How to unlock the Aussie Rules achievement in GRID 2 - Definitive Guide

Like the other similar achievements (Spa Time, Gone in 60 Seconds, etc.), the best way to so this is to launch a Custom Event.

Type: Race
Tier: Four (IndyCar if available)
Rounds: Whatever
AI Drivers: Easy or Very Easy (you want them out of the way quick)
Track: Mount Panorama (Motor Racing Circuit)
Laps: 3-5 (you may start to run into traffic after that)

Make sure you set damage to Visual Only and Unlimited resets under advanced options.

Personally I was having trouble using the Agera R (too twitchy across the top of the mountain) but it seems to be fast enough to get the job done if you can keep it under control. The IndyCar is much easier to control but it's straight line speed is a bit of a handicap on the long straights.

Whatever your choice, make sure you're in the lead by the end of the first lap and then concentrate on the lap times. I managed to get the IndyCar round in 1:37.2 after about six laps of getting close.

I've been having a lot of trouble with this achievement. I have tried both the IndyCar and the Bugatti Veyron. My best time was with the Veyron and it was 1:40:55.

This is by far the hardest of all the time attack achievements in my view - Spa-Francorchamps I just had to clean up my turns, California Big Sur it was just practice and controlling my drifts, and the Wabash Run is all about racing line. The Bathurst track is a nightmare, everything from the uphill parts of the track driving some hypercars nuts (Agera R) to the corkscrew totally ruining your life, all the way to the stupid sandtrap that I can't seem to figure out a way to drift around.

I know I can get the time down below 1:39:00 if I just keep practicing, but does anyone have any tips? Is there some racing line trick I have to know? At the end of the corkscrew, when I take the big turn I'm always below 1:10:00 and a previous comment says that's a requirement. I must be messing up in the final two turns.

True, Agera R is far easier to handle here then on Spa. I did 1.38 with it.

I got 1.37 with the Bugatti in 4 laps. if you can keep a good speed when going down the S-curves you can do it will. you need to be at a time of 1.10 after you go past the Fidanza sign entering the straight before the final chicane. if you go past that sign and your over 1.10 you wont get it you'll just end up crossing the line at 1.39.something or more.

Update - took a break for the day to go to work, came back and got it in a few tries using the IndyCar. Key was the penultimate and the final turn. You lose too much momentum trying to double drift through the bend through the sand. Aim for 1:06 when you come out of the end of the corkscrew and then you have plenty of time to make the straightaway with the bend. Use drifting to go around the final turn. I got 1:38:87.

Absolutely. I lost count of how many I used getting it done.

Bugatti veyron on a reversed track nailed it for me on a 3rd round with 1.36.231. Best car for the job!

Guys, just remember to set replays to unlimited and abuse them. Bad turn? Rewind. I got it on my 2nd lap with 1:34 and about 50 rewinds used.

If u play on Xbox One like me, and don't have any savegame left, just play normally through the "tutorial" races and go to Custom Event with this settings:

Type: Race
Tier: 4(KOENIGSEGG CCGT)
Rounds: 1
AI Drivers: Very Easy
Track: Mount Panorama (Motor Racing Circuit Reversed)
Laps: 3 (u need 2 atleast, dont try it in first, just fast last corner)

Did it in first try with this settings, reversed is by far easier!!

You have a choice of going for this one either online or offline. If online, you can use upgraded cars; however I'd say that flashbacks are a greater benefit, therefore I'd recommend offline over online here.

There are multiple Tier 4 cars that are capable of reaching the target time:

  • Koenigsegg Agera - Long straights mean that you will only need a decent lap to reach the time, however the car is very hard to handle
  • Bugatti Veyron - You can use the long straights to your advantage with this car as well (just not as much as with the Agera,) however this one is much easier to handle. You will need to put in a good lap.
  • Audi R8 LMS - Slowest of the three on straights, but the easiest to handle (and fast through the short technical section during the middle of the lap.) You will need a very good lap with this one to reach the time.

While this can be done in any event type, I highly recommend doing it in Race. Start a race with the highest number of laps, unlimited flashbacks and the AI difficulty set to Easy.

Focus on getting the lead during the first lap. This way, you'll have a clean track ahead of you when starting the next lap. Depending on your choice of car, you may need a near-perfect lap in order to achieve this. Use flashbacks to your advantage () to determine the best route around the corners.

If you are really desperate, there is a corner that you can wallride (keep the accelerator floored through the corner while rubbing the outer wall.) Refer to the track map at the end of the guide - the corner in question is #4.
