How to unlock the Covenant: Mound-makers achievement in DARK SOULS III - Definitive Guide

This covenant can be discovered in the Undead Settlement.

If you haven't yet killed the Curse-rotted Greatwood:
From the Undead Settlement bonfire, work your way through the building and out into the open, then cross a bridge on the right. Break some barrels to go around the right side of the building and then climb a ladder to get onto the rooftops. Go right along the roof and drop down into a small area where a large enemy with a cage on his back is patrolling.

Approach him from behind and there will be a prompt to press "A." Do so to enter the cage and get transported to another area. Once you arrive, talk to Holy Knight Hodrick and you'll "discover" the covenant.

If you have already killed the Curse-rotted Greatwood, then the only way to discover this covenant in your current playthrough is through Sirris of the Sunless Realms' questline. Meet her in Firelink after talking to Anri at the Halfway Keep bonfire. Meet her again in Firelink after returning the Dreamchaser's Ashes to the Handmaid (found near the Old Wolf of Farron bonfire). Then use her summon sign on the bridge at the beginning of Ithiryll of the Boreal Valley and defeat Creighton. Finally, use her summon sign outside the Curse-rotted Greatwood boss area, defeat Holy Knight Hodrick, and you'll discover the covenant. Note that joining Rosaria's Fingers ends Sirris' questline.

I'm playing in the US on the JA download, and don't see the summon sign. I'll assume it is due to the servers not being turned on for us yet. Accidentally attacked the cage at first, whoops!

So basically if you've beaten Curse-Rotted and joined Rosaria's covenant you're screwed?

Shit, well this game does have 4 different endings, 3 of which are obviously achievement related so, no big deal. Great guide none-the-less, + 1 from me toast

Ok, just to clear up any confusion. You can get the achievement for Rosaria's Fingers covenant, which means saying yes to joining when asked, however, equipping the Rosaria's Fingers covenant item or giving Rosaria any Pale Tongues is the only way to be excluded from Sirris' questline.

While mopping up misc stuff before NG+, I joined Rosaria's Covenant post end boss, and then the Mound Maker's Covenant with no recourse... I did NOT equip Rosaria's covenant item or offered her any pale tongues and Sirris' summoning sign was at the Curse-Rotted entrance.

To join the Mound-Makers, you need to join before you challenge the Curse-rotted Greatwood. Start by going to the Undead Settlement bonfire. Walk past the rooftops with the Hollow Slaves and drop down. You will find an enemy with a cage on its back. Examine the cage to be teleported to the Mound-Makers covenant area.

If Curse-Rotted Greatwood is dead then go to the entrance of the boss room after having defeated 3 Lords of Cinder. There you can activate the summoning sign of Sirris of the Sunless Realms and join in cooperation. If successful, you will acquire the covenant. You must not have turned Sirris hostile towards you.

MUST BE DONE BEFORE KILLING THE ROTTING GREATWOOD.

From the second bonfire in the Undead Settlement head forward and through the building, then on the other side head forward and then right over the stone bridge. Kill the two enemies that rush you and go to the right of the building they came out of and up the path, watch out for ambushing thralls here. Head up the ladder at the end and over the roof to your right to drop down behind a large cage carrying enemy. Sneak up behind him and interact with him to be taken to the Covenant.

If you killed the Greatwood before doing this you can speak to Sirris when she shows up in Firelink. Then cross the bridge to Irithyll and kill the wolf beast that attacks you there. Rest at the first bonfire at the end of the bridge and go back to where you fought the wolf to find Sirris; summon sign. Use it and help her beat the phantom. Then progress and kill Aldritch. After he is dead go back to the room before the Greatwood boss to find her sign again, help her hill another enemy to gain access to the Covenant that way.

You need to get this Covenant to Rank 2 in order to acquire a unique spell, which requires 30 Vertebrae Shackles. You get them by killing other phantoms/hosts as a member or farming the Red Eyed Skeleton enemies in Catacombs of Carthus. Spawn at the Catacombs of Carthus bonfire, go straight and then right (watch the skeleton boulder here) then take the next door on the left – there are two skeleton swordsmen in the next corridor. The drop rate is roughly one in thirty if you have the Symbol of Avarice, Golden Covetous Serpent Ring and use a Rusted Coin.

You can join this covenant already in the second location “Undead Village” , after you defeat the second boss Vordt from Cold Valley .

Moreover, this must be done before defeating the “Cursed Great Tree” boss. Since after killing the boss this covenant will become unavailable.

However, if you suddenly missed it, there is always NG+. Moreover, you will have to go through the game more than once.

Covenant location

Use a white crayon or a red eye to invade someone else's world and defeat the host. It doesn’t matter who kills him, you will receive the covenant sign.
The phantom color is purple.

For 10 medals you get a weapon - "Bloodlust/Blood Madness" katana
For 30 medals you get the Spell - "Warmth" (pyromancy)

Farming covenant badges.

You can farm covent badges with a friend of any level and any ng+, but only with a password, it doesn’t matter if the boss is killed or not, for 2 the location Anor Lonro the first fire is excellent (it’s better when the boss is killed if you don’t want to see other invaders) , in principle, you can farm there at 3!
The method is simple, put a summon sign (red, if the boss is killed, you can only summon one dark spirit) or a white chalk if there are 3 of you! when the owner of the coals summons 1 or 2 crazy phantoms, he can calmly jump off the bridge, farming icons will go to the crazy phantoms, after that it’s the other way around, everything is farmed very quickly!

Addition to my previous addition: Leveling up at least one level of the “Fingers of Rosaria” covenant automatically eliminates the possibility of completing the Sirris quest.
DGenius did not understand the essence of the danger of the "fingers of Rosaria" covenant for the Sirris questline. YOU CAN join the covenant! You cannot be a member of it at the time of the conversation with Sirris, you cannot pump up devotion levels in it, you CAN use it and invade other people’s worlds (but DO NOT give Rosaria the tongues until Sirris’ quest is completed). I have verified this from my own experience: if you increase the level of the covenant and are not a member of it, Sirris will be offended and refuse to continue being friends. You'll have to kill her for another quest - along Lockhart's line.

After entering "Fingers of the Rosary" the sign of Siris is still in place. So, you can join the covenant both after killing the Deacons and while completing the quest lines of Siegward and Patches.

You need to climb into a cage on the back of a mob when you are alone in your world. Also, randoms often kill the desired mob and you have to reset the location at the fire.

It is best to farm with a friend in a location where there are cliffs, he calls you, you appear, he is thrown off the mountain, and so on until you collect a tedious number of shackles.

There was an error in the previous tip - the covenant remains available after the death of the tree with the eggs. But entry requires fulfilling a completely different condition. You need to complete the questline Sirris (a girl in a white charm from Firelink who hates the Fingers of Rosaria covenant). Do not talk to her for anything while you are a member of the Fingers of the Rosary, otherwise the quest will be failed and then you will definitely only have to wait until NG+. First you need to talk to her in the firelink, after which she will tell you about the mark. The next meeting with her will take place on the bridge to Irithyll (where the crocodile will be). There will be her call for help mark on the bridge. Just activate it and help kill the red phantom. After that, in the firelink she will give you a ring. The fourth encounter will take place after killing the Eldritch boss. You need to come to the entrance to the arena with a tree with eggs, and at the crossroads in flowers there will be another marker calling for help from Sirris. We activate, move, kill the enemy - voila, here is the covenant!

I repeat once again - forget about "Rosaria's Fingers" while completing the quest, otherwise you will say goodbye to Sirris forever.

It’s better and more interesting to farm in PvP; the drop chance from skeletons is negligible..
