How to unlock the In Sheep's Clothing achievement in Darkest Dungeon - Definitive Guide
If you are unprepared when it pops up I suggest sending a team of fresh recruits in to die horribly. Doing so will stave off the event and you will get more chances, but importantly won't incur the penalty for ignoring the event (destroys some upgrades in town)
This mission is darkest difficulty meaning if you retreat a hero is guaranteed to die.
The mission itself is a small fixed map, bring as many supplies as possible: torches, shovels, food and especially bandages. You do not get the chance to camp so bringing a stress healer can help and using food to heal up before the last fight may be necessary.
All enemies are variations of the bandits usually fought in the Weald, starting off with weaker ones building up to the strongest. All of them are human so +human bonuses will help here, and all try to inflict bleed in some way (apart from stress dealers) so bleed resist helps too.
The boss throws a bomb that later detonates much like the prophet boss fight. The boss himself does little damage but relies on constantly summoning high damage bandits to assist. Using the protect skill on the bombed character will make this fight easy. Use the helion to stun half the group while your back two focus in damage dealing.
I personally used Helion / man at arms / jester / houndmaster. Helion would stun on alternating turns, bleed the boss if she can or otherwise clear bandits. Man at arms protects whoever is bombed and otherwise buffs the party with bolster or activates his riposte. Jester focuses on stacking bleed on the boss, taking care to not hit the barrel while houndmaster uses the single target hound attack to damage the boss (certain trinkets greatly boost the damage he does to bleeding targets).
Do not leave after the boss as the room directly south of him is a bag containing an ancestral trinket.
If you have any questions or comments then let me know.
The Town Event "Brigand Incursion." will unlock a new area in the regions menu "Hamlet" with the quest "Wolves at the door"
Brigand Vvulf is only available during the mission "Wolves at the Door".
For this to happen the following conditions must be met:
- "Wolves at the Door" will not occur before Week 35.
- You must have at least 4 LV5 heroes.
- The base chance is about 8%-9% and will slightly increase every time a quest is completed.
- If you skip Wolves at the Door, Vvulf will destroy two of your building upgrades.
- If you fail the quest you do not lose town upgrades.
When you enter the map you can go right or left, either way is fine, the maps is a circle with extra rooms on the right and left.
Vvulf is on the top of the circle (180 degrees from your starting point) go there first! The fight is fairly difficult, you can always stay after the fight and go to the extra rooms, the room on the right holds loot.
- Bring shovels and Bandages
- Equip bleed resistance trinkets to help you out.
- Make sure you can hit the 4th position with good dmg.
- Make sure you have a Man at arms with "Defender" skill equipped in your team.
Before you reach Vvulf you'll have a few fights with his crew members, they inflict a lot of blood wounds, which if why you should bring the Bandages. You'll also have to remove multiple obstacles, hence the shovels.
The fight itself is fairly straight forward.
Vvulf will throw a bomb at someone, you can either use your man at arms to defend the character with the bomb, or make sure you destroy the Barrel O' Bombs before the bomb blows (end of turn/beginning of next turn) best is to do both, just in case you miss the Barrel O' Bombs, at least your Man at arms will get a defender buff each time and saves your hero.
That's the main thing, next to that it's a pretty standard fight, deal damage to the boss while making sure your heroes don't die from bombs or the boss and his crew members. Damage over time is a good thing here as Vvulf resistance to bleed and blight isn't that high.
Team;
4 Arbalest (3)vestal/Occultist (2)Bounty Hunter/Hound Master (1)Man-at-arms
Spot 4 & 1 are for the bombs.
3 is for healing, the Vestal is a safe choice, the occultist has more random healing, but possible higher healings, also he can mark enemies which is great for the Arbalest & Bounty hunter. Both are good choices but use the combo Occultist with a Bounty hunter.
2 Bounty hunter does more damage, especially against marked enemies, he can inflict bleed as well. good combo with Arbalest & Occultist. The houndsmaster does bleed to the entire enemy party which is good against the crew, but his damage output is lower.
All 4 options for position 3&4 can hit the 4th position for some minor damage, the Arbalest came slightly short on her damage.
So pick your team depending on your play style.
Don't take a leper with you! he'll never be able to hit the barrel and he's not likely to hit the boss
So, let's start with the fact that we do not forget to take food, bandages, shovels, torches (but if you play without light, then you should read sun in this hint as moon)
Party composition:
Before Boss: Vestal - Houndmaster - Bounty Hunter - Man-at-Arms
After the Boss: Man-at-Arms - Vestal - Houndmaster - Bounty Hunter
Vestal: Pos 4 to boss, Pos 3 to boss: Judgment, healing and whatever else
Houndmaster: Pos 3 to boss: Hound's Rush, Cry Havoc, Guard Dog and Lick Wounds
Pos 2 for the boss: Hound's Rush, Guard Dog, Lick Wounds and Blackjack
Bounty Hunter: Pos 2 to boss: Collect Bounty, Come Hither, Finish Him, Uppercut for hard fights, Flashbang for easy fights
Pos 1 for boss: Collect Bounty, Uppercut, Finish Him + whatever
Man-at-Arms: Pos 1 to Boss: Crush, Rampart, Defender and Bolster
Pos 4 for boss: Defender, Bolster, Command + whatever
Trinkets:
Healer - either two artifacts for healing (especially if you are trying to go through the dungeon without a guardian shield) or an artifact for healing + sun ring (finishing off wounded creatures and healing is priceless, for everything else there is a Mastercard)
Tank: GUARDIAN'S SHIELD. Without him it will be much more difficult. You can try recovery charm + sun cloak/ though ring.
The second artifact for the shield is the rampart shield (for the sake of the skill of the same name), if not, you can take something to tank better.
Bounty Hunter: Sun Ring + Stun amulet before the boss fight.
Houndmaster: Cudgel Weight (or similar, but not stun amulet). Before the battle with the boss, he walks around with a Cresendo box or another DMG/SPD artifact, which he then gives to BH in order to turn into a Stunmaster with two artifacts per stun =) Poor Wulf.
A good option for such a thing is man slayer's ring.
Map:
Blue: obstruction
Green - ancestor bags
Red - easy battles
Golden - boss
Purple - tent
Brown - difficult battles (do not forget that in the first position the shooter does not do aoe, the raider in the last does only weak you are ok, and the big bad guys with a whip, if thrown to the last rows, only do punishment.
Victory is about control and remember that dogs run forward when attacking and do not leave corpses)
Circumstances of the appearance of the Robber:
- the “Wolves at the Gates” event will appear after week 35;
- you must have at least 4 level 5 heroes;
The base chance of the event occurring is 8-9%, the chance increases with each completion of the next task. Therefore, it is possible that you will end the game before he appears again. Don't miss the trophy.
Conclusion: the city is intact, one unnecessary Persian died. This is better than rebuilding the city and collecting valuables again.
