How to unlock the Hero achievement in Dark Sector - Definitive Guide

Nearly the only way to achieve this is by boosting because it requires at least 4 people. Set the kill limit to 100 and time to the max. The Infected simply camps the spawn while the humans go do something else. When the infected gets to 97 one of the humans kills him. Never go to 99 becuase the infected can get a point from being killed or something. Anyway repeat until the last person goes and have him end the match.

Note: it is important that the infected pays attention to how many points he has and doesnt end the game b4 everone has gone.

Does anyone know why you sometimes get an extra point when you are at 99 points and get killed?

It gives you an assist for your own death sometimes.

How much time does it take to boost this achievement?

As it is very fast to set up a new in-game lobby, it makes more sense to have one person get the entire 100 points and then cycle through. This method also limits any impacts disconnections or freezing might have and has the added benefit of making it easy to keep track of your total points earned.

I agree with mfeforever that is a much more safe way to boost (in case of connection drop outs).

Respectfully you guys (mfeforever and sm182) have no clue what you are talking about. It is way faster to rotate the players in the match. Believe it or not as of 7/20/13 there are still a couple randoms here to make it a little more difficult. Also do the math.

If it takes two minutes (very generous) to do each match and you have four people to cycle through that is at least 80 games. That is three hours and twenty minutes (3:20) that you have wasted setting up games. Plus everyone has to make sure that they are there every ten minutes.

Even if you are "double boxing" it like a lot of people do you are looking at about an hour and a half (1:30). So in this time watching loading screens and getting everyone in to ready up to start the game you could have easily used that time to complete a few games of rotating in all four players in the same match.... I am doing it right now and believe me you do not want to add an extra crap-ton of boosting,

Well since the load time is minimal compared to the potential game time lost. Proper risk management to mitigate lost time for connection issues, power outages, etc. says it is a good investment of time. Never claimed it was the absolute fastest, but likely so as someone is bound to have issues.
That is the wonderful about site like this people can make their own choices!

Have the host (the one with the best connection) set up a 'Ranked Infection' match on 'Mausoleum'. You need a minimum of 4 and maximum of 10 players to do this, but we found 5 or 6 to be preferable. Set the kill limit to 100 and time to 30 mins.

The person going first should join the match last to start as the Infected, use the refresh option on the custom match search to ensure this.

Run straight across the map to the human spawn and ignite your Glaive with the fire beacon. The humans should huddle together, then the Infected can kill them all in one fire burst, either up close with cn_RSc or throw the Glaive (hold cn_LT, throw with cn_RT then burst with cn_RSc). Repeat.

You can either go for the full 100 and restart a new match, or go to 95 then the next player kill the Infected to become infected and go to 95 until everyone has had their turn.

This method is at least 2 minutes faster per match than Court, Deck or any other map.

Big thank you to jammiejay85, BiG Neilbug and evilqpa for helping me discover the fastest and most efficient way to boost this.

+1 Works faster. Recorded 5 minute rounds with 4 plus people. Right clicking the glaive is faster if the spawners are huddling as they spawn, into the middle where the two giant doors are. The explosion is large enough to kill almost everyone. Also if people are not sure where to huddle, the middle landing just before the stairs is perfect.

It's crutial to wait until the counter runs down and then leave, also the host always leaves last, just to be on the safe side.

Infected players are worth 3 points per kill and normal hazmat players are worth 1 point each. You also get 1 point for downing the Infected player. This gametype requires four players to begin.

The best way to boost this is have the infected player grab a shotgun and stand at the enemy spawn on Court. They only spawn to the left or right of this section so you can kill them almost instantly when they spawn. Taking turns with four players you will net about 100 points every 45 minutes. Setup a 60-min match and have one person get 95-98, then the next, then the next and the last person can finish to 100. Rotate who gets 100 to be fair.

You could just play the game for real, of course.
