can this be done by chapter selecting or do i have to run through the whole game

As long as you collect EVERY booster from a certain chapter without leaving you can go to the menu and select other chapters, but if you collect only a portion of the boosters from one chapter then leave and load in another you will lose all the boosters from THAT chapter.
Like most collectable achievements it's best to just go through from start to finish and collect them all in one run (even better in one sitting) which, in this case, isnt difficult cos its not a massive campaign, especially on easy.
