How to unlock the Shut up, Simon! achievement in Chaos on Deponia - Definitive Guide

This achievement is missable and can be gotten at the Platypus Bataka minigame.

The achievement description is a little bit misleading.
You can use the Training Dummy at least once to get used on how to fight, just don't overuse it to get completely skilled. (max four times, the fifth will max out - afaik)
I used the Dummy once and still got the achievement. (Flawless Victory! ... on 2nd attempt :D)

To get the cheevo you have to act quick as there is a timer in form of a red "clock" in the middle of the stage and you have to move the rectangle like box to either Head, Torso or Legs to protect the targeted area.
To see which part of the body is targeted watch out for the arm of Goal in which direction she's pointing.

To unleash your platypus wrath you have to - after a successful defense - watch out for which part of the body Goal is protecting (one with the stick, one with her arm) and go for the unprotected part.

You have to this like six or seven times, depending on how much you've skilled even less.

I hope the Guide is useful and well to understand, as English is not my mother tongue :D

Happy hunting!

Edit: To see the Dummy you have to loose, of course. I do think that the first encounter is scripted and you will automatically loose - this has to be explored deeper (as I do not intend to play the game again :D)

When you lose a fight of platypus bataka against Spunky Goal, you'll land in a training area with a training doll. Don't use that training doll to improve your skills!

After you have beaten Goal, you'll get the achievement.

You have to beat Spunky Goal in the arena without using the training dummy
(the training dummy appears after you lose the first fight with Goal)

I have heard that you can use the training dummy once or twice but I never did, you can beat her without using the dummy. You can even beat her before the training dummy even appears in the arena if you're good enough

Story-related and cannot be missed (?)

In Act II, you must win a round of Platypus Bataka against Spunky Goal. Basically, pay attention to where Goal's hand is pointing – that's where she's going to attack and where you need to block. After you've successfully blocked, Goal will defend and you have a window to counter-attack – attack the area she's not blocking with her stick or arm. After getting Goal down to her final hit, she will come at you with 4-5 attacks in a row (you will not be able to counter-attack after any of them). Survive those and you'll be good to go.

Whenever you lose against Spunky Goal, you will be in front of a training dummy. Theoretically, you will void the trophy if you use this dummy (this was the case in the original PC version of the game) but I used it to level up twice and still unlocked the trophy so maybe it refers to fully maxing Rufus' combat level? To start the fight again, click the door in the background ("to the fight") to try again.

Goal's attack and defense patterns are randomized between fights but the video below will show you what she looks like in each of her attack and defense positions so you will know what to do.

You just need to defeat Goal in Platypus Fights without training on a dummy. It doesn't matter how many times you lose the fight, just don't use the training dummy that becomes available after the first loss.

In principle, there is nothing complicated in the battle, the main thing is to understand when and where to block, as well as where to hit. The principle is simple - first choose where to hit/what to block, then confirm by clicking on . Enough time is given, the main thing is not to rush.

Always look at what Goal is doing and choose your next actions based on this. If you chose correctly, Goal attacks and you block; if you chose incorrectly, she also attacks and breaks the block. From time to time, Goal can attack 2 or 3 times in a row, so don't relax.

Everything is very transparent with protection:
  • Goal keep your hand on top - protect your head.
  • Goal keep your hand centered - protect your torso.
  • Goal keep your hand down – protect your legs.
With the attack, everything is a little more complicated:
  • If Goal puts his bat down, hit him on the head.
  • If Goal raises his hand up and holds the bat at an angle, hit him in the torso.
  • If Goal holds the bat vertically, hit his legs.

As I understand it, you can train, just not reach 5 bonuses. I had 2 and they gave me a prize.

I got it about the fifth time, after completing the training.

The battle began without any training. I lost to her 25 times, but still got the trophy.
You need to press the button in time to attack and to defend.
Protection:
- Goal’s hand is up – we protect our head
- Goal’s hand in the center – we protect our body
- Goal’s hand is down – protecting our legs
Attack:
- When Goal holds the bat vertically, hit the legs
- When Goal puts the bat down, hit the head
- When Goal raises his hand up and holds the bat at an angle, hit the chest.
After hitting Rufus once, Goal has the option to hit Rufus in the groin, thereby winning the battle.
Be very careful, she does this often. It happens that it hits the lower level once, and then immediately (almost without a pause) in the groin.
When you hit Goal ~7 times, she will go into high aggressive mode and hit ~5 times in a row, often targeting the groin.
If you stand in this line, you will automatically win.
