How to unlock the Robot-Like Consistency achievement in F1 2011 - Definitive Guide

There is a way better and easier method to get this chievo:

1. Go to timetrail pick any short circuit where you can hit a around 1.25 a lap or less.

2. Pick a marker just in front of the start/finish line .. last gridspot for instance.

3. Park the car on the same spot every lap and when the timer hits 1.50 (so you have somewhat 20 second to position yourserlf) go full throttle and race to finishline.

4. Repeat this 5 laps and the chievo is yours.

It doesn't matter if you have a slow lap or not as long as the time between laps is no more then 0.250 seconds. And with the method i describe up here you hit less than 0.100 difference (as long as you consistantly go full throttle on the same timespot) every lap .... even closer.

This worked perfect for me in my first try and hope that it works for you guys as well.

EDIT : As pointed out by UpbeatCheeta35 .. you need clean lapes !! Thanx fro the extra info

Point out though in timetrial, you can see the ghost car of your best lap so if you can match that you'll be safe. If you're a bit trigger happy or a tad slow when looking at the time to accelerate, you'll have a moment to tap the brake or use kers/drs to catch the ghost car.

great solution, i want to add that you need clean laps, if you receive in one round an invalid time due to corner cutting or something like this it does not count.

Great Guide, Personally for me I found Montreal the best as there is a red line like 2 meters before the start finish. got all 5 lap times with 0.005 of each other and was able to use flashbacks if i did make a mistake. + from me. :)

I didn´t find any timer to look at, so for me this guide was pointless unfortunately.

Go round Monza in 2nd or 3rd gear (depending on how good you are) flat out the whole way round. Cut all the chicanes and don't use KERS or DRS and you should easily get it.

My times were within 0.033 seconds of each other. Some were -0.000 (that's how accurate this method is).

I wouldn't recommend slowing down and trying to time it at the line, sound good in theory but would be very difficult.

Definitely the best method on here! Also, it's much easier in 2nd gear.

this is for those of you that are new to f1 or simply find it hard to drive the car.i did it this way and found it very simple
firstly set up a time trail
pick monza(italy) and go race
go to set up and make sure you have all assists on and put the gear box to manual
now MUTE you tv (so you cant hear the engine rev its tits off)
apart from the s bend at the start you can go round this track in 1ST gear top speed 87mph(using red bull)then theres now arguments about speed its just flat out.lap 2 with bring on a ghost car just stay right behind it.if you feel you to far away ever change up a gear then drop it straight back down

Tried doing the other methods suggested but they taking forever and weren't working for me. Tried this one and did it in my first 5 laps. Really great guide.

I did it at Montreal as it is one of the quickest tracks. Do a reasonable lap, but after the last chicane, stick to 100mph. This way, the next laps, you can either slow down or catch up with the ghost before the last chicane, getting as close as you can. With the set 100 mph, you know that if u are slightly behind you can catch up slightly, going around 105mph and vice versa. It's a good way of getting as close as you can to the previous lap(s). I didn't use the out of car view, but it might be a good way of getting close if you can see the ghost. Experiment with views. Hope I've helped.

For some reason this one confused me, but the easiest way to do it is..
Go to time trial, pick the track your best at (Personally i found monza the easiest), set a time, then you will be racing yourself your "ghost car" just make sure your very close to him at the end of the lap, few practise laps and youl know monza blindfolded (In some sorts haha)

Theres another way you could do it, i say could because its more complicated and you need to have some great reflexes, Could do a slow lap, wait at the finish line til your ghost car comes round then try do it that way, but as ive said its slighlty more complicated.. But if its easiest for you go for it :)

Easy enough, Fantastic game anyone agree?

I did it this way

Go to monza in time trial mode
Use manual gears and stay on first don't change unless you have to catch up to the ghost and on lap 6 you should get it

If you need help just message me or add me on x box live

This one is actually a lot easier than it sounds. Go to time trial mode and pick a track you like, ideally one you are pretty comfortable driving around and not making errors. If it's your first time on this track in time trial mode, then that makes things a little easier. For your first lap just drive round at a pace you find easy enough and don't push too hard, don't use DRS or KERS either and even take it easy at the last few corners to give yourself more room for error. This will be your new personal best ghost. What you want to do now is follow it around the track for the next 4 laps keeping close to it and stick just behind it through the last few corners and over the line. Doing this I managed to get laps 2-5 within 0.1s of the first lap. If you make a mistake then feel free to use DRS and KERS on the subsequent laps in order to catch up to your ghost.

If you have already set fast lap times on all the track that you would struggle to consistently keep up with, then I'd recommend downloading a ghost from the global or friend leaderboard that is maybe a few seconds slower than your best, one that you could easily keep up with around the track. Then just apply what I said above to all 5 laps and this downloaded ghost.

If you would rather not try to follow your ghosts and match your time you can follow the method outlined by Tactical Tom in his thread. It explains what to do but the video below shows it all just as well. One thing to remember is to turn off tire wear and damage just in case.

If playing legitimately, this is by far the hardest achievement in F1 2011. You will have to work on your consistency as a driver to post 5 laps successively that are within 0.25 seconds of each other. For the average driver, this will require a lot of practice and patience as even the slightest mistake will void your run and 0.25 seconds doesn't allow any room for screw-ups.

Here are some tips to help you practice for consistent lap times:

  • Use the Red Bull. It is the smoothest car to drive and has the best traction.
  • Know your braking points and stick to them. Try to find markers around the track that make it easier to set up a braking point you can remember.
  • Stick with your shifting-rhythm, meaning: try to downshift on each corner like you did in the previous lap.
  • Use KERS and DRS on the same parts of the track on each lap.
  • Don't force it. If you're not having any luck, stop your session and unwind a little - trying to force it usually makes your lap times worse.

Luckily, you are allowed any and all driver assists.

Alternate method (easier): See this post here.
