How to unlock the We Better Use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber... achievement in DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 - Definitive Guide
This is for passing all 13 tests that Old Kai gives. The only one people seem to have issue with is the 13th test. The reason being, is the command given is for a guard break attack, which is also the same for a more basic attack. It also has a very small frame window in which it can be done.
I watched some youtube videos trying to say you should spam LS forward and X (the third step that gives people issues). This doesn't work. To do a guard break, your timing has to be right, and it has to be just a flick of the LS, not a long hold (at least that is what I found after an hour of working on it).
So step by step what I did.
Line up the characters where the enemy is slightly left of you and you are slightly to their left (your right, basically their left shoulder and your left shoulder should be about lined up), and you should be aiming slightly left towards them. This makes it so when you kick them away with Y+B, they should go left. Then IMMEDIATELY push right on LS+A. The timing on this step is very important, because you need to get behind the opponent with enough time to hit the guard break.
For timing the guard break, you will see the ki aura around your character disappear just as they get to the end of the dash and start to turn around. As soon as you see the change in the aura, that's when you flick the LS to the LEFT and hit X. It shows LS UP, but it means FORWARD, and if you went to the right of the opponent, forward would be to your left as it goes by your camera angle not where your character is facing. Just try to get this timing down, if you aren't getting the guard break move to activate, try performing it slightly later. If you are doing the guard break but not connecting, then try doing it a little sooner. Its a window of about 2 frames.
The final part of the last combo is to land a LT+RT+X ultimate, which has to be done extremely quickly after the last kick. So try to be ready for it. It took me about 4 completions of the combo for the Ultimate to land because of how short that window is.
Also, my achievement is bugged at 100%. Ive relaunched the game and still not gotten it to pop.

the flick LS + X is what worked for me, I was holding or spamming LS but just a flick did the trick. Spent over an hour yesterday and only managed to hit it ok once, today I completed the training in 5 minutes with this tip. Thanks.
p.s: also stuck at 100% ,,,,,

Technically, this is an easy achievement. Also, this achievement can have stupid-hard technique.
(Also, I'm assuming you use an X-box One controller)
In short, you just need to complete the Challenge Quests offered by Elder Kai at the Orange School. Your current Mentor (or Krillin, if you haven't set anyone) will be your teacher/sparring partner for the lessons.
Each lesson consists of your Mentor giving you a set of inputs to do, demonstrating the result for doing them correctly, then allowing you to do so yourself. For the most part, you just copycat them, easy.
However, there are a few select quests that are notoriously difficult for many people to clear due to a couple of details (which are both not immediately apparent to casuals, such as myself, and never explained in-game).
So, here are those details that will make you HATE these missions (until you get them down and then you will clear them decently fast and then promptly forget them and likely never ever need that knowledge again. Unless you are really into PvP, I guess? (I love these games, but don't care for PvP generally. I genuinely play for the story and fun experience. And to be an adorable custom-style Majin girl!)
Trick #1: Homing Dashes
While the basic Homing Dash is easy to do (just do [Y]+[B] then follow with [A/Jump]) the variant that has you dash even faster to get behind where they are launched to do many of the follow-up attacks can feel very luck-based. While it is not actually luck-based... it still can be hard enough to predict that it can feel like it is.
In actuality, the way it works is you must hit [A/Jump]+[D-stick] in the correct direction based on the direction they are facing and being launched. (Why they thought this should be such a frustrating input, I don't know, it is quite stupid and should just trigger for any held direction).
It's one of those things that gets even harder because the game is played in three dimensions, not just two, so being just slightly off orientation will mean you mess up. So just keep trying to set up the same positions (I suggest being on the right side of the screen from them with them facing you) and with some trial and error you should get it down sooner or later.
Trick #2: Input speed/timing
This is the hardest part, by far. The combos you have to input must be done within a very few frames of a given action on-screen, but unless you practice those combos to the point that you have memorized the timings, you are more likely to be like me and button-mashing and relying on buffered inputs to pull this off.
The thing is, there are numerous attacks that follow the Homing Dash Behind and they seem to require being input almost instantaneously after inputting the dash. Similarly, any combos that finish with a Super or Ultimate move must be input with absolutely no lag after doing the knockback attack. If you miss the timing, you have to do it again, but faster. Again, this is technically a practice-til-you-get-it thing, but it is really frustrating to be watching your mentor constantly dodging all your final moves (or worse, getting HIT but it not counting) because you were just a hair of a second too slow to input the move.
Trick #3: Mentor
Now, this one technically might not make any difference at all, but I'm gonna mention it for the mere possibility. As I said before, the default partner is Krillin, who is a little shortie that just wants to get to shopping and home to #18 (he will remind you of this a LOT). So, there is a belief that selecting a Mentor who is much taller (say, Piccolo) then they might be slightly easier to hit.
That said, I don't really believe it makes any difference at all (they made this game to have all fights work regardless of who is doing what), but if it makes you feel like it is more effective then I recommend taking your preferred Mentor that you have access to.
And here are the challenge quests that are notorious for their frustration level:
04) Knock 'Em Down - Advanced
12) Combo Attack Time! - Intermediate
13) Combo Attack Time! - Advanced
On the bright side, I was able to pull it off (after about two hours or more, a fair bit of screaming at Krillin, and some frustrated online researching) which means that any other dedicated player can do so as well. And, hopefully, my little bit of advice here will aid you in doing so.
Another bright side, completing the Challenge Quests does provide a decent amount of XP for a new character, so it can be a benefit for the early fights in the story/PQs. And you might even get some useful strategy/combos out of it! (I know I've started using the Knockback attack a bit, and it's pretty handy.)

Challenge Quests are found by talking to Elder Kai in front of Orange Star High School in the Business District.
There's 13 of them to complete. Most of them are easy. They're basically tutorials to teach you how to do more advanced actions and combos during battle, but number 13 is widely considered one of the hardest missions in the entire game.
