Again, this will take some trial and error if you're not using a guide, but upon finding a nice price for an item, you'll get a nice smile from the customer and they'll bring it up to the counter. Check the Road Map for the face you're looking for.
To know if you have the perfect price set, the customer will show the smiley face when they pick up the merchandise. You'll obtain this naturally throughout the game as this will be the price range you'll want to get your items at. Just keep either lowering, or raising the price until you hit it. From then on, whenever you put an item up for sale, it will automatically list it as that price.
