How to unlock the Our Bonds achievement in JUMP FORCE - Definitive Guide
EDITED ON 8/28/2022: Spike Chunsoft has shut down the servers, but they somehow only removed the ability to play ranked and send challenges. They somehow kept the ability to play quick matches and send invites to friends.
They also changed the unlock requirements to 2 achievements so that you can unlock them after the servers shut down.
That means that this achievement is obtainable and you can still perfect the game.
Nothing much really changes here other than you can unlock the win a ranked game by winning a quick or Friendly match. And that challenger is unlocked by playing 10 friendly matches against invited friends.
I'll reinstall the game and see if method 3 still works either later today or tomorrow. I'll just unlock a title I don't have and if a title unlocks then method 3 still works.
EDITED ON 8/29/2022: After reinstalling the game and playing a mix of 40 quick matches and friendly matches, I can now confirm for a fact that titles unlock. Which means that matches are still being tracked and that you can still unlock this and all the other achievements in the game.
This is possible because the servers are Peer to Peer, meaning that so long as another person is searching or if you invite them you will play a match. I don't know if this was how the servers always were or if Spike Chunsoft changed them before the shutdown, but kudos to them.
I also made some minor changes to the guide to reflect the matchmaking post-closure and achievement changes but nothing to make that big of a deal about.
EDITED ON 12/25/21: Realized I probably should write that Jump Force currently is scheduled to have its online servers shut down on 8/24/22 and that this and all the other online achievements will no longer be available after that day.
Also Jump Force is scheduled to be delisted from the digital store on 2/7/22, if you have already bought it digitally then you should be able to reinstall it even after it is delisted.
Alright, so while this achievement could be summed up as: "go to the online battle counter and play 100 matches, done"
The point of this guide is to try to be efficient with your time so you only have to play 100 matches to get all the online achievements.
First off, the match has to finish for it to count. If a disconnect happens, the match does not count.
Now, I strongly recommend getting the challenger achievement as either your first 10 or your last 10 fights.
These 10 fights count towards your 100 fights total and while there is an in-game battle log that keeps track of your 99 most recent fights, there is no way to know the specifics of any match.
EDITED ON 8/29/2022: With the changes Spike Chunsoft did 'Challenger' is now obtained by fighting an invited friend 10 times in Friendly match.
Now then, you can get three achievements at the online battle counter though only two are tied to it:
You can register teams from the start menu as well, but since we're here anyways.
You can also get:
and
for winning yourfirst ranked and first friendly match.
So, this will put us at12 11 matches out of 100 total.
You've probably noticed by this point that you've unlocked at least 4 titles. All of the titles in this game can only be earned online and I have made a list of titles I found with commentary/advice as a guide in:
Regardless of if you use my guide or not, you can't get 50 titles using only one team of 3 so switch up your teams as you play.
Now, there are three methods(really two, when the third one eventually gets patched) for getting those remaining 88 matches:
Method 1: Legitimately Play
Yeah, just play. Right now, there is not much of a wait for a match and even later down the line there will be a few people playing when the DLC characters get released.
This is the slowest of the methods even when set to best of 3, since even if you find a match quickly load times are still a thing and that's not even counting the match itself. You always have the option of throwing the match away by being idle but it will still take time.
Method 2: Boosting with a friend
Under Friendly match you have the option to invite a friend and after the fight is over you can search again immediately.
This method is faster since one of you will probably take the fall. Unfortunately while you can escape the search time you can't escape the load time.
If doing this method, you have to do 10 challenge fights each for both of you to unlock challenger.
Method 3: Forfeiting Glitch/Feature
THIS WILL GET PATCHED Edited on 12/25/21: It never got patched
You can search for a friendly match under no preference and then as the match starts press 'start' and forfeit. There is no penalty* for this, you can do this over 100 times in a row without so much as a slap on the wrist.
This is a scumbag method, it will be patched. But it's not patched yet and you can do your 88 matches in about 3 hours. It takes about 2-3 minutes for each 'match' for the search and load times. Ideally, you'd combine this with boosting to speed it up some more.
Right now, you get credit for each match, you get credit towards character titles, you earn active points for each match, and you contribute to the multiplayer season. Right now, this is a feature.
This made it past the 3 GB update from 2/22/2019, Spike Chunsoft has at least 9 more tries to patch this (one for each DLC character) so abuse while you can.
Word of caution, achievement might take a while to unlock. I got it to unlock at 103 matches instead of 100, but after asking around this seems like it was just delayed by 5 minutes.
Long story short, there was no possible way that forfeiting doesn't count because when the achievement unlocked for me 4 of my matches were forfeits. So, 103 - 4 = 99 matches.
*The sole penalty for forfeiting is that the match does not count as a win for the 'victim', that's it. They get the 'win' but apparently it's a hollow victory because they don't get any progress towards victory titles.
Feel free to comment below about how much of a scumbag I am and be sure to let me know that I'm a liar when forfeiting get patched when the first DLC character arrives in May.

When you start a fight, immediately press options and give up, if you are boosting with a friend, then press revenge and so on until victory

In every fight, agree and offer revenge yourself. This way you can get your reward faster and have less time to wait until you connect with another player.
