Upgraded all Skill Cards for one Horde class to Level 6

0.09%

How to unlock the Classy! achievement in Gears of War 4 - Definitive Guide

Upon doing the math, I have found the totals for each class. Note this is a maximum cost. (Meaning starting from level 1 on each card after you get it out of a box, and then only purchasing it up until it is level 6) It should cost you less if you have been playing horde and getting cards out of the boxes.

Soldier - 91,260
Sniper - 111,540
Engineer - 74,880
Heavy - 115,440
Scout - 120,900
General - 10,140

I do not believe that you need the general skills to unlock the achievement, but just incase, that's the total to buy and upgrade them from level 1.

The worst bit about this achievement is the luck element, waiting to get the first of each of the new cards so you can actually start crafting them.

If you had already maxed out ALL the Soldier skills to level 5 you might be better working for level 6 on that class than Engineer.
Greens - soldier 6 - engineer 8
Blues - soldier 3 - engineer 4 (both have 1 new)
Purples - soldier 3 - engineer 2 (both have 2 new)

Extremely bullshit achievement. I spent 25000 credits, and I only get 2100 scrap. And that was a good run. The purple horde cards rarely come up, most often you get a epic character or gun.

To confirm, you don't need the general skills.

Only the class skills are needed.

Does anyone know how many skill cards need to be leveled up to 6 for this achievement?

By CYKlone79 on 16 Oct 2017 01:02
@CYKlone79 - you have to level all the cards (green, blue and purple) for a single class to level 6. Engineer is the cheapest class in terms of scrap to do this, assuming you have found at least one of each engineer card (it took me a very long time to get the Overclocked card)

Super frustrating, cannot get the entry speed to drop for engineer, so I cannot work towards putting him to lvl 6, but I know the second I decide to focus on soldier, I will get one lol

This achievement is just stupid. Gears 4 had very reasonable achievements, it's the first one I decided to complete the Seriously (and did) and I had plans to do every achievement post launch, but then this came along. I've played gears4 more than any other game I own, but I'm not the type of person who puts 1000 hours into a single game, I like to vary, so this achievement will be one that I'll probably pass (and I know coalition did this to cash in on ppl that buy the packs for money, it just pisses me off).

The level of scrap you need is terrible. The good thing about the lost souls pack is you can at least count on 20 scrap per card. Occasionally get a 600 one.

8 months later and I still don’t have the Sentry Cost card - so annoying! It happily gives me so many duplicate weapon skins that I don’t need.

EDIT: I finally received it for completing Wave 50 of Hotel on Hardcore! Now to carry out the grind for getting scrap - need like 20k :-(

Alright I'm going to take a crack at this and try and make a solution for people post power glitch who are still endlessly grinding for this; this is my first time so please be kind wink:

UPDATED: 6/24/17 made a few tweaks and comments on what worked best in getting the achievement

Shout out to: Active, DRF Patch, D3LTA, and katerfone for making this possible

*

As stated before your best bet is to complete this achievement with the engineer. Your looking at about 75,000 scrap to do so.

I've been using a method on horde using the map war machine. To accomplish this your going to need this team make-up:
2x-Engineer running maxed out (Sentry Cost & Capacity, Repair Boost, Build Cost, Carry Speed)
2x-Scout running maxed out (Deposit, Health Boost, Pickup Distance, Speed, Energize)
1x-DPS Solider (Grenade Plants, Damage, Capacity Resupply and Assault Rifle Damage)

Put the fab near its spawn by the station cafe. Split into "South Entrance" and "Platform 3" (most of the time referred to as Blue and Gold sides) teams with an engineer and scout on each side. One engineer is going to need to stay with the fab to mass produce sentries and barriers. The DPS solider will cover the weaker of the two sides. Now in the back of the map you will see a giant COG right in front of the two archways and a smaller COG past it. Your going to place a barrier in the archway and a sentry BEHIND the giant cog. Now before the wave starts each team takes position on the smaller cogs to spawn push all enemies into the the platform rooms. Using this method level up your fab by making new sentries and letting them destroy old ones. Scouts run power back and forth etc etc. eventually you'll have enough sentries to spawn trap and have some reserves for the bosses. Using this method inconceivable/ ironman difficulty is not an issue at all. Keep making and using the inconceivable XP bounty (1200) and you'll make around 4,000 per run.

As far as what pack to get I believe depends on your situation. If your missing cards and need to unlock them go with horde booster packs or operations. If your in need of scrap I would go with elite or community packs that seem to have a much higher chance of dropping a legendary but almost guarantee epics (elites definitely guarantee and epic) especially to level up the epic skill cards. Probably for the greens and blues you can go back to taking your chances on horde booster packs.

Hopefully another and better solution can come out to make this even faster. But until then get ready for the grind fest. Best of luck to all of you!

I suggest Ops packs over Elite packs, much cheaper and Epics are quite abundant.

If Elites guaranteed a Legendary id be all over it!

Also, community packs are awesome! When they first rolled out Gary I got about 7 copies of him in a generally small amount of crates.

Another Feral Horde crate would be awesome, got quite a good amount of epic skills from those.

Where I'm sitting I still need 28k scrap, put almost 400 hours in, that is mostly MP though

Based on the fact that the war machine method can be completed faster than the developers playlist. So far I've been averaging about 65-70 minutes per fun I would lean towards that method. As stated before I'm making 4-5k each run depending on how many times I level up. How much time does it take you to do the developer playlist? How much do you make per run?

Thanks for the answer, I couldn't tell you how much time and credits the developer's playlist takes and gives, I don't have the season pass.

Do you know what would be the best pack to buy using real money if you want to get as much scrap as possible?

I mean probably community packs when they come around they have a much higher chance of dropping legendaries and epics but you will probably pay more for scrap than you did for the original game and still not have even made a dent in the scrap you need. Its obscene! This is just my personal opinion but I wouldn't give the coalition a dime. I would just try to do one to two runs a day and just keep storing up credits for the next community pack.

+1 for operations pack. Although this achievement is a joke. I will never get this achievement. I already re-upped 10 times, and i still need about 40k craps. I won't play another 2-300 hours for this sh!t achievement. I already played 500 hours. F!ck this DLC, i don't like it.

Hi Guys,

I have made a calculator that all you need to do is put in your current level of the skill and the number of cards you have towards the next level. All the boxes you need to fill in are in yellow and if you haven't acquired the skill just put 0 in the current skill level, likewise if you are level 6 and have duplicates above that level enter the duplicates and it will tell you the amount of scrap you can earn for selling them.

Any tips let me know

I personally just went with the Operations packs. That is where I got the majority of the cards I needed except for Overclock which is still outstanding.

Though the bigger barrier is the cost and the random number generator. Not knowing what you will exactly get.

I've completely given up on maxing engineer. I had at least 20k credits and used them all when they released new horde skills and have gotten god knows how many since release and have not gotten even ONE new engineer skill card yet. All I need for soldier is siphon and I'll have all cards for him unlocked so guess I'll be going for all his level 6 cards. This RNG is a complete joke the least they could do is make it like 1k credits each to unlock cards you haven't gotten one of yet.

I'll have to try operation packs! For now it seems like the community packs come around so often that its just better to save up for those. Like supposedly the Carmine brother pack is going to be back in a week or so. So I'm just stocking up on credits until that drops. Also I've been experimenting with the inconceivable bounty (xp vs credits) and right now because of my re-ups I'm getting 500 credits per level up so I think its the same but you can save 60+ scrap per bounty card cause the xp is a common

I've been doing a lot of grinding using this method and I have some feedback regarding the suggested cards. I believe that Sentry Speed is more useful than Barrier Health. As you only need 2 barriers when doing this method, and the enemies die so quickly, Barrier Health isn't that useful. Having Level 6 Sentry Speed makes the sentries kill enemies a lot quicker. The people I've been boosting with seem to agree. Any thoughts regarding this?

I'd strongly advise against buying any other pack but Horde packs... I've opened several elite, versus, operations and horde packs... and i've done the math, calculating the scraps that I got vs the price paid for that pack, and I can say for certain that I got the best results with the Horde pack. On those more expensive packs, you have to rely too much on luck to make it worth, and luck is never on our side when it comes to opening packs. #fikdik

@Corey Yeah every couple of weeks they bring out like a special one off pack exactly like the Oscar one though it's hard to tell whether or not the scrap to credit ratio is worth it'll depend on the cost of the pack and RNG

Regarding the grenade cards (capacity, damage, plants and resupply), what level do you recommend the cards be?

I know I have level 5 cards for the scout cards mentioned.
And level 6 for the engineer cards.

Want to make sure I get the right formula to ensure a successful run if I need to fill in a solider role.

@GTAmissions1 The higher the better but at minimum you need plants & damage as much as possible. Resupply level 1 is fine it just allows for others to make use of the ammo boxes and you never run out of grenades

@TheGreenxRanger: I find the Operations packs (800 credits) are the most efficient to get the purple cards. I have gotten two purples in one pack once.

Along with cards to be used towards scrap. Knowing that the biggest factor is the "random number generator" which randomly provides a set of cards.

When I buy elite packs I have gotten a purple card and blue card every time. Around 50% of the time I have got legendary. You can also get 2 epic cards in elite packs.

Elite packs don't guarantee a legendary, which makes them worse value than buying Operations packs. It's simple math really.

Most likely going to be stuck with the solider class. Accumulating enough scrap knowing that the odds are stacked against me if I can earn enough before the 10th re-up. Then I will most likely use the 1,200 credit bounty card. Enough to purchase three elite packs.

You should mention in the solution that this achievement is luck based. Some people may never get it if they can't get a complete set of cards in the first place.

The worst thing about that is you don't want to spend any scrap until you know which class you are going to get all cards to level 6, and the people boosting this want you to have max cards.

I am also at Wings 2 and still have not got enough scrap to max out my soilder. I waited forever for my Flow card so I went with my soilder since i had all the cards.

This has taken a long time. I have all my greens - everyone of them maxed at level 6 now since I stopped scrapping green cards. And yet, I am still 18K in scrap away from completing this.

As you get higher in rank, you get a lot less money so buying packs gets harder. Beware,

DONT scrap any skills while you are playing through this until you know which character you are going to max out.

I scrapped alot along the way BEFORE this DLC.

Hey @EbonHawk01 so I've been experimenting with different load outs and once I get the achievement (5,000 scrap away!!!) I will edit the solution and give final thoughts as to what works and what doesn't. When I run the engineer I do Carry Speed Build Discount Sentry Cost Sentry Capacity and Repair Boost. In the groups I've been running recently we do two of those and just chuck sentries in a recycling machine and get the fab to level 4 by wave 16-17 so not bad! In regards to Speed I don't particularly like it just because it chews through ammo so fast.

I have a solution for those who enjoy the grind and are looking for another speedrun.dance

As of today, August 27, 201, the coalition patched War Machine and Foundation. My video below will show you exactly how to speedrun the map blood drive. It takes roughly an hour, it's fairly new so feel free to try it and modify it to make it faster.

What you will need;

2x Scout
2x Engineer
1x Soldier

Happy hunting !

It's very
New so we
Don't actually know ! We just tried placing decoys everywhere in the middle and a couple sentries and it didn't spawn.

Scouts stay in the room
Engineers sit by the stairs just before the opposite room!
Soldier is a floater, can be anywhere

This is the best way so far (the method I was taught is updated and slightly different). Doing this I was able to Re-Up 10 times within approximately 45 days (doing some normal Horde in between).

There is also a Mercy speed run that works even faster (average of 42 to 47 seconds per wave).

Here's the Post August 25th Patch Foundation Speedrun model (Since War Machine no longer works):

Estimated completion time on Inconceivable: 60-65 minutes.
Estimated wave time, 50-60 seconds.

http://imgur.com/a/aL0jL

Classes Required:
Engineer (Probably should focus on sentry cost, health and capacity, but can also add barriers if preferred).
Scout (Best health and pickup cards, as usual)
2x Soldier (One running Siphon with extra grenades and grenade damage, other running HOD with extra grenades and Grenade damage)
1x Sniper (Called Shot, Precision Headshot, Precision Rifle, Precision Capacity, Marked Boost)

Now, position details:
Each Green line represents where a barrier should go.
Each red dot indicates 3 turrets that should be aiming towards the Town Spawn.
Yellow rectangle is the fabricator.
Each star indicates where a player should be where required.
- Scout should be on Piston room star
- Sniper should be on south grenade spawn star
- 1x Soldier should be on south star near statue
- 1x Soldier should be on ramps
- 1x Engineer should be with Fabricator
The purple shaded area indicates where enemies will spawn, and where siphon grenades should generally be planted (pretty much same as standard foundation play through. Focus on Town Spawn and Tree as main grenade plant locations, spares can go anywhere in purple).

The first 10 waves will be hardest, the sniper will need to called shot as many enemies as possible, focusing on harder ones first such as sentinels and DR-1s, before moving on to weaker enemies. To ensure enemies don't spawn in piston room, Scout should be staying put until later in the wave. Soldiers can freely move once the grenades have cleared the earlier enemies and begin mop up operations.

Engineer and Sniper can move anytime during the wave, they do not affect spawn locations. ONLY SCOUT POSITION DOES. The scout CANNOT Move from the piston room early on until at least half the wave is over.

Once the first 10 waves are passed and sentries are in, sniper can relax and assist engineer in moving pieces into place.

The rest of the 40 waves will play pretty much as the traditional speedrun methods.

It is highly recommended that you DO NOT play on Ironman. You get no credits for it to go towards scrap purchasing and at the same time you increase the chance of wiping on higher waves since no character can run team revive in the new method.

This should earn you about 5000 credits per match with the inconceivable bounty. At the moment the Onyx Swarm packs are giving about 800 scrap per every two boxes. Operations packs are you next be scrap bet after that.
