How to unlock the True Perseverance achievement in Diablo IV - Definitive Guide

***Season 2 patches have somehow made the servers more unstable. Lots of people are complaining that they're losing HC characters due to disconnects. You've been forewarned!!! ***

PLEASE READ:
- Current as of July 6th hotfix
- Diablo 4 is regularly patched so some of this information may change in time. If you notice something that needs updated please comment or DM me and I'll look it over.
- Also note that these tips are only for getting to lvl 50 for this achievement. Much of the following information and class rankings would change if I was taking lvls 50-100 into account.

The absolute fastest way to unlock this is to have a high lvl friend power lvl you. If done correctly you could get from lvl 1-50 in a couple hours.
If you're curious to go this route check out this article or others like it:

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/diablo-4-power-leveling-gu...

The Normal Way to Unlock This
First I'll run through the classes to give you an idea of which may be the best to use for this, using a 5 point scale to rate their dmg and defensive capabilities.
Then we'll look at great aspects to strive for, items you NEED, and general tips.

Classes
Notes: This is how I would personally rank the classes best for Hardcore, mainly focusing on how they handle bosses. All of the classes have either really good crowd control abilities or fantastic AOE dmg or both, so as long as you're careful mobs shouldn't pose an imminent threat.
Bosses are the most likely situations where you'll face death.
I've played each one to around lvl 25-30 and watched many Youtube vids on early class strengths and weaknesses to inform my opinion.
Survivability includes both mobility and defensive skills.

1) Sorcerer: ..........dmg - 4, defensive skills - 5, mobility - 3
2) Barbarian: ........dmg - 4, defensive skills - 4, mobility - 4
3) Rogue: ..............dmg - 5, defensive skills - 2, mobility - 5
4) Druid: ................dmg - 3, defensive skills - 5, mobility - 2
5) Necromancer: dmg - 3, defensive skills - 3, mobility - 1

Sorcerer
The only character with a "cheat death" ability. The second you get to lvl 15 and unlock your specialization enhancements, immediately equip the Flame Shield enhancement. Every 2 minutes the shield can activate when you take fatal dmg and makes you Immune to dmg to 2 seconds.
That, along with Ice Armor (use on every build, even Fire/Shock), Teleport, Deep Freeze (only on certain ice builds), and great burst dmg, the Sorcerer is one of the best suited classes for Hardcore.

Barbarian
This big lug dishes out strong dmg and has some mobility skills but they all culminate in him getting in close and dirty. Just make sure you always have some barrier active or a mobility skill off cooldown to use so you can get out of trouble when necessary.

Rogue
This is the class I'm using in Hardcore.
Rogue has by far the most mobility skills of any class and many passives that increase movement speed. If you're good at positioning yourself well in battles then this class could be #1 or #2 in the ranking for Hardcore.
But besides Dark Shroud they have little defensive capabilities so stay on the move!
Rogue has the highest dmg potential in the early levels but low defense. Glass cannon for sure!
I would only recommend ranged builds for hardcore. Try not to get in close to avoid wipes.

Druid
Lots of defensive and healing capabilities, but very little mobility and comparatively low dmg output under lvl50. Still a great choice and it sits at the top of some internet guru's lists so don't count him out.

Necromancer
Skeletons can help slightly with enemy aggro, but more often than not, especially with bosses, they focus solely on you. Necro has no mobility skills early on and very little defensive capabilities.
He can still be good though so don't let this ranking scare you out of using him if you're dead set on it.
See BigPoppaHoyle's comment below this solution for Necro tips.

Aspects
(These are great general aspects to use for staying alive. Obviously there are great offensive ones you should be using also and some defensive that are class specific but I'll just list the best general use ones here)
Protecting Aspect - When hit while not Healthy, a magical bubble is summoned around you for [3.0-5.0] seconds. While standing in the bubble players are Immune. Can only occur once every 90 seconds.
Aspect of the Protector - Damaging an Elite enemy grants you a Barrier absorbing up to [X] damage for 10 seconds. This effect can only happen once every 30 seconds.
Aspect of Disobedience - You gain [0.25-0.50]% increased Armor for 4 seconds when you deal any form of damage, stacking up to [25.00-50.00]%
Aspect of Might - Basic Skills grant 20% Damage Reduction for [2.0-6.0] seconds.
Eluding Aspect - Becoming Iniured while Crowd Controlled grants you Unstoppable for 4 seconds. This effect has a [40-20] second Cooldown.

Hardcore mode Items
(Both of these randomly drop from enemies after you reach lvl 20, more often from Elites.)
1) Scroll of Escape - immediately teleports you to safety when used. Assign it to your action wheel and memorize where it's at so you can quickly use it when needed.
2) Elixir of Death Evasion - makes characters immune to all damage for two seconds once their Life reaches zero. Like other Elixirs, this effect is active for only 30 minutes, and it disappears once it procs.

Tips
- Play on WT1. This should be obvious, but don't make this riskier or more difficult on yourself.
- Make sure you play with a stable internet connection. This may change in the future, but right now if you disconnect from the server for any reason your Hardcore character goes bye-bye.
-While you can skip the campaign if you've already completed it on an Eternal character I wouldn't personally recommend it. If you do skip it you'll most likely be running a lot of Dungeons to level, increasing your chances of running into the Butcher and dying. Up to you though.
- Crowd control effects like Slow, Freeze, Daze, etc, can end your run very quickly so any abilities or gear with Unstoppable effects can be very worthwhile.
- If you're in a dungeon and you see a skull icon and hear rattling chains, I would recommend immediately teleporting out of the dungeon. The chain rattling means The Butcher is imminent and he's not coming to invite you to dinner, you will BE his dinner. Get out.
- Pick your battles wisely. Hardcore mode introduces more Elite enemies and regular mobs more often have extra health and abilities. If all of your defensive abilities are on cooldown and you see a powerful pack of mobs/elites ahead, run away for a minute.
- If possible, play with at least one other person. Enemies are a bit tougher to take down in coop but you gain +10% XP in a group and you won't always have all the enemy aggro meaning your defensive cooldowns have more time to reset before needing them again.
- Unless you love risky moves and the threat of imminent death I wouldn't recommend doing Strongholds in Hardcore mode until you're a high level and you have a master build. Basically avoid them if you only care about this achievement.

If you have recommended changes please comment below!

Just sharing some of my experience, I did this with a Druid. The amount of defense you have is great for survivability. I was lucky enough to have a Shockwave Aspect drop fairly early on for me so I ended up using Pulverise after putting this Aspect on some Jewellery. This one Aspect massively boosted the damage output of my Druid and made the leveling process a cakewalk.

I skipped the campaign early on and mostly just explored the world doing whatever I needed to level my renown. What I found though is that Whispers gave great XP while leveling, probably helped by the recent patch that boosted the XP rewards. I did all whispers except dungeons just so I could avoid the Butcher. I'm not sure if its faster / safer compared to doing the campaign quests. Overall took me about 13 hours.

Can someone boost me on hardcore, I died 4 times at level 35 - 40 it's pretty frustrating at some point, it would be cool if someone can boost me on a high level dungeon for 3-4 runs. GT: GenieEliteZ

You can't invite anyone to higher world tiers anymore. Power leveling is less of an option now.

yeah, i came in to share this link that says it was patched. so the boost method seems to not be an option anymore.

You literally just have to have them carry you through the capstone dungeon (which is what was suggested) no? Never even heard of inviting people to higher tiers that haven't unlocked them before.

Completed this on a Necro. It is a 100% viable build early game with Bone Spear and Corpse Explosion, with Blood Mist to prevent Crowd Control. Even took down the Butcher in T2.

Solo you can run dungeons repeatedly til level 40, at which point I actually ran the campaign on T1. At level 40+ the early game bosses are a pushover.

What a complicated achievement, mostly because of the connection issues. I had to make sure every time I was playing to fully restart my modem/router because the servers will kick you saying you’re not connected when you still are. I am not even sure this fixed the problem because I was never not connected every time it would kick me…I lost a level 30, and two level 20s, I wasn’t even battling at the time but the game said I died after booting me from the server.. I hope they patch these problems. 4 tries later I finally made it to 50 but right before hitting 50 the problems started again and I ended up getting super lucky not losing the character this time even though I was in a massive legion battle. I will be taking a break from HC for awhile till the game is out a little bit longer cause god damn what a headache this was.

Did it as a pulverise druid. Basically grabbed renown while leveling between campaign acts. Finished about 7 dungeons (Butcher is too scary for more). Other than meeting the Butcher 3 times, no scary moments at all. Druid is a pretty decent char to do this with due to high health, lots of fortify/liefesteal as a bear. The guide says damage is low but overpowered pulverizes are massive. Much more damage per second than I was doing in softcore campaign as a sorc.

"exactor it", most people seem to think it's tough to get the right gear for a good pulverizer build in the early game. I could be wrong though as I haven't played Druid past lvl 25ish.

Just got it today with a druid. Legion Event is your best source of XP.
It quick and the enemies scale with your level, so you can take on anytime, as long as you unlocked the areas they spawn, from clearing the Strongholds.

Did this with a Pulverize Druid, basically using this build: https://maxroll.gg/d4/build-guides/pulverize-druid-leveling-.... The build is pretty tanky, generates fortify, and has a barrier generating skill and a few skills that break CC. The build really gels around level 30 but is solid the whole way, although better vs. mobs than bosses.

I opted for the doing the campaign and side quests, as well as strongholds, on T1. I completely avoided dungeons. (This achievement probably can be done faster by skipping the campaign, but I thought I’d get bored running Tree of Whispers quests the entire time).

The Scroll of Escape is fairly rare: I only found 3 going from level 20 to 50. Fortunately, I didn’t need to use any of them. I used the Elixir of Death Evasion for strongholds but never actually needed it.

All in all, a very smooth run to level 50. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t play Diablo in HC generally.

I sure am glad I equipped that flame shield enhancement like you suggested. What's cool is you don't even have to have it as one of your six spells that you assign to a button, and can still have it in enhancements. Already saved me from one death.

Just wanted to add a couple things. Once you get to around level 20 or so, every time you equip a new piece of gear, I recommend upgrading it at the blacksmith one or two levels. The 1st and 2nd upgrades are fairly cheap and you should always have materials for it as long as you are salvaging unwanted gear instead of selling it.

For gems, I recommend socketing Armor with Rubys for life. And socket weapons with skulls for life on kill. Your gear should be giving you enough Damage and other important stats, so use your gems to help keep you alive.

Also until you are level 20, I would stay away from the world events (the areas of the map with an orange circle. These tend to involve large mobs of enemies and can be a little overwhelming if on a low level character that doesn't have many abilities unlocked yet or solid gear.

The disconnection policy is absurd and has almost ruined this game for me. How am I supposed to avoid the connection dipping for a few seconds out of 15+ hours on a character? I've lost a 37 and a 40 character to this now. My internet connection is fine. What am I supposed to do?

The devs need to fix that. Shame on them. I too have lost hardcore characters because of their bullsht servers. An impossible achievement when they are at fault. Give us our characters back or don’t have this stupid achievement. Don’t waste your time til they fix this. I’m done playing this game until they do.

The amount of bullshit I've had to tolerate for this achievement. Lv49 I got instakilled (very likely a build issue, learnt my lesson). Lv37 because my TV popped up the "Your TV hasn't had input for 2 hours and will turn off", so I could not see what the hell was going on and got killed trying to escape + get that notice away. Lv34 because my controller batteries died.

There isn't a single game where hardcore mode makes the game more enjoyable.

Died first time Level 25 Necro, with one hit in Dungeon. Died second time with Sorcerer Level 31 because of batteries died. Got it third try with Druid, with never going to a Dungeon and always with fresh Batteries. Just doing tree and sidequests all time.

So Maybe I am just crazy, but I have never played any of these games, picked it up yesterday no tutorial permadeath on World 2 Went in as a rogue, died at level 10( Controller Died), went in as a barbarian died at level 13 (Also a dumb mistake) Currently 40ish mins in with a necromancer at level 11 and I am breezing through it.

Once he dies im probably going to try a sorcerer next. I feel if I change it to World 1 It would be too easy for me at this rate?

@BlackyCousin88 The game gets more difficult as you level up. I'm comfortable playing Tier 2 until about level 20 and then I switch down. If you're playing Tier 2 at level 35+, a bad hit can kill you in half a second even if you feel you're being cautious. Even Tier 1 can get really nasty in those last 10 levels.

FYI this season they got rid of the Elixir of Death Evasion and they nerfed the sorcerer's cheat death ability go make this harder. I still played as a sorcerer, and it still wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I did mainly Tree of Whispers quests and every 15 levels or so, I would temper whatever my best gear was and put aspects on them. I always tried to go % total armor and damage up, once I had those scrolls unlocked. I played on World Tier I and towards the end I felt pretty overpowered. I was more paranoid about encountering an infinite loading screen (which happened twice on my normal character this season, forcing me to close my game) or something else that would possibly delete my character.

The disconnection policy is absurd and has almost ruined this game for me. How am I supposed to avoid the connection dipping for a few seconds out of 15+ hours on a character? I've lost a 37 and a 40 character to this now. My internet connection is fine. What am I supposed to do?

Necro has no mobility skills and very little defensive capabilities.

If you have one in your inventory it is automatically used when you get a server disconnect and saves your character!

- The Resistance stat is completely worthless right now. If it's patched I'll recommend stacking Res but until then focus on straight Armor rating on gear.

Died first time Level 25 Necro, with one hit in Dungeon. Died second time with Sorcerer Level 31 because of batteries died. Got it third try with Druid, with never going to a Dungeon and always with fresh Batteries. Just doing tree and sidequests all time.

Ranged Rogue worked for me, done it on first try, excellent mobility for escaping risky encounters and great long range damage good for exp farming too. (skill tree

EDIT - As a couple of commenters have mentioned it seems you need to clear a stronghold now to unlock the pre-req side quests and this probably won't be safe to do until later in the levelling - perhaps ~30.

This negates some of the value of this method but leaving this here as it still could be the safest way from ~30 to 50.

As someone who plays a lot of ARPG's and has played a lot of D2, D3 & D4 - mostly on softcore but somewhat on hardcore - ICE Faux Pirate's guide is pretty decent on general play on HC for D4.

For those not looking to really "play" but just to get this chieve as quickly and easily as possible I would recommend a more focussed addition to the guide on how to most easily get the achievement. Please read to the end if trying this method or at least don't ever complete the dungeon or you can never farm it again!

Just to be really clear - Never open the boss room door at all - if you are opening this you are passing the farm and going towards eliminating the dungeon from your char's save.

I would recommend the "Hallowed Glacier" sidequest dungeon for the side quest "Call of the Ancients" in the Bear Tribe camp near Kyovoshad: details here - https://www.wowhead.com/diablo-4/guide/zones/call-of-the-anc...

You need to be lvl 15 I believe and do a couple of pre-requisite side quests as listed in the wowhead guide. Follow the tips in ICE Faux's guide to get there if you need it, but it doesn't take long and the first 10-20 levels are fairly risk free. You will get around 2 levels from doing the pre-requisite side quests.

Skip down to the bullet list on strat below if you just want the strat without additional comments or warnings

-->

If you want a (relatively) risk free but fairly quick path to level 50 just spam this side quest dungeon (without completing). This was actually the fastest way to farm uniques pre-season 1 once Blizz finished nerfing all the popular farm dungeons. It remains un-nerfed as of Season 2 so contains a decent amount of elites (more XP) without any bosses.

The only non-dungeon areas with comparable elite density are the PVP zones (naturally to be avoided on HC) or event zones such as Blight (season 2) or Helltide (not applicable to levelling to 50) which are far more risky for those only seeking to hit 50 whilst avoiding the dreaded HC reset.

On WT1 the following will only apply to weak / unoptimised builds and/or under-geared chars but.. if you are going in at ~lvl 15 and not sure how well your char will deal with elites then please be careful and preferably enter with a scroll of escape at hand and ready to go. The elites in here are no more dangerous than your usual open world ones but you may face 2-3 at a time in the larger rooms quite frequently or occassionally even 4-5.

As you get used to the dungeon you will know where this grouping may occur and how to easily avoid having to fight all of them at once if it is a struggle (kiting the first 1-2-3 back into where you came from basically).

The critical point if using this farm is to never finish the dungeon. I recommend uncovering the whole map the first run or 2 to learn the dungeon and path. After this you can farm in about 5m per run or less (depending on build etc) for about 2/3 to 3/4 of a level on WT1 initially (1/3 to 1/4 of a level in the 40's). This will not be the fastest way to gain XP but is quicker than roaming the world doing events and side quests etc and very low risk - far less risky than braving dungeons where bosses or the Butcher can ruin your day!

The other beauty of this approach is that, due to the elite density, you will get plenty of gear upgrades - rares and legendaries - as you go. So you can keep your gear as level relevant as you feel you need to. There is also a blacksmith in the bear camp so you can melt / sell the stuff you dont want every few runs as needed. You will need to return to a major town such as Kyovoshad if you want to apply new aspects or to upgrade your potions etc. You probably won't need pots in here but it would seem sensible to keep them somewhat upgraded as you go ;)

This dungeon, unlike full dungeons, has no procedural generation to the layout so once you learn it, it will always be exactly the same. Elite spawn locations are fairly fixed - but not of course exactly the same each time - so the path I describe below tries to account for that. Experience after a few runs will soon help you learn where to expect and look out for elites.

-->

The basic path once you have the quest;

  1. Enter dungeon and at the 1st branch turn right / South and follow down to the next "room"
  2. Clear room including dead ends and the exit from the North path you ignored but dont waste time going all the way up the North branch - there are very rarely any elites up the top of that path
  3. Proceed to mini-boss room, clear, proceed to next area
  4. Follow dungeon, clearing the small dead end to North in first mini-room (often elites here) and passing boss chamber entrance - which we are never going to use ^^
  5. Follow round to South - clearing the dead end to the East mid-way down (again often elites) - then take the path to your char's left (right path on the screen - you are facing down) and follow this around and North East ignoring the path to the South West / left
  6. Clear up to next mini-boss including mini dead ends - kill him and pick up the item he guards (boss chamber keystone) for speed boost to improve clear speed
  7. Backtrack to the South West path we ignored in previous large chamber and take this
  8. Clear final "room" (this is to the far S - we have not gone back N towards the boss room) including 2 dead ends to South of the room - 1 immediately on entering and 1 at far West side - as well as the link up path at the far West of the room going North back towards a path we ignored earlier (no need to follow this path all the way back to previously visited area but just the start of it for elites)
  9. Once cleared "leave dungeon" then exit game and re-enter which will reset the dungeon
You will soon learn the dungeon and this path (and usual elite placement) as it is quite small and is a very efficient and risk free farm ^^

Hope this helps some with the chieve - happy hunting and remember your scroll of escape always on hardcore!

Thumbs up just for the effort, but now Blizzard has upped the level for a required stronghold. Malnok went from 20 to 45 min. Super annoying.

This guide seems to be obsolete now.

I've not played in a little while but unless they changed the design dramatically there's no stronghold involved for the option I suggested. It's a side quest dungeon with a couple of pre-req side Q's to open it.

Definitely not the fastest way by any means in the 'modern' game but probably one of the safest.

I had to complete a stronghold in order to get the right side quests to unlock so that this dungeon became available. I was able to complete the stronghold around level 30 with no problem, though. I did the method suggested in this guide from level 30 all the way until 50. It was incredibly boring, but it also felt very safe and predictable, so +1 from me.

I just finished this using the Sorceress playing ONLY on World Tier I to keep things as safe as possible. I used a tankier Lightning Build. Spark as the Base attack, Charged Bolts as the Core attack, and Unstable Currents as the Ultimate. I used Vyr's Mastery as well for the added survivability. This build can however also utilize the Crackling Energy skills for more damage if you so choose to sacrifice some defense from the other skills, but getting the Flame Shield Enchantment as soon as possible, as well as heavy use of Ice Armor and Teleport are the most vital for survival. You'll also be picking the passives like Mana Shield and Protection, as well as some defense Lightning and Frost passives like Electrocution and Icy Veil.

Play around with the build some if you want, but those are some very good ones I found and I never died or had to use a Scroll of Escape with this build. The gear will kind of take care of itself as you play, especially if you keep doing Tree of Whisper quests. Just make sure you are reading things and make liberal use of gem slots where possible to increase health and armor.

The best way I found was to skip the story if you can and jump right into the open world, and to completely avoid dungeons so you don't meet The Butcher. Just focus on doing the Tree of Whisper quests and Side Quests to hit level 50 as fast as possible, as well as doing World Events as you see them since they all net decent experience.

The Tree of Whisper quests particularly were very helpful, and you can also combine them to get the Chaotic Whispers Achievement for opening 10 Chaos chests while you grind to level 50! These quests really will help you knock this out much quicker, even though they can get a little grindy and boring/tedious.

A final note to add is I found that when you start on Hardcore you DO NOT carry anything over from previous non-Hardcore characters, so keep this in mind that you will be going in from scratch, but still not really a problem on World Tier I, as long as you never change it. Ended up taking about 20-25 hours playing it super safe.

Hope this helps! Please don't downvote unless you state why in the comments, and happy Achievement Hunting!

Good information so far. Did you follow a certain build guide?
I just lost a 38 Necro and I don't want to risk experimenting build wise.
I wanna be done with this mode and get back to SC

I did not follow a guide, just used the build described in the guide. Mostly focusing on tankiness and survivability over damage.

Generally good advice. I followed the build below with a few tweaks as mentioned in guide in order to make the build stronger.
https://www.wowhead.com/diablo-4/guide/classes/sorcerer/ligh...

I think the most efficient way is to skip the campaign, and do the tree of whispers. However they become incredibly boring so my personal reccomendation would be to do what I did, and do the campaign up to about level 25-30 and then skip the campaign.

Overall this achivement was no where near as bad as I thought. Just a little time cosuming and tedious at times.

Just to add more info. The other guides are fine.

I just got this in about 6hrs playing cautiously, running a summoning necromancer.

The nice thing about necros is that the skelly bois and golem do all the work for you - you just curse (I used Iron Maiden) and then Bone Spear from afar and let the minions do all the dmg. That way I sit back and chill. If you get the Occult Dominion Aspect, put it on your amulet to get +3 skelly mages AND skelly warriors. I had a total of 14 doing the dirty work for me.

For XP, I just ran open world Whispers, farming Grim Favors because the Tree of Whispers yields ridiculous XP as do each of the events, and there are at least 2-3 different regions with them active. The only events I did not do are the Basements (Icon is stairs going into a basement, kinda looks like a laptop to me :) because they are so closely packed it's easy to get swamped by enemies and die.

Same for dungeons - too closely packed and few means of escape.

Finally, if you move up or down on the map, be careful because monsters will come at you quickly owing the 16:9 aspect ratio, so try to engage at a distance left or right.

Now, while this might sound incredibly daunting because in Hardcore, when your character dies, they’re gone for good, the truth is you can make it super doable if you do the background work along the way with your first character. You know what they say, right? Preparation is the key to success.

So, let’s run you through how to get through Hardcore and get that character to level 50.
  • Firstly, this should be your second character. Don’t try this on your first run, unless you’re slightly mad… or incredibly skilled. Or both!
  • Next up, in your main character build, you’re going to want to do a few things:
    • Firstly, get all the Altars of Lilith using our Diablo 4 Altars of Lilith locations maps, as the stats boosts carry across all your characters.
    • Secondly, reach at least tier 3 out of 5 in each of the 5 regions. This will give your new character 10 extra skill points straight out of the gate, as well as the maximum 9 health potion capacity.
    • Thirdly, you’re going to want to unlock all the Aspects for the Codex of Power that will suit your new character build. For instance, if you’re going for a lightning mage, then get Aspects that really lean into that build.
    • And finally, save resources for your Hardcore character while playing your main character, so you can make sure your equipment is absolutely maxed out equipment wise.
  • Choosing the right build is key too. Personally, while I loved using my bow Rogue, when compared to a Rogue using Twisted Blades, my character doesn’t compare. So, pick an overpowered class. I’d recommend a Twisted Blades Rogue, a Whirlwind Barbarian, or an electricity focused-Sorcerer. They’re the overpowered classes right now if you ask me.
  • Look for a class that has a shield, barrier or a period of immunity and use that. This can be something like Concealment for the Rogue, or Blood Mist for the Necromancer.
  • Focus on equipment that makes sure your defence is as high as it can be. Also, look for equipment that can grant you health: like restoring health when not taking damage, or gaining life when enemies surround you.
  • Upgrade every item to at least level 3 (which is before you use the rare materials).
  • Once you get to level 20 in Hardcore mode, enemies can drop the Scroll of Escape. This is a quick get out of jail free card. So, when you get one (it’s a rare drop), equip it in your shortcut wheel. That way a.) it gives you easy access to use it if you're in trouble; and b.) if, god forbid, the servers go down or you get disconnected, the game automatically uses it. Phew.
  • Don’t do any dungeons until you have a Scroll of Escape, in case you encounter the rare enemy, The Butcher, who will likely smash you. If you encounter him and don’t have one, don’t run, try and get him stuck on a piece of scenery like a pillar, and use that to your advantage.
  • Craft Elixirs of Death when possible, which prevent death for the next 30-minutes - it gets used when you would die though, so you're not invincible for 30 minutes, so be aware of that. You can then use this when you’re in a pinch or on a boss. And where you can, use other elixirs and potions to assist too.
  • I’d recommend not skipping the campaign as a new Hardcore character, as the XP you get can be valuable. I mean, you can, and then head into the open-world and farm enemies and dungeons until level 50. Once you’ve completed the campaign though, you know what missions to miss or stop at in case you die as well. So there’s that. Choosing to start with the campaign gives you an option to do that, choosing to skip throws you right into the endgame, essentially. Your call, but it’d be hard not to resist that campaign XP.
  • And finally, play on World Tier 1 when doing missions and bosses. Play on World Tier 2 when farming XP in the open-world, it’s just safer that way.
The above is just a load of tips to get you safely through to level 50 on Hardcore, as a solo player. If you play with friends, you can get them to carry you. Just be careful and mindful of not getting cornered and with the stats boosts from the Altars of Lilith, the extra Skill Points and the full health potion capacity, you should be okay. It’ll take you a good 20 hours on a knife edge, sure, but at least you can look back and say you did it.

I recommend taking the sorceress, because she is the only character who can avoid death once every two minutes (you need to insert the fire shield skill into the enchantment slot). It is better to play on the first level of the world, because on the second level, although you have more experience, you are also more likely to fly away from the bosses. Don’t forget to constantly drink elixirs (any elixir lasts 30 minutes and gives +5% to the experience gained) and regularly go to legion events (team up with other players in groups, then you will have a +15% experience bonus).
The trophy is not so much difficult as it is long. Although I played with a fire shield in the enchantment, during my entire playthrough it never worked.
I used a build through ice shards.

You can play as a necromancer. We upgrade everything connected with skeletons, skeletons, magicians, Golems. The rest is what you want, for yourself. It is possible to play at an average level if you have already played it in normal mode. There were no problems, the downside is that you could run into the Butcher.

The easiest way is to level up on the first world alone, it will take about 3 days of relaxed play in the evenings, if there are even fewer parties, it’s better not to go to the veteran.

I'll add a couple of points on my own.
It’s not difficult to level up, but the higher you rise to lvl 50, the higher the chance of making a mistake and flying back to the beginning.
The tree is your best friend, it gives good experience for assignments, chests with things. I went through the “collection of spheres” in locations 3 points + killing certain mobs, all this is natural with any potion + 5% to experience. Also, if you can’t find a friend, just follow someone and kill mobs and you will also gain experience. Avoid confined spaces and don't take risks, it's always better to run away to refill your potions and come back. And put the escape scroll in the quick slot, it seems to drop out at level 20, just in case it gets jammed or something happens to the Internet.

I advise you to get the trophy during a seasonal campaign, after you have upgraded your hero in the normal seasonal mode and received smoldering ashes. It can be spent on increasing experience (up to +40%) and increasing the effect of elixirs (up to +50%).
If you are not particularly confident in your abilities, then the alchemist has a potion that saves you from death once, do not forget to drink before grinding. Another advantage is that it can be combined with any other potion.
Keep in mind that in the heroic world nothing from the ordinary is transferred, not the altars of Lillith, not even the map. So there will be few cans, and there will be no free skill points either.
My route for pumping up 50 lvl is this: we drink two cans (for experience and for survival) and go clean the undergrounds, for which there is a reward at the whispering tree. After 2 such subways, we surrender to the tree and get more xp. Along the way, a map and teleportation points open, for which we get a little experience and, most importantly, recognition.
