How to unlock the Fool achievement in Hollow Knight - Definitive Guide

The Colosseum of Fools is located at the top side of Kingdom's Edge and is a contest of survival among stronger enemies you've fought until now. There are three rounds which can only be accessed by paying Geo: Trial of the Warrior, Trial of the Conqueror and Trial of the Fool. The first grants you Geo and a Charm Notch, the second grants you a lot of Geo and a Pale Ore and the last just gets you a lot of Geo and "the glory of being a fool". These survival rounds can be quite tricky as it throws all kinds of enemies your way, especially the Primal Aspid, which fires projectiles which is quite hard to dodge. To make it harder, there will be some sections which opens the floor to spikes, forcing you to stick to provided platforms or even force you to cling to the walls using the Mantis Claw.

The first two are okay, challenging but doable, though the Trial of the Fool is very hard. It's recommended to do it with the Pure Nail, all Mask Shards, Vessel Fragments and as much Charm notches as you can get. The recommended Charm build would be: Quick Focus, Mark of Pride, Quick Slash and Grubsong. If you've got the last Charm notch by defeating Troupe Master Grimm, then replace Grubsong with Soul Catcher. This set revolves around using your nail to attack from a safe distance to lower the risk of an enemy running into you and accidentally hurting you but with Soul Catcher or Grubsong, you can gain more Soul which will be useful with Quick Focus to heal any damage took. A good strategy is to defeat all the enemies of a round and leave one weak opponent, my best pick would be a Shielded Fool as they're slow and don't attack often and use this time to heal. One other strategy you can use is to have Dream Wielder and use the Dream Nail on said Shielded Fool over and over to stockpile Soul for the coming rounds. The last boss you'll face in the trial of the fool is God Tamer, which is a warrior with a large beast. Just focus your efforts on taking out the beast and the warrior will surrender and once that's complete, the trophy will be yours.

The third test was carried out with amulets: quick strike, long nail, nail master's halo, shaman stone and trickster. The first two are clear why, with the halo you can quickly cut out flying creatures, the shaman stone deals additional damage with magic and quickly destroys flying magicians and other unpleasant creatures + you can spam fireballs on the boss. Stuntman will allow you to be more mobile and live in the game in spurts. And don’t forget to use magic more often and take souls from the military and harpids.

Kill the creature at the boss, the rider will surrender herself after his death.

Feel free to leave it for the end of the game, it is much easier to complete with all the abilities, amulets, masks, shards, I highly recommend saving the Mighty Zot wherever possible before this test, he will appear near the bench (he will sit in a cage) in the coliseum and only then pass the test.

Don't bother and do it at the very end! Be sure to make FRAGILE FORCE indestructible for 15,000 Geo in one of the tents after summoning the TROUPE.

if it doesn’t work out, you can get it with an invulnerability glitch, the reward is only a trophy and 2700 geo.

Leave 100% to the end of the passage; this test’s difficulty arises in the moment of closed space and spikes. You can go with the combination of the hero’s scent + spores (the effect is enhanced) + song of the caterpillars + shield + dash with damage + weaver companions.

This is already hardcore, I spent about 50 attempts trying different builds.
As a result, I passed with the following scenario: indestructible strength + mark of pride + shamanic stone + song of caterpillars + thorns of suffering. In general, there is no panacea here. I watched several playthroughs, and each one has its own approach, based on skill and habit. But you can still give a couple of general tips:
1) You need to use a downward kick more often in a jump, it saves you in a segment with walls and spikes.
2) In the last third, leave the purple beetles with shields alive, they are very slow and you can easily heal when you are alone with them.
3) Before the last boss, it is advisable not to spend mana on healing in order to shower him with magic.
