How to unlock the Devoted Follower achievement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 - Definitive Guide

This achievement is quite straight-forward:
You need to survive 20 rounds without leaving spawn.

How you decide to do it, however, will either make it a breeze, or complicate things.

My suggestions:

- run it on casual difficulty
- feel free to run around the whole spawn area, even the part outside, as long as you remain within the "Temple of Apollo" as indicated on the top left of the screen (basically the whole area accessible initially)
- you actually need to reach round 21 for the cheevo to pop, so plan accordingly
- loadout: strife with knife attachment (wall buy available), wraith fire, scepter of ra
- I dit it solo myself, but it appears that you can do it with bots as long as you stay in the spawn area (see ref below)
- save your special ability until you really need it, as the new mini boss will spawn at around round 19-20

on the usage of bots, youtube user DairuzZ said (youtube.com/watch?v=TvkV-uqfZak):

Ive just done it in casual and with bots :D its alot easier and faster. They open the doors. Just dont left the temple and survive until the round 21

Did u get to round 21 without leaving spawn? Maybe cheevo got delayed and will pop later. Usually it is either one or the other

can confirm this can be done with 3 bots. just completed it and had no issues. i personally never left the starting area, bots opened all the doors but didn't effect anything

To make this easier, use a class with the MOG 12, then you can wall-buy the Strife for your second weapon.
With the stiletto knife on the Strife, the first 10 rounds or so are very easy, and the MOG comes in handy if you get trapped and for later rounds.

You must complete 20 rounds in the starting area, meaning you cannot open any of the doors.
You cannot use bots because they will buy the doors and run all over, thereby, voiding the achievement for you.

Inside the temple is a small place to work with and you can easily get pinned. So, I found it easier to run small circles in the back of the temple by the strife wall buy. Here its a rectangle shape and no obstacles or turns to get caught on.

Loadout: MOG12 with dragon breath (you can only refill ammo with a max ammo) This gun will make an excellent backup for the strife which you can buy off the wall. Wraith grenades and choose the special of your preference. I used the Hammer, for me this one drops the bosses quicker. Also, waves 1 - 12 are very easy so it is beneficial to use your special every chance you get in the beginning to level it up to 3.

The key to making this easier is the bubblegums. Burned out, Equip mint, Dead of nuclear winter, Kill joy, and Undead man walking are very useful. On waves 15 - 20, I started each round by running circles and then popping a nuke. This seemed to make a slower spawn in after the nuke, unlike the flood at the start of each wave. I didn't need any other gums after this but the other gums are available if needed.

If you are still having trouble, the only other thing I could suggest is Wall power bubblegum, to buy a packed a punch strife. You will have a ton of money so ammo refills should not be an issue.

In Ancient Evil, survive the first 20 rounds without leaving the interior of the Temple of Apollo

This achievement can be done a few ways, I recommend doing it solo as bots & randoms will mess it up. All you need to do is survive 20 rounds in the starting area. just do not buy any doors and you will be fine. This video shows the fastest way to unlock this achievement. If you have any questions just ask.

This is probably the most difficult 'first 20 rounds' achievement so far as there is no way to get anything other than your starting weapon, the Strife or the Essex Model without the use of Elixirs since you’re not allowed to open any doors. Not to mention, the starting area is pretty tight. If you have it, use the MOG or Saug as your starting weapon and Wraith Fires as your equipment. While there is limited space, you should have enough room to make loops around the available area. You'll also need to make the most of your Special Weapon, get as many zombies on screen as you can before you use it to maximise your kills with it. Also helpful is the Strife if you have the Stiletto Knife attachment as it can help save a bunch of ammo.

Equip Mint and Arsenal Accelerator are good classic elixirs as they'll speed up your equipment and Special Weapon charge respectively. If you have it, Wall Power is useful as you can obtain a Pack-a-Punched Strife. There are other useful premium elixirs but I won't go into all of them. As for Talismans, there are ones that give you an Assault Rifle or LMG as a starter weapon which can be useful.

However you do it, once you hit round 21 without leaving the starting area, the achievement will unlock.

It can be done on a low difficulty level without any problems.
