How to unlock the A New Challenger achievement in Halo: Reach - Definitive Guide
For this achievement, click 'Matchmaking' from the main menu, then pause with START and select 'CHALLENGES'. From here you will see a list of five challenges, to obtain this achievement you must complete all of them except the bottom one, as that is the weekly challenge. To make things easier you can click on a certain challenge and it will put you into a suitable playlist for this particular challenge. Lastly, when you reach a particuluar landmark towards the challenge e.g. 50/100 kills, it will notify you during the game.

Every day bungie releases a set of 4 daily challenges for the community to try and unlock.
They can be found here: (And reset every day at 6AM EST)
http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/globalchallenges.aspx
You can also see these in game, by pressing the start button and scrolling down to challenges. The 5th and last one on the list is the weekly challenge, and it is not required.
Your goal is to complete all 4 goals in one day. Once you complete them all the achievement will unlock.
Most likely you will be asked to play all 3 modes (Matchmaking, Campaign and Firefight.) For achievements that are not gametype specific, it is usually easiest to play Firefight by yourself, on at least normal difficulty.
NOTE: When viewing the challenges in-game, you can press "A" on them, and the game will take you to the correct playlist.

After many days of trying, I finally got this one. I've found the easiest ones to get are the firefight challenges due to what MRMIdAS2k said. Some of the "do x in a single match" ones can be a pain, but keep playing and hope you get Rocketfight on Corvette. That is the Firefight standby due to the map being so small. Also, the less players the better, because that's more kills for you.
As far as other challenges go, the multiplayer challenges are more about grinding and sometimes dumb luck (i.e. x number of mulitkills in a single match).
Some challenges are about completing certain levels on legendary without dying (Good freakin luck!). Other involve completing levels with skulls on. And recently, they've been throwing in some random things like uploading a film clip (easy peasy).
Just my two cents.

Every Thursday has firefight challenges so it can make it easy for you

some tips for challenges i've encountered thus far, assuming they are in a rotation system.
multikills in firefight is best done in rocketfight, just hand out rockets to enemies dumb enough to be stood in groups, a triple kill counts as 2 multikills, overkill 3, etc, so always aim for large multikills where possible, This is easier now Firefight is 3 sets, especially on courtyard, where 2 rocket Killamanjaro's are easy.
kills, headshots, etc in firefight is pretty easy, just keep murdering until it pops, these kills should carry over between games too.
most multiplayer challenges are self explanatory, if you've gotta get assists, try to plug an enemy in a firefight with a teammate with a DMR or Magnum shot or take to multi-team, plenty of kill stealing there, if you have to avenge deaths, wait outside firefights, and pick off weakened enemies should they come out on top, Headshots is easy in SWAT.
Kills while jetpacking is tied to the "Firebird" medal, and only counts while you are thrusting with a jetpack, you can fire or lob your grenade while on land, but as long as you're off the ground with the jetpack firing, it'll count.
Close Quarters kills are best done in Grifball, 40 kills took me 2 games, so keep plugging away, and you'll hit your target eventually.
Kills in a single game is best done in either Grifball or Invasion, depending on the challenge, Kills carry between rounds, and Invasion tends to be a long game anyway, this is how I got the "4 sticks in 1 game" challenge.
Reaching a certain score in firefight (today is 20,000) is pretty easy, I went for Score Attack>FRG Fight on Unearthed. aim for multikills, and aim to have around 10,000 by the end of wave 3, skirmishers should be wave 4, who are easy to get multikills on, I ended up with 18,500 by the end of their wave, and then elites in the last wave are woth lots anyway, so top off your score on them.

I was only able to find the challenges listed in the game's menu and on this blog:
http://facetioussincerity.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.ht...
You are going to need to look on the left side in the blog archive. Find today's date and you will see the daily challenges listed.
As an added bonus, not only are the challenges clearly described, he explains tactics and gives some tips on completing them. If the current day's challenges seem unusually tough, it is likely the next day's will be more straightforward. They seem to vary greatly in difficulty day to day.
All credit goes to facetious sincerity. He is the author of this blog, I merely wanted to share it with the rest of you on here.

Daily Challenges change from day to day. To find your challenges, press , and scroll down to see Challenges. Select "Challenges" by pressing , and it will give you a detailed screen of what the challenges are for the day (as well as the weekly challenge at the bottom). It will show progress stats, and if you select that challenge, it will put you in the appropriate lobby to start working on the challenge. They are the four challenges at the top of the list. Complete all 4 challenges and you have completed all the daily challenges.
If you are unsure on what/which challenge is what, or how to complete the challenge, please refer to this: Daily/Weekly Challenges Thread
