How to unlock the Black Belt achievement in Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues - Definitive Guide
I want to preface this by saying I HIGHLY recommend making a checklist of all challenges on all belts that you can refer back to outside the dojo. If you're going for a full completion, you'll end up replaying most levels to get S rank for a collectible anyway, but keeping a reference handy will cut down on additional runthroughs.
Karate Challenges are specific goals that, as you complete them, will give you coins towards upgrading your characters. At the end of each level, you'll be taken back to your dojo where you can check on your progress and claim any finished challenges.
If you play through both campaigns on a single save, any progress from the first campaign will transfer over to the second campaign. Keep in mind that this achievement has one challenge with a character and situation specific requirement that depending on which dojo you start with, you'll only get one shot at. The list of challenges for this belt are as follows:
Karate Instinct - Get 120 Hits in a Single Combo
(Simply land hits without getting hit yourself. As long as you mix in Skills and stay on the move, you shouldn't have much issue completing this. I would say that depending on how strong your attacks are, you may have a tougher time having enemies stick around long enough to land this many hits. This particular challenge glitched on me and awarded it long before I was able to keep a combo going to 120 hits, so you may get lucky with it as well. If you're having difficulty keeping a combo going, try it on one of the later levels as the enemies have larger health bars as the game progresses.
This is the same as the No Mercy achievement:)
34 Years Later - Beat Johnny with Daniel's Crane Kick
(Johnny is the final boss of the Valley Fest level. You can wail on him with any other characters you like, but the finishing blow must be Daniel's Crane Kick, his Ultimate attack. If you don't have an Ultimate attack ready to go, ignore Johnny and attack his infinitely spawning students until the attack is charged. Get Johnny down to a little more than a sliver of health, then line up with him and while facing him press + together. It is important to note that you CAN MISS with this attack if you're not facing him or if you're too far out of position with him either north or south. While the attack can hit him offscreen, it doesn't hurt to wait until he's on screen.
One other thing to keep in mind is that if you start your first playthrough as Miyagi-Do, you only get one shot at doing this. Once Johnny is down, the first playthrough is permanently locked out on this save, meaning you can't go back and try again. If Miyagi-Do is your second playthrough, you can select Continue from the main menu and load up the final level again.
In addition to completing this Challenge, beating Johnny with Daniel will fulfill another Challenge towards unlocking the Brown Belt achievement:)
Karate is for Defense - Finish all enemies in a mission with throws (Grab or Parry)
(Any level will work for this, but as always I recommend using the Addison St level simply because the enemies are easier to manage. Parries are performed when you stand facing an enemy and press . When an enemy uses a charged attack, they will glow red. Any parried "red" attacks will result in automatic throw damage. Some enemies will even be pitched towards the screen depending on the type of enemy or how low their health is.
Grab throws are performed by grabbing an enemy and pressing . Even though the throw animation may include a punch or other strike, as long as you are ONLY pressing , you're good to go. Normally, you can strike an enemy to stun them before you grab them, but any attack other than a throw will void this Challenge and you'll have to start over. Since the earlier enemies are mostly passive, I just walked back and forth through them until a grab occurred, then I threw them. If you can catch them in a "red" attack, it will speed things along considerably.
In addition, once they are on the ground, you can walk up to their legs and press for a spinning throw. Be sure to be at their legs and only press . If you're moving while pressing there's a chance your character will kick the enemy while he/she is down instead. EDIT: Some users have reported that the throw was preventing them from getting the achievement, so if you're running into issues, stick to only using - thank you to StumblesMcGee for the update!)
Challenge Accepted - Complete 50 Challenges
(There are 87 total challenges and you have to complete them all if you're going for all the game's achievements. This will unlock over time naturally as you play.)

I'm not sure if anyone else struggled with the Karate is for Defense challenge like I did, but I went through Addison St on several occasions using only grabs and parries to no avail. I tried it on a different level and made sure to avoid using the spinning throw (LB) when enemies were on the ground and that seemed to do the trick. I just wanted to put that out there in the event that anyone else was having trouble getting this to unlock.
