How to unlock the White Belt achievement in Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues - Definitive Guide
I want to preface this by saying I HIGHLY recommend making a checklist of all challenges on all belts that you can refer back to outside the dojo. If you're going for a full completion, you'll end up replaying most levels to get S rank for a collectible anyway, but keeping a reference handy will cut down on additional runthroughs.
Karate Challenges are specific goals that, as you complete them, will give you coins towards upgrading your characters. At the end of each level, you'll be taken back to your dojo where you can check on your progress and claim any finished challenges. Most of the White Belt challenges will come naturally as you play but a few may need to be concentrated on depending on your play style.
If you play through both campaigns on a single save, any progress from the first campaign will transfer over to the second campaign. The list of challenges for this belt are as follows:
My Dojo - Finish 10 enemies with any Dojo Skill
(Hold , then press , , , or to attack, must be the finishing hit or an effect of the finishing hit)
My Karate - Finish 10 enemies with any Personal Skill
(Hold , then press , , or to attack, same as My Dojo)
Can't Touch Me - Finish 5 enemies without being hit
(Any hit that depletes life will break this streak, including parries that cause damage. This should come naturally as you progress through the game)
Karate Power - Finish 15 enemies with any Ultimate
(Press and at the same time, this charges as you defeat enemies, meter is your dojo's emblem in the bottom left corner of the screen)
On the Ground - Finish 3 enemies with ground attacks
(After knocking down an enemy, stand over them and press to get on top of them, then keep pressing for a ground combo - you have to defeat the enemy with one of those combo hits for it to count)
Get Over There - Finish 10 enemies with throws
(Punch or kick an enemy once to stun them, then move into them to grab, throw is performed by pressing while holding - the throw must defeat the enemy to count)
Specialist - Finish 3 enemies with Special Moves
(Special Moves are any attacks while holding down or , you will get this on the way to My Dojo/My Karate)
Karate is for Defense - Parry enemies 5 times
(Stand still and press to parry before an enemy attacks, parry has a cooldown so timing is important)
Turkey - Knock down 30 enemies with other enemies
(When an enemy is on the ground, press at their feet and you'll pick them up and swing them around. I believe this also counts if you throw an enemy into another one, should come naturally during gameplay)
Starting Out - Reach Combo Meter C 5 times
(Should come naturally, just attack enemies without being hit to raise your combo meter. The combo grade will rise faster if you alternate between kicks and punches as well as standard and special attacks. Compared to everything else in the game, the cooldown timer before your combo meter resets is pretty generous and as long as you register a hit on someone you can keep a combo going for a while)
Apprentice - Reach Combo Meter B 2 times
(Same as Starting Out, B is the next level above C. Any B combos will also count for C as well so no need to stop at C, cooldown, and then do the B combo)
Jackie Style - Use Environment Attacks 5 times
(In almost all levels, you'll see objects flashing green - stand next to these and press when an enemy is nearby to smash them into said object)
Think Fast - Throw objects at enemies 5 times
(Pick up throwable objects like bottles, cans, wrenches, etc by standing over them and pressing , then throw them at enemies with )
My Turn - Swap characters and hit an enemy with the entry attack
(The directional pad allows you to swap characters. Just be near an enemy and swap characters - this should come naturally as you play but be aware there is a cooldown between character swaps)
Turtles Style - Throw an enemy at the screen with a Parry move
(Some enemies will turn red right before they attack, hold to parry the incoming attack. Easiest done with the security guards but can be done with almost any enemy low enough on health. There is also an associated achievement:)
Tasty - Eat all three types of food
(Stand over any food item and press , you'll likely get this by the end of the first or second level)
As a side note, I've found some of the challenge counters will either reset to 0 at the end of the level or only show your x/y score from the previous level, then reset when you go into the next one. On my playthroughs this seemed to happen to random challenges on different belts. If you find one the challenges is not progressing, try to fulfill all the requirements for it on a single level. I recommend the longer story progression level (larger icons on the map) as it will give you plenty of cannon fodder to work with.
