The best way to get this achievement is with one other friend. Both of you need to create a GM Connected league with 3min periods and single elimination playoffs. Simulate through the season all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Now you can join your friends league as one of the teams that made it to the Finals (have them do the same thing). All that is left now is each of you playing out a Stanley Cup Final game and you should both have the achievement.


In NHL 13, this achievement was very buggy and it appears to be again this year, so if you don't get it follow the guide below. Its still not a sure thing you will get it, but this seemed to be the most consistent way to get the achievement last year.

Start your own GM Connected League. For settings choose 4 min periods, Rookie difficulty, Game period length of 2 weeks, injuries off, Single Game Knockout playoff series length.

Now Choose your team to be Boston or Vancouver as they have the highest overall star rating and should win on their own easier and more consistently than other teams.

Now start simming the 2 week periods at a time and monitor the standings. Make sure you stay in the top 8 for your conference. If you happen to drop to 10th start playing games to get back into the playoff picture.

Once you make the playoffs manually play all 4 games since you can't redo in GM Connected games and win the stanley cup. You can change the sliders in game to favor you and this will not affect the trophy nor will difficulty settings. After winning the cup the trophy will pop once you exit the game. Note you have to actually play the stanley cup clinching game. I simmed it my first time through and didn't get the trophy so make note you HAVE to play the clinching game.

This is now forever unobtainable due to the servers being shut off. RIP NHL 360 games.

The servers for this game will close June 6, 2022. I'm posting this as a boosting guide for anyone looking to get these achievements done before then.

GM Connected is a game mode found under the Online menu of the game. It will take approximately five hours to unlock this achievement and is best done with three accounts for reasons I'll explain later. The accounts will be Account 1 (a dummy hosting the league), Account 2 (a dummy), and Account 3 (your main account that needs the achievement).

Account 1 will create the league with these settings:
-NHL Schedule Period of 2 Weeks
-Allow Simming of Games to Yes
-Skill Level to Rookie
-Period Length to 3 Minutes
-Injuries to Off
-Playoff Series Length to Single Knockout
-CPU Trades to Off
-Waivers To Off

These are the settings that will make the game sim the fastest, but unfortunately is still VERY slow and will take the five hours of menu watching I mentioned earlier.

With the league created, have Account 1 choose a team. It doesn't matter which one. Now have Account 2 join the league and choose a team, again it doesn't matter which one. Account 1 will have to go into the league's mailbox to accept the join request. With that out of the way, have Account 1 begin simming through the season by selecting the Advance Scheduling Period from the league's main menu. This is by far the most boring and tedious part of the achievement, as each skip takes forever to get to the next menu.

At some point during the next five hours have Account 2 leave the league. The only reason we do this is earlier NHL games had a glitch where if at least two people weren't in the league when it was created the achievement wouldn't always unlock. I don't know if this has been patched by now or not, but it's NOT worth risking as you DO NOT want to do this sim grind ever again.

Eventually, mercifully, the playoffs will begin. They sim slightly faster since there's less teams, but will still take a few minutes per sim even with the games being single elimination. Now when you get to the Stanley Cup finals there will only be two teams left. This is where you have Account 2 rejoin the league and choose one of these teams, and more importantly have Account 3 (your main account that wants the achievement) join and select the other one.

Account 1 will have to approve both of these, and once that's done you can play the game. Have Account 3 score on Account 2 (if you have Account 2 press LB + Back they'll pull their goalie and you can easily score on them) and then just sit there until the game is done and you win. These will be some long unskippable celebration cut scenes and when you get to the main menu the achievement will finally pop.

A few things, this is obviously the optimal solution for doing this as it's a triple boxing method. If you're double boxing, you can just have your dummy create the league, have your main join in the beginning and then quit out during the season. When you have simmed to the Stanley Cup finals, have your main select the team you want to win and hope you can beat the AI for the achievement.

If you're boosting this with other people, have each one of you create a league and all sim to the Stanley Cup finals and then do a carousel of everyone winning in someone else's league. Again, three people would be optimal but if you only have two keep in mind you'll have to win a full game against the AI. On Rookie this is very doable, but I just don't like the risk of having to do the five hour sim again.
