How to unlock the Elite Diver achievement in Deep Rock Galactic - Definitive Guide
I managed to pull this off solo since i consider Bosco more reliable than your average teammate and a team of 4 is only as strong as its weakest link. So this is for the lonewolf types out there.
Keep in mind deep dives change weekly so experience will vary. Future updates may render this solution obsolete as well.
The class I used was SCOUT. Ive read on different forums that driller is perfect for this but I personally suck with driller. The reason I chose scout was simply because of his GRAPPLING HOOK. My play style was never hold still and when the bugs get too close, grapple away. So in other words, try to avoid combat as much as possible and focus on your objectives. I do recommend taking the time to kill certain enemies like breeders and brood nexus (since they spawn stuff) and enemies that shoot projectiles like spitballers, spitters, menace, and mactera which are very dangerous if left unchecked.
Primary I used was the PLASMA CARBINE with the *OVERTUNED PARTICLE ACCELERATOR unstable overclock.
Tier 1: IMPROVED THERMALS (to offset overclock heat build up penalty)
Tier 2: LARGER BATTERY (because ammo is life)
Tier 3: CUSTOM COIL ALIGNMENT (to offset overclock acuracy penalty)
Tier 4: OVERCHARGED PCF (free dps boost and i believe electrocuted enemies slow down a bit)
Tier 5: MANUAL HEAT DUMP (because its better than overheating in the middle of a fight)
*Keep in mind this build is most effective in short to medium range with the overclock penalty to accuracy.
Secondary I used was the ZHUKOV NUK17 with the CRYO MINELETS unstable overclock.
Tier 1: EXPANDED AMMO BAGS (again, ammo is life)
Tier 2: HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINES (better chance of freezing targets when more minelets are out)
Tier 3: BETTER WEIGHT BALANCE (better to have the accuracy for good minelet placement)
Tier 4: BLOWTHROUGH ROUNDS (minelets wont deploy with direct hits but will with piercing)
Tier 5: GET IN, GET OUT (because speed is everything)
I used the secondary not as a source of damage but a tool. Spraying cryo mines on the ground in front of enemies would freeze hordes and praetorians with a single clip, which then I would switch to my overpowered plasma carbine and shatter them all with a simple burst (Bosco likes to shatter them to). This is extremely effective combo'ed with the slowdown of IFG grenades, especially helpful with blackbox objectives where you cant flee and have to fight. This is ineffective against flying enemies and dreadnoughts which you'll have to just simply shoot'em up.
When it comes to equipment its dealers choice but for the grappling gun i highly recommend max recharge speed. The more frequent you can grapple away, the better your survival. As for armor, I recommend BREATHING ROOM in tier 4 which gives you a few more seconds of invulnerability after being revived by Bosco.
Passive (red) perks I used:
THORNS (kills swarmers that bite you, just make sure you have shield left or else it'll hurt)
VETERAN DEPOSITOR (speed, plus some damage resistance near deposit points and molly)
RESUPPLIER (again because speed and some extra health recovery)
Active (green/blue?) perks I used: *Active perk counters reset every new deep dive section
BEAST MASTER (just helps take some aggro off you)
HEIGHTENED SENSES (bosco can save you, but this is faster and safer. HOVER BOOTS is a good alternative for grappling accidents)
Now how I used BOSCO: *Bosco's revives fully replenish on every new deep dive section
Tier 1: HIGH VELOCITY ROUNDS (helps suppress enemies but EXTRA REVIVE is always a good alternative)
Tier 3: EXTRA REVIVE (always good, accidents happen)
Tier 4: CRYO EXPLOSION (regular rockets suck, and another source of cryo is always welcome)
Tier 5: OVERCHARGED ROUNDS (same reason as plasma carbine's tier 4)
Make sure to use Bosco as much as possible (command using laser pointer), be it mining, attacking key targets, building refinery pipelines, or protecting the drilldozer.

First off, this is one of the hardest achievements to get. You will probably need a full team that is very coordinated, usually sticking in pairs.
I cannot guarantee this method will work for everyone but here is how I did it:
-We had a full team (4 players).
-3 Gunners with Leadstorms (Minigun) and Bulldogs (Revolver).
-1 Driller with a Cryo Cannon and a Subata (Semi-Auto Pistol).
-For passive (red) perks, we all used Thorns, Resupplier, and Sweet Tooth.
-For active (blue) perks, the Gunners used Iron Will and See You In Hell. The Driller used Iron Will and Field Medic.
-Mine only Nitra and Morkite (if it is an objective); Gold does not matter.
Although it is mostly skill, quite a bit is left up to luck. Depending on what the Elite Deep Dive missions are that week. If the missions are just terrible, you can always try again next week.

It should be noted that a Deep Dive consists of 3 missions back to back. An Elite Deep Dive's difficultly is Hazard 4.5 for the first mission, then 5 for the second, and 5.5 for the third. Don't attempt this until you feel competent running Hazard 5 missions.

Personally, my opinion is that this is an extremely difficult test for 4 players, even with communication (there are a lot of mobs and unforeseen situations). I’m already silent about trying to go through this with randoms. BUT! Together, in combination with Ganer - Driller (on a cryo gun), we managed to build bunkers on the waves. It is as convenient as possible to coordinate your actions and there is very little Friendly Fire.
