How to unlock the Member Of The Elite achievement in NASCAR Heat Evolution - Definitive Guide

This is the toughest achievement in the game and requires you to have a Speed Rating of 105 on every track in the game. Speed Ratings are earned by lap times on each track, the faster the lap time, the higher the Speed Rating. 105 is the highest and will reward you with an "Elite" rank.

These laps MUST be done in "Race" mode for them to count towards this achievement.

Before you start make sure that you have Physics set to "Simulation" in the advanced settings menu. This will make your car faster (no auto-brake) and allow you to tweak your car setup. (Change the physics to "Normal" for Sonoma & Watkins Glen)

Set the Race Mode to "Race Only" in the Session Settings menu then in the Race Settings menu select the AI Difficulty to Custom Level 105 (hardest) and Race Length to 2%. Once in the race you will start at the back of the pack. Let the fast AI pull away leaving you a nice clear track for your laps.

There is a lot of talk amongst players that setting your Right Rear Spring to 600 lbs/in and 4th gear to 0.95 in the car setup is a "beat-any-track miracle", it isn't . . . . but it is very helpful on SOME tracks.

I personally left the gear ratios at their default and often the Right Rear Spring too but if you are struggling try stiffening the Right Rear Spring (credit to the TA racing community for this great tip) which will allow you to corner faster in the turns and maintain your speed. But don't set it to 600 (max) straight away as it can make your car very unstable on certain tracks.

Some tracks will require you to draft the AI cars in order to obtain the lap time required for Elite. I have marked the tracks on which I used drafting. If you do need to draft it is a case of trial-and-error how far you let the AI get away and when you catch them up.

Don't be afraid to use the walls on some of the smaller / tighter ovals. It's cheap but riding the walls makes some tricky tracks very easy. Again, riding the walls and maintaining your speed is a case of trial-and-error.

There are a total of 23 tracks, the list below shows my times on each one as a guide. These times are not the minimum times required for the Elite Speed Rating just the times I obtained when I hit 105. This will give you an idea of the times to shoot for.

Please Note: It has been noted that the times required for some tracks have been altered (made harder) since I set these times. I can only assume this has been tweaked via the several updates the game has received since I unlocked this achievement. As I no longer have the game I am unable to check the current required times so please comment below (with your time) if you find a time that needs updating and I will amend the list.

Where is the car setup menu. I set the Physics to "Simulation" mode but can't find where to set right rear spring. I know i'm missing it somewhere. Help for a blind man please....

Lol. . . . so Chad, once the track has loaded you'll be in the pit lane with the default setup. Pressing the cn_LB or cn_RB will give you an option for a custom setup. Select one of the custom options and at the bottom of the screen you'll see the cn_X icon appear with "Garage" next to it. Hit the cn_X button and tinker away !!!

Hey Bobcat, how do I even begin to tackle this achievement? I started with Road Courses on 'normal' and can't even post a time above 1:15:00 on Sonoma. I then tried to switch it to Simulation and I can't even keep the car on the track. I don't understand anything going on under the setup menu, and changing the right rear spring just makes me spin out all the damn time. Maybe I need to change my sensitivities? They are all default. Is there any way you can give an outline of how much you changed your setup for each track?

After 40 consecutive laps at Sonoma with zero sucess, I feel like this isn't obtainable for me :( I haven't even tried to tackle hard tracks like Atlanta.

I can't help with setups at the moment as I am sat on my balcony in Mallorca soaking up the Spanish sunshine !!!

What I can tell you is that for Sonoma I used default settings with physics set to normal.

For the longer tracks have you tried lowering the difficulty so you can stay with the pack and draft?

A basic setup for atlanta: Left springs (both) lower by 5 clicks from default. Right springs (both) towards max. Wedge 49. Front weight 49.3. Steering lock 9. Alter the steering offset to suit (i had a marginal pull to the left)
Set difficulty to auto +2% (this is the hardest setting) and 3% race distance. Ease off from the start so you just keep in draft range (lap 1) and then its flat out racing.Note: if you drop out of drafting range then restart because you won't catch up.. You will catch the back markers but they are ultra fast so it's not a problem if you do catch them on the turns (stick to their back ends like glue to maintain around 182mph cornering). Lap times can vary by anything upto .3 seconds, so hitting that magical 29.15 sec requires an awful lot of luck. My stroke of luck was 29.001s.

Yeah, there should be a note this achievement is impossible with a controller. Even WITH messing with the sensitivity in the options menu. even on the ovals can't keep the car straight unless I barely turn and can't accelerate because anything more than half throttle makes the wheels spin.

I am not sure your Daytona time is correct Bobcat. Just put up a 46.14 and it was only enough for a 104 speed rating.

Hmmmm, I have no way of checking now as I no longer have the game. I was very careful when I wrote down my times, I wonder if they tweaked the threshold for the Elite Speed Ratings in an update? I do remember Daytona being pretty easy to get Elite just by drafting carefully through the pack, although I forget the difficulty of the AI that I used for that race.

When you hit 105 on Daytona leave a message here with your time and I'll update the list smile.

Yeah I am using a controller and it is extremely twitchy. Nearly wrecked in the corners at Daytona for crying out loud laugh! Road courses should be fun...

Thanks for the heads-up on the Talladega time UnawareBoss.

If (as it seems) they have changed the required times for the 105 Speed Rating on some tracks via updates then my guide times are more annoying than helpful so I think it might be best if I remove this guide if it is no longer relevant.

Or would it be best to leave the guide and update the times as people discover the new threshold for a 105 Speed Rating?

Let's see, I guess if I receive any more negative votes I'll have my answer.

Personally I hope you leave it up, although if people are going to start voting negative without understanding how an update may have moved the goalposts slightly, then I would not blame you if you wanted to take it down.

You took the time to make a note of your 105 lap times and I am sure some of them are still correct.

For me I still see it as a very useful point of reference for the minimum time that we require. Sometimes I wonder if negative votes derive more from the difficulty people are having with the achievement, then the guide itself.

Thanks ShadowsofSatan, I have added a note at the bottom of the guide regarding the changed lap times. If players are constructive and post the new times they find then I'll happily update the list.

I totally agree that some (thankfully very few) players sometimes vote negative out of sheer frustration and somehow blame the guide for not providing a "quick fix".

This is the only achievement I need to 100% the game... and I don't think I'll ever get it. Setting the car up with the crazy settings to get the faster speeds makes it un-driveable. Always spins out to the left, even on straightaways. Sigh.

Thanks for the tips though, thumbs up from me.

Well done. As I mentioned in the guide these times are not the minimum times required for the Elite Speed Rating just the times I obtained when I hit 105 to give an idea of the times to shoot for. I'll update the guide if my time on a track has been matched / beaten and still doesn't give a 105 rating indicating that the required time has been changed. But if you manage to hit 105 with a slower time than me I will assume that that track hasn't been altered. Good luck with the rest of the tracks !!!

Just wanted to post that I've all but given up on the Elite achievement with a controller. I've used both Gotp's setup from PST, KneePitGaming's Youtube channel, and my own knowledge about car setups and I just can't get 105 on anything that can't be cheesed. I've gotten 104 on about six tracks, and still can't do anything higher than 100-101 on long tracks like Auto Club, Daytona, and Michigan. Got a 102 at Atlanta with about 50 laps clocked and have been lazy with the road courses but I know they are easy. I think Texas is the only track I've managed to somehow hit 105 on without using a cheese, and that was lucky because I can't duplicate anything close to that time.

If anyone else comes up with some setups for each track and/or videos/tips/ANYTHING to help with this achievement, I'll gladly check in and give it a shot. Otherwise I'm gonna have to write this one off as incompletable :/

46.056....with extremely tired (and angry) hands by the end of it. I suspect it has to be under a 46.1 for elite and this was with the settings you suggested for difficulty and race length. Great guide btw, I suspect I shall be sick of the sight of it by the time I am done! headspin

Well done fella, I'll update the list.

Are you using a controller? I used a wheel and from what I gather using a controller makes this challenging achievement even harder. Congrats again for persevering smile.

I know there has been 3 patches / updates since I did these times, I suspect they tweaked the required lap times. If you find anymore let me know and I'll update.

I found this Youtube playlist from Knee Pit Gaming where he give you setups he uses for all of the tracks. Just follow the videos and follow the small tweaks he says you can do to get a comfortable feel for the car.

This was fantastic. Knee Pit helped me on majority of tracks. I used HD Motorsports video for Atlanta and KME Racing video for Auto Club. Otherwise it was all Knee Pit. I used a X1 controller.

While a lot of the tips Bobcat gave are great(use them) I found a few things to add on stuff I struggled on.I am using a controller as I see that/wheel asked alot

First off Switch to Manual gears even if you don't normally use them like me.I did this halfway threw this achievement and it made it much more easy.Alot of tracks with automatic the gears will go to 2/3rd in the turns and scrub your speed when you can just leave it in 4th in manual at most tracks and pick up time.

Tracks I needed draft 100%.Daytona,Michigan & Talladega.

Tracks you can wild ride to save your hair if you struggle at them.
Phoenix:Do Turn 1/2 like normal but 3/4 ride the wall and you will pick up time
New Hampshire:Do turn 1/2 like normal then ride 3/4 and you'll pick up time

Setups:I used all my set ups from the following channel I found on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZnouD2lgBsqTQvTxIBOAQg/vid...
His Atlanta setup reqired no draft and I ran 29.0 and got it first try.
These are the tracks i needed his set ups for Alanta/Auto Club/Daytona/Homestead/Las Vegas/Michigan/Richmound/Talladega
Otherwise I used the 600 RS/0.95 gear for all the other tracks if I didn't get it first try.

Note:these tips might not help everyone but any guide I can give tips that helped me that I didn't see posted i'll always throw up to try and help anyone with all the site has helped me over the years :)

What about the 2 road courses (Sonoma & Watkins Glen)? Any advice/tips?

With Manuel gears I picked up so much time besides that I pretty much just put the handling from real to normal Right Rear Spring to 600 lbs/in and 4th gear to 0.95.With traffic took 2-3 try's but I actually found it way more easy then most of the bigger tracks.
