conditions in a relaxed environment. All manipulations are done during the passage of Acts 1 and 2 when playing as Shey. Before receiving the trophies, I arranged all the interactions with Spoon and Gary so that they could be easily completed at once, without running back and forth.

ACT 1

Breakfast
During your first breakfast, don’t forget to get two trophies at once:
"Picky Eater"
"Is Something Wrong?"
(see tips for them).
After taking the spoon, before starting to eat, we begin to “poke” with the spoon:

To get Gary as quickly as possible, we go through Mom’s missions in the following order:

Fourth mission (in space)
We take a gift in this mission.

First mission (ice cream avalanche)
Let’s unpack the gift and start “using” Gary:

Gary - Banana and brownies on the left side of the mountain


Third mission

You can interrupt Mom’s series of toy tasks in the mission with the train, then you find yourself in your room.

After you use Marek's first star card, missions to rescue creatures will begin. Save your game before completing the first mission to avoid screwing up the Flawless Execution trophy. You need to save all the creatures without missing a single shot.

From the trophy room I went to the teleporter, then from the room with teleporters I went to the far part of the ship through the right teleport to the far part of the ship.

The trophy is easy to miss.
Done in the first act. It is necessary to hear 20 specific reactions of the Gary robot to surrounding objects and items in the inventory. There are 21 or 22 such objects in total and some of them are situational, so it is very easy to miss them and you will have to start over. Below is a list of most objects:
  • Shay
  • Empty bed
  • The circle of the screen where the computer appears
  • Screwdriver (inventory)
  • Ventilation shaft before the bolts are unscrewed
  • Deflated doll (inventory)
  • Inflated doll (inventory)
  • Spoon (inventory)
  • Knife (inventory)
  • Creatures stuck in ice cream during the first mission
  • Banana and cakes on the left side of the mountain in the first mission room
  • Ice cream car in the first mission room

Gary is the robot we receive as a gift during the fourth fun mission, the one in space. It is not necessary to do all the actions as described in the first tip; it is enough to do any 20 from this list

I was just testing all the new objects for interaction with the robot and the spoon.
The trophies dropped earlier than in the tips - there are probably other variants of phrases.

Print out the list and cross off the options you complete, it will be easier.

Basically they go in order. I had to spend a whole playthrough for this trophy and the trophy with the spoon and the joke with the tree.
