How to unlock the Fast for a biped? achievement in Jurassic World Evolution - Definitive Guide

There are a lot of players having trouble with this achievement. So i am making this post to assist in how i got it. I will update it as i do need to do another run so i can take notes of the final numbers on each dinosaur

1. Do this on Isla Matencerros or Isla Muerta, they have the lowest Par times/ requirements on hard, vs the other islands. You can attempt this on other islands but it might be harder.

2. Do not mod any dinosaurs. I did this with 0 dinosaur modifications. But i incubated everything at 100% genome, or as close to 100% genome as i could. The problem with modding, especially in the last stretch. Is that any small mod will raise the price of the dinosaur significantly Vs you will get more rating if you save the money and just make another dinosaur.

3. Start building your park from the main entrance, inwards. If you start from the middle or the back, your transport rating will be low and you will level up slower. Also in your initial purchases there should be at least a fast food and a clothing shop to get facility rating at 5 stars right off the bat.

4. Money comes in slower in this difficulty, so you need to focus on your dig teams. Get the extra dig teams from research centers as early as you can. Have all slots on the Expedition center on Dig Yield. And all slots on the Fossil center on Inventory Space( if you start to get crammed with fossiles change one slot to extraction speed). Never Stop digging. As soon as your team come back, go to the menu and sell the stuff they bring in that you do not need.

As soon as you can get the research cost upgrade, apply 3 of them to your research center in order to lower research costs. Until i had 3 stars i only built 1 hammond center and would airlift dinosaurs to their pens. When i built Pens 6 and 7, Each had their own hammond lab

Dinosaurs.

Pen 1.

6 Triceratops
1 Edmontosaurus
2 Struthiomimus
3 Corythosaurus

Pen 2 (i call this the variery pen this one helps increase your dinosaur variety and lower the variety penalty for not having enough species) Its also cheap to maintain. Start with the ankylosaurus and add the others as you can unlock them. Other Armored dinos like sauropelta also work fine here or any other herbivore with low social requirements.

2 Ankylosaurus
1 Chrichtonsaurus
1 Nodosaurus
1 Polachantus

Pen 3
3 Ceratosaurus
3 Velociraptors

Pen 4
3 Huayangosaurus
3 Chungkingosaurus

Pen 5
1 Metriacanthosaurus
3 Dilophosaurus

Pen 6 and Pen 7

The next two pens are the most important. As soon as you reach 3 stars. Get to 100% genome.
Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, Camarasaurus, Trex
Build Pen 6 First and build dinosaurs until you have social/population gaps almost filled out.
Once Pen 6 is close to the cap. Build Pen 7 and keep pushing in those 4 species of dinosaurs in there.
I only did that for the last hour. I have no idea how many dinosaurs i had at the moment since my closest save is around 3 hours in.
Dont waste money with Indominous rex, Indoraptor or anything too expensive, you should be able to get there with just these. Your rating must be at least 4800 by the time you finish.

Managed to get it a 3:54. Will do another run on the weekend and will stream it

Good guide I will try it this way.
I have a question, how many hotels i need and doesn't I need 22 different species and a 7500 rating to break the diversity Malus and get 5 stars in dinosaur rating?

In matancerros only 2 hotels. i only had the species listed on the guide i believe it was only 16. . The requirements will change if you are on another island. So if you go to Nublar or a harder island, i assume you need to do more stuff

Ive been talking with other people who have popped it and this can be done with no carnivores except for the 3 ceratosauruses, everything else can be herbivores.

I will need to look to see which are the carnivores that do not panic when there is a storm and i assume those should also work just fine.

We should just look for the limit confort level. A tornado decrease the comfort from 100% to somewhere between 78- 71% ! So we must find carnivores that have a limit of 70% maximum ! The tier list is :

- Ceratosaurus
- Troodon (not recomended)
- Suchomimus (deluxe edition only)
- Spinosaurus
- Carnotaurus

All the rest must be avoided !

You're right about modding. Making more dinosaurs is more cost effective. The exception is Aggressive Instincts. That gives you more rating per dollar than you lose, so it's good to use it if you can get it researched.

Also this can be done with only 5 pens if you make 12 dilos instead of 3 raptors in the ceratosaurus pen. They easily fit. You can skip Huayangosaurus and Chungkingosaurus altogether and just put a Galimimus in the first pen for your dino variety. Also you can early on do 2x Baryonyx and 14x troodon if you have the Dr. Wu expansion.

Just a few tips for people looking to do it a little faster. I got it done in 3:05 by cutting down pens and just spamming those small carnivores.

Took two tries and a ton of reloads. I finally got it done in 3:59 using an autosave at 3:56. I spammed scenery at the last second to get 5 stars.

Just an FYI for anyone who is wondering, par time for Hard - Isla Matanceros with JP era is 4 hours. I completed it at 3:49, and this achievement popped. Using JP does require a ton of re-work, so only do it if you are comfortable with the differences.

i found all these achievements easier in park era. just flooded each pen with as much as social/pop allowed and moved onto the next pen. did nothing but malcolm contracts, and the benefit of park era is no sabotage.

Did this on Pena finished in 2:53. Guide in the walkthrough is perfect, had a couple of false starts but was only because of accepting rhe wrong contracts then saving. Just save scum the contracts, follow that guide and it is really easy.

First got to 5 stars in 4 hours 3 minutes. Reverted to my 2.5 hour save position and with frantic effort shaved 17 minutes from that time. Definitely create new saves every 30 minutes.
I built essentially the same layout on Matanceros in Park era three times, refining as I went, for Clocked at 32 mph, then for Fast for a Biped? and finally for Jurassic measures.

Done! Thanks for the excellent guide.
Did it in 3:36 (did it without raptors and Rex). During the hunt for sauropod fossils and later when u pushed the income with fossils u get enough alternate small herbivores like gallimimus, styraco, chasmo and so on to get the diversity to 16.

A Tip for a easier early begin.
When a contract is done, instantly after the department manager talks to u how good you've done ur job... Save ur game. U will get a instant new contract offer and if the job is bullshit u can reload and get a new/different job offer. So u can choose the best job and have a start bonus for ur wallet.

For anyone needing this achievement as well as the “Under 8.5 hours on Sanctuary Hard” achievement, these two achievements can be easily done together using the Jurassic Park era play style.

Using all the information I could get from this solution and the other ones posted for both of those achievements, I had already done the -4h cheevo but when I did the Sanctuary achievement, I took my time knowing that I had 8.5 hours but ended up with a 5Star Sanctuary island in only 4 hours and 18 minutes.

Under 4 hours on Sanctuary is very very doable in park era netting you BOTH achievements. All the info you might need to know is clearly explained in all of the solutions.

My advice would be to do your Sanctuary Hard run BEFORE this achievement, and trying your best to net the under 4 hours on that island in Park Era. If you perform tasks well and abuse the reload system you will most definitely make it. And in the event that the task is too big, then you can keep going to make it under 8.5 hours at least. Doesn’t hurt to try!

Thank you for the guide. I finished it in 3:39; it's not too bad. A few small things I can say:

I only built two small power plants. With your first power plant, make sure to place your Ranger Station next to it. As you use the improved power upgrades, the power plant will likely go down at some stage. Having the station right next to it means there is very little down time.

I only built 1 hotel, 1 gift shop, 1 clothes shop, 1 arcade and 2 fast food shops and two viewing things. The facility rating takes very little effort.

1 Hammond Foundation; you don't really need any more. Build it so that it has a couple of gates out to other paddocks and just airlift everywhere else. I did similar pens/paddocks to this guide, though, in the Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus pen I threw in a bunch of Troodon. Storms suck for Velociraptors but you can double fence them in and generally they won't get loose. If a fence does break, build another around it if you can before they get out. That saved a couple of breakouts for me. I always put in a lot of little dinosaurs with the big ones. I had one paddock with T-rex and Dilophosaurus another with Ceratosaurus and Velociraptors etc. I put Olorotitan's in with the initial paddock and Baryonyx in with Camasaurus at the very end to get over the finish line.

Once you have triple dig yield, cash flow is not a big problem. The start is the hardest part. After the first star it's only the storms/tornados you need to worry about. I had 2 or 3 tornados. It's best to save when you get the storm warning in case it goes awful and you can't recover. As long as you know which dinosaurs can cohabit and you keep pumping them out, you will get there.

If you can do the other challenge achievements, you can certainly do this one.

My god I hated this achievement.

It's doable, but I only see this being possible via gargantuan save scumming. On some runs I had to spend an hour to try to savescum my way out of a tornado storm that would not stop being unrecoverable.

And a single run has easily 10-14 storms. Every single one is at least a 50/50 chance of being a game over ( as in most carnivores get out or a tornado destroys everything with an unrelenting endless fury ). And when a storm decides to be bad, there's a strong chance even a loaded save from long before won't help with that.

On one run I had to savescum a SINGLE contract for half an hour until I got something that wasn't " let this kill this for a dollar and three cents " or "get 8 billion profit from your restaurants and such because that's how the game doesn't work " etc.

One run has what seems like 50-100 contracts and you need to savescum each and every one to be decent. Holy hell.

On top of that you could really use some proper luck with getting either valuable stuff from the digsites to sell or by getting most of what dino you are after instead of a mess of whatever you don't need. The hundrerds of saveload screams you have to do to play even a decent attempt at this is plain and simple terrible game design.

I maintain this would not be even remotely possible without constant savescumming. That's a sign of a really shit challenge.

I really don't recommend trying this unless you have the patience of a saint to keep staring at loading screens for hours and hours on end.

Details that finally worked for me, in case it helps anyone :

- The first enclosure as quickly as possible was Struthiomimuses, 1 Edmonto and 1 Hayango. Fill up with Struthios as far as the dinos like it there. SO notably no Triceratops at the first pen. Too expensive and too solitary.

- I didn't bother 100% ing dinosaurs unless I already had that species out there. 100% ing even with dig upgrades was so random and so slow it killed a few of my runs I feel. Just savescum one or minimum social per species first.

Apart from those two details I followed ideas from the guides and comments here that fit the run. loads of 100% sauropods in two different pens at the final hour, the big carnivores I could afford. One viewing gallery, one hotel.

But again, this one is NO fun. I hate this game pretty hard right about now :D

Map: Isla Matanceros - Hard
Unique Species: 16
Dinosaur Rating: 4800
My Time: 3:31

What my park looked like:
External image

This strategy is slow to start but will speed up. At two hours in I only had 2-2.5 stars but the rest comes quickly as everything is coming together. This strategy also requires just two genetic modifications to be researched.

Stress Inhibitor (SI - up to 2.0) - I cannot emphasise this enough for carnivores. It keeps them calm during bad weather which is worth more than the cost of having to deal with stressed dinosaurs breaking out of their enclosures. Once a dinosaur's comfort threshold percentage is <=60% it will be fine in a storm.
Immune Response (IR - up to 2.0) - This is to counteract the negative rating from Stress Inhibitor. It will also give your dinosaurs a longer lifespan and better resilience.

Park entrance is on the bottom left.

What to build first near the park entrance:
- Small Power Station (will be upgraded to a Medium one later on)
- Substation
- Expedition Centre
- Fossil Centre

Income
You keep expeditions going constantly as this will be your main income. Contracts are also useful but not ones that would take you out of your way. So for example, I would definitely take on any contract that would be natural like reach a certain income per minute or perform expeditions or release dinosaurs. I would stay away from contracts that would get me to sell dinosaurs or take photos of dinosaurs doing certain actions. It's too time consuming for this. I would always save once I completed a contract so if I didn't like the contract I was getting, I just reloaded my save to get another one. And this is an obvious one - make sure to keep your reputation with each faction as level as possible to avoid sabotages.

Save Strategy
Another note on saves: save regularly - even keep multiple saves - because it's always better to be able to go back. Especially with bad weather. One time I got a tornado so I reloaded my save and didn't get it the next time. If a disease is running rampant and you can't clear it quickly, reload your save. You might still get an outbreak but you might find you deal with it better this time round. If you're trying to create dinosaurs initially before you have 100% genome and it fails, reload your save. It's not worth losing the money.

Dinosaurs - General Overview
I know some strategies opt to go with transporting dinosaurs to enclosures but I opted for two Hammond Creation Labs with gates leading to multiple enclosures. Every enclosure had a Viewing Gallery or Viewing Platform depending on the shape of it so they're mostly wide with the exception of one which is long. That particular enclosure was added last.

I had 16 different types of dinosaurs only. The variety penalty will go to 0 once you have 16. The main thing is not to worry about getting the 16 unique types right away but over time.

- Ankylosaurus x2
- Archaeornithomimus x2 * (Gallimimus)
- Baryonyx (SI 1.0 & IR 2.0) x2 * (Metriacanthosaurus)
- Chungkingosaurus x3
- Crichtonsaurus x2 * (Dracorex/Nodosaurus - just have one of these, max is 7 population)
- Ceratosaurus (only carnivore without SI) x3
- Corythosaurus x6
- Dilophosaurus (SI 1.0 & IR 2.0) x21
- Diplodocus x10
- Edmontosaurus x4
- Huayangosaurus x3
- Sinoceratops x2 * (Torosaurus)
- Struthiomimus x4
- Styracosaurus x2 * (Kentrosaurus - requires 3)
- Triceratops x4
- Velociraptor (SI 2.0 & IR 2.0) x6

[- Tyrannosaurus Rex - I had one of these ready to be released with no mods just in case but it wasn't needed at all. This thing costs nearly 2 million. 3 Ceratosaurus' with no mods will cost less and have a higher combined rating.]

*DLC dinosaurs - brackets are suggested alternatives.

From the numbers you can see my star dinosaurs are the Diplodocus which is a giant herbivore and the Dilophosaurus which is a small carnivore. They are extremely easy to manage and they will not fight with each other.

For the herbivores I didn't have mods on them initially but as time goes on and you start having better income I would add the IR 2.0 mod on just for a better rating. By this stage you will have a Success Rate on your Hammond Lab so you don't have to worry about the incubation failing. For the carnivores the mods mentioned are a must.

Dinosaur Enclosures
In total I had 6 of these. In order I created the following:

(In brackets is max population size and max social size)

Enclosure 1 (nearest park entrance):
I added all of these straight away once the genome was viable enough.

- Corythosaurus x4 (pop: 24, max: 13)
- Edmontosaurus x4 (pop: 25, max: 15)
- Struthiomimus x4 (pop: 25, max: 20)
- Triceratops x4 (pop: 16, max: 6)

Enclosure 2 (above Enclosure 1):
I treated this one as one for unique dinosaurs so as they become available through expeditions/fossil extractions I added them.

- Ankylosaurus x2 (pop: 8, max: 4)
- Crichtonsaurus x2 (pop: 8, max: 5)
- Sinoceratops x2 (pop: 16, max: 7)
- Styracosaurus x2 (pop: 14, max: 5)

Enclosure 3 (to the right of 1&2):
Similar to Enclosure 2 but with a larger capacity. If you wanted to you could switch the Chungkingosaurus with the Struthiomimus in Enclosure 1 to fit more in but I found it wasn't necessary. Plus too many dinosaurs in the one enclosure can be a problem when trying to contain outbreaks.

- Archaeornithomimus x2 (pop: 21, max: 16)
- Chungkingosaurus x3 (pop: 18, max: 12)
- Corythosaurus x2 (pop: 24, max: 13)
- Diplodocus x6 (pop: 24, max: 8)
- Huayangosaurus x3 (pop: 20, max: 13)

Enclosure 4 (over by the second Lab on the left):
You will have these two dinosaurs before you have the majority of the ones in 2&3.

- Ceratosaurus x3 (pop: 20, max: 3) - create first, needs no mods
- Dilophosaurus x12 (pop: 22, max: 12) - only create these when SI 1.0 is available

Enclosure 5 (over by the second Lab on the right):
Same as 4 for having these dinosaurs before having the majority of the ones in 2&3.

- Baryonyx x2 (pop: 16, max: 2) - only create these when SI 1.0 is available
- Velociraptor x6 (pop: 20, max: 6) - only create these when SI 2.0 is available

Enclosure 6 (in-between 3&4):
This is used purely for rating. Keep adding these two in here. You will pass the 5 star rating at this point.

- Dilophosaurus x9 (pop: 22, max: 12)
- Diplodocus x4 (pop: 24, max: 8)

The only thing is you will have to transport the Diplodocus because it's too slow. By the time it walks the path I have from the Lab to the Enclosure it has a red food and water status bar. The Dilophosaurus is great and will run into the Enclosure.

Guests
You don't need much for the guest rating.

- Gift Shop x1
- Fast Food x1
- Hotel x1 - you don't need this until your capacity rating drops a bit. I just left space to put it in later.

I researched the following and just added them near Viewing Galleries:
- Arcade x2
- Clothes Shop x2
- Restaurant x2

Best thing to do is to just check your Island Facility Rating. If a rating is low just add another building.

Research Upgrades
You don't need to research everything but certain things should be prioritised over others. You also don't need a Research Centre until you pass 1 star. Multiplier indicates how many levels are applied to the actual building.

- Expedition Centre: Dig Yield x3 - should be first on the list.
- Expedition Centre: Team Bravo, Charlie

- Research Centre: Research Speed x3 until you get Research Cost then reduce to x1.
- Research Centre: Research Cost x2 - only research a max of one level of everything necessary until you get this.
- Research Centre: Team Bravo, Charlie

- Fossil Centre: Inventory Space x2
- Fossil Centre: Extraction Speed x1

- Power Upgrades: Improved Output 3.0
- Power Upgrades: Outage Protection 3.0
- Power Upgrades: Reduced Upkeep 3.0
-- Only apply these to the Medium Power Station. Manage your power on the Small Power Stations initially by switching off stuff you don't need.

- Hammond Lab: Incubation Speed 4.0
- Hammond Lab: Success Rate 3.0
- Hammond Lab: Hatchery Capacity
-- These vary over time. For example initially it's better to have the Success Rate upgrade in all the slots on the Lab but then as genomes get better and the success rate gets higher this can be switched in favour of getting dinosaurs created as quickly as possible.

Other
The only other buildings I had were the Ranger Station which I created early on and the ACU Centre which I didn't create until I was creating Enclosures 4&5.

Thankies and oh no :( Maybe it’s an XBL issue? I know I’ve seen non-stop service issues for the past few days. Did you try going into the game’s achievement page on your console? Sometimes looking specifically at the achievement can force it to pop.

It should be noted that the Stress Inhibitor gene is part of the Secrets of Dr. Wu DLC pack. Somehow I didn't realize this until halfway through my attempt laugh. Still seems like I might be able to finish it up though.

Ah damnit I didn’t realise (and I even give alternative non DLC dinosaurs to use lol). I thought the new genes were part of the title update. If you want to use carniovores I guess it means you’ll have to double fence and spend time researching better fences.

The Dilophosaurus has one of the lowest comfort levels (70%) out of all the small carnivores. An alternative for the Velociraptor (80%) would be the Deinonychus (75%) or Troodon (70%).

As for the large carnivores the Ceratosaurus (55%) is still fine to use. Alternatives for the Baryonyx might be the Carnotaurus (60%), the Majungasaurus (60%), the Metriacanthosaurus (50%) (although I bet this is a DLC dinosaur) or the Suchomimus (65%). I chose to use the Baryonyx simply because it doesn’t need a lot of space when compared to some of the other large carnivores. The Carnotaurus would actually be the next best.

Got it in 3:03 using this guide, thank you. Only difference I made was to just use 1 viewing platform and that was it. Also had to pump out an extra 3 Dilo's at the end as I was 200 short from my dinosaur 5 star rating with these dinosaurs.

My last 6 Dilo's I just released them without the Stress mods because I knew as soon as those last 6 would release they'd get me my 5 stars and I'd be done so they could be fired out at a cheaper price of 317K each instead.

+1 from me, don't know why it doesn't have more likes, it's a very detailed and thorough guide with information on the dino's, pens and even an image. The fact I smashed this an hour under par shows how good the solution is. Thanks again.

I hope you can forgive a bit of copy and paste but there’s no sense in typing this out a third time.

I used Jurassic Park as the era instead of Jurassic World and finished with time to spare.

The thing is, JP has significantly lower requirements on visibility and the number of unique species required since fewer are available. As long as you have the binoculars researched, the dinosaurs will count as “visible” if they’re anywhere near the tour vehicles.

In Park mode you also need substantially fewer facilities, I built a single Tour and put all the paddocks around it. I built 3 hotels to ensure the facility rating was 5 stars then proceeded to mass produce Brachiosaurus until reaching the required dinosaur rating toward the end.

I did end up building one of each guest facility, only because the arrival helipad, visitor center and aviary where far enough apart to warrant it.

Without modifications, the dinosaurs cost half as much as one modified to have maximum rating, so you can make more of them at a time. This is essential when you’re in the home stretch and just need to pad out your dinosaur rating score.

Also, you ALWAYS want to have two contracts from Dr. Malcolm as his are almost always timed contracts to keep the power on and prevent carnivores eating anyone. And save before accepting any contract from anyone else; you don’t want to end up with contracts you cannot complete quickly when you’re short on cash.

Having the constant income stream from Dr. Malcolm’s contracts will meaning having money to burn to incubate the more expensive dinosaurs and build the best possible tour.

And do yourself a favor, the SECOND you hear about an approaching storm, immediately send your Rangers to tranq your Raptors and T-Rex. If you put up electric fences the Dilophosaurus won’t be able to break free, and the Ceratosaurs and Spinosaurus don’t care about a storm enough to rampage easily, same goes for Baryonyx. The time spent trying to chase them down after a storm and fix fences is time and money wasted.

Stegosaurus WILL be your biggest source of drama as they start to panic as soon as there isn’t 5 of them in the herd, and they will tear down fences fast if not kept happy, so always keep 6 of them in a paddock at once. Otherwise you likely won’t be able to release a new one in time before the others lose all comfort and start attacking your fences.

And yes, you only need the one tour. Keep a fence between the tour vehicles and the dinosaurs. The vehicles can see through the wire fences so it will not affect dinosaur visibility.
