A Holeshot is awarded to the first rider through the first turn and is marked in this game by the "Monster Energy Holeshot" markers above the track in the first turn.
If you skip qualifying in this game you will be given the outside / furthest gate and it can be quite tricky to get across the pack of riders.
The easiest way to get a flyer from the start is to reverse a little (using
) then hold in the clutch (
) and hold the throttle (
) at full gas. Now try and time your releasing of the clutch () a fraction before the gate actually drops. If timed properly you'll easily lead all the way to the first turn.
Due to the differing types of first turns some tracks are easier than others to win the holeshot on. So if you're having a hard time try the next track.

You score a hole shot by being the first rider around the first corner. As you go around the corner, you’ll see a thick white line on the ground - this is the point you have to reach first.
Unfortunately, it can be a little glitchy as to whether it registers or not. A couple of time I’ve been the first around the corner and over the line, and it’s just not registered. You’ll just have to keep trying.
You will want to get a great start and move over to the left side of the track before the turn. If you have done qualifying stages, pick a start position near the left. If not, you will need to make good use of the rewind facility as you try to cut across from the right.
When the camera cuts to behind you, start counting down In your head (or out loud) from 5. Reverse as far as you can using
, then hold

. As you get to zero, let go of and hopefully you’ll start forward just before the gates go down, giving you a momentum advantage. Move over towards the left and make sure to block anyone near you as you go through the turn. It doesn’t matter if you crash immediately after going over the line, you just have to be first.
