How to unlock the Master of Illusions achievement in Neverwinter - Definitive Guide
Mechanics: The arena and area graphics may differ, but it's the actual game mechanics that you need to pay attention to. I will list all the mechanics I've seen and not all are necessarily negative:
1) Get turned into a chicken at random.
2) Your powers randomly turn off and on.
3) Low Gravity: you can jump really high.
4) Pockets of fire on the floor.
5) The entire arena becomes a skating rink.
6) Fire trap in the center that spews fire in 2 directions and rotates.
7) Enemies randomly have 100% deflect; appears generally in the 2nd or 3rd round.
8) Enemies become randomly stronger.
9) Enemy corpses explode upon death.
10) Rocks fall from the sky into the arena.
11) Spheres of decay pulsate around the room damaging all that enter their aura.
12) Explosive runes drop from the sky and will explode if you get close.
It lists the mechanics affecting your group on the side of the screen; they will range from 1 to 3 depending on the wave you're on. So just expect the unexpected.
"Walk of Shame": Dying is a bit different in this skirmish. When you are defeated and have to release, you'll be transported to a campfire. You'll notice in front of you there's a pathway with an obstacle course of sorts. There are pendulums swinging back and forth with a few random traps that you must avoid to get to the end so you can get back into the fight.
A few tips... it's sometimes easier to see the swing of the pendulum if you move your camera overhead; then just run past. Jumping past the swinging pendulums makes this easier as well. If you get knocked off into the water, you must run back to the beginning and start over.
Arena 1: Lukan teleports you to a new arena, mobs and mechanics are random but generally level 71. There should be at least 1 illusion mechanic active for this round and it will remain constant for the entire round.
Voting Round: Lukan is floating on a disk and asks if you want to proceed. You can vote to fight on, or to leave. Choose to continue, as should your party members, and you'll be sent to the next arena to compete for your Silver medal.
Arena 2: Lukan teleports you to a new arena, mobs and mechanics are random but generally level 72. There should be at least 2 illusion mechanics active for this round and they will change mid-round.
Voting Round: Lukan is floating on a disk and asks if you want to proceed. You can vote to fight on, or to leave. Choose to continue, as should your party members, and you'll be sent to the next arena to compete for your Gold medal.
Arena 3: Lukan teleports you to a new arena, mobs and mechanics are random but generally level 73. There should be at least 2 to 3 illusion mechanics active for this round and they will change mid-round.
Lukan the Illusionist: You will always face Lukan to finish off your gold run.
The only requirement for the 'Illusionists Gambit' is that you're level 70. You're thrust into a circular arena where Lukan the Illusionist, challenges you to compete in his trial. You will face 3 waves of ever increasingly difficult enemies with a few boss battles thrown in. The enemies are random as are the boss encounters. There are multiple combinations of enemies, bosses, swarms and traps. At the end of your gold run though, you will always face Lukan himself.

Lukan the Illusionist: He is the final boss battle for which you will earn gold; Lukan is nothing special so just burn him down.
