How to unlock the The Champion of Evolution achievement in Lies of P - Definitive Guide

At first, Champion Victor can seem like a difficult boss to defeat, but he has a weakness. This fight is divided into 2 phases, but the changes in the 2nd phase are largely cosmetic. As with most fights, specters help simplify and speed up the fight since they will keep Victor’s attention. Adding elemental damage to your blade with the grindstone will add bonus damage against the Champion.

Phase 1 & 2
When the fight begins, Victor will target you. Take your time and don’t be aggressive yet. As soon as his attention is on the specter, activate the Cube with a Protection Wishstone to reduce the specter’s damage received. Then, apply fire (or another element) to your blade with the Grindstone (cn_LB+cn_X). Now, run in, staying behind the boss, and deal as much damage as you can. Pay attention to your stamina, so you have enough to dodge if Victor turns toward you.
  • Punches/Uppercuts: The majority of Victor’s attacks are punches strung together in combos.
  • Leap Punch/Stomp: When the boss jumps toward you, dodge or run to avoid getting hit by the punch/stop that will follow.
  • Dash Punch/Uppercut: If Victor runs toward you, move to the right and let him pass by. Otherwise, you may get hit by the follow-up punch or uppercut.
  • Red Dash: When the boss glows red during a dash, expect an uppercut and a punch finish the combo.
  • Stomp: Victor often stomps his foot on the ground in front of him, so dodge/move back or to the right.
  • 2-Fist Slam: Dodge/Run back or to the right when the boss raises both arms above his head for a slam. Getting hit by the slam will knock you down.
Champion Victor’s Weakness
Champion Victor usually starts combos with his right arm. So, stay at a medium distance and run counter-clockwise around him. When he dashes or jumps in to close the gap, quickly turn around and land 1-2 hits. Take your time when it is just you and Victor, and you can mitigate the majority of his attacks.

Story-related and unmissable.

The best thing to do with Champion Victor, a large, clayey lump of a brute, is to use your dodge (button-b.png), rather than parries, to get behind him and deal damage to his back. He is weak to fire, so the Flamberge Legion Arm or a fire Grindstone are both very useful here. Get in for two or three swipes, then get out again. Try to keep your distance, as well, because one of the challenges of this fight is maintaining your stamina.

In the second phase, your tactics don’t need to change all that much, though you should watch out for his stomping attacks, which are easily parried, and also his massive rugy-tackle-style charges, which are easily sprinted around. Keep dealing brief attacks after getting behind Champion Victor, and then getting out the way again.

Fire helps, and it’s better to increase the ghost’s health in the second phase.

The boss is easily killed by dodging to the right. The distance is medium or long, we move counterclockwise, in this situation the boss makes the same attack. The weapon is preferably long; you can sharpen it for damage or fire if you wish.
