How to unlock the Elite Racer achievement in F1 23 - Definitive Guide

Elite Racer achievement cn_guide is not easy. First of all needs skills, competitive setups and patience. I create a guide about elite hunter trophy.

1) First of all how ranking works. Like other ranking games every season rank renewing. Its better to start when season starts to have time. Not in the middle. Second there are 3 or 4 steps of promotions to go to the final stage. If you buy the game today and go to rank you are bronze metal. If you stay bronze there is not relegation because there is not lower step. Bronze and Silver 1 stay there and promotion Silver 2 & Gold 1.

The promotion steps: bronze, silver 1, silver 2, gold 1, gold 2, gold 3, elite.

2) Ranking points is not only racing performance but also clean laps combos (strict cutting system) penalty's and collisions. Example you can finish 5 place of 20 opponents and take 5 points and a clear driver at 12 place to take the same... to be clear driver.

3) Every weekend the rank give you three tracks. For me choose to play the tracks you are better. Also if you're a player with racing stability choose citys circuits like azerbaijan, monaco, singapore, texas and stay last of the grid... new circuits like texas and Quatar many players are not competitive. If you training and apply a setup (F1 laps site have a lot) you have chance.

4) A big problem of the ranking is the lack of players. It's not sober to play with 3-6 players because give you less points and also if you crash DNF it's problem to lose points... First of all if you crash stay to the lobby not quite. if you quite you lost 55-60 points if dont the half of them. DONT QUIT...

VERY VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE LOBBY HOST. RESET THE TIMER NOT STARTING THE GAME. WAITING PLAYERS TO JOIN.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/LmDTHDMwZvJNuFDQ8

press settings, setting filter expert cn_Y, go to Pit Lane Tyre Sim and switch on-off. and waiting players. for me at least loddy have to 10 > players.

5) RACE STRATEGY

For me the most important. Before the Qualiflying is to see the weather. If the race is wet obtain a wet setup and complete a bad lap. Weather with intermediate tyres at race or qualy, edit the aero for better handling. To be ready of every senario.

Strategy dry race. For me if your place is on the top choose soft. middle and back medium tyres. .

About pit stop if you have a race like mexico 18 laps choose 8 laps soft and 10 medium.

If front of you there're battle choose to pit a lap earlier for medium or hard.

6) Sites with setups (CONTROLLER &WHEEL)

the best for me

https://www.f1laps.com/setups/tracks/

https://f1setups.com/

https://racinggames.gg/f1/f1-23-italy-setup-online-my-team-c...

*It's rare but some times the game not give you to load setup. TO REMEMBER FIRST THE DIFFERENTAL ADJUSTMENT ON THROTTLE & FRONT BREAK BIAS. TAKE ONE OF THE 5 STOCK SETUPS AND CHANGE THE TWO OF THE CAR IN THE QUALIFLYING. WHEN STARTS RACE FIRST LAPS ALL CARS IS GHOST.

Big lobbies are great, but I spent a lot of time grinding 6-10 person lobbies as well. Learning and studying each track so that you are able to qualify well greatly reduces first lap incidents. From there it is all about posting clean laps and working with your opponent's instead of against them. Let the chaos happen around you instead of being at the center of it - allow faster cars to pass easily on straights and use them to improve your pace instead of fighting them and slowing your race down or risking an incident. Dropping your ego and racing without emotion is really important. You cannot be someone who fights for every position and even when someone breaks your wing or ruins your race, you really need to just suck it up, pit, and salvage the race by putting in clean laps and avoiding a DNF. Better to take a slight -3 to -10 points than to retaliate and crash someone out and lose -50. When you do get wing damage in the first few laps, unless it is very minor, you should just pit and put Hard tires on.

But ultimately, just focus on your own pace and improving it over the course of each week. Enjoy the chaos and the crazy shit you see race to race. Never give up, there is always the possibility of an incident at any point in the race, even on the final corner. Honestly, I really enjoyed this achievement and playing ranked, even if it was maddening at times, it was also rewarding.

I'm agreeing with you Dfaultz. I think it is not that hard as a decent/average driver and definetly possible with some determination. I'm also just Gold II, but had the chance to almost go to Elite or GoldIII last week, but because some crashes I lost the necessary points. And there is the biggest problem to do this achievement, and this problem are dirty drivers and in my experience there a lot and they completely destroy your race. Happenend to me too many times (brake-testing and other intentional crash while you overtake). And the punishment system from this game is a joke.
I would prefer and it would be a lot of easier and less frustrating, if all cars would be ghosts. I know it would be less realistic but it would be more enjoyable. But since nobody get any punishment (just for corner cutting) the realistic aspect is completely gone.

What I would add to this solution is, that the time of your first race per week can make a difference how many races you have to do. If you start on Monday in your new division it is more likely that you have to compete against people the whole week and do a lot of races.
What I did now lately is just start your first race on a Thursday/Friday or even on Saturday. Most likely it will happen that you have to compete against people who also just started at the end of the week (the maximum of points someone had in my experience was around 100). From this point you dont have to do so many races and just put some determination into it on the weekend. But maybe someone of you have another experience with that and was put into a group where the others had already a lot of points. But this was not the case for me till now.

As of this writing, I'm at 1750. +641 to 2nd and +820 to 3rd with only two promotion spots and about 2 hours to go. I am by no means a fast player. I got into so many damn incidents (some my fault) with so many damn people over the course of the week, but I pushed for it and it looks like I'm going to get this stupid achievement done, but only because:

1.) I didn't work this week LOL so I was able to grind almost every day. I shot for at least 250-300 points a day, and between inconsistent driving and the stupidity of others (and myself), that took anywhere from 6-8 real-time hours of playing, mostly sitting in lobby screens. As mentioned in comments above, you have to get lucky with regards to whose in your group. Maybe they played as much as I did, but no one in mine really got close in points once I went up by 300+. My lead was big enough when I logged off Saturday night that I didn't have to play at all on Sunday (which was great because I was at work all day).

2.) I was in Gold 2 this week, having been demoted from Gold 3. I had a better go of finding (fuller) lobbies and finishing in the top half of them in Gold 2 than I did in Gold 3. You also get matched with silvers from time to time, meaning bigger lobbies and more points. Also, track selection was bugged. 8 different tracks came up as opposed to the normal 3, which honestly was much more fun and maybe was a factor in this week being more popular? Idk. I could only ever get lobbies of 8 (at most) last week. Played at the same times this week and I could get 10+ more often.

3.) I think there's some kind of underlying skill-based matchmaking because when I did well in lobbies with silvers and Gold 1s, my next lobby seemingly only had Gold 2/3/Elites. When I inevitably did poorly in those lobbies, it felt like I got "demoted" back with the silvers and Gold 1s and could rack up some easier points again. So, maybe that's a thing and if you do bad against higher ranked players, you should stick with it and maybe you'll get dumped into a less-skilled lobby. But again it's just a theory.

Anyway, that was my experience this week. If you're thinking about going for this achievement, maybe don't lol it was such a time sink and your competitors will frustrate you beyond belief. But honestly, there were times where I did have some fun battles and good competition. I got so many wacky T1 crash clips lmao. I think this made me so much better at the game too (though I definitely hit a skill ceiling on controller) and it's a shame there isn't a better penalty system in place to deter at least some of the ramming/brake-checking/yeeting-car-into-T1 because online racing can be a LOT of fun. But I'm glad it's (almost) over. This achievement is definitely going in my "Waste of My Time" Hall of Fame.

There's really not much advice I can give to helping attain this. I just hit Elite and it really does demand so much of your time. The most important thing is to be as clean as possible in lobbies as big as possible. The more people, the more points. I typically finish top 1-4 on every race and in a big lobby (15+ people) it nets me about 110-150pts. Dirty driving, retirements/quitting and small lobbies will really impact your ability to grind this out. During my final week from Gold 3 to Elite, you really have to dedicate a lot of time to this, as all the other racers in your division are quick and playing a lot also. This is just one of those achievements you simply won't be able to get unless you're good at racing games.

Patience and determination and the biggest aspects to achieving this. I'm above average in skill I'd say, but nowhere near the best.
Winning in the earlier divisions was relatively simple but, as mentioned by erod550, the Gold tiers have a difficulty spike and my win ratio dropped.
I managed to get the achievement without winning a single race in Gold 3 - even podiums were scarce. The key was, as mentioned, keeping the races as clean as possible and getting finishing positions in at least the top 50% of big lobbies (15+ players). It was slow and steady but my persistence paid off.
In terms of time I was put in 10 hours each week for Bronze and Silver 1, but then 20 hours and 30 hours a week for the Gold 1 and Gold 3 tiers respecitvely.
It's a big time sink, but just wanted to give my play through, and how I got their without being as good as the other players you come across.

Also should mention that the first lap having all cars be ghosted is only in the lower tiers. In Gold I I wasn't as careful as I could have been coming out of turn 1 better than the car in front of me, assuming we'd be ghosted, and I broke my front wing and ruined my entire race. So don't rely on the first lap ghosting once you're out of Silver.

I have to say im a decent level F1 racer (On Pad) but, i am finding this rather easy. Im in Gold I & will easily be in Gold II or III by the end of the week & have only just started a couple weeks ago. surprised the ratio is so high! That said im terrible at other games people would find easy :)

After getting promoted to Silver I for the first time, do I literally have to finish top of my group to get into Gold I or is it going to be easier next week if I finish in Silver II?

By Neo Yggdrasill on 27 Feb 2024 06:34
Well, my group got bigger and now there are two spots for promotion into Gold I. Questions remains the same, so I suppose it's more likely getting into Silver II wouldn't make it easier. Not sure how people get added to a group, there are still 61 spots left in mine.

Can I already get promoted into Elite once I reach Gold I?

By Neo Yggdrasill on 27 Feb 2024 15:07
In short, no.
I was Gold I last week and the two top players in my group advanced to Gold III (i was able advance to Gold II with place 4 in my group and 600+ points).
I think you can advance max two divisions at once, with some exceptions.
From what i observed, it goes up like this:
Bronze --> Silver I
Silver I --> Silver II or Gold I
Silver II --> Gold I
Gold I --> Gold II or Gold III
Gold II --> Gold III or Elite
Gold III --> Elite

After testing a bit more, I think the solution needs to reflect in a more firm manner that being clean and having a decent race is more profitable than winning against Elite players and not having any clean laps to show at the end of the race. I finished somewhere close to the edge of the points last week, but I had about 13 clean laps and I gained 70 points, the highest I had ever gotten. Obviously, if players in higher ranks than you get into trouble or even DNF, it's your gain, but remember to drive as fast as you can while keeping it clean.

That's all true. Still, the biggest problem are those guys that plays Call of Duty on wheels and screw your race no matter what. This game should implement better detect mechanisms when someone ram you, push you into a wall for no reason, that penalty those nasty rammers more. Another problem i observed is, when you in a lobby and race is about to start (time counting ends), quite often lots of players leave, if the lobby isn't almost full. It happened many times when i was left with one or two players and they also leave on quali, leaving me alone, and the game kicked me out to the main screen with lots of negative points :/.

It's brutal. Most of top gold and elite drivers are on wheel/pedals setups, drive without any assists and with manual shifting. That's your 3 seconds loss on a lap. The biggest thing (i think) is TC off and shortshifting. I can't manage it on a controller. Yesterday i've got 90 or so points from 3 races and on the 4th one the game decide to kick me out while loading a race (-59 points), i got some points on next 2 races and suddenly my points got zeroed without a reason ... go figure.

I honestly thought the portion of those people wouldn't be that high but those are exactly the people that stick with the game and play these modes.

I should manage Gold I and see how it goes from there, I won't lose my mind over it though. It'd be interesting to know how achievable this is going to be when the game inevitably dies.

Also WTF is with that recovery mechanic? If someone makes a mistake and spins right in front of me I'd expect them to lose more than just 4s. 🤨

Edit: I also just lost points for no apparent reason. Didn't get kicked or anything, started the race with 185, at the results screen it was down to 168 (gained another 18 so it's at 186 now).

^in my experience you lose points when you finish behind too many players at or below your current division, even if you have a clean race. Penalties for corner cutting or contact feel magnified as a result. Even a single incident can cause a negative points result. And as I'm discovering right now in Gold III, that problem gets worse as the lobbies get smaller.

So in the Silver and Gold 1 lobbies, you wanna shoot for top half of the grid.

I've been slowly bleeding points this week because I can only find lobbies with 2, 3, 4 players max (6 if I'm lucky), and because they're in Gold III as well (and because I'm not as quick), I finish last and just lose points every race. Awful system they've implemented.

No, you misunderstood, I didn't lose points in the race (I gained 18), I just suddenly had less points than I had before for no reason.

Nice, someone just pushed me into the wall when I was in 3rd place out of 19 people.

This is fucking stupid, like what am I supposed to do? I'll let it run out cause I'm pretty sure quitting would be even worse for my points but if I also have to deal with stupid shit like this then that's definitely a no thanks for me.

Edit: They received a warning, in actual F1 that would've legit resulted in a ban cause they fucking rammed me into the wall from the side at high speed for no reason other than to take me out.

Just yesterday I got rammed into because the person who rammed me was mad somebody else crashed into them. This happened in four separate occasions. This community is absolutely fucked.

By Anima Pura on 03 Mar 2024 16:30
Legit the only way I get negative points is because someone destroys my race by pulling some stupid bs. This makes getting into gold already more effort than it should be, I'd rather race on safety rating C tbh if it was an option, not sure I'm gonna make it cause someone casually busted out 600 pts over night and the other spot is 370 right now. I was at 369 but just got brake tested and rammed into. The system is absolutely screwed.

And yeah, following up on one of my earlier comments I'm pretty sure you should let it run out if you get eliminated to lose less points. (Edit: The solution actually mentions this, my bad)

I think for an average skilled racer there is a lot of luck involved to get Elite Racer achievement. The most important thing is who you get in your group. Last week i did like 10 races a day (starting on wednesday), sometimes 15. I ended up with 600+ points. At times, in an hour i lost all points gainded earlier that day which cause a lot of frustration. I was on Gold II and it was a moment on sunday when i was #1 in my group with provisional advance to Elite. However, it was two very skilled guys in my group, they raced like 2-3 full lobby races a day (winnig them) and making sure they stay on top or near top of a group, some days they only check their position and not race at all. I was sure there will be fight between them on a last day and i am nowhere near to match them. And it was a nice fight i admit, they got from abt 600 points to 1600+ on sunday evening only, lol. I think i ended up 3rd or 4th with advance to Gold III (last time i check this morning). Not sure if it was wise because now i will not be able to race Silver racers, only Gold and Elite. I will give it another shot this week but i have no big hopes.

I managed to qualify into Gold II, as going straight to Gold III wasn't an option with the two no-lifers who already had a 500 point advantage this time last week. Now you gain about 20 points for finishing in P6 in a lobby filled with Gold players. This turns into who can churn out more races in a week and it's fucking dumb.

An achievement based solely on how much time you have/are willing to grind out races that you will inevitably get crashed out of because some child wants to ram into you or brake check you is absolutely ludicrous. At most i manage to get 90 points a week IF im lucky enough to have a rotation of tracks i can actually compete on and never get promoted out of Silver 1...This should NEVER be a thing. Thanks EA.

I finally did it. Your best chance is reaching Gold 2 and then making it straight into Elite by completing races with as many people as possible and getting as many clean laps as possible. It's a time sink and needs some skill too, so... good luck!

I’m driving for the second season in a row - I still can’t understand what exactly the points are made up of. Sometimes I win back only 3-4 places per race and make 3-4 dirty laps - the total is plus 45 points per race. But sometimes I start from 19th place, come 11th, winning back 8 places in the race, all 13 laps in Las Vegas are perfectly clean... in the end I get minus 15 points for the race. For what? What kind of system?

I have a question, how many players do you need to start a ranked match? it can be double boxed? then fill with IA¿?
0
0
By Concetto18 on 29 May 2024 11:33
You need at least 2 players, there is no AI in ranked, and you have no control over who joins your lobby. I can't see how double boxing is an option, as idle cars are disqualified, and the game will end with just 1 player, resulting in you losing at least 50 points.

Difficulty ramps up very quickly once you get into Gold. I'm in Gold I and on the first day of the week to get promoted to Gold II is minimum 85 points, and will obviously go way up from there. I have trouble finding matches as it is and get at most 11-19 points per race IF I manage to win, which I have not managed yet in Gold. So I might end up having to just settle for the Gold rank achievement and let the Elite one go. Maybe it will be easier to get promoted further down the road when multiplayer dies completely. Although if you can't get matches with people lower than you, you'd have to have multiple dummy accounts getting promoted too just to have someone to race against.

Edit - 3rd day of the week and minimum to promote is 207 points with still 4.5 days to go. Guess that's that.

Thanks for the response, still wondering if it's be easier to get into Gold I from Silver II though I highly doubt it. The system is a little stupid, it's pretty much down to luck what kind of people you get in your group and how competitive it is going to be. I got 2 spots for promotion into Gold I and for whatever reason my group stays at 39 people total. It doesn't seem too bad for me right now but you could easily end up with people that are actually really good and playing a lot that could ruin your chances at getting promoted.

I'm starting to think that this is going to be the first game I started in the last two years or so that I won't be able to complete. I didn't think I would be that bad, but lobbies are full of people that are way faster than me and I don't think I have the drive to grind this game to the point where I'd be good enough to get Elite, especially not with a controller (only got an old Fanatec wheel for my 360 and PC that isn't compatible with a Series console). I'm just wondering if smth about my style of driving is fundamentally wrong or if it's combination of many things. Like in Saudi Arabian for example I'm constantly 3s or so slower than the people at the top. I know corner exits speeds matter tremendously there but man, didn't think I'd be that far off. Also wondering if there are people that are way quicker than me that are using automatic shifting or other assists.

How can they justify taking your points of you when the game decides to abandon a race? I was just 12 laps into 18 at a wet Hungary when the host left and we got a migration. When it came back we had to start the race all over again. And then 4 laps into that one I got kicked out due to race having no players left. Lost over 50 points in my division for that.

The most difficult trophy in the game. First of all, it depends on time - there is a "season" where each week, based on the rank in your group (max. 100 people, but I haven't seen more than 41, and at high levels there can be 10-20...) you or raised two levels up (only if the group has more than a certain number of players!), one level, left at the same level (the largest group) or dropped to a lower level.

The proportion is approximately like this:
23 = 2+3+13+5
40 = 2+6+24+8
41 = 2+7+24+8

Those. you can see how difficult it is to jump not just 2, but even 1 level higher because... the bulk of players remain in their division.

And the biggest pain:
you CANNOT leave the game - the penalty for quitting is from 45 to 51 (it’s better to wait until the end of the race and perhaps the penalty will be a little less - I was knocked out on the last lap in a high position and I even got a plus, otherwise it would definitely have been a minus)
You CANNOT crash - unless you crash early in the race and/or while in a low position
It is IMPOSSIBLE to drive dirty - even 1 cut without a penalty (only a warning) cuts off tens of percent
It is IMPOSSIBLE to ride in incomplete lobbies (less than 18) - when 18-20 players have a chance of getting a position in the top ten - but when starting in an incomplete one, you still need to be closer to the middle, otherwise it will be not a plus, but a minus...

At the same time, the game does not punish in any way those who hit you - you will also be to blame, and it will be good if you get off with a broken wing and a warning...

The whole question is whether it is possible to boost and how to do it....
I have NOT yet played in incomplete lobbies (when there are only 2-3 of you), but I assume that theoretically this is possible IF the game gives a plus for the first and a smaller minus for the second or third (so that the total amount is above zero). Otherwise, boost is impossible. Not to mention the fact that getting into such a lobby is not an easy task, there are others there too. By the way, I invite you...

There is only one plus: the PS4 + PS5 trophy is awarded automatically if you reach gold on one platform and then load it on the second and vice versa. I hope that the same will happen with the elite.

Being in the silver division, I ended up in a lobby with only 1 opponent. After the victory, 11 points were added.
In another race, at the start and finish of 5 out of 12, more than 40 points were obtained. So the tactics here are simple - fly into the crowded lobby and arrive no lower than the middle of the peloton. It’s difficult to count on jumping up 2 divisions (because you have to skate all 7 days), but you can go up +1. But the whole path to the elite will take at best a month and a half (if you have the skill)

I checked it in the bronze division: 3 participants, for 2nd place (a completely clean race) they gave... 5 points.
This was enough to move to silver 1 (1 level higher), but... extremely unprofitable in terms of time.
Perhaps more is given for the first one.
Thus, considering that in higher (such as gold) divisions you need to finish above the last position by +1-2-3, etc. boost as such is practically impossible. We just need help from those who have already received the elite (and these “freaks” even go there several times and DO NOT help - I don’t understand this, but that’s how it is for now).
