How to unlock the The Dynasty Continues achievement in Medieval Dynasty (Xbox One) - Definitive Guide
I tried to write this with the style that anybody with zero knowledge of the game could get this achievement easily. With that in mind;
TIME NEEDED
For those simply looking for a time guage... A complete in game day lasts for roughly 35 minutes. The earliest you can sleep is 24 minutes in.
A year, set to 1 day seasons, thus lasts no shorter than 96 minutes IRL, or just over an hour and a half... meaning your child, from 0 to the playable age of 18, requires 28.8 hours of IRL time. You can easily do all other achievements before this.
Math out of the way, heres info for those curious/lost.
ROMANCE
You need to romance a female villager. Recruitable villagers are found around campfires in villages. They require a house, and want a job. They dont even need to be ACTIVE. Near the end of my game my storehouses were full, my collection villagers couldnt work, but their mood stayed the same.
When romance reaches 100% you can propose to your chosen wife. Certain personalities like certain gifts (though most any gift raises affection) and dialogue, so the tier 1 skill "Romeo" under diplomacy makes this much easier. Its trial and error what to say but for example, a "free spirit" woman doesnt like hearing she has an amazing work ethic, a "busy bee" woman does.
When married your spouse moves in with you. Talking again lets you bring up children, prompting them to tell you to meet them at night.
Pregnancy lasts 3 seasons, with birth occuring on the 4th. After, she will care for the child, being unable to work for 2 years.
MOOD AFTER BIRTH
Your wifes mood and affection are important as if they go too low, she leaves the village WITH your child.
Keeping her fed (easy with no food requirements), interacting with her (talking) and/or giving her a gift every few seasons, and occasionally doing any quests she herself gives is enough to keep affection maxed. My wifes mood never dropped below 74%.
Gifts are sold at special vendors who appear at a random tavern (even one you build), their location changing by season. Gifts can also rarely be found in the wild at camps/overturned carts.
KID FACTS
Your child will have stats that, to the best of my knowledge, seem to be a mix of their parents. With my maxed stats and his mothers mix, my son had (from left to right via management page)
9 7 7 6 6 6 when he took over.
You switch to your heir either by asking him to take over at/over 18, or if you die and he is at least 18.
Kids also have affection, raised by toy swords/ragdoll gifts, or by quests as well.
Toy swords are found at blacksmiths, ragdolls at seamstresses.
A life event at age 7 had me cut my childs hair and take him on a hunt, which seemed to shape his personality.
My sons affection and mood thus stayed high like his mothers.
In short this achievement is by no means hard, it just requires a lot of waiting. I had literal hours of idle time. I will willingly answer any questions or add to this guide as needed.
Persevere however, and this is easy. Just very boring.
Happy hunting (>*_*)>
