How to unlock the The Promised End achievement in Darksiders Genesis - Definitive Guide
Fort starters, when you start Apocalyptic difficulty it recommends a power level of 1900. This is false and I am not sure if it is possible to get that high. All the power builds I've seen, the points are much lower. My starting power was 1350, and, after I leveled all the creature cores up as progressing through my overall power increased to 1470. My primary focus was on Strife's ATTACK power. So, I changed every monster core that increased Attack for Strife and ignored the flucuating percentages on Wrath, Health, Overall Power, and lastly War. Also, changing cores on War's side of the tree can also effect Strife's powers. All said and done, my powers looked like this. Overall, Power 1470 Attack 671 Wrath 430 Health 1956.
I ran through the whole campaign solo using Strife's distancing with guns and had very little trouble. The levels that I had to repeat several times to pass were Chapter 13 Dagon, Chapter 16 Moloch & Wicked Killington. All 3 Boss levels.
For Ch 16 & the Wicked Killington in the Void, the key to passing these 2 levels is to learn the attacks and frequently use Lt Button to dash out of the way. Timing, obviously takes practice. Now, all of the Boss battles start off easy but can get vicious as the boss's health nears end. So, here's a way to eliminate the end of the fight by starting the match with the Ultimate form for both Strife & War. Each of these forms offer total invincibility and will knock the health down by at least 25%. So, all you have to do is to be able to knock down the first half of the boss's health.
To do this, start each level and try to fill the wrath meter by hitting the boss without getting hit. (Do not open the green box at the start of each level!) Start with War, slash twice & dash, keep repeating. After you get hit once, back off, and switch to Strife. Shoot Regular bullets ONLY & dash repeatedly. After each character has lost almost a full bar of health. Hit the start button and return to main menu. You will now reload back in to the level start and wrath fill meter progress is retained. If it starts you with half bar of health, either idle to regen health or return to main menu again and it will return to full health with progress maintained on both wrath meters. Repeat the start boss fight to progress on both meters and avoid getting hit or losing lives until both wrath meters are full. If you lost 1 or 2 lives, you can now get that back from the green box assuming you did not open it earlier. Now you can start the real boss fight with 6 lives and 2 ready to go Ultimate Forms. If you get a bad run, simply return to main menu and you will restart the boss fight with full wrath meters and 6 lives.
For Ch 13, Dagon. This one is a bitch. 6 lives is completely disregarded because at any time if you are hit by lighting or if one of the monsters do a scoop hit, you are immediately thrown off the platform which immediately FAILS the fight. Do the same as above to fill both Wrath meters. IMPORTANT: If at any time your character goes airborne heading off the platform, for the meter fill or real boss fight, Quickly hit the Start button and return to main menu as you do not want to lose your full wrath meters and have to repeat that process again. For this boss, use primarily Strife by constantly moving in a circular pattern while shooting the boss or spawning monster. Do not stop moving because lightning will hit you. The circular pattern keeps lightning blasts behind you. All boss fights should be started with regular bullets only until the difficulty is ramped up and then you should use shock. As the annoying orbs appear on the map which constantly shoot you, change to War and a blade geyser will fix that problem, but use them sparingly and try to save them for the 3rd wave as many will appear. Tidal Waves: you can get washed off the map and fly back up if you land on jump ball; but, match over if you miss. Avoid this by when you see the wave coming, use LB Y for the invincibility beam. This way there's no chance of falling off the map. After the 2nd tidal wave, use one of the ultimate forms to knock the health and void balls out as much as possible. Unfortunately, you cannot use both ultimate forms in a row because the boss will go invincible as his health drops to a certain level and the 2nd ultimate form will be wasted. So, you have to rough it out a little longer, and using geysers now is the key, until the next tidal wave, Lt Y to avoid it then immediately use the 2nd ultimate form and boss dead.
A cutscene plays following a pop-up message saying Apoc has been unlocked.

Both Hard and Apocalyptic difficulty trophies do stack, so when you finish your first campaign run, just switch over to Apocalyptic to take them both on at the same time. To make playing on this difficulty much easier, grind your Creature Cores in the Endless Arena after beating the game. Once you are comfortable with a core, grind it out until you have it to Level 3, although some slots only go up to 1 rank. It's ok if some cores have a negative effect on your stats as there are other cores which will compensate for this, and some particular cores, when maxed out at level 3, will make the negative effect disappear.
You can speedrun through your first playthrough, since you'll often be unable to enter certain areas as they may require you to have a skill upgrade that you haven't gotten yet. You can always come back after Chapter 11, "Bastion's Fall", when you've acquired your final skill, the Aether Spark. This way, when you're ready for the Apocalyptic run, you can just run by enemies and areas to finish the chapter rather quickly and avoid unnecessary fights.
When the prompt is available and you're surrounded by enemies, use it. This will give a small i-frame from damage. Don't use it if a core or handle is close by, though, as you may accidentally pick it up/use it, leaving you vulnerable to damage. Use your Wrath skills to help you out of sticky situations, and save your Anarchy/Chaos specials for bosses or tough enemies. I found that Strife's Shadow Clone skill is perfect to help you dwindle down enemies and Static Shock for crown control. Please use this setup for your cores for maximum effect: LINK
Make time to grind out creature cores to the max in Endless Arena. Keep tough enemies and bosses at a distance with Strife's infinite ammo skill, then hit 'em with Static Shock once that special is available. Make it a priority for collecting the Abyssal Armor pieces and shards for the Horsemen. They'll unlock two additional slots for Major Creature Cores which will come in handy in boosting your stats when tackling the Apocalyptic difficulty. Run through areas that don't impede your progress and only fight your way out when you're blocked off by a soul gate.
