How to unlock the The Hunt is my Mistress achievement in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - Definitive Guide

OK, so first off! I want to thank Roose91, BiLLzuMaNaTi and all the people who commented on both their solutions for all the help to the community and the ideas I got from it...

INTRO:
I'd like to say that my solution is maybe a mix of all others, taking bits and pieces plus ideas of my own.

The reason why I worked to get another method and felt the need to write another solution is because:
1) this method doesn't require to gather barely any intel
2) this method doesn't require to roam & run around getting beast kills
3) this method seemed much more reliable to me than the other solutions.

that being said, more and more people unlocked this with the other solutions, so maybe I just suck a lot at this game. which is why I needed an easier way to get this achievement.

With all other solutions I always ran out of time... with my system I ended up (as of writing this, today):
5th on Elite leaderboard with 37:12min and 15636 points (could have easily got 1000ish more points more in those 2-3min.

I worked real hard on this. I probably tried this 20 times. sometimes giving up at 10min in, sometimes not making it in time and wasting 40min.
The reason is I wanted to find the absolute best and clear way to do this in order to write a solution. I recently started to stream on twitch and I was excited about making a good video guide for this.
Some of my ideas didn't work. Some did. And I adapted some stuff from other people.
I hated the fact we had to lose 6-8-10min. gathering intel on Captains, so I tried something different.

SOLUTION:
--- Youtube links added and twitch link removed as twitch videos will disapear in a few days ---

I strongly suggest to watch the videos, as it shows important stuff like Graug bait locations, needed for my solution. However I will now try to write a clear instruction.

SHORT EXPLANATION:
*** Has to be done in the "Lord of the Hunt" DLC in the Trial mode. The Trial name is "Test of the Wild"
*** The objective is to only get intel on a Warchief and from there on ONLY do riots with that Warchief
*** no wasting time gathering intel on Captains or running around killing them with beasts. it's all done through riots
*** if you don't want to watch my video and/or you haven't played as many hours as me, it might be a good idea to make a "test run" to find all the Graug baits near the riot locations. but it would be just easier to check my video

DETAILED EXPLANATION:
You get intel on a warchief either by finding a green intel or quickly going to the closest power struggle Captain and branding him.
Warchiefs:
- Ugakuga is the one you really want. Easy to beat. Doesn't die too easy in riots. NOTE: he will probably not go "green" while beating him. Just hit him with the sword (carefully not to kill him) and eventually he will kneel and surrender. You then get the option to kill or brand him.
- Shagflak IGNORE you would waste too much time trying to beat him
- Zugor Beast Butcher (The explosive arrow one) is easy to beat (vulnerable to ranged) but he is too powerful in riots and may destroy or scare your enemies before you can eat them. NOTE: when you riot against him, kill him right away even if you miss all his bodyguards that way. He is way too dangerous to keep him alive until your Graug arrives.
- the rest are more or less fair game.
- The best is to reset and start again if the first Warlord you unveil is not Ugakuga, in order to save time and have a clear run

Once you branded a warchief, start rioting against other warchiefs
When you start rioting, you need to learn the locations of Graug baits near each riot location (watch my video or do a "test run"), summon and brand/mount the Graug and eat the Captains first and the Warchief last.
Sometimes it's better to just kill the enemy Warchief and let the bodyguards flee, as another Captain will be promoted to Warchief and get new bodyguards, which is what you want: warchiefs with lots of bodyguards all the time to eat and eat them quickly. Also, killing a Warchief nets more points, so it's good when a Captain gets promoted.
Once you're done with your Graug, make sure to kill it for extra points
Once the riot is over, grab your branded Warchief before he leaves and send him on the next riot (this saves you time as you don't need to make a Beck&Call)
After the Warchief left the screen, press cn_down to dispatch all remaining Uruks for some extra points.
Focus on the 10 beast kills first with your Graug, then use the Graug for speed kills and points for killing the Graug.
and basically rinse and repeat... NOTE: even if the next riot is closeby, you should use quick travel, in order to make Graug baits respawn.
Oh, also: at the beginning, when there are still plenty of Captains (but you already killed 1-2 Warchiefs), it's a good idea to use the "advance time" options a few times, to allow the game to promote a Captain to Warchief and also to promote some guys to bodyguards. Later on it's not a good idea, unless you already have your 10 beast kills... because you might run out of normal Captains to eat.
NOTE: It sounded obvious to me, but to make sure everyone understands: if there are no more Warchiefs and you don't want to advance time because you still need to eat regular Captains, you do NOT run around searching them, you just riot them too.
04/jan/2015 NOTE: another thing that might come obvious when watching the videos, but I'd like to explain it here too: WARCHIEF KILL COUNT RESET EXPLANATION: the game counts how many Warchiefs are alive at any given time. If you killed some Warchief but you advanced time and/or a bodyguard took his place, that kill won't count anymore. It's not a big deal, I actually explain in the video that you get more points for killing Warchiefs anyways and in the end you have to spend the same time killing 25 Uruks total, so you WILL get those 5 Warchief kills one way or another. But it is suggested to only use advance time at the beginning (after killing a few Warchiefs) and to always kill bodyguards before killing the Warchief himself.
16/jan/2015 NOTE: a little trick I thought might come handy. Credit to Fuzzmeister J in the comments. quote: "Twice in this run I grabbed Ugakuga with the Graug by mistake. I was able to pause the game and quit. Click continue and he was still alive. As long as you quit before his head is munched on, you are good. It will even save the captains you killed during that riot, but you can start it back up and and kill the war chief like normal."

Before voting negatively, please let me know why. I worked a lot for this achievement just in order to come up with a nice guide and video. If you think there is room for improvement please let me know instead of just giving me a -1 and leaving me in the dark. Much appretiated.

your guide seems so much easier to understand. what are you doing when you put your hand in the air and your sword goes on fire.. and they you put your hand in the air with blue again? is this like a combat brand?

wow im definatly gonna give this a go, i did about 5 atempts the other way and had enough of trying for this. but definatly gonna have a go this way. the run was far from perfect so there is plenty of room for error here.

@RockCiayton: yeah the recorded run wasn't very good. My first (not recorded) attempt was sooo much better, I killed all Warchiefs and all Captains and still had 14min. (!!!) left, but I was missing points (which I could have got easily with the spare time) and I mistakenly advanced time too many times and so I didn't have any Captains to eat anymore.
@BiLLzuMaNaTi: I appretiate your comment. It means a lot to me that another solution writer liked my solution.

Phoenix man thanks for these videos. None of the other solutions were working for me and after trying your method I became 2nd on the leaderboards. I even had 6 minutes left to rack up more points and become 1st. Finished with 16,826. Thanks again for these videos, much appreciated!

Yes, I do. A developer should NEVER add random&luck based achievements. Fuck them and their game. Tried this 30+ times now. Some were close calls... 2 captains left, etc.. I hope they burn in hell. I nearly broke my controller...

Well, maybe developers wanted us to so this achievement with my system. There is nothing random with my solution and it's quite easy and you should have plenty of time left to make extra points if needed. Have you tried it yet?

Also: once I get home tomorrow I'll add this to the solution: "the best is to reset and start again if the first Warlord you unveil is not Ugakuga, in order to safe time and have a clear run"

Your solution is great, but the best try was 18/20. Everything else done...
Points are not an issue.. Its the time. I know all the graug spawns etc.
And on top of that, while doing great, my graug refused to grab anything. I smashed Y into groups and even single uruks and nothing. The other attack worked, tho.

"the best is to reset and start again if the first Warlord you unveil is not Ugakuga, in order to safe time and have a clear run"

I do that all the time.. and even reset the game, when there is no intel at the starting point. But even then... you'll need a good mission. Something like blow up grog or kill 5 archers. You can reload if there is something like kill 20 uruk w/o damage and such shit.

By Tenreth on 25 Dec 2014 22:07
Ofc that's everyone's choice. I have usually so much time left that I don't mind killing 20 Uruks, which is good for points anyways. But there are certain missions which are really a pain.

FUCK THIS GAME! Seriously, someone help me. What the fuck is wrong with my game. First of all, I have started TWENTY riots. I'm not kidding, TWENTY and 17 of those where in the ONLY PLACE THERE IS NO GRAUG BAIT. WHY???

Second. Whenever I try to kill Shagflak, my captain and all of his minions just stand right by him, only ONE of his minions keeps shooting at him, doing almost no damage at all. WHY???

What the hell is wrong with this game. I'm beyond pissed.

By SiegfriedX on 26 Dec 2014 01:41
@tenreth: congrats brother. @Siegfried: I left a tip above for Shagflak. I killed him myself because Ugakuga and his minions were pretty much useless. Stun Shagflak with (B) and start a flurry combo until you get a special move. Stop midway of your flurry when you get the special and hit X,A and Talion will slam the ground doing damage to Shagflak. Repeat until he's dead.

For the Riot spawns they are all completely random. I've had a game where the riot was at the location without Graug bait many times, and other games where I've only had that location twice.

By MeatflapBurglar on 26 Dec 2014 02:22
Yeah, I read your tip and did that with Shagflak already, but the riot spaws... I'm beyond pissed, the game tries to screw me in every single way possible, everytime I can FINALLY start a good run... Every single riot is there.

Just did it with 33 minutes! I finally got a good run where everything was perfect! Only had two riots on the crappy place and that was after I had my 10 beast kills. I'm so glad to be done with it, this achievements brings out the worst in this game, you see all the flaws it has.

By SiegfriedX on 26 Dec 2014 03:57
Glad you got it... however I specifically made this solution so getting intel would not be necesary. I don't really see the point of wasting any time to gather intel on captains, when you can just riot them and eat them with a Graug, regardless of their immunities/vulnerabilities or location. It sounds like you only checked my written solution without watching my videos maybe?

By Phoenix C64 on 31 Dec 2014 08:12
To make sure to avoid confusions, I added this to the solution: "NOTE: It sounded obvious to me, but to make sure everyone understands: if there are no more Warchiefs and you don't want to advance time because you still need to eat regular Captains, you do NOT run around searching them, you just riot them too."

No i actually did both, but i had a few times where there was no graug bait, so i kept failing with a few minutes. What i added was what finally worked for me, also ate my warchief on accident because im an idiot. Your solution helped more than the other, because running around getting intel waisted time, but not if you have 10 uruks right next to you that wont fight back. No need to add it to the solution or anything, i was very lucky, just wanted to leave the comment in case people were still having trouble.

thx for your comment. even tho it took me a lot of testing to come up with this method and repeating the video several times to make a good enough run (which means i repeated the same explanations several times xD) i am glad you found it entertaining. truth is i havent used twitch since i finished this video but i am looking forward to record something again even if it's not an achievement guide. just havent found the moment yet :)

Update: got it on my first attempt this morning. I even goofed up a couple times (a warchief fled, and twice I lost track of Ugakuga and had to beck and call). Finished with 16073 points in 36:19, 38 on the leaderboards. All thanks to you! Thanks again!

I dunno if this helps people, but the little things REALLY come into play for your time. Once I started taking advantage of rocks I could jump over for a speed boost, or Uruks I could shadow strike for a quick gain of distance, my time started to drop dramatically. Likewise, once you have your ten monster kills, try to kill all remaining captains with arrows since time is slowed down.

5th try and did this word for word. Got it in 37:38 with 15623.

One thing to add. Twice in this run I grabbed Ugakuga with the Graug by mistake. I was able to pause the game and quit. Click continue and he was still alive. As long as you quit before his head is munched on, you are good. It will even save the captains you killed during that riot, but you can start it back up and and kill the war chief like normal.

Great solution as I feel like I'm close to getting the achievement. The only thing missing for me is maybe a map of the graug bait locations. I find sometimes I will start a riot in a spot that you didn't in the video so I have no idea where to get graug bait.

By SaDi5TiK on 23 Feb 2015 03:32
As far as I am aware all the riot locations are covered in the 4 videos, and only 1 of those locations doesn't have a graug bait. OFC I might be wrong, however what I can suggest is: if you get such a riot location, just resolve it without graug as quick as possible, to not waste much time and get a better location in next riot.

By Phoenix C64 on 23 Feb 2015 07:13
Okay sounds good. My anxiety starts during the riots when I'm not 100% sure where graug bait is so I'll try to skip looking for it sometimes. One thing I didn't pick up from watching your videos the first time was that I need to advance time every once in awhile to get more captains assigned to warchiefs smile I think that will make a run a little better.

By SaDi5TiK on 23 Feb 2015 21:51
just do a test run mate, relaxed and so, just look for where riots can spawn and where the graug baits are. careful not to abuse advance time, i only use it 2-3 times max.

Phoenix C64, thank you so much for this guide. It took me about 5 solid tries until I knew I had the perfect run underway. This works very well if you follow it closely. I finished by the skin of my teeth in 39:03 and 14k points. Killed the last uruks and Ugakuga with one minute left. I even died once early on trying to fight Ugakuga and his bodyguards! Whooo!

I was one of many who became completely frustrated trying to get this achievement. Originally I tried collecting all the intel on all captains and I noticed at the end I was racing against the clock and would often have 3-5 captains left with less than 3 min and with only 7-8k score. I tried this for awhile and it seemed like every run would end up the same.

With this strategy I was able to rack up points quickly and I would not waste crucial minutes (about 7 min) collecting intel. Yeah some of the first runs were sketchy but I was able to fine tune it and my runs quickly got better. On one run, like an idiot, I started a new trial instead of continuing it when it was going really well. Just yesterday I unlocked it despite me accidentally eating Ugakuga and still had 2 captains left and I ended up finishing it in 39:00. Big thanks to Phoenix for his guide. I was able to know where a lot of the graug bait was which is CRUCIAL!!!

Thank you sooooooooooo much, you save my day!!

First i tried the gaining-information-then-ride-and-eat method, I've always ended up running out of time. Then I tried yours, it actually worked! In 30 minutes I killed all the warchiefs and captains except Ugakuga, I only need 2 more captain for the graug to eat, I let myself to be killed by 2 random uruks, promote them to captains. Then grab Ugakuga, start Riots and spawn graug to eat them. All these I've done in 36:20 and 15000+ score.

This guide is really worth everybody trying out. A lot of room for mistakes and this ensures enough scores and time to do get this achievement.

Really nice Phoenix C64, thank you again!

Actually I tried 2 times, first i mixed Roose91's guide and yours. I spawned a graug immediately after Trial started, rushed into strongholds and search blindly for captains. 9 minutes I was able to eat 5 captains. Then I started finding information on Ugakuga, unfortunately Ugakuga was the last warchief that revealed to me. Wasting a lot of time. In the end I had 12 captains killed by monsters but time ran out.

2nd time I tried, yet luck was not on my side. Ugakuga was still the last warchief revealed to me. But I managed dominating Ugakuga in 8 minutes and then start Riots on other warchiefs. I noticed there are always 2 captains that fear betrayer, when Riots started they just ran away. I have no time to spawn graug, they forced me to kill them single-handedly. Alas 3 Riots spawned at the worst location with no graug bait around. So I managed to finish these Riots in old-fashioned way. So in 30 minutes I killed all warchiefs and captains except Ugakuga with 2 more captains needed to be killed by monsters.

I guess luck is vital in this Trial, but speed in killing is also the key.

Read all the solutions here; all are excellent. However, this one seems to be the most refined and most forgiving. Some luck is still required, but here is what I did to get an ideal start:

Hop off the tower, enable wraith vision and immediately open the map. Look for Intel locations nearby or use wraith vision to spot a captain. If none, restart.

When Intel or captain is nearby use shadow strike to teleport to their location and quickly dispatch / dominate. Sometimes there are a couple Intel options available. My best opening I had 3 war chiefs unmasked by ~1:19. Typically, if I don't have Ugakuga located within the first 60 seconds I'd quit and try again. Also, if Ugakuga has a terrible mission I'd usually restart.

Ignore all his captains and just focus on downing Ugakuga. If all goes well I should have Uga branded and on his way to the first riot about 5 minutes in. Advance time when traveling to the nearest tower. Follow the guide and continue advancing time after every riot to increase chances of war Chiefs with several bodyguards.

Knowing exact location of graug baits is *key.*. Watch the videos. When I got the unlucky riot location with no nearby bait I just killed the war chief, let the captains escape and advanced time.

I ended up finishing in 37:37 with well over 16k points.

After many, many days trying i finally got it. HUGE THANKS cause this was by FAR the Best method for me. One thing thay i did one my final attempt was eat all captains for the warchief, and them pick uga by mistake, and that made me quit and continue, and when I came back that same warchief had a one new bodyguard, so i advanced time, and gues what other bodyguard came up, so i advanced again until he has 3 bodyguards. Like that i was able to eat 6 captains from the same warchief. Awesome!!!! Finished with 35:44min 14490 points.

This was a perfect solution. It took me three tries, but on my second I didn't send Uga out on the first riot until 10:33 and only missed it by 52 seconds. :( On my third try only one Warchief had bodyguards at a riot near bait so I had to hunt down 7 captains to eat and 17 total by rioting them one at a time and Uga died on my FIRST riot forcing me to brand Zugor for all the riots. In the end I did it in 37:42 with about 14,500 pts. Couldn't have done it without this solution. Thanks again!

Thank you so much Phoenix. Just got this cheevo on second try, thankfully I checked for strategies first or I would have been just as frustrated as many of the others on here. FYI I ran out of war chiefs towards the end so I rioted against captains and had enough time to eat them with the Graug. Thanks again

Just wanted to say that your guide was spot on. It took me a few tries to get a good run, but I had everything done in 35 minutes thanks to your strategy. I was short on points but was able to shadow strike kill in a compound and rack up the extra 1,500 points I needed to put me over the top and then kill my warchief. Great guide!

I cut it a little close but I got it! 39:59 completion time but I died 2 or 3 times and let time pass a couple times to get new war chiefs up. The branded chief I used was ugakuga's replacement actually, and he died before I finished. A little nerve-wracking, but the solution helped a lot.

Your solution does not work all of the time. You forgot the most important thing: where the hell is the graug bait in all locations of the riots. You just pointed it out in the stupid random locations you luckily got. You spent so much time on the retarded points and did not spend time on the most needed.

@calcaneus2000
at the beginning of my soution, under the bolded title "SOLUTION":

"I strongly suggest to watch the videos, as it shows important stuff like Graug bait locations, needed for my solution."

and a bit later:

"*** if you don't want to watch my video and/or you haven't played as many hours as me, it might be a good idea to make a "test run" to find all the Graug baits near the riot locations. but it would be just easier to check my video"

this solution DOES work all the time. but you need to know to READ. and if you don't want to make a test run to find all graug baits (there IS a graug bait at ALL riot location except one) then go watch the videos. (you know you can fast forward and pause on youtube, don't you?)

Trust me. I read everything you posted. I am not knocking the good ideas you have. I am simply saying that with the 4 runs I have done since trying your way, the riots did not spawn in the same areas as yours. I have easily found the graug bait in a few riot locations, but I spawned 4 times in a row in the no graug bait location. An additional video would be great for about 4 minutes showing each spawn location for the riots and where the graug bait is in each location. You already showed a few, just add the rest please. The other problem that you did not mention was that most of the warchiefs that I fight have 1 or no bodyguards. It seems that this is random. So there is still a tremendous amount of luck involved despite the strategy. This does not work every time. I will be patient and please don't feel I don't appreciate your obvious effort for us your fellow gamers.

Great solution Phoenix! I got this on my 2nd attempt and had 6min to spare! One thing that can help you save time is to use the graug puke on the captains/warchiefs instead of eating them. You need to be careful because it drains his life but you can single out the captains easier and if they are grouped up you can hit them all at once.
0
0
By The Roeshambo on 07 Jul 2015 21:53
Graug puke is OK once you achieved all the eating kills you need. Before that, it's just too risky imo.

Clearly the best guide but you should add a image where the Graug locations are highlighted. It would be much more efficient then having to scroll through all those battles to find the bait locations.

I've just finished it in 35:14 with a score of 14800. If i didn't have a warchief who feared Graugs I would have been in a position to clear the map around the 30 minute mark.
Here's something that I found very useful. Instead of advancing time (thus wasting time going to a fast travel location), during a riot with more then 2 bodyguards, I would kill all bodyguards except one then kill the warchief. The last bodyguard would be promoted to warchief and would always have at least 2 bodyguards. My warchief would still be in the battle and I would command him to attack the newly promoted warchief.

Sorry Phoenix, and thanks for the solution. Finally got a run that worked for me (and no stupid non-graug bait riot location). Was close tho, I didn't have 12k points yet when I hit the 39 minute mark, but I killed UgaKuga and that gave me enough for 13.5k points.I kind of used info from all the solutions.

I knew the strategy, RNG just wasn't with me until now.

Great guide. Deserves more than the 1 thumbs up I can give it! I agree that you do need to invest a bit of time in watching the videos and restarting a few times to make sure you've got Ukakuga dominated and rioting for you within 5 mins. That took me 6 or so restarts but it was plain sailing from there. Contrast to other solutions where you only find out you're off track late in the day, so you waste up to 30 mins per restart. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the quick response Phoenix. Ive tried this multiple times with Ukaguka and he keeps getting owned by Zugor. So, I tried Zugor, and I managed to kill all captains with the Graug/Zugor combo, but It left me with just Zugor on his own and less than 10,000 points. Bloody ridiculous!

A small advice to anyone who struggles with points. Killing Caragors or Graugs to farm the last 1-2 thousand points is not the most effective.

Do Shadow kills, its 40 points + 30-60 depending on the Uruk you kill. Its 70-100 points per kill and you can chain 5-6 in strongholds. Then do 2 quick brandings to fill Elf shots and continue. Its 1000 points in max 2 minutes, was never able to get even close with hunting for Caragors.

Sadly this method didn't work for me. I've tried 6 times and always ran out of time. So I decided to try Roose91 and got 2 close calls before finally doing it...

I don't think this method is bad, but it still depends on a lot of luck or at least not having bad luck specially on the Riots placement. A lot of times I've got Riots in places where de Grug bait was too far away, so the event was finished before I could come back with the Graud. Other times Ugakuga was defeated before I could finish the bodyguards...

The Roose91 method seems a little bit more consistent for me, but I would never put a -1 on this one. All the effort Phoenix C64 put on it must be recognised!

Omfg I'm sooo happy!! I had 4/5 warchiefs killed (only Ugakuga left at Beck & Call) and 9/10 captains killed with monsters and no captains left. So I let a random uruk kill me so he became captain, then I went and started the feast with about 3 min left on the clock. I found a bait and killed him with the graug. With 39 min on the clock I fast traveled to the tower closest to the beck & call and shot a bee nest and a campfire on the way to score up more points. Then I started the beck & call and as soon as Ugakuga arrived I dispathched him and got the achievement with 39:50 on the clock and 14725 points! This was also my first "real" try, glad do have it overwith! :D

I've been trying this for four hours now. I start a new attempt, get Intel as quickly as I can and restart if it's not for Ugakuga. Every single time it's a total clusterfuck. endless dork enemies attacking me and his captains and him and it's just too much to deal with. Help?

Well, I ended up going with Roose91's method and just got it done. I was very lucky as a lot went wrong and I had to dominate a random captain that got promoted and use him to riot against Shagflak with about a minute left. Luckily the riot was at the far east place with graug bait immediately near by and I was able to kill Shagflak with the graug with about 20 seconds left.

With this method, it was too hard for me to get Ugakuga dominated quickly. I watched your run in full and it things went very well for you, but I just couldn't get it to work. Thumbs up nonetheless.

Nice guide +1, still requires an incredible amount of good fortune to get the right warchief uncovered quickly, and in a place where you can defeat and brand him fast, and have riots in a nice spot to get the graug to be able to eat the required number of captains, and hit the score, and finish in the time. In 20 starts only had Uga twice as one of the first 3 uncovered and the one time I was able to brand him and start a riot he died in the scrap while I was on the graug. These 2 "test of the patience." achievements have ruined the overall game for me. Base game = great, dlc = horse shite

The riot with Thumhorn alwats starta in western Tirith Mesas which make the guide completele useless.. Since the graug bait is to far away, if you attempt to get it, the captains and the watching will flee. You'll probably be better of slaughtering all captains first with a graug.

Yep, this is the guide to follow, got it on my 4th try. Start, grab intel on a warchief, brand warchief, command riot, start riot, shoot graug bait, eat captains, eat warchief, grab your warchief and command the next riot. I actually did it so quick that all I had left was my warchief at 30 minutes so I had to let some orcs get promoted to up my points, finished with 27 seconds to spare lol.

I just finished this achievement today, and i have one tip for you guys. When and if an enemy captain has the "fear of graugs" weakness and they turn green and start retreating, you can just run over them with your Graug. No need to try to catch them and eat'em, since you can just charge over them. They will instantly die.

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but regarding your statement, "Sometimes it's better to just kill the enemy Warchief and let the bodyguards flee, as another Captain will be promoted to Warchief and get new bodyguards,"

Now wouldn't that lower how many captains you have left? For example, you killed 15/20, so you have 5 left, one of those five escaped and became warchief.....now will another Urak take its place as captain, or will there be only 4 left in the game?

Quick Question. Anyone know if you need to have 13,000 when you end it or if you can finish with 12,000 + 1000 Bonus for 40 mins which would equal 13,000. Im just over 12,000 right now and have my branded Warchief left. I got about 4 mins left.

I left this game behind quite a while ago because I was convinced I would never get this achievement. But after completing Shadow of War, I thought about polishing off the whole series. After many failed attempts, much frustration and a twitching eye, I can finally say it's done and dusted and the achievement is tucked safely in the unlocked category. Phoenix, all credit goes to you and your fantastic guides. I'm not much for a video walkthrough, but yours were incredibly helpful, as was your narration, and I thank you immensely for helping many of us obtain this bad boy. To all of those who have done it, well done! To all of those who are about to tackle it, the best of luck. Cheers!

Gave you a thumbs up. The stars finally all aligned on my 8th try. I just restarted when my first intel didn’t give me Ugakuga immediately. Then, when doing his war chief mission I ate all his bodyguards with a nearby Graug first to not lose any time. I killed all the remaining war chiefs and captains just by doing riots, as you suggested. Thanks a lot! Now I’ll try The Lord of the Ring achievement...

I unlocked it today for the GOTY version. An enormous shout-out for you, mate. I just can't stress it enough: after a bunch of bad luck tries (Ugakuga having heart attacks, not a single intel spot within the five minutes mark and so on) I had a fresh start and everything started to crumble from the scratch. Improvisation is key to success, because bad luck can always screw your run. I lured a graug into the fray when trying to subdue Ugakuga and it worked just fine, and understood it has a lot to do with luck. I would like to share my two cents on that solution as well; when rioting in the spot with no graug bait, if you head North towards the other riot place with bait, you can spot the bait from really far away and shoot it. The graug will spawn if you head a little North and and could be shadow mounted to use in the riot.
Hope it would make a difference.
Thanks, Phoenix C64. What a solution, dude.

Followed this guide and it's great, I should've unlocked it but my game decided not to spawn my last dominated captain until I spent nearly two minutes running around the area on the graug (it was in the area of my last riot I needed, then it spawned him right in front of me). Ended up with a time of 40:50 because of that.

Awesome guide! Really only took me the one real try! I say real because I accidently killed Ugakuga in one of my attempts. Then 3-5 of the other attempts just died because I couldn't get intel on him the first couple tries, so I'd start over. He actually even died in this attempt around 10 minutes in, but I ended up replacing him with the Warchief that killed him, and it worked fine.

Got it done in under 35 minutes as well. So there seems to be quite a lot of room for error in this one. For some reason, when I was on a Graug, a Warchief that talked to me, made it just vanish when he was done. It just popped out of the game, didn't die.

Hoping my GOTY edition run will go just as well.

Is there any way to abuse the cloud save feature to get this achievement?

Like if you mess something up you can redownload your save or something it would make this achievement so much easier

Appreciate your advice. Hardest part was getting the right guy at the beginning. Kept getting the spear guy no matter where I picked. I also am picking the game back up so had some wrong button presses that screwed me over. Ended up with 38 minutes and 13700ish points. Accidently ate my warchief when I was trying to finish off captains at the end. Without the boost I was a little over 12000 I believe. Had bad luck with captains and them not being bodyguards, so had to riot them with the warchief at the end but just squeaked through on score.

Hey man I just wanted to say thanks for the great guide. I was able to easily do this on both versions with your method. Ugakuga died on me on both runs though and I was forced to improvise by either branding another War Chief, a Captain that could become a War Chief or just completing it myself. Both of my runs I had to grind a little for points and had about five minutes left over. Great guide.

Holy crap I managed to get this with 30 seconds left. I got extremely lucky with the riot against Shagflak taking place next to some Graug bait. Spawned just into for me to puke him to death.

Huge thanks to this guide. I did it today in 33 mins with a score of 15680. I would say don’t give up. On my run, Ugakuga died in my fight but a bodyguard took his place so I got him instead and just carried on. I also branded the Smuggler and had them both riot at the same time, just took out Zugor and Shakflak and advanced time to replace them. Before, I was struggling to get bodyguards to hang around but after doing this, they all grouped together nicely. Kill animal packs at every opportunity for the points. Also, if like me you haven’t played for years, to kill a monster when you are mounted, its RT+B. Couldn’t figure that out for the life of me!

This guide is great, but I had to modify it a little bit personally. I kept running out of time following this, so what I did differently was at the beginning forge tower, immediately look for a Graug to the left of the tower. I’d grab him and sweep all three main strongholds for captains BEFORE I even tried to gain intel for warlords. On my successful run I managed to eat 8 captains in my first 6 minutes, which gives you plenty of room for error. After doing that I advanced time once and most of the remaining captains became warlord bodyguards. 2-3 of the warlords had 3-4 bodyguards each that you can finish up your monster kills with. I finished my run in 35 mins with 15k. Hope this helps anybody that might be struggling with it!

Following this guide I got it fairly quickly after getting a good start with intel and an easy warchief quest. Only advice I would give is I had all war chiefs and captains killed minus my dominated warchief and only had 10k points and 10 minutes left so had to keep teleporting around to find groups of orcs to build combos with. I would definitely advise using advance time early on to try and get some replacement captains/chiefs so you are not scrambling for points at the end as time dwindles.

Amazing guide! Thanks for all of this great information. Managed to kill 3 Warchiefs and 19 captains in 28 minutes. However, I was only at 10,000 points, so I just shot a graug bait, shadow mounted the graug, killed the graug with dispatch, and kept repeating that pattern until I had 13,000 points. Took about 5 more minutes. Then killed the last 2 Warchiefs and 1 captain with a single riot.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but you can manipulate saves if you make a mistake. For the test of the wild for example, I would find and possess ugakuga, then teleport to a tower, quit to main menu, quit the game (guide button, quit game). Load back up the game and you have created a save. Every time I successfully rioted I would repeat this method to make a save. If you need to revert to a previous save, press the Xbox guide button, highlight the game, go to manage game and add ons, click saved data, delete all, delete all (important, do not quit out of the game before deleting your local save). This only affects local saves, and does not impact your saves already in the cloud. Now load up the game and you’ll have the same save that you created last time. Please note that when you reload a save you will spawn at the first tower, but everything else is saved (time, kills, points). Also, Xbox does periodic saves for you. I think it happens after 15 minutes or so of gaming where a backup will be uploaded to the cloud. So maybe decide how well your run is going every 10 minutes or so and decide whether to revert to an old save or to make a new save.

I'm reading these comments and thinking... is this worth trying? I finished the base game back in 2015 and never did any add on stuff. I don't want to be stuck with unobtainable achievements... but this seems ROUGH. And combined with me having zero memory of how to play this. I'm beyond intimidated and annoyed.

Should I waste the next week trying this?

How do you kill a Graug while mounted on it? I’m only able to kill it after mounting it by dismounting, aiming and pressing B to kill. This gives less points than the mounted kill shown in the video where he kills the Graug with his sword.

First of thank you soooo much, this finally got me the achievement.... what i did only took about 23 minutes to get to the last riot (very lucky) but i accidentialy ate my own warchief so i finished with just over 35...... My personal tip would be to follow the first part to the letter, but then instead of killing all of your followers interrogate them, get intel on all close captains, kill them with the graug, after doing that i only had a couple of warchiefs and captains left, then i just did riots, got to my last one at about 25 minutes in, ate my warchief, and then the last captain was one with no weaknesses minus fear of caragors, so he was the last 10 minutes.... Hope this helps someone sick of failing this annoying achievement.... Thanks again to both of your solutions!!!

Ok, I rarely comment on solutions because I can never be arsed logging in. But I feel strongly about this one. Phoenix - huge thumbs up from me, I had almost lost hope and abandoned this achievement before I watched your videos which are so useful and entertaining (epic commentary man). Watching your playthrough makes you realise that it is doable and I like how your playthrough is not perfect with some mistakes as it shows that you can react to mistakes and not panic, but just learn from them and move on. I got the achievement on my second full playthrough (few abandoned ones) and mine was far from perfect. I accidentally ate ugakuga with 7 captains still left and then had to track down the 7 using Intel and wraith vision, I finished it with one minute to go and my arse was clenching with adrenaline.

To anyone who is struggling; persevere, the more you play the more you adapt and the better you get. I agree with Phoenix, that Intel gathering is a waste of time, if you do that, you are certain to be rushing against the clock at the end. With Phoenix's method, if you do it right you will end up with plenty of time left to play with.

Awesome guide man, and even better videos

This guide is rock solid. After a few retries getting Ugakuga, I did it on my first real run!

One thing I would have done differently: when you get the riot location in the very bottom left corner seen at 1:15 in the third video, do NOT bother getting the graug from across the valley. Both times I got this spot and tried this it nearly fucked my run. First time Ugakuga died, second time the war chief fled and I was forced to do a Beck & Call to get the next riot going.

My advice for when you get stuck with this spot is to just fight it out on the ground and protect your war chief. I managed to get the achievement, but I barely made it because I had to waste a ton of time replacing Ugakuga with another war chief.

I used a variation of the method used in these videos to get the achievement. I tried Ukakuga first, but accidentally killed him, then went after Tumhorn and was able to use him until the end. Didn't have to advance time, but had to draw Shagflak into a riot twice (he fled before I could get a Graug the first time, but he didn't last long in the 2nd riot. Props to the idea to dispatch all the branded Uruks after commanding your branded warchief. Doing so one time doesn't add many points, but doing it after every riot definitely adds up.

Thx for your comments, but I advise any reader to stick to my guide and don't stray too much from it.

I tried Zugor many times and it is too random. I want this guide to be as consistent as possible, with little randomness involved.

Ergo: no scouting, no Intel gather waste time and no Zugor as he can kill your opponent too quick, before you even get to the graug , scare him and make him flee, or damage and kill your graug with his explosive arrows

Glad it worked for you, but I won't suggest anyone to try what you did.

I think the only way to improve the solution would be a good way to find intel in the beginning. I would fast travel somewhere, jump down and look on the map for worm. I would always find at least 1, but sometimes 3 or even 4 near my position. Anyway...
I would +1 right now, but I'm playing the GOTY version. Great solution, but still I needed quite a few tries, it's very frustating. I probably restarted 6-7 times when I couldn't find Ukaguka on the 2nd or 3rd time. Then, I accidently killed him, I think I stomped him with my graug. In my good run, he was too strong and killed way too many bodyguards before I could get there, I almost got in trouble and had to get intel on a remaining captain to find him and eat him in the wild.
Finished in 37 minutes with 15k. Thanks again.

Finally got this, thanks so much for this guide (and the amusing commentary)! A couple of things I thought worth mentioning on my playthroughs:

1) Far and away the worst location for riots is the spot in the south-west. When I got this and tried to run to get the graug, 9 times out of 10 the defending warchief had fled, so it's probably best to sit and fight these ones out. Getting in an early stealth attack here sometimes helped though.

2) For getting points, if you come across a group of 2-3 carragors, it's worth shadow mounting / killing them there and then. Also take random potshots at fires, barrels etc. to nick a few easy kills.

3) Also for getting points, at the start of most riots, I sat and shot most of the enemy warchief/captain's grunts to quickly do this (and weaken him!). As the bow uses focus, it doesn't hurt the time too much (but be sure to leave enough arrows to get the Graug!)

4) Trying to get Ugakuga at the start is a pain, but rather than trying to grab a captain to get intel to find him, I found it easier to hunt around the starting location for the green square intels. If after 2-3 of these I didn't find him I just started over.

5) If you know there are any warchiefs/captains with the Monster Slayer trait, try to barrage them with Graug vomit so that they can't get a close attack in.

6) Should you ever get the chance to brand a second warchief during a riot, take it. That way if Ugakuga dies, you have a backup to riot against anyone left.

7) Try to hold your temper when the game focuses on a bunch of captains going through their whole spiel / get angry / run away crying :)

I tried this 5 times and there is absolutely no room for mistake although in your videos you make a few small ones. Every time I failed because I either did not have enough captains, beast killed captains, or points. And every time there is something that completely messes up my timing like Ugakuga dying almost every freaking time. Even though I had a back-up branded Warchief I still failed. Watched your videos twice. Maybe I just massively suck at this game. I feel I would have got it all 5 times if the time was 45 minutes instead of 40.

Great guide, just managed to scrape through this with enough points and barely enough captains to kill at 39:55. Few points to note from my run:

1. You can use the cloud save in case you mess up. When you get to a point during the Trial that you think is a good resume point, quit to the main menu and quit to the dashboard for a few seconds to upload that save to the cloud. Now when you continue your run and mess up, go to "Manage game" (do NOT quit the application, that will upload the current save where you screwed up and overwrite your "good" save) and delete the local save. This will quit the game automatically, and when you start it back up it downloads the "good" save that you uploaded earlier. You can quit at any point during the Trial if you think you're making good progress to upload the save from that point, so you don't have to start an an earlier point every time.

2. In case you're running low on points like I was, alternate fast travel between the leftmost and rightmost Forge towers, look around the area for Caragors to mount and kill (there can be up to 3 in each area, but there can also be none). You get 150 points each kill, which is great if you're down to your last Warchief/Captain but you know killing him isn't enough to get you over 13000.

I actually had a save 29 minutes in with just enough Captains to kill and not enough points, and with the 2 tips above I barely managed to succeed. If you managed to get a proper setup at the beginning without wasting time like I did, you'll definitely make it with points and Captains to spare. Considering mine was my first proper attempt (which I would have definitely failed without the room for trial and error), I'd call that a success.

My two criticisms of this guide - first is that advancing time early isn't highlighted as much as it should be/it's extremely important to level up officers so they give more points. Should be done about 5 times right after branding your warchief.

Second, Tumhorn the Beast Tamer I found to be a lot better than Ugakuga as your warchief buddy. He's vulnerable to stealth, so you can stealth brand him as soon as he spawns and save 2+ minutes over wearing down and combat branding Ugakuga. I found they had the same survivability - Ugakuga only died once, somehow, to a random officer that got promoted to warchief with advance time. Tumhorn never died on me. That combined with the much faster brand made him my go-to.

Other than those things, all the advice in this guide is spot on (for me). Following all the principles stated I got every captain and warchief down in 22 minutes, and with about 7 minutes of northern side of bridge Graug spawn farming to get to 13k to be safe, I ended at 15160 points, 29:03 completion time. Really appreciate all the time and effort you put into this!

Easiest way for points is spawn in the south west tower get the caragaths by shadow mount and execute them whilst riding gives you a buttload of points in a super short time usually you can see 3 or 4 in extremely close proximity

This trail is quite a bit easier then the Test of the Ring one just take note if you don't have enough captains to be eaten is to make new captains by dying to berserkers this way it's higher level and immediately avaliable to be found on the Captain list

Ok! I did it (on the game of the year edition.) by using a bastardised version of all guides. Ugakuga never worked for me. Zugor is who you want!

Step 1: Uncover Intel on all captains and war-chiefs.

Step 2: Graug ride and get 10 (or more) captain kills from random scouting, if your before the 20:00 mark, gobble some more.

Step 3: Take on and dominate ZUGOR. He is much better than Ugakuga as his flame arrows keep enemies at a distance, giving you good clearance to come in with the graug.

Step 4: Riot every captain and war chief left, killing the war chiefs first and then letting their captains rank up to war chief and killing them for more points (use graugs here, its over so damn quick.)

Step 5: you should only have Zugor left, DON'T advance time, just earn more points my killing Caragors/Graugs and then summon Zugor and press down on the D-Pad to dispatch him.

This solution totally worked, on the 2nd time I tried it! The first time, it was TERRIBLE luck - the Riots I sent Ugakuga on, 3 times out of 4 always spawned at the westernmost tower, which has no close graug bait nearby. If I ran off to try to get a graug, most times the riot would end before I could get back, and Uga was gone. His Beck and Call mission to relocate him was in the far northern fortress, which also took forever to get to.

2nd run, I got tremendous luck, only 1 riot out of about 10ish spawned in the bad location, so I could use the graug at nearly every riot. PLUS, I was so lucky that the couple times I did lose Ugakuga, his permanent Beck and Call retrieval spawn point was RIGHT by a tower, so I could get send him on another riot almost immediately. So unfortunately, luck is 80% of the difficulty of this achievement angry

Advice - definitely restart the Trial if you can't get intel on Ugakuga within 2 min of starting (I restarted probably 12 times). Also, Shagflak (the warchief who is immune to almost everything, especially combat finishers) is easily killed if you use the cn_A+cn_X "ground pound" move, it's the only thing that can damage him quickly (other than eating him w/ graug)

Just did it again on the GOTY version last night. Method is still solid.

Some additional tips now that I've done it twice:

1. Zugor is an asshole and should be killed ASAP when you riot against him. He's just too powerful and will wreck Ugakuga or any other war chief you have. Shadow strike to him right away, then throw knives at him until you get the combo up, then shoot fire arrows into his face. If you're quick he'll go down without getting a shot off.

2. If you used a graug bait for a riot and the next riot spawns in the same spot, don't just run over to it. Fast travel to the nearest tower. You need to do this to respawn the graug bait!

3. If you come up short on points and have some time to spare, you can rack up a few thousand quickly by abusing the graug bait location near the bottom middle stronghold. Fast travel to the tower east of it, jump down, shoot the bait, shadow mount graug, kill him right away, fast travel back to the same tower and repeat. I put up the extra 2500 I needed in about 4 mins with this method. You get 200 points per graug kill and it takes about 20 seconds.

4. To dominate Ugakuga quickly, use vault stun, mash x until you do the finisher, then hold RT for a ground attack, then do 2 Y+B executions back to back. If done correctly, he should have a sliver of health left. Use a few standard attacks and he will kneel.

5. Try to kill off the starter war chiefs early on, they're the hardest and the most likely to kill Ugakuga. Zugor is the worst, but Tumhorn can be problematic if he has a lot of body guards. If you get stuck at the crap riot spot, the fastest way to kill him is wraith flash. Use knives on other uruks to build the combo, get near Tumhorn, do 2 wraith flashes, repeat. Shagflak is only an issue at the crap riot spot. His only weakness is monsters, so take a gamble and go for the graug if he spawns here. For me he fled, but that was fine as I was able to get another riot spot against him and not waste too much time.

6. Keeping Ugakuga alive is top priority. If he starts to get overwhelmed and his health is dropping to about half, immediately kill the other war chief and end the riot. Let the captains flee. It takes far longer to get another war chief branded than it does to run another riot or 2. Also as mentioned by someone above, if you grab Ugakuga with the graug on accident, quit out right away. When you resume, the riot location will still be there. Any captains you ate will still be dead.

Notes on my attempts: it took me about five attempts -- mostly restarts after 10-20 minutes due to some disaster or other. Mostly it was Ugakuga dying.

Therein, on my winning attempt, I modified teh formula a bit. The first Warchief revealed was Ashgam. He came alone and was very easy to dominate (he's not a Combat Master so he's a great candidate for domination). I then sent Ashgam to riot, and got Ugakuga. Dominated Ugakuga as per the instructions, and left Ashgam alive.

Sent Ugakuga out on riots, but he yet again died on his second outing (I think he's very vulnerable to poison, cannot verify). Despite this, I decided to stick it out with Ashgam -- a good idea as Ashgam carried me over the finish line. Got 4 Warchiefs dead (minus dominated Ashgam of course) and all captains dead by 31:00. Was only at 9300 points though, so I spent six minutes in a fortress with a Graug vomiting on everything. This racked enough that at minute 38, I re-called Ashgam and exploded him.

(If I had to do it again, I would use the "abusing the graug bait location near the bottom middle stronghold" method listed in the comments above, as that method to rack up leftover points would have been much faster than what I did)

Point of this post: even if Ugakuga dies, you can still be successful. Also, its worth it to have a second dominated Warchief as backup if you can spare it, as its a great insurance policy.

Thanks so much. Second a couple of points others made.

Abusing Cloud Save: Definitely helpful when you get a good start to your run so you don't have to keep trying to get Ugakuga at the start again.
Bow Runes:
Ascendant,Bow Master,Knight of Eregion,Sylvan Arrow,Wind Rider
You can headshot people all day long, and the cheaper shadow strikes are great for racking up points and moving around quickly. The extra damage isn't super useful but is helpful for taking out guys like the beast butcher a little faster. And he is NOT KIDDING. That guy will mess up your day really quick, so snipe him to death and accept you will probably not get any beast kills from that riot.

Dagger Runes:
Forge of War, One with Nature, 2x Favor of the Lady
Double elfshot every time you drain/brand, poison immunity, and healing 50% on every drain/brand keeps you alive and with plenty of ammo. There's a free slot, so reckless hate can get you even more ammo. Or hidden blade for more damage.

Sword Runes:
Elven Grace,Storm of Battle,Evenstar
Damage resistance, extra damage, and focus recharge every time your streak hits 5. Depending on your edition there are some extra runes like Orc slayer for extra damage.

@Tenreth. Some tips that hopefully can help you. When I got a Riot mission on the South Western portion of the map I completely ignored running to the Graug bait because by the time the Graug spawns, the riot, for me, always ended and I needed to Beck and Call Ugakuga again, which wastes time. Just kill the Warchief and let his bodyguards run away so one of them becomes Warchief.

The fight with Shagflak. Hate that dude but found a faster way to kill him without the help of the useless Uruk. Hit Shagflak with the stun move (B), then use the flurry to gain a special move. As soon as you gain the special move hit (X,A) and Talion will punch the ground and it'll do a decent amount of damage to Shagflak. Just make sure Ugakuga ain't near as I believe the move also does damage to him, but not much.

Another thing, when your Graug spawns and body guards run from fear of Graug or Betrayal, just hop on the Graug and hold A to make the Graug sprint and if you step on the Bodyguard it's an insta kill, rather than trying to pick him up to devour his ass.

Don't know how many times I've raged over this BS achievement but If you've gotten to only 2 captains left then you got this.

I got this yesterday, first attempt, all that's to your solution! -thank you

One think I would like to remind people of is your priority should be getting Intel for the five warchiefs. Once you have ukakuga you can get a bunch of duels going and if you're lucky you can summer a graug!

Also I'm gunna share with you the tale of how I almost didn't get it
So in the final two minutes I had one final Uruk (accidentally killed ukakuga) so was a random one, but grabbed him so he wouldn't run away. By instinct I pressed A to dominate but I should've executed him right there. Now because I was still grabbing him I had to pick an option, and instead of Kill it gave me the Intel option (not sure if a glitch or something?) so I chose to dismiss him, my only option. Luckily he spawned in the exact same area I was in almost instantly. I ran over to him, but he was surrounded by guards and I was running out of time. But then I remembered he was dominated, so I hit down on the D pad and BOOM achievement unlocked!

This achievement is not impossible, you just have to have certain upgrades from the main campaign (shadow dominate for graugs and caragarth/caragors) and bring ablr to use two abilities when your combo is at 5x compute

I need to get back to the game for the second DLC and I'll do a graug bait location video like you suggest, but that will still take some weeks.

But I played this DLC and this achievements 20+ times (at around 40min each pop!!!) and the locations in my videoguide are ALL available locations. there are no more and no less locations than the ones I showed in my 4 videos, and I also explain in the video about the only one location without bait (which actually does have a bait, but too far away to be useful)

Maybe you missed one of my videos? Did you watch all 4 completely?

I also explain both here and in the video what to do when there are not enough bodyguards, through the "advance time" option.

I have received over 100 messages on XBL from random people who watched my youtube, thanking me for the videos, plus everything here on TA. So it's really weird to find someone who suposedly watched the videos still having problems.

But yes, there is some luck involved. I never said otherwise and actually watching my video shows it, as I screw up and get screwed up a few times and still manage to do it. Also people here on the comments make it pretty clear that this is NOT an achievement you'll ever get on your first try. Not with this solution and not with any other solution either. But apparently, with this solution you'll need much less tries.

Got it today using this method on GOTY, tried Rooster's (2nd attempt) got it in like 40:33 (maybe not sure on exact time because pts stopped after 40mins).

Used this method and was done around maybe 35 or 36, but kept getting pts just in case I needed more than 12,000. Ended up with 13,280 around 39 mins so I ended it there with a bit over 15k. Spawns do play a part on the riots, my last captain ended up being my last monster kill so that was a bit nerve racking.
I recommend finding intel green boys and going straight of Uga. I got him around the 3 min mark. Also I had several mistakes where people would run away or I would kill the Warchief first, promoting the bodyguards to warchief.

Get Intel on Uga, get him and riot immediately, go for captains first and you'll be in good shape. I advanced time after killing 2 other warchiefs that didnt help me much because either riot spawn wasnt the best or they had no bodyguards but I still did it in plenty of time. If anyone has any questions hmu, but this guide is spot on.

Just wanted to add this information to help people still trying. If you are still trying to get the trials achievements. I just thought I would tell you a little trick to make it a bit easier. During the trials you can make a cloud save to reuse. What I mean by that is let’s say you did really good in the first 5 mins killing a bunch of captains and maybe even dominating a warchief. You then fast travel to a Tower. When you do that it saves your game. Now exit the game to the dashboard and then manually quit your game. This will make a cloud save. Now start your up the game again and continue your trial. If you do good repeat the above steps, but if you mess up you can just go to dashboard and manually delete your save from console, then start your game back up and and continue your trail and you should be back at your last cloud save. Warning be careful not to “ delete from everywhere “. Also if you play the trail for to long with out making a new cloud save, the game ends up making one for you and lose the good one that you made.
Sorry if that’s a bit confusing but I hope you understand
I just got it today using this method. The trials are still really hard and you still need luck and skill. Plus you really do need a maxed out character. Even using the above method and a maxed out guy it still took me several attempts.
Good luck.

After many, many attempts at 40 minutes a pop, I have finally done this. Thank you all for your input in the comments section as it really did give me, and i'm sure others, new strategies to work with. I've done this 5 consecutive times now, I know this method works. If you are struggling with it and find it isn't for you, I would suggest trying one of the other excellent and very well detailed guides below.

NEW video guide on Youtube. You'll see in the video I do this in 36:22; my best time yet, i even made more than a few cock ups (as usual, running into walls, warchief essentially suffering a heart attack etc) so there is more than enough time, points aren't great, but as i've always maintained, I am playing for the achievements (and in this case helping you guys get it) and I couldn't care less if I am at the top or the bottom of the leaderboard and if you don't either then please watch and enjoy.

Essentially for this achievement you must complete the Test of the Wild whilst completing the main objective, plus all 3 bonus objectives.
These are as follows (although note, possibly not verbatim):

Main Objective: Kill all 5 War Chiefs and all 20 Captains

Bonus Objectives: Complete the challenge in under 40 minutes (bonus 1000 points)
Kill 10 Captains using a beast (War Chiefs do not count)
Obtain 13,000 points (12,000 plus above bonus)

Now this is by far the most challenging achievement in this game. You will likely attempt this and fail several times and get very frustrated (I know I did). It is very much down to luck of the draw, specifically in terms of enemy placement but perseverance is key. You cannot afford to make mistakes and I cannot stress enough the importance of using the map and the Sauron's Army page to your advantage-it wastes too much time to go to one area of the map, kill a few captains, race to the other side of the map and then realise that there was another one in the area you were previously. Furthermore, you cannot let enemies escape, that also wastes too much time as you are essentially having to track them down and battle them twice. You will want to spam use of LB (think it's called wraith vision or something) to pinpoint your foes in these areas.

When you start, immediately drop down and start dominating the generic uruks until you have intel on all 20 captains. If you happen to see worms or intel pages by all means grab them to use on the war chiefs but don't worry too much about the war chiefs for now. Now, ignoring any involved in power struggles, the majority of the captains will be centered around the 3 strongholds; the shanty town type area in the south, the fortress to the north-east and the fishery to the north-west. Use the Graugr bait on the nearest NORTH-SOUTH facing bridge to where you spawned (there is an East-West facing one not too far away) and mount the Graug using shadow mount and using the Sauron's Army screen track all the captain's down using the Graug's Y button move to bite their heads off, killing them in one hit. Ensure that you have killed every captain in that area before moving onto the next one. Again use the Sauron's Army screen to your advantage to mop up any captains not in the strongholds as you traverse the map from point to point. If you think you may have messed up and lost a bit of time, you can also ignore any Uruks who you know are bodyguards (as you can kill them during the War Chief fight), although it's probably safer to just kill all the captains (again, to clarify NOT those involved in power struggles), before moving onto the War Chiefs. You should have more than 10 beast kills by this point so that's one objective down.

With all that done I would suggest having at least 10-12 minutes left on the clock and as ever expediency is still a must. I would 100% recommend using Ugakuga Graug Rider (he doesn't actually ride a Graug like he does in the story) as the War chief to dominate, as a beserker class enemy he has a move where he can trip enemies up and then do a one hit kill move (it's actually 3 or 4 hits in the animation), where he just lays into them while they are led on the ground. This is particularly useful against Shagflak Ghul Keeper who is all but invincible to anything you can do to him unless you have a Graug handy but can seemingly be harmed by other Orcs regardless. Even then he's still a bit of a hard case but in the 4 times him and Ugakuga have gone toe-to-toe for me, Ugakuga has come out on top. Ugakuga is also pretty easy to beat as you can use the stun move or the move where you jump over him and then use combo flurry until you have a finisher, use both finishers on him, rinse and repeat. The only potential problem is that he never turns green, meaning you can't actually garb him but every time for me he has done the thing where he drops to his knees on low health and you can either kill or dominate him (i'm not actually sure what let's some captains and war chiefs do this when others get killed outright). Regardless, once you have dominated your warchief, command him to riot against each other warchief and any remaining captains (the 3 or 4 who were involved in power struggles). Utilising Riots not only skips out the mission to draw out the warchief but you also have a load of friendly uruks should things get too hairy. I would always advise killing all of the war chief's/captain's troops first and then killing the leader apart from in the case of Tumhorn who can be killed instantly with a stealth kill and will likely be alerted if you start shooting his troops. Zugor can be a pain with his rapid firing exploding crossbow but building up combo chains whilst killing his supporters and then using flame arrows on him makes short work of him as he is distracted by your uruks.

Truth be told the only captain or war chief who is consistently a nuisance, is Shagflak who I mentioned above-he will likely take a good 1-2 minutes for your guys to kill as they are pretty dumb and you can't do anything to help.

Now the question of points. DO NOT DISPATCH YOUR DOMINATED WAR CHIEF (who should be the last target standing) UNTIL YOU HAVE AT LEAST 12,000 POINTS! I never had a problem with points (you can see I'm currently 4th on the world leaderboard for a narrowly failed attempt)-except on the time I actually did it. I was over 1000 points short after killing my last target (excluding my dominated war chief obviously) and with only 90 or so seconds left I started panicking. Now in the wake of the last riot there were a lot of dominated uruks stood around who I built up combos on and then used finishers to build up some half decent points. What really did it for me though was killing 3 Carragors for I think 105 points a pop. That was luck as if they hadn't been there I likely wouldn't have got the points in time. To remedy this I would suggest making sure to kill your Graug once you are done with him and if you get an opportunity to kill Carragors (a lot seem to spawn around the starting area where you will be dominating uruks for intel) for a tidy point boost (the clock also stops whilst in focus mode-this can be used to your advantage to cover ground quickly as well). Ultimately you will also get points for dispatching your own war chief but I can't imagine this is more than 1-200 so I would play it safe. Provided you have done it in under 40 minutes you will now get a 1000 point bonus to take you up to 13,000+. Congratulations.

This challenge is annoying, it will take a lot of time and effort and ultimately I barely made it by the skin of my teeth (I am currently sat at the bottom of the elite leaderboard and had a measly 25 seconds left before failure), but as someone who has been devoting all my gaming time to this since it was released and thought it impossible, I can now say it is doable but very challenging.

Good luck doing it, please let me know if you've found any other helpful shorcuts or methods and remember: ALL HAIL BASED UGAKUGA.

EDIT: I just did this for a second time. I was streaming via Twitch but being my first time and with Twitch never mentioning that you have to select a box in settings to make videos archive automatically, it hasn't saved. I actually completed it again with just over 3 minutes to spare and this time had a comfortable amount of points. I even died twice whilst doing it. The more you try this the easier it gets, evidently.

Just to add to the point about Wretched Graugs, having attempted this a couple of times already. The strongholds (and possibly elsewhere) have 1 or 2 Graug baits hanging around so it's worth scouting these out before doing a playthrough as the Graug bite is by far the best for the creature kills and the quickest way of killing captains without instant kill weaknesses.

Also if a captain is dodging out of the way of the graug grab you can poison him then grab him. And kills with a bow on the back of a caragath count as monster kills

Another tip for the war chief that is invulnerable to stralth, ranged and combat finishes. I brand four or five people around him and get the to fight him as well. Seems to be the fastest was to kill him

I hope they fix this to either A) Fix the time constraint or B) remove the necessity for the bonus objectives. This is a lot of work for the last 50 point achievement. I'm fine with difficult achievements but this game honestly is not interesting enough to repeat this trail 5-6 times in a row.

Wicked hard. Did it in 1 hour but stops counting points after 40 minutes. That was a bummer. I ended up killing about 6-7 captains and 2 Warchief's while in a RIOT. So brand 1 Warchief and go down the list of all of them it will unlock the mission to attack them and sometimes the enemy warchief brings his bodyguards with him. That is a possibility to try. I just got done and it is very frustrating.

I just branded 1 or 2 Warchiefs and kept doing RIOTS. The Legendary Warchief that shoots balls of fire was the hardest (LVL. 20). I probably wasted 10-15 minutes trying to find captains to eat with the Graug. I only found 6/10... But killing the Warchiefs under RIOT does bring some of their bodygaurds to the battle, so that reduces the number needed. I branded majority of the opposite army to fight back during the riots and managed to have the following:

3/5 Warchiefs killed (2) BRANDED (Can easily be killed once summoned)
6/10 killed by monster
14 Captains Killed all under 30 minutes.

Like I said, the hardest part is trying to find 10 Captains to eat since i wasted 15 minutes and only found 6.

Any strategies that worked for you guys?

Tried this twice today and both times I ended up with captains with no weaknesses complete immunities had the monster slayer perk and couldn't even be counter attacked or hit with a basic attack because they countered them after so few tries this already annoyed me to the point of not wanting to go again. Also it was seven captains between the two playthroughs that did this to me

Another Advice:

DO NOT gain intel on the row below the Warchiefs. Gain an intel on (1) Warchief than once you start a riot THAT warchief you branded should have about 8-12 guys waiting to get into the fight. From there gain intel on the (10) lowest uruks as fast as you can than you should obviously kill the opponent and his captains if he brought some. I say this because the second and third row usually come along with the warchief and or are only accessible during missions.

They should now be displayed on your map with there location as green once the riot is over. These are the 10 you will kill with a monster. Easier way to find them rather than going at random around the map.

I started the DLC recently and haven't even started this... but can't you just do like always? 2-5 branded bodyguards for each warchief and activate them all (d-pad UP)?

I think we can all agree this is the stupidest achievement. I have just finished my tenth run and the best I can do is
4 Warcheifs
7 Captains killed with monsters
and 11 captains dead in general

EVERY GENERAL HAS IMMUNITY TO EVERYTHING.

Gah I hope they fix this.

have started trying on this. first attempt was not bad, 12800pt and 8 eaten chiefs without even knowing what i was doing. warchiefs were easy as i had removed all possible bodyguards. but i ran out of time. what i first started doing and went quite well is going with a mounted beast to the 3 main strongholds (top nortwest, top norteast and middle) and just run around in wraith form tagging 3-4 captains in each stronghold. some were already afraid of beasts and were 1hit kills, others i just shot at something explosive closeby or bashed at them with my sword without unmounting (counts as beast kill too) but as said, i ran out of time coz i hadnt bothered getting intel on the 5 warchiefs.
TBH it doesnt look that hard, i am sure i'll unlock it tomorrow. once i start a serious try, i'll try record it too.

oh, also: you can use fast travel, but do NOT advance time. specially not if you already killed warchiefs, because it will promote some captains to fill the spot and make you waste more time.

little hint (just a theory, havent tried yet): if you are missing captains to "eat", why not just suicide against some grunts, that will be promoted to captains AND usually roam around at the same spot where they killed you OR show up on map where they are.

Das Kuhnen i've experienced that too. What happens is the War chief counter will stay the same, but it amends the captain one as if you'd killed one more. This can actually be pretty useful, or at least not problematic as you can often kill the new warchief as he is fleeing from you killing his former master.

Phoenix C64 as far as i'm aware the game limits the total number of captains. I've seen normal "grunt" uruks be promoted on the Sauron's Army screen but when i've looked back they are immediately shown as dead. I guess this is so you don't end up in an endless cycle that is unwinnable as the objective is to kill ALL 20 Captains, not any 20.

My first try was my best today. 3/5 chiefs, 10 beast kills, 11k points in 35 minutes. Noticing captain numbers in strongholds changes each time, so running beast kills first might not be as ideal as I hoped. Gotta start hopping on caragors mid battle I think.

Guys I just did it in 41:06 I had one warchief left and under a minute and less than 400 points left to get who I could stealth OHK but it was the damn mission where you have to release caragors without being detected. As I was rushing I got detected just as I was rounding the corner to shoot the last cage door. someone rang the alarm bell so I failed the mission. You get 1000 bonus points for doing it in less than 40 minutes so I would have smashed it. Infuriated isn't the word. Argggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I don't get why they have to put one stupid achievement on DLCs for easy games. Well, I won't get this if it's frustrating as hell. Hope you guys come up with a good strategy that works or that the devs change this stupid achievement.

It's mind blowing specially since the rest of the DLC is easy just like the game was. Why do something like this?

Wasn't sure if you mentioned or not but it's probably best to utilize the carragors and their new ability to slow down time as much as you can.

So if I'm understanding correctly, we should:

1. Grab a Graug.
2. Head into a stronghold.
3. Use wraith vision.
4. Mark Captains.
5. Grind out as many Captain eaten via Monster kills in that stronghold.
6. Move on, repeat until 10/10 are done.
7. Then book it around Nurn, completing Power Struggled missions?

I'm lost. There's tons of comments here and with everything written in paragraph form, I'm not sure if there's any step-by-step guidelines in achieving this a little easier.

Or should we run around Nurn tagging all 20 Captains first, THEN grab the Graug?
0
0
By BiggDope on 18 Dec 2014 04:41
Biggdope It's down to preference I would say, unless you 100% know where you are going I would uncover the identity of all captains first. That's what I actually did on the attempt where I very nearly did it but I'm leaning more towards the other approach now. I'm loathe to change the guide at the minute because there are lots of people coming up with different hints and strategies, once myself or someone else does it with a confirmed and ordered method then i'll adjust it accordingly. Your checklist looks good though, you could just add the dominate 20 Orcs as the alternative first step.

I have not finished the DLC, but does anyone know if summoning ghouls will make it easier? The requirements under this achievement in the game state that you can use any combat equipment gained from Lord of the Hunt DLC (I think that is what it's called). Maybe that will help out getting the 10 kills with monsters. If this does work, can you still summon ghouls during the day.

@xGamBeaTx the point is: you don't have time to run around searching "green guys" in this challenge. the quickest way to gather intel is: get the closest captain (you have to get them anyways), get intel on a warchief, get a warchief, send him on a riot. help him on a riot. afterwards you have the warchief and at least 10 blue uruks you can interrogate alltogether at the same spot.

By Phoenix C64 on 18 Dec 2014 17:20
the explosive arrow seems to be the best warchief to brand by far. he is also easy, as he is vulnerable to ranged. he can win riots 1vsMany with only little help. so it's a good idea to get your 10 beast kills ASAP and then start rioting everything with that warchief.

i am getting better at the timing... but now i am starting to inmensely suck at points... any suggestions on that matter would be welcome.

Seems to be where I'm stuck too Phoenix. I either have way too many points and not enough time to kill the captains or I'm doing great at the kills and missing points. I haven't utilized rioting as of yet, as it wasn't something I did much of in the campaign. Think I'll work on it that way tonight.

Unfortunately I do not have any kind of video recording equipment past my xbox one which I believe can only record 5 minute segments and my video editing skills are entirely non existent.

I realise that's a bit of a bummer and I apologise as I have actually contemplated investing in some before for the purpose of making video guides.

Sorry again and I hope my text guide (which i've amended now) can be of some use to you guys.

another tip: if you're low on points but good on time, go to where i made the youtube, summon and kill the Graug for 200 points, fast travel to the nearby tower, run back, rinse repeat. it's not much, but 5 times = 1000 points in maybe a couple of minutes max.

Every time I get to the ugakuga fight, he just dies. Never get the choice screen. Pretty frustrating as I can make it to that part of the strategy with almost 20 minutes remaining now.

I was at 9378 points with 17 seconds past 40 minute mark and ended up killing the last captain and my warchief via head explosion. This is what I did to shorten my time.

Find intel on a warchief. Preferably one that you can brand easily and less bodygaurds.

Once branded cause a riot, (usually they end up being on the middle left of the map near the small cave, and south part of the map) both of these locations have graug spawners. This is where you can rack up your 10 monster kills. KILL the bodygaurds first because if they become warchief the meal doesnt count towards the 10. Zugar has 3 bodygaurds and Ugakuga has 3 as well. The other's for some reason never brought theirs. If done correctly you can easily get 6/10 monster kills. Which means less time getting intel on captains. Could be done within 15 minutes, depending how fast you can brand a warchief. I suggest Shagflak or Ashgam because they can be wounded easily and do not really have bodyguards. (from my experience).

IF you do go and try to brand Ugakga, KILL his bodyguards because they do not follow him during riots. HUGE bummer, i thought i was going to be able to get those last 3 meals after the last riot.

By EricGarcia4 on 19 Dec 2014 11:20
once you killed your last warchief you can head explode your branded one BUT not before you gain intel from his backup on the 9-10 captains you should have left. He should have more than enough uruks for that.
0
0
By EricGarcia4 on 19 Dec 2014 11:27
so you say, get 10 monster kills, then brand Ugakuga, kill Warchiefs and just from that point, advance time to create more and more riots ?
0
0
By xGamBeaTx on 19 Dec 2014 12:18
The number of Bodyguards are variable. I find Tumhorn, Ugakuga and Zugor normally have bodyguards but they vary in number, Shagflak and Ashgarn on the other hand don't (in all the times I've played don't think i've ever seen these two with a bodyguard). You may well be able to do it faster but skipping the captain's stage and dominating a war chief immediately and just utilising Riots, but I certainly can't confirm this and in my opinion it leaves a lot more room for error as you are potentially fighting 4 targets at once (some of whom may escape if you kill the warchief first or inadvertently expose them to any fears they may have.

By Roose91 on 19 Dec 2014 13:42
Figured out my Ugakuga problem. His weakness being combat finishers, you cant hit him while he's stunned when close to death. Once he's whittled down, try to land a normal strike or two to bring up the kill/dominate option.

Also, I don't know if this is exactly how the intel gathering method is meant to go, but I find shadow striking the one or two normal uruks straight across from your initial spawn, grabbing and dominating the most effiicient for me. After grabbing the intel, I fast travel back to original spawn tower, rinse and repeat. I can have intel on all 20 captains and usually at least 3 warchiefs via slave and uruk info holders in about 7 minutes.

By Das Kuhnen on 19 Dec 2014 14:32
@Das Kuhnen that sounds about right with the intel. One alternative, which i haven't checked if quicker or not: if you can get your hands on a green intel guy or a captain real soon and get intel on a warchief asap. then you go to that warchief, brand him and inmediately send him on a riot on another warchief (this is something you would do later anyways, so not much waste of time) ... after you helped him win that riot he stays around with his 10-20 followers... you can quickly, easily and safely interrogate all of them (leave the branded warchief for last or he will leave and his henchmen might too)

FINALLY!!!!!!!! Roose91, I followed your advice and it worked. Time: 38:18 / Score 14108

There was one Captain that did not want to pop up on the map (green zone) I wasted about 2-3 minutes running around and nothing. My stomach as inside out man when I only had one more to kill but it was during a trial of beast thing... I had to summon ghuls and free about 3 caraguars in order to have him taken down since all his buddies started attacking.

ROOSE91's advice works guys.

If you can get all 20 Captains intel under 6 minutes you are golden! If you eat majority of them under 20 you are in good pace too.

Would also say the method mentioned on that Chief with the bs arrow to shadow strike him DOES work, but I suck and was still finding myself getting hit by his f'ing arrows even when in slow down mode.

Found it mich easier to just vault, slap slap slap, smash ground twice, rinse and repeat.

if anyone has problems with the warchief that has explosive arrows... he's is one of the easiest ones because he is vulnerable to ranged. 5 charged shots to the face followed by 2 explosive shots and he's dead. and shadow strike attacks are considered ranged, that's why they work so well too.

I don't know if this was asked or if it even matters... but...

Would uninstalling parts of the DLC help? Such parts like the beserker captains, etc? I have no idea how the game determines the captains and warchiefs you face, but obviously, if you could get the game to generate a playthrough with the weakest foes, that is optimal. I noticed a lot of this content from the season pass has to do with adding random foes in that have increased rune rewards, but are harder to kill.

Also.... is this achievements requirements cumulative? or does it reset to 0% on a new trial. I am going to do all I can to get 100% on this game, but it disturbs me when companies make achievements so ridiculous that you don't want to deal with said company anymore. Its just one of those " achievement completion " psychie things.

@Twigleaf Twigs 1) i don't think individual DLC has any impact on this 2) obviously the progress for this specific achievement resets to 0% everytime you try, or we wouldn't need 120 comments to come up with strategies ^_^ 3) the achievement is not that hard. there are different methods, maybe try one of the other solutions if you coulnd't get it with this one 4) i like hard achievements. i actually feel like i ACHIEVED something when i complete them.

Feared Aussie All 3 weapons have a bar that you'll see next to the minimap, when it's full if you press the left and right sticks simultaneously you can unleash a special ability. That's the bows one (the most useful IMO), which allows you to fire an endless amount of flaming arrows (RB-normally only get them when hit streak is charged) until the bar depletes.

A couple tips from my successful run:
1 - Don't give up hope if you can't brand Ugakuga; I was able to brand another, who happened to have a berserker/brute in his group.
2 - When rioting with the tougher war chiefs, especially those who specialized in Combat, I would help my uruks by wraith stunning the opposition. This really helped speed things up.
3 - If you're short on points but have a few minutes to spare (like I was), I alternated fast traveling between the NW corner of the map (near docks) and the starting spawn. From there I would quickly hit the nearby Graug bait, mount him, and score 200 points. If you're lucky, a Caragor or two will also be nearby.

Also, Roose, is it possible to reveal your rune setup for your sword, dagger, and bow? I think that may help a lot of people in getting the right tools before preparing to do this trophy.

I accidently deleted my last comment, so I'm reposting it.

My results are the following.

Time - 37:10
Score - 15,379

Your guide works perfectly and I was able to gain this achievement (or trophy, in my case, since I have been playing this on PS4). I was really lucky that Shagfluk was at the right riot location with graug bait, so it was simply a matter of getting on that Graug and biting his head off, then killing the Graug and dispatching Ukaguka and his followers to finish the trial and gain the trophy.

I'm not going to downvote your solution: I tried it many times and never once came close to completing it. I tried Phoenix's and I got it on my third try. Everything you list and detail is right on the dot, I think maybe I just had bad luck, but I'm sure your solution will be of help for others.

I missed this by 17 seconds last night :( I personally feel as though Ugakuga is terrible he always dies against Zugor for me, so I just started using Zugor all the time. I dunno if it's mentioned here in the vast amount of comments, but something I saw mentioned in a another person's video guide on this is to ensure to dispatch your warchief's minions after each riot after you grab him and set the new riot of course. This is where I made up my missing points from.

Ugakuga is the best, Zugor is vulnerable to ranged, so as soon as the fight starts, just shoot him down

Just smashed this with 2 minutes to spare with a score of 15692. I had all 20 captains revealed in 5 mins. Multiple captains right in the same area helped and I still had a couple hiccups that kept me from being even quicker. I know if I can do this, then most anyone can. Just don't know if they want the hassle. I wish I had watched your videos before attempting this too Phoenix. Your tip of dispatching enemies after the riots was the key that put me over the top. Both yours and Roose's strategies combined are what helped me. Thanks a lot guys.

Wow, this was a tough one! Thanks so much Roose for the video and other info, and everyone who commented. It took me 3 attempts: 1st one at 40:20, 2nd at 40:09, and finally 3rd at 39:59! I thought I had plenty of time to spare the third time but nobody would kill stupid Shagflak and wasted about 3 or 4 minutes. Thankfully, the last captain was vulnerable to ranged so I was able to shoot him and dispatch Ugakuga right away. To anyone else attempting this strategy works! There is definitely some luck involved with spawns, so if you have bad luck just restart! Thanks again everyone.

This achievment should die in a hole somewhere. I had no problem at all with every other achievment in this game, and this one is just needlessly difficult. It's one thing to kill all these guys in 40 minutes, which in itself is EXTRMELY difficult. But do get 13 k points in the process? I could see this as doable without the point requirements, but as is, you'll need to finish every thing with time to spare and then get a couple more thousand points, which is very difficult.

Screw this achievement, the only one I have left in the game, really pissed I have to keep playing this game (it's a great game, just very bored of it at this point)

I just got this after 30+ attempts, easily one of the most frustrating acheivements I've ever done. I don't understnad how you could ever have enough time if you spend the first 5 or so minutes getting intel on everybody. I found it best to begin by branding ukaguga then spend a few minutes running around hoping to find some captains while on a graug. If by the 15 minute mark you're not at 10, it's okay because graug bait spawns in many power struggle locations. Start attacking the first warchief with ukaguga and use graug bait to get a graug and kill any of the warchief's bodyguards. I found that killing the warchief and all but one captain was highly important, because the surviving captain became the new warchief and would get a bunch of bodyguards for himself, allowing you to repeat the process until all the captains are dead. Using this I had everyone but ukaguga dead by 35 minutes and needed about 1000 points, I found going to where you spawn and mount killing any caragors/ graugs you find was a quick way to get points. Then just beck and call ukaguga and dispatch him.

Very very gald I'm now done with this game, it was a lot of fun excpet for this one achievment taking me upwards of a month.

Just a reminder for anyone trying this achievement: Make sure to use your bow constantly! Having a rune that refills focus with headshots is a must too. Remember, when your in focus/ranged mode time slows way down. I wouldn't have even come close to getting this without it. Also, don't forget your shadow strike when needing to travel longer distances, especially after a fast travel. I would immediately go into ranged mode and look for an enemy in the direction I was needing to go, and you can cover a long distance in a fraction of the time! Good luck guys!

Started with Phoenix's method but gave up after a few hours. I just couldn't get Ugakuga dominated- I'd get overwhelmed by dork enemies and his bodyguards.

My final run came after hitting 40 minutes in a riot against the final captain with him at like 1/10 health. Super frustrating.

in my successful run, a lot went wrong. Ugakuga got killed when I was trying to dominate him. A random captain got promoted and I ended up having to dominate him, then riot against Zugor and Shagflak with less than two minutes left. I got super lucky as both riots were in the same spot in the far east/center of the map (rightnear groug bait!), so I killed Zugor quickly, then was able to initiate the riot against Shagflak immediately, then bait the groug and use him to kill Shagflak. Any other combinations of locations would have meant a failure as I had about 20 seconds left when all was said and done.

I had all captain locations at about 7mins I then used the graug and had 11 captains killed at about 16 mins.

I was doing good on time got ukakuga dominated did about 3 warchief riots. But for some reason I was on 36 mins and I still had 2 power struggles to do and 1 warchief.

I dunno what happened or where time went but this is so difficult

This achievement is nuts.

I finished last night with 56 minutes and 11,890 points (somewhere below 12,000).

I honestly don't know how the one person who got this did it. The Warchiefs have the most absurd invulnerabilities. Most of them are always "Combat Masters" AND immune to Ranged Attacks, so the only fast way of dispatching them is to stun, triple hit, stun triple hit, repeat. That, or you can dominate nearby Uruk to help fight, but that still usually isn't quick enough.

Also, the requirement for 10 monster kills is a little too much. Half my Captains never show up in Nurn unless I begin a Power Struggle mission, so how the hell am I to kill ten while riding a Caragath or Graug?

Are people sure dominating the first ten Captains you see, and then summoning them near a Graug, thereby getting the monsters kills out of the way, not a good strategy? I don't remember from the main game whether you ALWAYS need to go to a branded Captain's mission start to summon him.

Gah. This is so hard :(

Gonna play around with all the tactics I can think of tonight and see where it gets me. My thought is get the ten monster kills via graug out of the way first, marking them with the shadow vision. I noticed in my first run that 2 of the warchiefs were possible to stealth kill, the one shooting exploding arrows included. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to have beasts play a major role in getting the requirements overall, given that's what the DLC added. I also need to be better about combat branding and using Talion's special ranger abilities (clicking the left and right joysticks).

A note on point boosting - shadow mounting a caragor and killing it is roughly 125 points I think (20 for the mount, 100 for kill)

My only run last night I had 3/5 warchiefs, 1/10 eaten, 9 captains killed and 1200 points in about 30 minutes before giving up.

just woke up and happy that i could help you guys, however you got one part wrong: i never used a Graug as they are hard to find (alltho one seems to spawn frequently little under the northwest stronghold)... i always used Caragors! they are faster and more mobile.
the trick to efficiently use Caragors is to create distractions:
i rush into a stronghold and activate all baits, open all cages, even use the fly things some times. once i find a captain i go straight for him. without any intel, i try to figure his weakness this way:
1) try Caragor stealth kill. this will tell me already if he is weak against stealth and caragor
2) if that doesnt inmediately work, I try arrows.
3) if that doesn't work I try fire/explosions either with random stuff lying around or I try get 5 combo and shoot a fire arrow
4) if that doesn't work either I just unmount and kill him normally. sometimes I manage to get him "green" and if my Caragor is still alive and closeby I mount up again and finish him

The change I will make to my strategy today, is to gain intel on all 5 warchiefs before I go on a captain rampage, because many times the warchiefs are closeby
Also: if I see any of the warchief missions are unreasonable, I will straight away reset.

@BiggDope depends how you wanna do it. you only have to "Beck and Call" the first time. You see, when you actually go to the riot to help him, after the fighting, he's just standing there. So dominate him again and send him on the next mission.

I'm now ranked 4th in the world for this challenge but don't have the achievement and there are 5 people with the achievement. This challenge is fast eroding this love of my game and clunky mechanics start to become a lot more evident when you're on such a small timeline. 51 seconds over time, largely because when I used dispatch it only killed my war chief and not the captain who was with him. Even so I was 1 second over when I killed what should have been the last guy.

B R A M M Z I E Some of the war chiefs will go green when on low health, this means that they are now susceptible to branding whether through you grabbing and then dominating them or through combat branding (think you may be able to successfully combat brand before then but it's success rate is significantly reduced). In the case of Ugakuga who will never go green, try getting him onto low health and in my experience he usually will surrender allow you to dominate or kill him. I would stick to normal attacks and not finishers after getting him to around 1/3 of his HP though otherwise you'll do what I did in the video and end up inadvertently killing him.

Just to add to that as well, I have now done it 4 times, there is no doubt in my mind that the method works, but at the same time there is people who can't get it to work. I guess it's down to your playstyle really. I've generally been taking around 7-8 minutes for the uncover all targets phase, but a guy messaged me today saying that he was consistently failing the achievement despite doing that stage of it 2-3 minutes faster than I do on average. People probably watch my video and think in places "why he is wasting time doing that?" or "I could do that bit quicker" and I know i've watched people's videos and read their suggestions and strategies and thought the same, but ultimately it's what works for you. But to summarise, I definitely think that it's more to do with what us "originals" if you will, worked out as a collective than just the fact that we weren't very good at it.

To be honest, I just could not get ugakaga to reliably be one of my first intel picks it was almost always zugor. So I ended up just saying screw it, lets try zugor even though everyone says no. I found him much easier to grab than ugakaga too, just arrow spam until he kneels then run up to him to dominate easy peasy.

Much to my surprise, he destroyed everything for me easy ( I had already run around like an idiot with a graug to get my 10 captain kills so it didn't matter to me if he took them down too quick in riots). So' I guess don't discount the super damaging bow guy. =P

I will make no qualms about it, this was; by far, the hardest achievement I've earned. There have been plenty of achievements that were time consuming by design, but never one that challenged me mentally and physically like this one. I attempted this achievement at least twice a day for almost 2 weeks until I got it.

Sometimes it felt that the game was consciously trying to keep me from getting it. Captains wouldn't show up, my branded Warchief would get killed immediately, once my graug was killed by some random guy, so many other things. At one point I didn't think I had a chance at getting this but I could tell I was getting closer. Once missed it by a minute, once missed it by less than a thousand points. I usually had to stop playing because it was giving me the shakes. But, finally, I was able to stay up on a Friday and attempt a few times in a row and finally got this sucker.

Thanks for the wonderful guide!

After trying Phoenix C64 method 6 or 7 times, always running out of time, I decided to give this method a try.

I got 2 close calls, so it seemed more consistent to me. The tricky part is to gather intel on all captains in less than 10 minutes. I managed to do it in a little less than 8 minutes on my successfull run, plus doing the monster kills around the 20 minutes mark.

After that I went for the power struggles to finish the remaining captains. I had to gain 3 intels to unveil Ugakuga than braded him. After this, that was a question of starting Riots against the other Warchiefs. I used the Graug baits showned on Phoenix method to have quick kills on the other Warchiefs, but that gave me less points than battling them directly.

After the Riot against the last Warchief (considering Ugakuga aside), I had around 11.000 points, even a little less, I think. But I remembered that dispatching Ugakuga and his allys had net me more than 1.000 points on one of my close calls before, so I decided to take the risk instead of scouting for points. It worked greatly! As a matter of fact, I ended up having a little more than 14.000 points, including the bonus for completing the trial in less than 40 minutes...

About this huge amount of points granted for dispatching Ukaguka, I think it was due to 2 factors. First, I had a combo multiplier active after beating the last Warchief (I'd battled him instead of using the Graud and tried to keep a high combo before finishing him). Also, I think that since Ugakuga get to the maximum level after winning so many Riots it adds up points to the kill. Maybe the instant kill and branded status also counts to add up points...

In the end, I had almost 4 minutes left to spare, so I could have gone after more kills to cumulate points. If you don't care about the leaderboards, keep in mind that dispatching Ugakuga will give you a good amount of points, so if you're close to the 11.000 mark, don't even bother going after kills...

Phoenix, no problem buddy, it's good for people to have a few options rather than just trying one and it doesn't suit them.

Das Kuhnen, not to blow my own trumpet, especially given the input came from a lot of us (probably starting to sound like a broken record with that-but really, thanks everyone who contributed), but I think honestly there's so many people getting it now because we cracked it and they know what works as a result. I mean there is 50 tracked gamers with the achievement, probably a dozen or so more who aren't tracked, but when you consider that my Twitch video alone has almost 350 views in the 4 days it has been up, and compare that with the unlock dates, I would almost guarantee that the majority of people who have done it, if not all, have benefited from us pioneering the method to complete it.

Also Phoenix, your strategy is the best i've tried so far. By miles. Just run over time (currently on 40:11) and in battle with my 3rd war chief, I've killed 18 Captains (15 were beast kills) and have 11090 points (pretty confident I could make up the 1910 left with the last 3 War Chiefs and 2 Captains with a few mobs thrown in though). The trouble here is undeniably the time limit. I honestly do not know what I could have done faster or more efficiently and it's a pain because I cleared out the 3 strongholds (which had anywhere between 1 and 4 captains in each) in i'd say around 15 minutes but was forced to start dominating enemies for their locations, only to be shown that they are in the stronghold on the other side of the map that i'd killed everyone in 3 minutes prior! Also not sure if this is just me being slow, but the war chiefs are the same every time but I think their perks are jumbled up a little each time. This time I only had one of the near unkillable ones and one who had an insta-death weakness which is always refreshing.
At 50 minutes it would be very challenging but doable. 40 minutes is an obscenity.
Think i'm going to limit myself to trying this once a day now as it's starting to become an obsession.

Got it!!! Wow this one has been pissing me off.

Many many thanks to those who contributed to this thread and in particular Roose himself. Not sure I would have got it without.

I changed up the tactics a bit - Here's what I did. Took me 2 runs tonight. First time missed by 20 seconds. Second time had the Chiefs dead and all captains by 30 mins in, with a score of 10k. Spent the next 7-8 mins fast traveling to the initial spawn tower, and hitting the graug bait on the nearby bridge, dominating the graug and any caragors that were around. Got the achiev with about 38 mins gone, though I was super careful and got to 13k before I killed my dominated war chief *just in case* lol. I was at 12k after 35 mins. So much much time to spare.

In the run I spawned in, immediately went looking for moles and continued until I had unlocked the mission for the god awful war chief with the exploding insta death fire arrow of much bs. Used the skill where you slam your fist into the ground damaging everything around you until I could dominate him.

Then sent him off on Riots, each time grabbing a graug and eating the captains that turn up as bodyguards.

After initial chiefs were down, used the method mentioned either in this solution or the other one, and get more chiefs, and rinse and repeat the above - Some of the newly promoted chiefs were turning up with 3! bodyguards.

I didn't kill a single captain outside of a war chief riot mission.

Final stats -

38:26 time
15,042 points
13 eaten captains

There are way to few ghouls around to make it work. Tried myself a while ago. Plus: the ghouls aren't really yours until you brand them, and that's a pain in the ass mid combat as you need a 5 combo AND being surrounded by ghouls closely.

I also found that running around on a beast and rushing to the 3 big strongholds is too random. I didn't find any captains because they still were anonymous, but after getting intel turned out they actually were in the stronghold I just cleaned.
So it's important to gather as much intel on regular captains as possible before clearing the strongholds with a Graug or Caragors.

Anyways, beeing trying some stuff this morning. Not achieved this yet, but getting closer.

Things to mention:
- Riots is the best way to quickly kill plenty of captains. Problem being: you don't usually have beasts around to get beast kills. And so you can easily kill 11/20 captains without beasts and shoot yourself in the foot.
- In my last try I killed like 8 warchiefs and was still stuck at 2/5 because their bodyguards instantly were promoted. And in a riot it's hard to control in which order every guy dies as your troops are fighting too.

The strategy I am building (and hopefully record on video if succesful) will be more or less like this:

1) find the closest captain be it by gheist form or by going to the closest red mission. whatever is closest. brand him and get intel on first warchief
2) go and brand that warchief. doesn't matter which one it is. send him on a riot on a REGULAR captain
3) go to that riot, brand that captain to get intel on a REGULAR captain and kill him. or just kill him if you don't manage to brand him
4) now the interesting part: you have your blue warchief with all his troops. get intel on regular captains from every single blue uruk around you. don't kill them, they might be useful later. get intel for a regular captain from your own warchief.
5) now you should have plenty of locations on some regular captains. go get some beasts and start working towards your beast kills. NOTE: it is important that you're familiar with the areas, specifically where all the Caragor baits are. Also important to know where a Graug can and can not pull up ledges or you'll waste a lot of time.
6) this part I am still working on, but my plan is to firstly kill all regular captains and leave the 4 (including my blue) warchiefs till the end, to avoid the bodyguard problem.
7) the brilliant part about having one warchief branded is that you don't care about intel on the other warchiefs. you won't have to do any missions to draw them out either. when you're ready to kill warchiefs, just go tell your own one to riot and go help him.

that's the THEORY. after lunch (few hours from now) i'll start working on the practice.

Thanks for your input guys, i'll update my post accordingly. If anyone can confirm whether or not 3 separate runs count, that would be awesome but I very much doubt they do right now.

I'm also going to note that whilst i'm not in the business of throwing around accusations, I reached out to the user with the achievement last night. I'm yet to receive a reply (though it's not even been 24 hours yet admittedly) and no date is shown under "date found". I'm not even sure it is possible to hack or glitch achievements on the Xbox One though so i'm not necessarily suggesting that as of now, but it would be nice if he could let us know.

Eric, you can find any of the captain's while freeroaming, it's probably easier to locate some of them via missions or whilst they are bodyguards but you can find every one no matter which tier they are on. War Chiefs are the only targets who require a specific mission to appear.

I got my strategy from messaging the guy who is currently #1 on the world leaderboard (he's got 17559 points). This is it but he just gave me a basic framework that i've fleshed out myself. He said to run around getting all 20 captains revealed, then get a Graugr and go around killing all non-bodyguard captains who are not involved in power struggles. Then kill the Graugr. He didn't say what to do about those in power struggles so I just did them next. When you fight your first warlord, dominate him, I used Ugakuga as he is easy to beat but a bit of a tank against other orcs, now with the exception of Ashgarn and the bloke who you can stealth kill in one hit use riots against the other warlord (with their bodyguards if they have them). Kill all the uruks yourself and let your orcs deal with the war chief.

Now, whilst he is the guy with the achievement and I am merely the guy who nearly got it using his strategy I would dispute that the first step in conducive to accomplishing this. It took me just short of a full 10 minutes to uncover all but 2 of the captains-far too long for my liking. I would actually suggest the method I've adopted from Phoenix C64 above where you gun it straight for a Graugr and head to strongholds, killing captain's as you go and dominate orcs to mop up the last 5-10 you are missing. Then get to work on the War Chiefs.

Thanks Roose91, spent the night trying it using this guide and just got it done. The attempt before my successful one, I had like 3 minutes left but didn't have enough points and I had no way of getting them in time as nothing was nearby so unfortunately I failed it. On my next go, as I went around at the beginning grabbing random enemies and getting the positions of Captains, I shot any nearby random beasts with arrows to get some quick points. I got the positions of about 14 or 15 Captains as you only need 10 of course for the monster kills and also collected any Intel icons along the way until I discovered which Warchief was the one you recommend in the guide, Ugakuga. Although another one I had on my attempt before was pretty good, not sure what his name was but he had spears I think and so did his warriors. Sometimes Ugakuga wouldn't attack in a battle on one of my earlier attempts, he just waved his arms around & was doing silly stuff which was wasting a lot of time. He didn't do that on this attempt though.

So yeah once I had him dominated, I triggered riots with all the Captains I had left then the Warchiefs. I got lucky with Shagflak twice, on my previous attempt there was a bait hanging nearby so I shot it to spawn a Graug then preceded to eat him quickly (Shagflak) and I also had one nearby on this attempt so I did the same. If there isn't one, you could be in for a long battle if your allies just stand around & do nothing even when you order them to. Like you put, stealth is definitely the best way to take out Tumhorn quickly and staying up high when you are against Zugor and spamming him with arrows with flames is also what I did. Once again, had a few minutes left and was a few points short (though had more than last time). I quickly killed nearby enemies & beasts then I had a score of 11936 when I decided to kill my branded Warchief which then, with the added time bonus, gave me 14016. I recorded the last 5 minutes using Upload, showing me running around panicking to get a few more points haha. Thanks again for the super guide! Hopefully the next DLC won't be so crazy.

I was the 2nd person to unlock this achievement :)

As soon as you start, lean over the edge and shadow mount a caragor. Press LB to put on your ghost vision and look around for Captains, sometimes there's one or two right by where you start. If there's Captains kill them but if not just start riding around turning your ghost vision on and off looking for them. After playing a bunch you should be familiar with the areas which Captains hang out and you can ride your caragor around trying to find them saving time by using the new slow down time feature for your caragors from the new DLC (Jumping over rocks and coming down from ledges will prompt you to press A and you will run faster and the time will slow down. You must utilize this as much as possible.) While looking for Captains, if you come across some easy to get intel go and grab him and unlock some Warchiefs.

The first thing you want to work on and get out of the way is the 10 monster kills. Even though grabbing graugs and running into forts to eat Captains is good and you can try do this if it works out for you especially in the top left fort and the bottom middle are pretty easy to run through places with the graug and you can get some easy monster kills on the Captains. During my run that I got the achievement I barely even used graugs, only once or twice. The way I was getting monster kills was running around with the caragor and trying to stealth kill Captains, sometimes they would die instantly. If they didn't die I would shoot them with arrows until they did, which counts as a monster kill fortunately. If the Captain was unable to be hurt with the ranged attacks/arrows I would hit him with the sword trying to kill him and when he had low health you can hold RT and press Y to jump off your mount and assassinate him, which also counts as a monster kill. If you try to eat the Captain while hes on the ground it usually doesn't do much damage or he could kill your caragor so I would refrain from that. If the Captain causes too much trouble or kills your beast you can just kill him and move on or you can look for a graug spawning bag of rocks (which are hanging around various spots on the map) you can see them when you turn your ghost vision on.

So get the monster kills on Captains asap and grab intel so that you can unlock Warchiefs. The Warchief that you need unlocked is the big one, the berserker Ugakuga the graug tamer. Hes the only Warchief you need to unlock. Once you've got your 10 monster kills and unlocked the graug tamer with intel go and start the mission to call him out. This should be your only mission you do to call out a Warchief since they take up too much time. Do the objective, once hes out try to kill his bodyguards first if he has any, then beat his ass. Don't kill the Warchief but dominate him and command him to riot against another Warchief. Go to the riot mission and kill the Warchief and make sure your dominated guy stays alive. I tried to kill the Warchief first mostly because when a Warchief dies one of his bodyguards will take his place and you can kill him right there after and you will be rewarded with more points for killing a Warchief rather a Captain. The only thing is the bodyguards will be running away after you kill the Warchief so you gotta be quick.

Now once everyone is dead, grab your dominated Warchief before he vanishes and dominate him again and command him to riot against another Warchief. This is what you're gonna be doing for the rest of time. Commanding your Warchief to riot saves you so much time because you don't have to waste time drawing any Warchiefs out, you just go to the riot mission and try to kill the Warchief as fast as possible. (Just make sure your dominated Warchief doesn't die or escape while doing the riots) Going to a spawn tower and pressing Y will "Advance Time" and by doing so you can turn the other Captains (unknown or not) into Warchiefs and continue to riot against them with your dominated Warchief. Doing this you will have no problem getting under the time limit. The only problem you might have is killing some of the Warchiefs. One of the Warchiefs you can kill with a stealth takedown but some of the others are tricky. For the Warchief with the crazy rocket arrow shooter, the beast killer I believe, you can kill him with Shadow Strikes. Just spam him with it by holding LT and pressing X, don't even give him a chance. Shagflak the grul tamer Warchief basically can't be hurt by your attacks, but you can combat drain his guys and they will attack him and kill him or you can grab a graug if theres one close by.

Now for the points, which was my only problem after using dominating and riot technique. The best way to make extra points in my opinion is executing controlled monsters. Towards the end I was coming up short in points so I was shadow mounting caragors and graugs and then killing them by holding RT and then hitting B (I think) to kill. It gives you 150 for a caragor and 200 for a graug. If you kill your tamed monsters while your going through your 40 minute run you should have no problem with the points. I didn't start killing my beasts until my last 10 minutes. Well good luck with this achievement and I hope this helps you, please feel free to ask me any questions.

Using your short and sweet example I was able to complete the achievement after about 5 attempts with just over 1 minute remaining. I had 11086 points when I dispatched the final Warchief and his homies. My heart was racing!

I just unlocked this last night finally but there are some issues with each guide that need to be accounted for. First off, right off the bat you always spawn in the same spot, the bottom right forge tower and their is a graug bait hanging right there as well. Here are the easy steps. and by the way, you only need 10,600 points before dispatching the last warchief not 12,000 like earlier mentioned and I'll explain.
1. soon as you spawn look down and left and you'll see orcs with slaves. shadow strike, don't kill one of them knocking them down then grab the other and dominate for intel. If more than two, fight and auto brand them till you have enough on your side and then grab and dominate for intel.

2. after this first group, look over the bridge and you'll see more, keep shadow striking and grabbing to dominate. if there is a large group, you may have tofight a few seconds to brand some prior to dominating for intel. These guys respawn very often but ifthey are gone look down and you'll see caragors fighting orcs. shadow mount and immediately kill the caragors then continue grabbing orcs to dominate for intel. they are all over this area walking both down below and up top. You can see the ones up top from the ground at bottom and can shadow strike up to them if youdon't have any guys down below.

3. Green intel. there is always green intel around this area either in orcs walking below, the first set of slaves or the archers tower directly across for thespawn forge tower. use this unlock atleast one warchief. The one you really want is Kugor beast hunter with the fire arrows, not Ugakuga. Ugakuga tends not to fight often and the one warchief is a combat master and resistant to range so it takes forever to kill him. Kugor just fires his arrows at him on fire and he dies within a minute. Also, Kugor is susceptible to ranged and takes 6 arrows to kill him enough tojust walk up and dominate him. Boom, easy peezy.

4. You should be able to get all 20 captains location, atleast one warchief and be on a graug before 8minutes passes by. I did it at exactly 7:02. The easiest graug bate is hanging from the suspension bridge directly across from the spawn forge tower. Soon as you get on, bring up the map and go directly left across the map to the bottom left hand side killing captains as you go but do not kill captains in power struggles, leave them for warchief. The bottom middle stronghold usually has 3-5 in there alone plus on the sides of them. Once here, Go straight up to the top left hand stronghold. You can run through here with Graug and kill as you go. Now go down and right across the top of map top right stronghold killing captains as you go. The top right stronghold has an area in back where Graug can't go so save this area for last. Kill these captains as fast as you can then jump over the edge and hang out of sight till the red arrows go away allowing you to fast travel.

5. Bring up map and fast travel to spawn forge tower closest to Kugor or your warchief's mission to call him out. Do all the captains in power struggles first so they are dead when you fight warchiefs and immediately take out their followers with arrows. This causes warchief to focus on main opponent. Now use arrows on enemy if you can, if not drop down and fight using your two finishers every time combo goes red and you should beat each one inside a minute.

6. Fight any warchief in any order. The hardest one is Shagfluk b/c he can't take damage from arrows or combat finishers. This is where Kugor comes in b/c the fire arrows wipes him right out while Ugakuga doesn't fight that often unfortunately.

7. Once you are done and the only warchief left is your own, you should have atleast 10,600 points. If you don't try finding some caragors or Graugs to kill as they give you over 100 and 200 each pointwise. Once you have 10,600, kill your warchief. You will get just under 500 for killing him, another 1,000 for completing the mission and then another 1,000 bonus for doing it under 40 mintues, this will put you right over the 13,000 point mark. I had 11,876 when I dispatched mine and finished with over 14,400 once I dispatched my warchief.

Hope this helps as by far this is the hardest achievement I've tried to get ever. thanks to roose91 for providing the framework

After so many days of trying and practicing all mechanics of this game, I figured out how easy this achievement is to be knocked out!

All you have to do is:

1- Find any worm as soon as the timer starts, brand him to gather intel of any Warchief.
2- Once that Warchief mission appears on your map, go and start it, ignore any captains you may find on your way.

"Optional" you can kill his bodyguards first using a Graug to make his fight more smooth, but I found out that killing them during the Warchief fight takes lesser time, also drawing their weaknesses is pretty easy.

3- Don't kill the Warchief and try as hard as you can not to perform any execution to him when his health bar is less than 20%, you have to rely on your regular hits till he give up hence giving you a chance to brand him.

4- IT'S GRAUG TIME BABY! make your branded Warchief kills all other Warchiefs, you'll kill two birds with one stone as you'll work towards "10 captains kill by monsters" by killing the watchief's bodyguards with your Graug, and you'll also work towards killing all Warchiefs.

5- Since I've mentioned the importance of Graugs so many times, the image below shows you all Graug baits so you can check it everytime to learn their nearest location when you're in a Riot mission.

6- Don't hesitate to kill Warchiefs by Graug, this will buy you a great time to kill all of them with less than 20:00 minutes.

7- Doing this method you should've kill all captains and warchiefs within 25 - 35 minutes. Now don't kill your branded warchief, check your score first, you've to be at 11,500 at least before ending his life, so if you're below that fast travel to the farthest east tower, and keep draw out the Graug then brand and kill him, fast travel again, continue doing that method will give you 100 XP every kill, so you should be fine after 8 or 10 kills.

8- This is your last step, once you're 11,500 or 12,000 .. Go to your branded Warchief, put an end to his miserable life aaaaand .. The achievement is yours!

This is one of the hardest achievements in the game though it is so much easier once you figure out how to do this and get on lady luck's good side to start.

Once you load the game up, enter wraith mode and open up your map. If you see a green intel icon go there immediately and get the intel. If you do not see anything quit and restart. Sometimes you will get multiple intels on your map. What you want to do is try and get Ukugagu. He is probably the best guy to get because he is a tank. He is good at staying alive and isnt too OP. Zugor is quite OP and can cause issues by killing the captains or body guards before you can eat them with a graug. Once you get one of those two battle them and defeat them so they drop to their knees and you get the option to dominate.

I ended up with Zugor so I tried to make the best out of the hand I was dealt. What I did was grab a graug after getting Zugor to appear and tried to eat as many of his 4 captains as possible. I got two of them and he killed the graug. So I beat him, trick to beating him is to build up your combo and shoot the fire arrow at him. Using the wraith punch + slashing will accomplish this.

Once you dominate him, you will want to command him to attack other warchiefs. Go for the ones with body guards. Below you will see a link and it will have the graug bait locations,

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=51799...

Use the Graug bait when you start the riot and eat the body guards then the warchief. After the battle is done, grab your warchief and command him again to another warchief. Once you send him away consume the Uruk under your control(You want to do this after commanding because it will kill your warchief if you dont send him away. You will get a lot of points plus 100 ponts for Graug kill.

Rinse and repeat until no warchiefs are left. I would then focus on the remaining monster kills needed by rioting the captains and once you hit your 10 kills start advancing days to get new Warchiefs and Captains. You do not need to worry about Captain kills, when a Captain is promoted, it counts it as a Captain's death but also removes a warchief death because there is now 1 more warchief now. The benefit of making new warchiefs is that they will get bodyguards making it quicker to get the other captains so you could actually probably just promote them and still get your monster kills.

TIPS:

-Remember to kill your followers after commanding the warchief to get points for all the kills plus Graug

-Mount Caragor's and Graugs whenever you see them during your playthrough. Killing them nets you 100 points per kill. Easy points with Caragors. They are everywhere.

- As mentioned above Killing a warchief nets you good points so you will want to advance days to get captains promoted. Plus those warchiefs make bodyguards out of the remaining Captains, which allows you to kill more in less time. So try to let a bodyguard escape once and a while.

-Avoid travelling. You have the ability to fast travel. Abuse it!

-Always fast travel to the next Riot area EVEN if it is at the same location. This is the only way to get the Graug bait to respawn.

Always check the surrounding area for a Captain after your riot. You might luck out and find one nearby. I had on occasion some interrupt my riots as well.

I actually finished at 30 mins but still needed points so I spent 9 mins killing graugs and Caragor near my warchief so I could kill him once time got close.

Here you will find some tips and a video that will make it easier, at least I hope, to unlock the achievement.

So, let's start looking for Intel on a Warchief.
I recommend Tumhorn, the requirements to make him appear are simple and also you won't have to waste time fighting him because he can stealth branded.

Grab also some Uruks and use them to send death threats to some Captains.

Once you find Tumhorn start his mission, free the Caragors and once the Warchief appears, wait for him to pass near you to Stealth Brand him with cn_RT + cn_B.
At the end of the mission grab him and start a riot against another Warchief (choose someone with some bodyguards).

If the next is Zugor, hit with ranged attacks and try to take him out as soon as possible, otherwise he could kill Tumhorn or even you.

For all other Warchiefs use a Graug if possible, the video shows where to find bait to lure these beasts.

For each riot choose the Warchief with the most Captains as his bodyguards and when you face them make sure that one of the Captains remains alive and becomes a new Warchief.
This way the new Warchief will get at least 2 new bodyguards.

In short:
1- toss a riot at a Warchief who has bodyguards,
2- hit the Graug Bait,
3- ride the Graug (cn_LT + cn_A) and use it to kill all except one of the captains,
4- kill the rival Warchief.
5- Let the surviving captain escape,
6- kill the Graug cn_RT + cn_B (extra points earned)
7- grab Tumhorn and launch a new riot.
8- Before you teleport to new location, grab Uruks to send death threats to some captains (Optional, not all need to be marked).
9- Repeat point 1 to 8 until all Captains and Warchief are killed.

Note:
1- If there is no bait for Graug just defeat the rival Warchief and ignore the Captains/bodyguards.
2- if the next riot is near or in the same spot as before, you should use Fast travel, in order to make Graug baits respawn.

Thanks for the guide!
I was able to unlock this achievement on my 7th (or was it the 8th?) try following your advice.
I also recommend to use the best runes for your bow, because you will be using it a lot to get additional points. The runes that decrease the Focus depletion and the bow damage are the most essential. E.g. this way I was able to kill Zugor with my bow before he could do any damage to Tumhorn.

Hey guys I had some free time and I figured posting a run of mine is better late than never. I hope it helps you guys get this achievement.

This solution is very similar to Roose91's.

First thing to note here is that the clock slows down or completely stops during certain situations. It slows down while aiming the bow with Wraith Focus activated, when getting a speed boost from jumping over something or while riding a Caragor, and during certain QTEs. It also stops completely while you have your map/menu open.

This is super helpful for planning your strategy and taking your time with understanding the captains and their strengths/weaknesses. It's also helpful for figuring out where the nearest Graug bait is if you need it. For reference, here's a Steam community post with Graug bait locations:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=51799...

As with Roose91's solution, spend the first 6-8 minutes (fastest I ever did it was 6:30) dominating and interrogating the random Uruks on the ground near the starting tower. If you see Worms or Intel, grab them and get intel on the warchiefs. You really only need intel on Shagflak and Zugor, but getting intel on all doesn't hurt.

Once you have intel on all captains and the above 2 warchiefs, head to Shagflak's mission and draw him out. I say start with this guy because he's an invincible asshole who is immune to everything but getting eaten by a Graug. Trying to kill him in fair combat is possible, but it takes so @$%@#$! long you'll fail the achievement. So complete his mission and draw him, hopefully while avoiding any captains in the stronghold. Once he's out in the open, find the nearest Graug bait, shoot it, shadow mount the Graug, and then eat Shagflak's stupid, annoying face. Do NOT kill the Graug when you're done.

From there, pick a direction on your map: clockwise or counter-clockwise. Find the nearest captain to your current zone (starting with any captains in Shagflak's stronghold) and tag them in the map. This seems to draw them out rather than waiting for random appearances. Run with the Graug to that location and eat the next captain. DO NOT attempt to enter the stronghold in the Northeast corner of the map: it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a Graug into the back part of Tol Crossing, or into any part of Maw of Hope or Executioner's Watch. If there are any captains in this area, leave them for later.

Open your map and mark the next nearest target, rinse, lather, repeat until the only captains that remain are the ones in power struggles. This should take 8-12 minutes, giving you 12~14 monster kills against captains, and leaving you at about the 15~20 minute mark.

Hopefully, you've killed all of Zugor's bodyguards at this point. If not, NBD. His crossbow might be devastating but he has a pansy-ass weakness: he's vulnerable to ranged attacks (while the captains are randomized, the starting 5 warchiefs always have the same strengths and weaknesses). Do his mission and get into a safe position as soon as he appears. THE MOMENT he is in sight, activate Flame of Azkar and repeatedly Shadow Strike Zugor until his health is low. Be careful not to finish him off as you can chop his head off once his health is low enough. When his health reaches about 20%, start shooting him in the head with normal bow attacks (do NOT use Fire Arrows as this will kill him). He'll surrender and you can dominate him, making the rest of this achievement super easy.

Command Zugor to riot against the other 3 warchiefs. Go to the location and attack. Ashgarn is weak to stealth, so you can insta-kill him with a Strike from Above if you're lucky enough to be in position. Otherwise, Shadow of Acharn will give you the opportunity to Stealth Kill him instantly. Tumhorn and Ugakuga are both susceptible to combat finishers so you can use Storm of Urfael if you have to. Tumhorn and Ugakuga usually have 2 bodyguards each, so if you didn't kill their bodyguards with the Graug, make sure to finish them off BEFORE you kill the warchief, otherwise you'll have some difficulty later.

Dominating Zugor and killing the 3 non-Zugor warchiefs should take ~5 minutes, leaving you at around 20~25 minutes. Start sending Zugor on missions to riot against the captain that are in random power struggles. Save duels, since you can usually a two-fer out of these. Rioting against them will add a new power struggle in another location, usually one that's more convenient. Go there, kill them, then command Zugor to go to the next. Rioting against a captain in an ambush will move the other captain to the main map. Save the last Zugor riot for the very end.

At this point, you should have your abilities well charged up. Fast travel to the northeast stronghold, shadow mount a Caragath and race into the stronghold. Quickly identify the captains and fight them. A few bow shots should tell you if they're immune to ranged. If not, use Flame of Azkhar. If they don't Combat Master counter your combat finishers, use Storm of Urfael and repeatedly execute them to death. If they're immune to both, try Shadow of Acharn to get a quick stealth kill. If none work, try blowing up nearby stuff and pray you can set them on fire and/or kill them quickly with regularly combat. This can take 5-10 minutes, depending on how many of the bastards are hiding in this stronghold and how many Uruks you have to vault over to get to them. You should generally be at about the 30 minute mark when done here.

When you're down to just power struggles with duels and ambushes, do the duels first. Fast travel to the most conveniently located struggle and summon a graug if bait isn't 80 miles away, then eat whoever is left in the duel. If you've used Zugor to force ambushing captains to the main map, then you can run around and find those captains and eat them.

This should take 5 minutes, leaving you at ~35 minutes with 5 minutes to go and only one more Zugor power struggle. Go there, kill the target and press cn_down to pop Zugor's head AND the achievement at the same time.

Accessed via Main Menu's Trials of War, the Test of the Wild will ask players to eliminate all five Warchief and twenty Captains in Nurn in a single playthrough. In order to unlock this achievement, players will need to complete all three bonus objectives as seen below:

  • Earn a total of 13,000 points
  • Kill 10 captains with monsters (Wretched Graugs or Caragaths)
  • Complete the trial within 40 minutes

With this in mind, make sure to follow the strategy detailed below to a tee, as made available by Roose91. There is very little room for error when attempting this achievement and it may even take multiple attempts before finally obtaining the achievement.

To start, activate the Test of the Wild via the Main Menu's Trials of War. As soon as it begins, peer off the ledge of the Forge Tower that you spawn in and immediately activate Focus Mode by holding the left trigger. In the distance, straight ahead, you will notice a small bridge with Graug bait hanging underneath. On the right side of this bridge, there will be two stationed Uruk near a campfire. As soon as you spot them, perform a Shadow Strike on one of the Uruk to stun him. Now immediately grab the second Uruk and tap to interrogate him. When Sauron's Army screen opens, click again on any of the Captains in order to reveal their identity. Now back out of Sauran's Army screen and click to kill the Uruk. Grab the second Uruk - who should be on his feet now - and repeat the interrogating scheme to find out the identity of a different Captain. After killing the second Uruk, immediately open the world map and fast travel back to the Forge Tower you started from.

You will be repeating this method mentioned above over and over again until you have the identities of all 20 Captains revealed. Take note that sometimes one Uruk will spawn by the campfire instead of two. If this happens, just proceed as normal. Also, sometimes one of the Uruk will be a Worm, or there might be even be a Worm very close on the cliffside to the right of the campfire. If you're close to a Worm, interrogate him as normal but this time, choose to reveal the identity of one of the Warchiefs. The Warchief you want to uncover is Ugakuga Graug Rider. Since the game is randomly generated each time, you may not get him on your first try. If you reveal another Warchief first, just carry on with the "Captain Reveal" method. If you do uncover Ugakuga, then this is really good. Overall, you want to try to have all 20 Captains revealed by the 7:30 mark.

As soon as you reveal the identity of the 20th Captain, fast travel back to the Forge Tower. This time, shoot the Graug Bait and wait about ten seconds for the Wretched Graug to appear. When it does, perform a shadow mount from the Forge Tower and pause your game to open the Sauron's Army screen. The timer will pause here so don't worry about staying in this menu for a long time. Begin checking the location of each Captain. About four or five will be in Power Struggle missions, so disregard those. Continue to scroll through the Captains and make mental notes of how many are in the same general area. There will usually be three to four per stronghold: Northwest Fishery Strong, Northeast Fort Stronghold, and South Shantytown Stronghold. The remainder of the other Captains will always be randomly scattered across Nurn.

After taking their locations into account, return to the game and begin riding your Graug to the first location of your choosing. Make sure to enter Wraith Mode when you enter the general area of a Captain to spot him with ease; he'll appear as a red outline compared to the regular Uruk. Once you find a Captain, approach him with your Graug and get ready to perform a Bite Attack () to instantly kill him. This will count as a monster kill for one of the bonus objectives.

You're going to need to set out across the region and continue doing this nine more times. If you're in a stronghold, make sure to eliminate all the Captains there before leaving so you don't waste time just having to come back once you leave. Generally, the South Shantytown Stronghold has plenty of open space for the Graug to move around, but the Fishery and the Fort are really tight. You're going to need to make good judgment calls on which Captains you want to kill via Graug. Overall, you want to try to have 10 Captains killed via Graug by around the 20:00 or 22:00 mark. When you kill your 10th Captain, perform a "mount kill" on your Graug for some extra points.

After that objective is complete, hopefully Ugakuga Graug Rider has been revealed. If not, you may want to restart the trial as he's vital by this point. Head on over to Ugakuga's marked mission on the map and start it. You'll be tasked with eliminating 5 of his supporters without raising an alarm. Once you complete this task and he shows up, kill any of his bodyguards before dealing with him. When fighting Ugakuga, drop his health to about a third and then stop performing combo executions. Rather, just perform regular hits until he surrenders. Here, dominate his mind using and then tap to issue a command in Rioting against another Warchief. As soon as you do this, open the world map, mark the newly created Riot - represented by a blue Power Struggle icon - and head on over there. If it's really far away, utilize the fast travel through the world map. Once you reach the Riot, begin the mission and defeat the opponent and his bodyguards, ensuring Ugakuga makes it out alive. Utilizing Riots is important here because it skips out on the "luring out" missions necessary for every Warchief.

With that said, Ugakuga is a great ally during this time because as a Berserker Uruk, he'll often time perform deadly charge/beatdown attacks on his foes that nearly drain all their health. Anyways, during each Riot, remember to kill bodyguards first while combat branding (+) the lesser Uruk. Always deal with the Warchief last. After the first Riot is settled, Ugakuga will remain in the area so grab him and command him to start a Riot with another Warchief. You're basically going to repeat this process until all the Warchiefs are dead.

One of the Warchiefs, Zugor, should always be tackled with the Flame of Azkar ability. As for Shagflak, this Warchief is immune to almost everything, so try to hang back while Ugakuga and his army take him on. The other two Warchiefs are extremely easy to defeat so there's not much worth discussing about them. After all the Warchiefs have died, there should be maybe 4 or 5 Captains left. Sometimes, one of these Captains is automatically promoted to Warchief and the remaining Captains become his bodyguards. If this happens, this is absolutely great for your playthrough so continue utilizing the Riot method to kill the remaining opponents.

At this point, you should have around 37:00 or 38:00 minutes on the clock. If so, you're doing great. Make sure to keep Ugakuga alive though after every other Warchief and Captain is dead. Don't dispatch Ugakuga yet or you'll mess up this achievement. You probably need a few thousand points at this time as well to finish the second bonus objective. Generally, you want to have around 10,500 or 11,000 points at this time. If you don't, consider restarting the trial. If you're on track with points, quickly begin roaming around Nurn. Shadow mounting Caragaths and then performing a "mount kill" on them nets a decent amount of quick points (150) and you can even tackle large groups of Uruk inside strongholds (that is, if you're already near one from your last riot) for a few extra hundred combat points.

Basically, you're going to be racing the clock here, trying to amass at least 11,800 points. Once you reach that number, go ahead and quickly press down on the d-pad to dispatch Ugakuga and his army of branded Uruk. This will net around 200-400 points. Additionally, you're going to receive an extra 1,000 points as a bonus for completing the first two bonus objectives under 40:00 minutes.

For a slightly modified strategy, don't hesitate in utilizing the video provided below by Roose91.

If you're successful in completing this trial with all the bonus objectives checked off by the end, then congratulations, you've finally earned the expansion's most difficult achievement! Once again, this detailed strategy was made available by Roose91, so another big thanks, Roose.

This is the trophy that will take the most of your time and is the most difficult trophy by far. In fact, it is more difficult than any trophy in the base game. Here are the required objectives for this trophy:
  • Kill 5 Beastmaster War-chiefs and 20 Captains (in other words, kill all leaders and do it without dying)
    • Kill 10 Captains with Monsters
    • Attain 13,000 points
    • Complete in 40 minutes
At first glance, this trophy seems impossible earning a 9/10 or 10/10 on the difficulty scale. The forums on multiple sites were abuzz with how to do this seemingly impossible task. Then someone, and honestly I do not know who or I'd give credit, came up with the brilliant idea of using the game mechanic of a Riot to cut down on the time. Using this as the root idea, I was able to achieve this trophy.

There are many different strategies everywhere for how people have achieved this trophy. Initially I was strongly considering posting video, but for one simple reason I am not going to do that: the locations of all captains and their weaknesses is random! So even if you have someone's video, you cannot mimic what they are doing because your captains will not be in the same locations with the same weaknesses. Outside of that, all of the actions in the video are going to be normal game mechanics that you already know how to do.

I will post in detail in the spoiler below exactly how I achieved this trophy. Even with these suggestions, the trophy does not leave a lot of room for error. It took me around 5 hours to complete.

The primary objective is what controls the "ending" of the mission, so once you have 5 War-chiefs and 20 Captains registered your "test" will end. At the conclusion screen, if you have achieved all 3 of the bonus objectives then your score will post to the Elite leaderboard (if you have an internet connection) and the trophy will pop.
To start Test of the Wild you must go back to the Main Menu of the game, then select Play followed by Trials of War and then Test of the Wild. This will start a new test that will be saved in your current save slot.

This brings up another crucial element that I strongly suggest you use for your playthrough: control your ability to save your current state in Test of the Wild. Unless you really want a super serious challenge, save at key points to change the difficulty of this trophy from a 9/10 to a 5/10.

As you should know by now, there is no easy in-game way to make individual saves as it uses an auto-save function. The good news is that the game always auto-saves whenever you fight a Captain or a War-chief (win or lose), and it saves immediately at the conclusion of the fight. So if your time management is going good, this is the time to exit the game and save to USB/cloud.

To save your game state, exit out of your game and save your Mordor game files to either a USB stick or your on-line cloud storage. To reload your save, copy from USB/cloud to System Storage, start the game back up, and then select Continue while in the Trials of War menu.

It is entirely possible to achieve this trophy with one playthrough using "saves" and the Riot game mechanic. In my case, I did do it in one playthrough but I reloaded from saves many times. Here is what I did:
  • As the test begins, immediately look for the Power Struggle in your game map that is closest.
  • Make sure that you Brand the Captain in this first fight so that you can use him for Intel on a War-chief.
  • Reminder: To Brand hold to grab the Captain, then press to Dominate, then press again to Gain Intel.
  • Select one of the unknown War-chiefs to find Intel on. If it is not Ûgakûga Graug Rider or Zûgor Beast Butcher I suggest restarting the Test as I found these two to be the best to use for the Riots.
  • Immediately go after this War-chief. It is crucial that you successfully Brand this War-chief. However, instead of using for Gain Intel press instead to Command him to start a Riot against one of the other War-chiefs.
  • Note: I very strongly recommend using a Graug to take out all bodyguards of a War-chief BEFORE branding or killing the War-chief. It saves massive time and you need the easy Monster kills. A Graug eating a War-chief does NOT count as a Monster kill of a "Captain".
  • Kill the other 4 War-chiefs. At the Riot conclusion, always run up and re-brand your Branded War-chief so that you can Command him to perform the next Riot. Immediately after that, press to get easy points from whatever branded Uruks are remaining.
  • You should have your branded War-chief (still alive) and the other 4 War-chiefs dead by around the 15-18 minute mark. In my playthrough I reached this at 18 minutes with 8 Captains killed and 7 Monster kills.
  • After killing the last War-chief, have your branded War-chief begin starting Riots against Captains.
  • At this point I did all of the available power struggles, especially the ones that have 2 Captains in them. You really want to keep the Captain kills to 90 seconds or less.
  • Continue using Riots if there are no Power Struggles left.
  • To be safe you will need to have 11,000 points before your last Captain. You will get 1,000 points for completing the bonus objectives and 1,000 points for completing the test.
  • When you get down to killing the last Captain, make sure that it is a Riot so that you can immediately kill your branded War-chief to complete the test. You do not want to waste time summoning him.

Comments:
  • The clock is paused while in any of the menus so use this to your advantage.
  • You will not have Wraith speed (it is locked) so use Shadow Strike as much as possible to close long distances as fast as possible.
  • Heavily use saves. Always performs save immediately after you kill a captain and there are no more close by. Do not run to safety or finish killing the other enemies; just exit the game and go make a save. This alone saved me about 20 seconds per Captain. Seems obvious, but it wasn't to me at first.
  • Another thing about being able to save, take advantage of the ability to run around and figure out where all of the "random" Captains were placed and their vulnerabilities. You can reload your save and still know exactly where they are at, thereby saving a large amount of time finding them.
  • Always go for the Power Struggles that are closest to a Fast Travel tower.
  • You can use and abuse the game mechanics in that if you "save" immediately after defeating a captain or War-chief before bringing up the game map, on "save" reloads you can change the random location that a new Power Struggle begins. For example: you defeat a captain, then make a "save". After you have reloaded the game, open your map. If there is a new Power Struggle available it will now randomly find a location on the map. The type of struggle will not change, but its location will. This only works while the struggle is "New" and you have not saved its randomly determined location. This is handy if you are trying to get a Power Struggle next to an easy Graug bait for a Monster kill.
  • I strongly recommend using Graugs for the Monster kills as it is way easier and they last way longer when surrounded by Uruks.
  • Try to get the Monster kills out of the way as fast as possible; look everywhere for Graug baits.
  • Zûgor is a pain to kill quickly. I strongly suggest using Flame of Azhâr (activate with + when you have done enough bow kills and your bar is full). This gives you unlimited Elf-shot and Fire Arrows for 15 seconds.
  • If you need more points, I strongly suggest Shadow Mounting Caragaths or Graugs, then dismounting and killing them with +. They give 100 base points, plus whatever small bonus they might give. Use Fast Travel to reset the enemies.
  • I found running to Captain locations to just plain take too much time, but if you happen to find a cluster of Captains that you can quickly run to then by all means do that instead of using a Power Struggle or Riot.

The following notes are my saves for a time frame of reference. This will just give you an idea of what to shoot for. It is very possible to beat my times as some fights did take longer than they should have.
  • Legend: m=minutes | WC=War-chief | C=Captain | M=Monster kill
  • 7m - Ûgakûga branded + 2 C + 0 M (1 bodyguards)
  • 10m - 1 WC + 2 C + 0 M (0 bodyguards)
  • 14m - 2 WC + 5 C + 3 M (3 bodyguards)
  • 17m - 3 WC + 8 C + 6 M (3 bodyguards)
  • 18m - 4 WC + 8 C + 6 M (0 bodyguards)
  • 20m - 4 WC + 9 C + 7 M
  • 23m - 4 WC + 10 C + 8 M
  • 25m - 4 WC + 11 C + 9 M
  • 28m - 4 WC + 12 C + 9 M
  • 29m - 4 WC + 13 C + 9 M
  • 31m - 4 WC + 14 C + 9 M
  • 35m - 4 WC + 17 C + 10 M
  • 36m - 4 WC + 18 C + 10 M
  • 38m - 4 WC + 19 C + 10 M
  • 39m39s - 5 WC + 20 C + 10 M (Trophy)
  • Note: I did not have to farm any points and ended up with a little over 14,000.

The most difficult achievement of the entire game, you must complete the hunting combat test by fulfilling all the conditions (selected from the game menu)

Conditions for receiving:

- Kill 5 leaders and 20 captains

- Kill 10 captains using animals

- Score 13,000 points

- Complete the task in less than 40 minutes (+ 1000 points)

The main problem is 40 minutes, this is very little, so you will have to act as quickly as possible. Procedure to get the achievement:

- Our first task will be to find out the location of all 20 captains, for this we interrogate the orcs, you can even interrogate ordinary orcs, because we only need the location of the captains. This stage should take you about 5-6 minutes

- Find the vile kraug by shooting at the kraug bait (I used the bait near the right northern castle)

- The next stage is killing captains with the help of a kraug. To do this, we are developing a route plan depending on the location of the freely walking captains. In order for the captain to appear 100% on the territory, he must be selected in the menu of Sauron’s army.

- After killing all the freely walking captains, we begin to kill those who are on a mission. By the end of this stage you should have about 16-18 captains killed and about 20 minutes of time remaining.

- We find a leader and brand him, I advise you to brand a leader who can be beaten in open battle (who has no protection from melee attacks), it will be much faster

- We send our leader to rebel against another leader and help him kill his opponent. Some leaders will come as captains alive, so we kill them too.

- After killing all the leaders and captains, we deal with our branded leader with one button

A few tries and you will be able to figure out all the fastest routes and get this trophy.

There is nothing particularly complicated, you can watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDzKKAJruxE this video, it took me 13 minutes to understand the meaning, then a little improvisation and at the end I still ran for about 6 minutes just beating orcs, well, of course, as they wrote on top - cloud + flash drive makes life easier.

It is advisable not just to interrogate ordinary orcs, but rather to send a death threat to the captain. If there is a threat of death, the captain's level increases by 5, and accordingly more points will be given for killing him. For example, for killing a level 20 captain they will give 1000 points + points for the type of captain (regular, with a shield, berserker). I also ran around the map looking for free captains and killing them with a graug. After that, he lured the crossbowman leader, branded him and sent him to the leader of the ghoul master, since these are the two most “sweaty” leaders))) After killing the ghoul master, send him either to the smuggler or to the rider on the graug, they are the lightest (during the battle he specially killed your leader to get more points). The beast tamer was lured out and killed by a graug. Using this method, I scored 25k points, which shocked me, but I spent more than 10 attempts and cursed everyone and everything who came up with this test.

You can make your work easier. At the beginning of this test, we interrogate twenty orcs about the whereabouts of the captains and be sure to threaten them with death in order to get more points when killing the captains, and five informants to find out the whereabouts of the leaders.
Next, we capture the kraug and devour at least 10 captains, and after that we brand the leader with a crossbow, having first killed all his guards. And we kill the remaining leaders and captains with the help of a riot (we capture our leader, press X and then give an order, and click on any captain or leader to organize a riot), and after that we kill your branded leader. Everything takes about 35 minutes

I would also like to note that be sure to speed things up once ( ) so that the leaders have more bodyguards. Otherwise, there will be a maximum of 2, and then not for everyone (and only if you’re lucky) and it will be difficult to manage in the allotted time.

Comrade Lansecuter's technique works.
The branded leader rebels everyone in a row with periodic scrolling of time (well, and a cloud save). I made a separate save on a flash drive when there were 21 minutes left and 6 living captains (not counting my leader). I finished off everyone and was about 700 points short.
Rolled back. He caught the Uruks and threatened all those remaining with death. Time scrolling again, the living “huddled together” (two new leaders were recruiting bodyguards), so there was still enough time to run around and score points on baits.

During the scrolling of events, if a captain kills another captain, you are credited with similar kills (though without kill points). Can help save time.

I advise the archer leader, who is 4th on the left, I don’t remember the name, to kill all the bodyguards before arranging a riot for him with your leader, because... 90% of the time, with his bodyguards, he will very quickly kill your branded leader, but we don’t need that. It can be shot with a bow from a distance very quickly. It is better not to get close to him.

Finally completed this achievement! It was just a rush of adrenaline. I managed to complete it in 39:51.
1) First, he began to interrogate all the Uruks indiscriminately about the captains and, along the way, meeting worms, he learned about the leaders. Result: information about 20 captains and 3 leaders. The time taken was approximately 7:30. (Made a save and threw it into the cloud)

2) He immediately saddled Graug and rushed off to devour the captains. I devoured 12 captains (the time was 19:50) and left. (That is, I made a save and threw it onto a flash drive)

3) I ran straight to the leader whose crossbow shoots explosive bolts. I suffered with him a little and branded him, simultaneously killing the captain next to him. The time was approximately 25 minutes. He sent him to revolt, thereby killing another leader and a couple of captains. (He went out and threw a save at the head).

4) This is my final, the time was 31:34 (I still remember), I began to send my leader to riots, thereby killing the leaders and the remaining captains next to them.
Then I had 1 captain left and the time was 39:01. He forced his leader to challenge the captain again. I ran and thought that I wouldn’t make it in time, time was ticking. But I got to the riot mission at 39:22 and my leader took out the captain in a couple of shots, and I immediately killed him with the down button.

Bottom line: the task is very sweaty, I spent about 3 days to make my tactics and route for the kills.

In addition to the main tip:

After you have found out the location of all the captains, do not take the graug right away, first go to the castle, which is located on the top right (on the map) and kill all the captains who are behind the wall, beyond which the graug cannot pass, and only then take it and start killing free captains.

Important point:

In order not to waste a lot of time on the leader (going through a special mission to lure him out), simply brand his bodyguard and order him to betray him.

AND IN NO EVENT DO YOU BRAND A LEADER WITH A CROSSBOW FOR KILLING OTHER LEADERS:

If you brand him, he will kill the enemy very quickly and will not count you points for killing him, in the end you will have time to complete the challenge in 40 minutes, but you will not have enough points to complete the trophy.

I tried all the above strategies. A couple of minutes were not enough.
The strategy is painfully simple:
1) We collect information on the leader and brand him
2) Set him against another leader
3) During the uprising, we call the giant by shooting at the bait
4) We eat the captains and win the uprising
5) "Scroll " time on the tower (instead of the killed leader a new one will appear, but the captains will also gather with him).
6) Return to step 2.
Video guide (en).

All. No data collection on captains. No completing tasks to lure out leaders.
I did it on the first try in 35 minutes + more points left.
It is necessary to scroll through time so that the giants' baits are restored at the sites of the uprisings (blue missions of the battle of leaders). And also so that later you don’t have to gallop through the fields and look for captains on a free range.

Be sure to make backup saves to a USB drive (or to the cloud, if you want, it’s so inconvenient).
It is advisable to make a backup:
1. After we have collected all the information about the captains.
2. After killing 16-18 captains (that is, before the battle with the leader)
3.Before each battle with the leader.
Also, it is advisable to copy each backup to a computer (which is why we need a flash drive, not a cloud), after each of the above stages, so that at any time you can download not the previous one, but any point where you may have spent more time than necessary .
Oh yes, you also don’t need to run headlong and not touch the rest of the orcs, otherwise you won’t have enough points, as I had in my first attempts. To get more points:
1. Destroy the fires around which the orcs stand.
2. After each revolt, when you kill the enemy leader with your leader, you will capture your leader and order him to stage another revolt. So, as ordered, your leader will disappear from the map, but the orcs subordinate to you will not (the army of our victorious leader). This is where we click , the orcs are dying, you get 200-300 free points.

I just want to add a couple of details that no one actually considers necessary to voice... although they are very important.

1) it’s impossible to check all 20 captains in 6 minutes!!!! (those who try don’t suffer, you can still get it) ALWAYS try to hit with a bow, it slows down time and the counter and gives you those extra minutes that can save

2) cap missions do not have to be completed, provided that he is a bodyguard

3) an important point: if you go through a safe backup, then save it after you kill all the free captains and leave the captains with quests or bodyguards (but there should be 10 kilos on the mount), you should have up to 26 minutes, if so, then this time will be enough for all.

4) leaders, try to catch the first one through the betrayal of the first one, then the next one is a ghulovod (if he pierced the ass of the world, then you can reset (the battle can take up to 2m, you need a lock where you can kill him with a graug), then we send him to the animal tamer, you need to kill him with stealth (if the location If it doesn’t allow it, then reset) then see who is coming, either a smuggler or a graug (both are only miles and both are very weak) and for a snack we leave the archer with his team, kill him with a bow, then kill him with a bow and kill everyone of ours at once, they will give 1500+ points and 1k for points

NUANCES:
1) if one of the leaders has a bodyguard, then always clear the mobs with a bow (it freezes the entire time report!!!!) and then them, and after the leaders themselves

2) try to devour the captains BEFORE SPEAKING when on the grauge, this saves about 15s (time is ticking anyway)

I’ll give you some information: if you start with betrayal, how long does it take to clear all the leaders + - 2 bodyguards, then in the ideal case (when all the locks are perfect) it takes 7 minutes, so even if it doesn’t pierce, then in fact you have another 8 minutes for jambs. the main thing is to reach the leaders themselves with their bodyguards in 26 minutes (if you have a lot of quests left, then do them after clearing the graug, after which the time should be no more than 31 minutes

Today I was able to get this trophy, I tried many methods and I can tell you for sure that killing with the help of animals plays the main role! By the 14th minute I managed to kill 11 captains and 9 of them with the help of animals (I killed them with the help of a graug, from the very beginning I called it and ran around the map and looked for captains, they are always random, that’s exactly the difficulty, once with 10 managed to gobble up the required number of captains), then we brand the leader, but it is the archer leader who needs to be branded, since he takes out any leader in 1 minute! After that, finish off all the remaining captains! Also, BE SURE to use saves, you definitely won’t be able to complete without them.
