How to unlock the Mastermind achievement in Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues - Definitive Guide
Kreese is the true final story boss and is only available after finishing playthroughs with both dojos on the same save. Kreese's moves and attacks are a mix of different Cobra Kai Dojo, Personal, and Ultimate attacks. As the fight goes on, he adds progressively more powerful attacks, some of which have huge areas of effect (including one highly recognizable flying attack to fans of the Street Fighter series).
You get access to only Johnny and Daniel for this fight. While Kreese is no pushover and has some attacks that will take half your life bar, he is easily managed if you are patient and pick your shots. By this point in the game, you should be great friends with dodge rolling {left stick in any direction and ) and using Dojo/Ultimate Skills to get out of danger where needed.
When the fight starts, there will be four food items in the arena, two large and two medium. Try to keep these available until the character needing it is on death's door if you can. If one of your characters fall, you likely will not get them back as maintaining a combo long enough to get to B rank will be almost impossible. If you end up dying and restarting, I would suggest leading with the character you're weaker with so as not to get put in a difficult situation. In addition, don't forget the ability to switch between characters if one is getting banged up. I may have been seeing it wrong, but I'm pretty sure my "tagged out" character got a decent chunk of their health back if they stayed on the bench for a bit. Lastly, Daniel's Personal Parry Skill (+) will give him about an eighth of his health back. The cooldown on this varies from 20-40 seconds, depending on how many upgrades you purchase for it and which upgrade path you take for this skill.
The fight itself has an interesting mechanic in which certain types of attacks become useless after they are used a set number of times. Thankfully, Kreese is nice enough to let you know when they stop working. A dialogue bubble will appear above his head, mocking you for using a certain attack i.e. punches. This type of attack is no longer effective and won't even show a 0 point damage indicator when hitting Kreese with it. Once punches and kicks have been singled out, look near the top of the arena for a few baseball bats to unload on him with.
Once you get Kreese's health low enough, he will essentially set one wide strip of the floor ablaze with purple fire that will stay burning for the remainder of the fight. You will take damage while in this section of the floor, so if you have to walk through them, dodge rolls are your friend. Right after you take him all the way down to zero health, he will get a little health back and proceed to go super saiyan, relentlessly launching attack after attack. At this point, none of your attacks will damage him - you basically just have to survive. He also gains a new dive bomb attack. Kreese will jump off screen and a target will appear on the floor. This target will track your character for a short while, then will change color to indicate the attack is imminent. That's your cue to roll out of the way to avoid getting hit. I did this about two-three times and Kreese finally fell, revealing the true story ending.
One final note - during this battle, you will likely fill your Ultimate meter at least twice. If you use Daniel's Ultimate on Kreese at any point during this fight and it connects, you'll also get the Crane Justice achievement.:
