How to unlock the Proficient achievement in METAL GEAR SURVIVE - Definitive Guide
i send my exploration team out on the weekly mission for kuban. i give them 6000 of defence supplies which is usually food or meds i have made from my base supplies.
i then let my crew do the first base defence dig mission and i suffer no damage or losses while doing this.
so the next night i log in i check on my exploration team and they have successfully earned me 1 mil kuban so i resupply them and send them back out.
then i do the 2nd half of my base defence dig and this gets me another million kuban and a few extra orange items. DONT FORGET to start the first half of your next dig straight after. i have forgotten a few times before myself.
a small tip for the explorers supplies try to stock as many of the same 3 or 4 animals as you can so each day you can empty all your cages out and have a lot of the same stuff and i grill this food and use it for defence supplies.
also check your base defences every few days and see if a few turrets have run out of ammo and disappeared (depending on your base setup obviously).
what a crap achievement
The sad truth to completing this achievement quicker is to buy the "premium boost pass." All kuban earned in single players will be doubled; except for base digs and exploration teams. The pass also doubles BPs and all production items; i.e. water, food, animal bi-products needed for crafting rare items etc.
This will probably be your last achievement in the game. The MMS grind part, mentioned in detail below, should be done after getting all the other co-op achievements done first. This way you will have some decent weapons and you will have earned some Kuban along the way.
If you dont want purchase the boost pass the best option for this is to set up an hour or two a day for this game. Create a looking group every day at the same time to complete the daily and weekly missions. Then do your base dig and exploration. Then spend a little time doing the MMS described below.
Minable Moving Singularities 10,000,000 Per Hour
These will show up as a blue circle/side mission on both maps. They will only spawn in a few designated locations on both maps. After completing the game, these side missions come up more frequently. From my experience the best and quickest MMS in on the main/Dite map near transporter 7. All of the MMSs reward about the same amount of kuban.
Although there are MMSs on the jungle FOB maps, I will only list the Dite locations:
Transporter 7 N This respawns every 3 in-game days
Transporter 10 SE This respawns every 3 in-game days w/50% chance of being a container mission instead
Transporter 9 E rare spawn, more likely at night, slightly higher reward; max I have seen is 612,000
Transporter 3 rare spawn, more likely at night, easy to defend, decent reward
This is the precise method I used to be as efficient as possible. I can not stress how important it is to not look at the map when waking up in order to save time:
-Slept until MMS mission was available near transporter 7
-transported to #7, completed mission, transported back to base
-slept for 3 days; 3x23 hours
-did not check map
-transported to #7, completed mission, went to transporter and checked if #10, #8 or #3 had an MMS available.
-IF no other mission was available, I went back to base to sleep and repeated
-IF other mission was available, I transported to the mission, completed it but then........VIA PAUSE, "RETURN TO BASE CAMP" This will leave a box, that I would pick up again the next time I went there. DON'T WASTE TIME RUNNING BACK TO TRANSPORTER
Tips:
-since you probably have tons of animals at this part, I suggest crafting 10 soups and grabbing a few milks then using them as your food when grinding this
-use items/weapons that you can craft a lot of
-craft in bulk and then reload all via "change equipment"
-try to find ways of using less gear/weapons/ammo
-use a grenade on the large groups at 2:00 and 0:40; always the same #spawns for all MMSs
-try to clear all enemies for max score
The reason you will want to wait to do this is the reward is based on your experience level. The higher your level, the higher the reward. Again, I would say your overall level, should be at least 65 before spending time grinding like this.
I have not figured out exactly why the reward fluctuates as much as it does. Sometimes it is randomly tied to the level the enemies. When I was doing my last few runs, I did notice that the reward was constantly higher when I took no damage and cleared all waves.
The below clips are me with really strong weapons. I was able to do this with flame arrows and shotgun too. It could be done many ways with average weapons and gear. I really think explosives on the big spawns is critical though.
Replay Chapter 26 4,400,000 Per Hour
After completing the campaign, a few options open up. First you will notice in the "Skill Trainer" module sub classes opened. Yep, these all need to be upgraded for the achievement. I highly recommend investing in the scout sub class first.
You will notice that a chapter select option is available in the "skill trainer." Playing the final chapter 26 will earn you about 2.2 million kuban. It will take about 30 minutes even with skipping cut-scenes. However, this will be the best way to grind kuban until your character is at survivor 40 + scout 29.
While this is a reliable method, you will probably get annoyed with the dialogue, unnecessary running and the long wait times.
Co-op
I wish I had some great advice on playing co-op missions. I played a lot of them solo. If you can find people to play with by all means do so. By completing co-op missions you will earn weapons, gear and recipes for crafting very useful items. The really good stuff is earned from S ranking hard and even extreme difficulties. Most of the stuff you need is good enough from the hard difficulties.
Wormhole Digger 1,000,000 Per Day(real time)
After completing the campaign, the digger allows you to earn some kuban every day. There was an update some time back that makes it impossible to do more than one dig a day unless you spend real money to do so.
Always choose the option "leave to crew". Before starting the dig, check to see the direction of the incoming waves of enemies. You simply want to have a defense number 5x higher than the incoming wave for that colored section. For example, if the blue section has 1,000 point of enemies incoming build enough defense item to total 5,000.
Each time you complete a dig successfully, a new more challenging dig becomes available. For dig 3 and 4, it will take two days and needs to be restarted once. For dig 5 and 6, it will take 3 days and needed to be restarted twice. Dig 5 is probably the best one bcause it earns a lot of materials and is not that intense attack wise. I would suggest only doing dig 6 one time and then just sticking with dig 5. All digs earn 1,000,000 kuban a day (real time).
Remember to repair all before starting any dig.
Resource Collection: Exploration Team 1,000,000 Kuban Per Day(real time)
In order to be able to do the kuban mission, your exploration team must be rated at C or better.
By rescuing people from "distress signal" side missions, you gain crew members. You can have a max of 30 crew members. If you try to get more, one will leave at random. You can assign crew members jobs i.e. defense, development, exploration etc. You can decide what they are best at by looking at their previous job title. However, these titles are not always good indicators that they will be successful at a job or not.
Development- Dan, Mechanic, Tailor, Electrical Engineer, Welder, Inventor, Garment Maker
Food Supply- Nicholas, Cook, Botanist, Nutritionist, Butcher, Culinary Researcher, Food Engineer
Medical- Miranda, Sports Trainer, Pharmacist, Paramedic, Physician, Veterinarian, Counselor
Base Development- Architect, Farmer, Dairy Farmer, Landscaper, Carpenter, Plumber, Construction Worker
Base Defense- Reeve, Body Guard, Weapon Analyst, PMC Contractor, Soldier, Special Forces Operator, Security Guard, Martial Artist
Exploration- Geologist, Radio Operator, Diver, Hunter, Surveyor, Explorer, Signaler, Mountaineer
After they have settled or in other words, following a few real hours, their profile will tell you if they are good at their job or not. Most of the time the above should work. Check their profile to see how they are doing. From worst to best:
poorly> not do very well> modest> positive> adequate> best
In order to get the needed C rank, your entire team needs to consist of at least modest and positive people. If anyone is performing poorly/not do very well, try assigning them to another role. Sometimes a pharmacist does better in exploration than medical for example. If you have tried every spot for a crew member and they are poor/not very well at all roles, you can get rid of them.
Go out to a transporter far away like #8 or #10. Pick up an item or two. Via the pause screen, return to base camp. This will leave behind a box and creates a mission for the exploration team. Now, send 1 or 4 people that you want to get rid of on the mission to get the box back. It should take 20 minutes. Dont give them any supplies. After 20 minutes, they will return with a failure notice. Send them out again. You will have to do this at least three times. Make sure not to heal them and they will eventually die.
Upon their death, total team morale will drop for a while. I suggest going to the jungle FOB map. Check with all crew with blue icons to find a distress signal mission. If one is not available, sleep one game day and check again. Rebuild your crew with people that can perform modest or positive. Try to have about 5 people per team.
When your exploration team is at a C rank, a mission will be available that rewards only kuban. Assign four of the best to the team. Give your team 6,000 survival points worth of items. This can consist of vegetables, meat etc. They should naturally be at the 300 needed combat points but supply with weapons/gear if needed. Heal before sending out.
Field Manuals- When you start earning these, assign these rare items to the proper people and them only. With these, your results will improve crew members to adequate and even best results. The more of these field manuals are equipped the better the teams will do. Eventually, all teams should be at A or B rank.
Place down a Heavy Machine Gun Type D on the tallest part of the mound of rocks, that has the Wanderer paths on either side, just West of the Digger.
Tap the trigger when firing the Heavy Machine Gun Type D to avoid wasting ammo, and killing all or 99% of Wanderers this way, making sure that the gun has some ammo when the MMS is over.
After collecting the Box that drops as reward and returning to Base Camp, I switch over to CO-OP via Virgil, and from there return to Single Player.
I sleep for three in game days. using a Soup to replenish Hunger and Thirst, to allow MMS #7 to reappear and upon arriving at the location, I have found the Heavy Machine Gun Type D to have ammo fully replenished.
In place of the Heavy Machine Gun Type D you can put together a good selection and positioning of Auto-turrets to cover the spawns/lanes to automate the process so that all you need do each time is activate the digger.
I used a regular auto-turret to cover where the Mortar comes down at the Western spawn. A grenade turret on a rock near the Southern spawn, another on the rock near the Eastern/middle spawn. A regular turret and a gatling turret covered the Northern spawn.
This way I was able to activate the digger and do nothing for the duration.
The following are rough numbers:
With the Boost Pass you should be able to get ~5 million Kuban per hour.
~5.6 million is about how much the final level of each sub-class should cost, so each hour should be worth at least a level for most of the grind.
One thing to note is not to leave the game idle for too long unpaused. You'll want to go quick between steps and pause when you need to. Otherwise if you try and do some actions (checking on your exploration team) the turrets can get removed automatically.
This way you will be able to greatly reduce your resource usage when farming that spot for a considerable time by relying primarily on the same placed weapons.
Shutting down the game will likely remove the turrets, however, one time I was able to switch over to CO-OP before Quitting to Main Menu (hold View button to pause) and shutting down the game and then console. Starting it back up I went to CO-OP first then returned to Single Player, slept three in game days and returned to MMS #7 to find a gun remained.
I can't say how consistent or reliable exiting the game this way may be as I paused the game when not playing and returned to the grind much later.
This trophy requires you to raise all your skill trees to the maximum level. As you play through the story, the first skill tree (Survivor) will be available and you'll unlock most of it before completing the story. After you’ve finished the first skill tree, the other 4 will unlock:
- Jaeger: Emphasis on long range combat
- Medic: Emphasis on complementary buffs and survival
- Scout: Emphasis on solo scouting and overall survival
- Assault: Emphasis on close quarters combat
Each skill tree has 29 levels to unlock and every level costs progressively more Kuban to unlock. The first level costs around 200,000 Kuban and the last level costs around 5,500,000 Kuban. Between them is a linear progression in Kuban cost. Needless to say you need a lot of Kuban to unlock all of the skills so you'll be grinding a lot of everything (mostly online play) to farm all this Kuban.
To be clear, Kuban could best be interpreted as XP, but it's also an in-game currency.
You'll find numerous topics all over the internet on how to farm Kuban but be aware that all of the exploits have been patched (AFAIK).
I will say this though, once you’re maxed out (level 69) and decently geared (epic weapons, upgraded quivers, stacked on bullets etc.) you’ll be able to play Extreme Salvage Missions. If you complete the three rounds of this Salvage Mission with an S rank a "bonus round" will start, which is even harder than the last three rounds. If you manage to survive all this, you'll get an S+ rank, which awards you with a total of around 1,500,000 Kuban (also depending on your personal ranking). An S rank on extreme gets you around 1,000,000 – 1,200,000. Naturally, playing Hard, Normal and Easy Salvage Missions award you with less Kuban. You should aim to prepare for Extreme Salvage Missions and getting ready for a long grind. You'll need an estimated 90,000,000 Kuban per skill tree, multiplied by 4 for the total estimation of around 360,000,000 Kuban.
Luckily people playing online these days are relatively well-prepared and generally know what to do so it's not all bad and even Extreme Salvage Missions with random people gets "easy" but it will still be a really long grind to get this trophy.
Every day, by launching the 2nd mining option in your database, trusting the staff, you get 1 million points, with a boost of about 1.4 ml (1.5 - 2 minutes). Then replay chapter 24 once - 1 million (2 million with boost) (30 minutes) and a couple of loots online - about 2.5 million (30 minutes depending on the online). As a result, about 4 - 4.5 million points per day for 1 - 1.5 hours of play.
