How to unlock the New Home Survivor achievement in Frostpunk: Edition - Definitive Guide
Just adding a guide to how I did this, keep in mind I did this with 160 people throughout the whole playthrough and had 1 scripted death, rejected all refugees and skipped picking up all survivors with my scout. You cant pause in game but you can pause in build mode, research mode and law signing. Always keep the game on slowest setting unless you aren't planning on doing much.
Let's start off with how I started out:
Day 1: Sign child labour safe places law, place the majority of your workers on wood, 10 or so on steel and the children on a coal pile.
Remove everyone from steel to build workshop behind the stockpiles once you have enough place engineers and start researching fast gathering.
Now we can start building medical post before midnight as well as all the tents we need all within the first ring. Leave space for a 2nd medical post later. You will have to cluster 4 or 5 housing outside the first ring but we will build a steam hub for that later.
Turn you generator on at 5:15 or 17:15 and put it into overdrive for the night.
Day 2: Turn off generator at the start of the workday. Sign soup law, build cookhouse and put 1 child in. Make sure it's set to soup. Build hunters hut, place workers before 1800.
At this point you can start building gathering posts to keep people warm while at work, just keep children on coal. The second item I researched was heaters since there was a temp dip coming. I probably sent a scout out around day 6 or 7 since I didn't really need resources as much. You can start signing extended and emergency shift laws after those first 2.
Coal: I would advise not to invest in coal mines, you can research this and use 1 up until the storm hits to help stockpile coal but it will have to be abandoned or sacrifice lives which means less manpower. In the end I was running 2 steam coal thumpers, 8 gathering posts with insulation upgrade, advanced heaters, steam hubs and field kitchens. My gathering posts were liveable the worst until the last day of the storm.
Generator upgrades and heating: upgrade range once, generator power max out, advanced couplings and research both efficiencies. Max out your heaters to advanced.
Other research: Infirmaries, I only really used 1 until the last couple of days of the storm I built another, I also upgraded them to heal faster and invested once into insulation. Upgrade all your housing including insulation. Upgrade all your gathering, gathering post insulation 2 may not be needed. I only used sawmills and steam steelworks.
Food: with 160 people I only upgraded to hunters hangars around day 20 or so. I had 4.
Faith law path: Sign all laws except house of healing and last law on middle tree.
Adaptation: Child labour safe jobs, soup, radical treatment, overcrowding, fighting arena, cemetery, public house, care house, moonshine. Nothing else really needed.

Thanks for the guide! I had to pick up some survivors because I ran out of workers. Ended with 230 people (accidentally accepted 3rd refugee group) and had quite many deaths.
For anyone going for this, don't give up even though all hope seems lost lol. This was a constant struggle for me and many times I thought there's no way out of this mess but somehow pulled it off.

Just got this achievement. It honestly isn't that painful or difficult unless you have a horrible beginning - Mid game.
Challenge: This is literally Hard/Extreme mode with NO SAVING and NO PAUSING! the game will only save when you exit the game
Note: When playing the game I lost on day 25 (storm comes on day 32 in this mode), but the game saved?
Edit: I think I found a way around losing the game and restarting. The moment you get anything close to a lose scenario close the game and re-load it This will set you on the current day and should give you 9 hours to fix any mistake you made.
!!!!DO NOT GO FOR ANY OTHER ACHIEVEMENT WHLE GOING FOR THIS ONE!!!!
Tips:
Day 1: Put the game on the slowest setting, and pass the law "Emergency Shift" and place 15 people on coal, 15 on Wood, 15 on Steel, and whatever is remaining on Wood. Rush all of these! you will be very close or get a "2 day" warning.
Once you have the recourses build a tech lab, and immediately remove all engineers to work on building and research the beacon.
Build 2 Medic Tents with your engineers filling them
Build another Lab when possible (the 1st lab and tents before this).
Day 2:
Build a Cook house and pass the "soup" law. This will give you around 3 days worth of food and gives you more time to prep before it becomes an issue.
Build houses, and gathering huts. (You need gathering huts before the 1st cold snap hits or your people will get sick very easily).
Day 3: continue like you would normally making sure to heat homes (I would recommend a steam hub as those can help expand your housing if you don't have enough time to rush a ring increase for the generator.
Continue like normal and good luck!
Hint: There are lots of videos out there of people who have beaten the game with challenges. Just watch a video that has a guy/gal playing through the survivor difficulty like normal no need to make this achievement hard on yourself :)

I had a storm coming on day 45 (the last one). Its based on when you discover Winterhome I guess.
