How to unlock the Hoarder achievement in Brotato - Definitive Guide
The best item I found to help with this is "piggy bank". Around level 10, you should have decent enough items/weapons so just keep saving and not spending. The 20% bonus really adds up. As with the other achievements. To make it easier, set things to 25%.

The character called Saver (2nd row, 2nd from left) starts with +15 Harvesting and a Piggy Bank. Not sure what is required to unlock him, but that's who I used. Was easy even without accessibility options.
Edit: A run with Explorer as described in the following link could also be used to easily get 3000 materials.

Wait, are materials the currency in this game?

There's 2 main methods for this to be done. The first is the piggy bank what is explained in a different guide so I wont mention it. The method I'm talking uses the Farmer.
Farmer method:
Character: Farmer (reach 200 harvesting to unlock)
Difficulty: any
Weapon: pruner
This method uses the farmers harvesting abilities to get the 3000 materials. The farmer has a 3% harvesting increase after each wave, while also getting +1 harvesting for each consumable while at full health. We pair this up with the pruner that spawns a garden that produces fruit (consumable) every 15 seconds (10 seconds when tier 4).
For upgrades, I went with attack speed, melee damage, armor, doge, hp regen, and damage. Harvesting I picked up whenever it was a good choice however I didn't go out of my way to get them.
You can start saving up whenever you wish but I started saving at wave 15, and I had about 800 harvesting, and got it by round 18. Finished round 20 with 1100 harvesting.
You do not need to pick up the fruit during the wave, at the end they all come to you and you will still get the harvesting for each one.

As the descriptions says, this achievement requires you to be holding 3000 materials at once in a run, meaning you'll need to save up and purposely not spending any materials in the shop for a number of waves.
I actually did this without any real issues on my second run. I already had four Tier IV weapons and good stats, so I purposely stopped spending materials around Wave 14, and I unlocked this achievement on Wave 19, just as a point of reference. There are, of course, items you could get to help with this, such as the item that gives you +20% of your current materials at the end of each wave, or Metal Detector, which gives you +5% chance to double materials collected. I didn't have either of those though, when I got this achievement, so they aren't required. Just get a good build going with solid weapons and DPS in the first ten waves, then save up at the end until you have this achievement. Then, feel free to spend it all in the shop to buff yourself before the final waves.
As a side note, obviously playing on Danger 0 means you can save up money without feeling like you aren't keeping up with enemy difficulty, but there are less enemies so you'll need to save for longer. Keep that in mind.
