Putting Perfection

Putting Perfection

Putted the ball in from over 40 yards on Lighthouse Bay when playing golf

How to unlock the Putting Perfection achievement in Kinect Sports Season Two - Definitive Guide

Start out by choosing golf, single player, single hole against the rookie opponent. Choose the lighthouse bay hole. Hardest part is hitting the ball far enough away from the hole to get the achievement.
What I did was to hit my tee shot with a 4 iron into the fairway. Then on my second shot hit the ball as far to the left as i could to be away from the green, about 80 yards away. On the next shot i used the 6 iron. Practice before hitting to make sure that you can get the ball to the top tier of the green farthest away from the hole. That put me 46 yards away. All you need to do then is make sure the white line is as solid as possible and make the putt. Good Luck TA'ers

EDIT: Credit to Pinicus

Using the same strategy but playing on champion difficulty. The flag is placed on the back top tier so instead of trying to hit to the top, you can chip to the bottom and have a long straight up the hill putt.

EDIT 2.
Like the achievement name and description, has be putted. Cannot be a chip or hole out from the fairway. Putt. Hence putting perfection.

you have to be putting to get the achievement. you cant hit the ball in through the air.

The key word is 'putting', Dyno.

Anyway I will give this solution a try tonight.

Using the 6 iron on the approach shot is somewhat difficult. The ball has to be hit hard enough to roll to the top tier, but not too hard or it rolls into the rough. I found it easier to place my second shot close to the green (~30 yards). Pitching with an 8 or 9 iron allows you to aim for that top tier with very little ball roll.

There is some confusion about this achievement. When you go back to the menu screen the game displays a tip and one of those tips is something like "hittng the ball in from 50 yards in Lighthouse Bay is worth an achievement". But the achievement actually requires only a minimum of 40 yards, but it must be a putt, not just any shot.

I found it easier to get this on Champion difficulty rather than Rookie. The hole is then on the top tier so you can easily chip the ball onto the bottom and still be 40+ yards away Then putt the ball up hill when the line is solid with as much force as you can manage. For some reason, for me up hill putting was far more accurate than downhill.

Gotta agree with Pinicus. I could not seem to land on the top tier while on Rookie despite trying multiple times. Got it first try on Champion.

i did it pinicus' way and got it easily after three tries of getting it to the very bottom. i really thought the putt would be harder. i made the first putt from 48 yds. i definitely recommend you guys try it on champion, seeing as it doesnt matter how many shots you take to get to the green and the putt doesnt seem to be affected by the wind.

Damn, didn't read the comments. Just got the ball in from 69 yards...... pitching, not putting. Keep missing the green and hitting the rough right above the green.
Should amend the solution to read that it must be a putt. No down vote though.

Lighthouse Bay is the third hole and a Par 5. It’s obvious which one it is because of the long, enormous green, and of course, the lighthouse itself. A tricky part about this one is getting it 40+ yards away. Aiming to the far left of the tee, try to navigate your next shot(s) so that they’ll land on the back of the green. From here, you’ll have a long downhill putt. It might look daunting, but it’s relatively straight and downhill. Listen to your caddie to decide the power needed. Hit it hard and hopefully it'll hit the cup and bounce up a bit before falling back down and in.
