How to unlock the Holding all the Cards achievement in Castlevania Advance Collection - Definitive Guide

To open up Magician Mode, first beat the game. In the credits, it will tell you to start a new game with the name FIREBALL.

In this mode, you have 70% STR, 50% HP and DEF, but 400% INT and MP and every DSS card. If you haven't collected them all in the base game, die to the first enemy you see, then use Rewind (cn_RT + cn_left) to go back to before you died and the achievement will unlock.

Useful combinations to get used to are under the spoiler, followed by more importantly, the boss strategies.


BOSS STRATEGIES

Cerberus - Diana/Griffin. One shot with the projectile will kill him.

Necromancer - Diana/Griffin. Two shots will kill the first form, one shot kills the second form.

Iron Golem - Diana/Griffin. Depending on level, takes six or seven shots. Remember to jump when he falls over and avoid the falling gears. If he gets close enough where you can whip him, back up; you lose all the damage if you hit with the whip.

Adramelech - Tired of Diana/Griffin? This is the last use. Stay by the walls and use the projectile from the edge. If you've been rushing, you'll likely run out of MP before killing this boss. Either stick to the edge and let natural regeneration happen, or use a Mind Restore if you've got one.

Zombie Dragons - Uranus/Cockatrice. Stand on the platform between them and repeatedly summon. If you take damage, switch to Uranus/Unicorn to heal up and continue. Due to the nature of the summon, the right zombie will die first.

Death 1 - Uranus/Cockatrice. Clears the scythes and deals decent damage. Rewind to before the summon and adjust position if you get sniped by a scythe while coming out of it.

Death 2 - Uranus/Thunderbird. Most of Cockatrice's projectiles miss on the second form, so switch it up here. You could also use Diana/Griffin or Diana/Unicorn here, though you'd need to keep him more on screen and deal with the extra gravity debuff.

Camilla - Diana/Griffin. A good shot will hit her twice, stick to the platforms or the doorway. Be prepared to do a whip swing by holding Attack in case the bubbles start pushing you out.

Fast method: Uranus/Thunderbird. Double jump over his head and activate the summon. When you come out of it, do a Roc Wing jump (cn_up+cn_RB) and stay juggled in the air to continually rain lightning.
Slow method: If underleveled, Neptune/Unicorn will absorb all attacks except the holy water. Get close to him and jump when he prepares to swing his sword, then whip on the way down. If you run out of MP, Roc Wing to the highest platforms and regen or use an item there.

Dracula 1 - Uranus/Cockatrice. Get the timing right and you can pummel him with rocks while being invincible through his attacks.

Dracula 2 - Uranus/Thunderbird. If you have a cross, throw one before entering the summon animation, but the summon animation will protect you through all of his attacks.

Dracula 3 - Uranus/Thunderbird. Use Roc Wing to avoid his charges, then get two summons off when the eyeball shows up. If you're at a high level (45+) Diana/Unicorn will home in and deal excellent damage.

Followed this guide. Worked pretty well. I literally just speed ran to all the bosses. Got into the final fight at level 35. Finished the game at level 37 I think after I got two levels from killing Dracula. I figured the time I'd spend leveling up could just go towards a longer fight with a weaker character.

Uranus/Thunderbird are better for Camilia in my experience. You can just spam that move and she dies after like 5 or 6 of them even if you are in the low 30s. No aiming required and you are invulnerable the whole time.

Also worth mentioning: you can increase the power of a summon by hitting menu as soon as you've executed the summon button sequence, changing your DSS cards to Mars and Black Dog, and then returning to the game. Works similarly to the glitch for activating a DSS combination before you have the necessary cards.

To play in Magician Mode, you have to beat the game once. Once you have done this, on a different save slot, enter the name FIREBALL. This give you all the cards.

In Magician Mode you have very high MP and Intelligence but low Strength, Defense, and HP. A very helpful combination of cards I used most of the time is Uranus and Thunderbird which is a summon spell. To use a summon spell first press cn_LB to activate it and then enter the button combination cn_downcn_downrightcn_rightcn_uprightcn_up and the attack button. This summon will kill pretty much everything on screen and is very helpful against bosses. Mars and Unicorn works well also, as it gives you a powerful sword with a long range.

Now just beat the game again.

To complete this mode you need to kill all the bosses.

Pluto+Unicorn=Invulnerability
We use invulnerability to reach upgrades and bosses. In this combination of magic, mobs will not damage. And since in this mode, increased intelligence, magic will last for a long time. To make it easier, collect upgrades that come across on the way. While invulnerability is active, you cannot apply damage to candles, walls, mobs, bosses and raise upgrades. disable it to interact with them
Pluto+black dog= Skeleton
Turns you into a skeleton that throws a bone that deals 1 point of damage, but periodically the chance to throw a large bone is triggered which will one-shot any mob and some bosses. On the last bosses it deals a lot of damage to them. The skeleton dies from one hit when damaged by mobs
How I completed this mode in a couple of hours
In invulnerability, he collected available upgrades, ran to the boss, took a comfortable position on the boss and turned into a skeleton, spammed bones until a large bone flew out. The first bosses were one-shotted by the bone. starting from boss 3, you had to hit the boss several times. If the boss one-shots, use rewind time
