How to unlock the Arachnophobia achievement in Cyberpunk 2077 - Definitive Guide

This is not missable - it is part of the opening chapters of the Phantom Liberty Expansion.

The Chimera is a large spider like mech that you will have to fight.

There is plenty of weaponry, ammo, MG’s & hackable turrets to help you fight back.

Shooting exposed parts on the legs can do good damage.
Quickhacks can also do some good damage assuming you have high level hacks equipped on your cyberdeck.

The Chimera will deploy some healing drones after a while. They’re easy to destroy but don’t leave them alive too long as they will fully heal the Chimera if you let them.

When you defeat the Chimera the achievement will pop.
The Chimera will also drop a Chimera Core on the ground near where it died. Looks like a glowing ball, you can pick that up for later use.

Story-related, cannot miss.

Shortly after unlocking All the President's Men (35G), and completing “Hole in the Sky,” you’ll embark on the next main story mission, “Spider and the Fly.”

At this point in the story you’re still locked into the narrative path, and once you make it through the Expo Center and survive the ambush, you’ll have a sequence involving the Chimera - a massive 4-legged spider-tank.

After a bit of a chase scene you’ll do battle with the Chimera itself. Defeat it, and this achievement is yours - and the “Spider and Fly” main quest is done.

If you’re looking for some tips for the Chimera battle, then stick to the below and you’ll be golden:

  • Scan it with your Cyberware to mark the Chimera’s weakpoints in yellow.
  • Grenades are handy if you want do damage to more than one weakpoint at a time (why wouldn't you?).
  • Use Overheat and Short Circuit quickhacks on it for decent damage.
  • Always strafe and fire - and you should avoid most of its projectiles this way.
  • Use dodge to the side to get out of the way of its rockets in the last phase.
  • Hide behind cover when it whips its laser beam out.
  • There’s ammo in pretty much every corner of the upstairs walkway around the edge of the map.
  • Rip the guns off the turrets (for the Mk.31 HMG) and use them to your advantage.
  • Take out the repair drones with Short Circuit as soon as they spawn.

The boss is difficult. Killed him on a new character and with the maximum level.
We recommend: Smart weapon, “Dash” skill line (not maximum), Sandevestan (If the build requires another brain implant, it is not worth installing)
First phase:
In the first phase, the Chimera attacks with a turret, missiles and a laser.
Use a smart gun to shoot at weak spots, or upgrade your perk to
called "Vulnerability Analysis"
Hit all the places, when you destroy all the weak points, there will be a transition to the second phase.
Transition to the second phase:
There will be a lot of drones here. Try to ignore them, kill them if necessary. Your target is “Repair Drones”, they have a lot of HP, this is where Sandevistan will help. While it is active, shoot with everything you have at the repair drones. Once you eliminate them, there will be a second phase.
Second phase:
The longest. Of all the attacks there will be only one new one, gas. The Chimera can attack with gas, which at the Lower level will cause damage. Try to stay on top. Your task is simply to attack. Don't take the machine gun from the turrets. You won't be able to dodge missiles.
Dash away from all attacks. Beat him until he dies.

Overall it was easy. He was a netrunner with a smart weapon. Bombed her with scripts and a machine gun pistol that fired bullets with an energy effect (Some kind of legendary gun). I play on a high difficulty level.
