How to unlock the Capell to the Rescue achievement in Infinite Undiscovery - Definitive Guide

This achievement takes place when you are attacking Castle Prevant after saving Aya. I also suggest doing this cheevo on Easy or Normal difficulty for best results.

Pre-Achievement Note: Make sure you Save before you enter Castle Prevant so incase you need to level your characters.

Also make sure you have some sunstones (can be bought at Nolaan or from Genma at the castle) and 1 piece of Iron Metal (dropped by Order Servants)and 1 piece of Marble (dropped by gargogyles) or both can be bought easily from Nolaan or Genma if you have downloaded the A Voucher.

Now once you pass the gate battle and enter the castle an internal timer will start, you will have 4 minute intervals to save each of the 4 guards (4 min to save the first, 8 min to save the second, etc.) if you do not save them within the time limit the guard will die and you will not be able to get the achievement.

Now for the process: As you enter the castle take your first right, then follow the hallway around to the left, then take another left and you will find a room with a treasure chest, open the treasure chest to get a "cell key". Now head back towards the entrance and just keep going down the opposite hallway and open the first closed door on your right, thats for Guard #1.

Now exit the room and keep following the same hallway(passing another locked door)around and you will take another right and at the end will be an enemy soldier. Kill the soldier and he will drop another "cell key", pick it up and open the locked door you just passed, thats Guard #2.

Now it gets a little tricky: Go back towards where you found the first "cell key", but instead pass where you turned left to find the room and take your next left down another hallway, follow this hallway all the way and eventually you will come to a dark corridor, here use a Sunstone so you can see and WATCH FOR THE TRAPS, as they do deadly damage. If you connect with Aya you can Surprise Attack the Gargoyles and disable their traps. Behind the 2nd Gargoyle you will find a rat, connect with Rico and talk to the rat and he will give you a "cell key". Now run ALL the way back to where the cells you opened were, pass the 2 you opened and follow the hallway until you get to the next locked door on your right, open it and that is Guard #3.

Now go ALL the way back to where you were, go through the dark corridor, follow the hallways (you will pass through another dark corridor) and eventually get to a room where there will be a cut scene and Edward will join your party. After the cut scene immediately save on a new slot, then have Edward create the 4th Cell Key using the Iron Metal and Marble. Now head all the way back to the cells, pass the door you opened prior and the last locked door will be just passed it, thats Guard #4.

As soon as you enter the room you will get the achievement as well as a Situation Bonus.

Alternatively, instead of going back to the cells after getting cell key #3, continue forward and get #4, then head back to the cells, but when I tried this numerous times, I was to late, but when I went back after #3 is when I got the achievement on the first try.

Three things:

1. The YouTube video is gone.
2. The rat is behind the SECOND gargoyle
3. Here is a nice map that shows trap locations and most efficiant paths. This map also prefers running after the rat to the end for Edward than back getting guards #3 & #4.

I also booked it, I didn't fight any enemies except for the second gargoyle. It took me a few tries to get it down.

Cheers.

This is one of the most retarded achievements I have EVER seen in my whole life.
The time limit is pointless, who would ever figure out to speak to the freaking MOUSE in pitch black darkness whilst carrying a Sunstone?

Tried it something like ten times, couldn't get it.. It only takes like an hour to get to, so I'll have to start a new game on Easy after I finish everything else.

I screwed up and wasted some time then saved the game within the castle next to Genma so after attempting the steps in this guide (which is great BTW) I would never get the 4th guard in time, the cell would be empty. I decided after my 5th or so failed attempt to skip the mouse for key 3 and go straight to the reunion and have Edward craft 2 cell keys. Ran back and unlocked cells 3 and 4 and achievement popped. Just wanted to share for anyone still trying for this.

After beating the game on normal, I am going back thru on hard and trying to do it completionist style. After many failed attempts, I finally got this achievement- and without Edward! Here's what I did: Rested with Genma, bought a marble and 4 sunstones (I already had the iron). I wanted to eliminate the time required to open chests (and was still planning to need Edward to craft a 4th key). Then I got the key from the BSCH to the E, opened and entered cell 1, killed the guard to the W who held another key, opened and entered cell 2. Then I booked it upstairs. I did not stop to open any chests (including ones in the cells I unlocked), fight any enemies (kept my sword shiethed) until I got to the 1st dark passage. It's okay if your party members get left behind or killed- just keep going. Then kill the first 2 gargoyles in the dark passage, used Rico to get the key from the mouse, then booked it back downstairs- again, I did not stop to fight anything and avoided the traps that set off the gargoyles. When I got back to the cells, cell 3 was already unlocked (how? I have no clue) so all I had to do was walk in to free the prisoner (yes, he was still alive), then used key 3 to unlock cell 4. (Yes, the game told me I had the situation bonus and Xbox unlocked the achievement.) Not sure what combination of things made it work like that, but maybe it can help someone else struggling with this achievement.

i know this solution is super old but the "bugged" dor worked for me. Get first key 1 and 2. Then walk through up to the first "dark" section. At the second gargoyle there is the rat. Just talk with the rat (link with Rico) and get the key from the rat. Walk back to Cell 3 (its allready open for free) then walk to Cell 4 and open it with the "rat" key. Achivement poped. I get to cell 3 after 11 minute 30 seconds its a really really tight time window but is absolutely doable :)

Crimson Drifter's preparation tips are good to know, but how I pulled this off easy was this: set the difficulty to low, MAKE SURE YOU GET: sunstones and *2* marble and *2* iron metal from Genma (you can get access to these materials at merchants through a free DLC). Reference the map in Crimson Drifter's post:

Make sure to open the cells starting from Cell 1 in a clockwise fashion. Make sure you're set on easy and just bum rush it. Sheathe your sword so you run faster and then leave your party behind. Grab the first key from the treasure chest around to the east and run back and open the first cell. Then, keep going to the west and around the corner and kill the guard at the end of the hall for the second cell key. Go back and unlock the second cell.

Now, bum rush past everything all the way to the top room with Edward. Do not bother with the mouse. Dont's stop to fight guards, leave your party behind to die. Make sure you're set on easy and refer to the map above for where the gargoyle traps are and skirt around them, although they are survivable on easy. Use a sunstone when about to enter the darkness and when you know a trap is coming up just walk slowly and skirt around it. Your party will not be smart enough to do so so leave them behind as I said.

Once you get to the top room with edward have him make TWO keys instead of the 1 he'd make with the other methods. This is way faster than making a whole nother trip upstairs and back. This way you dont have to bother fighting any gargoyles and dragging rico up to talk to the mouse while keeping him alive to get the 3rd key, or fighting anything else with the exception of the guard with the second cell key from earlier.

After smithing the two cell keys with edward, bum rush your way all the way back down ignoring all enemies and hopefully dodging traps (if you eat one or two just chug a healing item). Once you get back to the cells you can open 3 and then 4 back to back without having to make a 4th trip upstairs or drag along the AI chars with bad pathing along with fighting to slow you down as with the other methods. I got it EASILY this way first try after trying the 4 trip method a ton of times and always failing.

Perfect solution!!! Worked like a charm. The thing I can't figure out is why anyone would give this a negative vote??

Worked perfectly.

I wanted to note that, if you've missed this achievement on other playthroughs, it takes less than an hour to get back to this position on Easy and get the achievement if you rush there and skip all the cutscenes. I just unlocked it at 45 minutes.

This is spot on, just bagged it on my hard playthrough, got taken out twice by gargoyle traps too. Much appreciated mate.

Not sure why, but when I went to go to the 3rd cell with both keys in hand, it was already open, and I didn't need to use both keys. I was playing on normal and was at about the 10 minute mark. Not sure if this was a glitch or if it happens every time

Just a heads up, from my experience, once you unlock each cell, you need to enter the cell for it to count. I kept opening 1 and 2 but never entering them then even after saving 3 and 4, it didn't count. After 2 runs without the achievement, I walked into each cell as I opened them and the soldier inside will shout something to acknowledge you saved him. Popped it first time when I did that. Hopefully this helps someone else if they didn't know either.

For this achievement you need to rescue four allied soldiers from the four cells in Castle Prevant. It doesn’t matter if the prisoners are killed, as long as you saved them from their cells before they died.

WARNING:
As soon as you destroy the castle gates, and enter the castle the time limit starts. Make sure you save outside the castle, so you can go back and level or buy items if needed.

You will need Sunstones for this achievement; they can be bought in the castle or at the Nolaan General Store. You may also want to stock up on Miraculous Medicine and any other healing items you can afford. Leveling your characters will help as well. I would suggest you try for this achievement on the Easy difficulty, as the enemies will do significantly less damage making it much easier to survive.

Time Limit:
The time limit allows you 4 minutes per soldier, so you will have 4 minutes to save the first soldier, 8 minutes to save the second, 12 to save the third, and 16 to save the fourth soldier. At the end of each of these 4 minute intervals a soldier is killed.

If ANY soldier dies before you rescue them you will NOT get the achievement.

Map:
A map including the location of all cells, keys, and treasure chests, routes 1 to 5 show where to go for each Cell Key and how to rescue each soldier.

(Castle Prevant - Map)

Note: You will need some Iron Metal and Marble for the fourth key. Iron Metal is dropped by the Order Servants make sure you get 1 piece at some point whilst going through the Castle. Marble is dropped by the Gargoyles, or can be more easily found in chest 9. If you have the "A Voucher" downloaded from the Xbox Live Marketplace you can buy both items from Genma.

Route 1 (Red):
Follow Route 1 to the southern room to find the first Cell Key, now head to Cell 1 and release the prisoner. Make sure to walk into the room after opening it.

Route 2 (Yellow):
Follow Route 2 to find a guard, kill him and use the cell key he drops to open Cell 2.

Route 3 (Blue):
Follow Route 3 to the mouse making sure to follow the map carefully to avoid any traps. Surprise and kill the Gargoyle by the mouse and then connect to Rico and speak to the mouse to get the third Cell Key.

Route 4 (Green):
Follow Route 4 until you arrive at the second dark corridor where you will need to surprise three gargoyles, the best way to do this is using Aya’s Ravaging Raptor connect skill, you don’t need to kill them after surprising them, just attack them to disable their traps. This is a good opportunity to get Marble if you haven't already.

Route 5 (Orange):
Once you have Edward in the party have him create the fourth Cell Key, then save your game on a new slot. Now head all the way back to the cells, and open Cell 3 and Cell 4, it doesn’t matter if your party is killed on the way back as long as Capell makes it.
