How to unlock the The Greatest Battle Ever! achievement in Mega Man Legacy Collection - Definitive Guide
Robot Masters
There are eight Robot Masters in this game. Knowing their weaknesses is crucial even if you use a Password to skip their initial stages, because there is a Boss Rush later in the game. There you'll have all the weapons, so you can exploit all their weaknesses, but if you do want to go through the initial stages you'll have to beat one Robot Master with just the Mega Buster, so this is the order I suggest:
1. Plant Man: Weak against Blizzard Man's Blizzard Attack, but a charged Mega Buster works well too
2. Tomahawk Man: Weak against Plant Man's Plant Barrier
3. Yamato Man: Weak against Tomahawk Man's Silver Tomahawk
4. Knight Man: Weak against Yamato Man's Yamato Spear
5. Centaur Man: Weak against Knight Man's Knight Crush
6. Wind Man: Weak against Centaur Man's Centaur Flash
7. Flame Man: Weak against Wind Man's Wind Storm
8. Blizzard Man: Weak against Flame Man's Flame Blast
Wily Castle
1. Rounder II: Weak against Flame Blast
2. Power Piston: Weak against Silver Tomahawk
3. Metonger Z: Weak against Blizzard Attack
4. Mr X's X Crusher: Weak against Flame Blast
5. Mechazaurus: Weak against Yamato Spear, but you can also use the Rush Power suit to punch the platforms back at him.
6. Tank CSII: Weak against Wind Storm. The Yamato Spear works well too.
7. Boss Rush: See above for weaknesses
8. Wily 1, 2 and 3: Weak against Silver Tomahawk, but that goes for all the Wily forms, so you might want to save it and try Knight Crush or Rush Power early on instead.
Starting with Flame Man you'll get the Power adaptor along with his weapon. Continue through the order described in the solution and upon defeating Plant Man you'll get the Jet adaptor. Now you can gather the Beat parts from 4 of the remaining bosses - Tomahawk Man, Yamato Man, Knight Man and Centaur Man. These 4 levels have 2 boss rooms - 1 you can reach normally and 1 that requires either the Jet or Power adaptors. The boss is the same/requires same tactics, only difference is you'll get Beat parts along with their weapons.
Tomahawk Man
Towards the end of the level a platform will split the room, creating an upper and lower path, and continuing along the top path will take you to the standard boss room. But if you use the Jet adaptor to fly under the platform and follow the lower path along to a ladder you'll get to the second boss room. Defeat the boss and get the B part.
Yamato Man
Further in the level you'll come to the end of a room with 2 ladders - 1 going up and 1 going down. Use the Jet adaptor to reach the up ladder and proceed to the second boss room. This one will earn you the E part.
Knight Man
Proceed to the end of the level but before you go through the doors to the standard boss room look for the breakable block under the small platform you just climbed over. Use the Power adaptor (charge it up like the Mega Buster charge shot) to break the block. Follow this new path to get to the second boss room. You'll now get the A part from the boss.
Centaur Man
Proceed to the end of the level and you'll actually see the second boss door (across a large gap) before the standard door (down the ladder). Use the Jet adaptor to cross the gap. You'll get the T part from the boss.
Once you start the next level with all 4 parts you'll find you have the Best weapon in your inventory, which follows you around and attacks nearby enemies much like it did in Mega Man 5.
There's also an Energy Equaliser upgrade, which if you pick up weapon energy as normal/Jet/Power Mega Man it will restore the weapon with the lowest energy, saving you from having to select the weapon yourself. This is located in Tomahawk Man's level. At the same point where the split is where you take the bottom route for the Beat part, take the top route instead, then in the room above use the Power adaptor to break through the breakable block and receive the item from Proto Man. You may be able to get this without replaying the level by taking the top path first then backtracking and taking the bottom part, but I forgot to get it so can't confirm. The item is no great miss though if you don't get it.
For Mega Man 2 through 6, there is a password system that lets you begin the games with some major milestones completed. The passwords for some of these games can bring you as far as the Dr. Wily Castle, and others can only bring you up to the point where you've beaten every Robot Master. Whatever the case, they'll end up saving you a lot of time if you're more interested in getting a game's associated achievement than playing through the game to experience it from start to finish.
Here are the passwords that will take you the furthest into each game. These passwords were created using the password generator at http://www.mmhp.net/Passwords/
In the case of Mega Man 6, this password will take you as far as Mr. X's Fortress with every weapon, adapter, Beat plate, and the Energy Balancer unlocked. However, be warned that you will begin the game with no E-Tanks. Previous Robot Masters levels can be revisited if you wish to acquire some, however.cO
For willy's castle i only list the stage and the weapon required for the boss.
Don't forget to abuse of the save feature everytime you get to a boss room or during the stage when you get to hard parts.
1st boss that should be killed is Wind Man
In this mega man to unlock the bird called BEAT you need to access the boss from a different, there are 4 stage that as 2 boss room, the regular one and the hidden boss room gives you the BEAT parts.
boss/weakness weapon: (they are in the order you should fight them)
1.Wind Man - Centaur Man(C.Flash)
2.Flame Man - Wind Man(W.Storm)
3.Blizzard Man - Flame Man(F.Blast)
4.Plant Man - Blizzard Man(B.Attack)
5.Tomahawk Man - Plant Man(Plant.B) BEAT B.Part - when you get to the point there is 2 different paths, 1 leading up with 2 walking turret and 1 lower path with shields, take the upper path for 1 room, there is a block you can break with POW, on the other side of it Proto Man will give you a gadget that now you dont need to switch weapon to fill it up when you find weapon energy. once you obtained this useful item backtrack and take the path with the shield to reach secret boss room. Use JET to fly over the shields and the holes.
6.Yamato Man - Tomahawk Man(Silver.T) BEAT E.Part - When you get to the point you need to chose between 2 ladder, 1 leading up 1 leading down, use JET and take the upper one, it will lead you to the secret boss room.
7.Knight Man - Yamato Man(Y.Spear) BEAT A.Part - Just before entering the boss room there will be a block you can break using POW, do so and you will get to the secret boss room.
8.Centaur Man - Knight Man(Knight.C) BEAT T.Part - When you get to the point you see a huge gap between a boss room and a ladder going down, use JET to enter the boss room
Mr.X Castle:
1st stage: Plant.B If you can manage to break the glass that is cracked it is a shortcut that will bring you straight to the boss.
2nd stage: Silver.T
3rd stage: B.Attack
4th stage: F.Blast
Willy's Castle:
1st stage: Y.Spear (Shoot the eyes)
2nd stage: W.Storm
3rd stage: Boss Rush (i highly recommend that you beat Yamato Man with the mega buster cause if you use Silver.T to beat him you won't have enough weapon energy to beat Willy with it.use E-Tanks if necessary, you should probably have 9 at this point, Yamato Man is in the top left cell)
Final stage: Silver.T for the whole fight.
You will obtain this trophy immediately after defeating Dr. Wily in Mega Man 6. Remember that you can save the game at any point by hitting and selecting "Save Game". If you need to know the various boss weaknesses, I will list them here (Name of Boss - Weapon Weakness):
