How to unlock the Distinguished Service achievement in Overwatch 2 - Definitive Guide

This strategy was primarily adapted with ParticleDuality, BaronVoNewman, and Moat Carp. Thanks to those three specially. I also couldn't have done it without Deschain019, SUGA CC, John Connor M, Cower Before me and Michel. You guys are all awesome.

Here's our guide for this. I think it should help you guys all. It's pretty in-depth, so if you want short and sweet another guide might be better. I will say the guide copied from Reddit isn't particularly good.

With the patch, the escort section in the video above is, of course, no longer good. I've recorded it being done properly in the video below. The video below has no commentary unfortunately, but the text guide below has been updated to give you all the hints you need. Once you know how to approach it, it can be completed without much effort with a bit of luck with Bastion spawns.

And here's the alternate strategy for killing Bastions early. Having done both methods, I think it is bettere but you MUST kill all four Bastion turrets during the Orisa Assault section. If you only kill three, this is just inefficient and a waste of time.

General Character Advice
Tracer: Your goal is to use your ult on the elite enemies and then otherwise murder solitary enemies. Eradicators are primarily your responsibility. They have a weak spot on the back. Dashing can interrupt line of sight and the enemy's auto aim. You dash a lot, you die less. Tracer has very little health so this is key. The video above is Tracer's POV.

Reinhardt: You must balance between damage and shielding. Fire strike can be incredibly good if used on cooldown (when safe), especially when targeting groups. You can charge the Eradicators.

Torbjorn: Drop armor. Your ult will primarily be used to save the situation. Don't throw it out randomly, but don't be afraid to use it if things are going badly. Turret location matters. Always be thinking about where the best place to put it is and consider whether the place you've chosen allows it to shoot all the areas you want it to shoot. Your turret is your best teammate.

Mercy: Mercy has a pistol. You need to use it. Healing is also important of course, as is knowing when to damage boost. You damage boost when Reinhardt is hitting groups/Detonators or when you think you will shortly need to heal. Otherwise, your pistol does more damage. Focus on getting headshots.

If you need to charge your Rez to get some allies up in danger, have a remaining ally intentionally take damage then heal them. You can use your ult freely, even to Rez one person in a bad position. Your ult charges quickly and the loss of DPS from trying to mess with a Reinhardt shield to protect a manual Rez can not be worth it.

Walkthrough
Hack 1:
This one is easy. Torb and Reinhardt hole up in the room. Reinhard will shield the doorway and Torb's turret will shoot out. Mercy and Tracer should go on the stairs and Mercy can heal/damage boost Tracer.

Hack 2:
This one is a bit tougher. It's probably the part we died most too during normal play because things can spiral out of control. We found it harder than the Payload defense. You'll split into two groups.

Tracer: Tracer will stand by the Cathedral door. She can't be healed from here so you'll need to be careful. Keep an eye out and when enemies spawn, dash to them and unload a clip. If you're right in front of them, you'll get the kill. Then move to the next. It's a bit like whack-a-mole. At the very beginning a group of enemies will spawn near the hack point. Kill one of the Null Troopers that drops down first, then annihilate the weak point on the Eradicator to drop its shield immediately.

If you get hurt while out here, you'll want to Rewind immediately since Mercy won't be able to heal you. Torb should also be ready to throw you an armor pack (he can throw it from the hack point all the way to the cathedral door - he just needs to learn how). If things are going very badly, run back.

Once the point gets to 100% enemies will spawn behind you at the cathedral door, you'll dash back to the point and then go up the stairway with the team.

Reinhardt/Torb/Mercy: Torb will place his turret directly in front of the hack terminal (in the middle of the point, facing towards the cathedral). Reinhardt will be focused on shielding. Mercy will heal and do damage as needed. Torb will be doing the majority of the damage. At about 50-60% hacked, Torb should ult even if he's not sure he needs it. The enemies can easily overwhelm you out of nowhere and your ult makes sure enemies are under control.

Once the hack ends, you'll head left up the staircase. Reinhardt can put his shield up and Torb can drop a turret to kill enemies. The whole team can just shoot down the staircase as enemies come in one by one. This is important. Occasionally the cathedral enemies will also despawn.

Hack 3: This one is easy as long as everyone follows their roles. If an enemy ever gets by someone, call it out and have everyone focus it quickly.
Tracer: Stands next to the right staircase. If an Eradicator walks down the stairs, teleport behind him and shoot his weakpoint. As well, watch out for Null Troopers on the stairs. Otherwise, you'll be watching the right door and constantly firing shots through. You should not walk through the doorway - it's unnecessarily risky. Just shoot the enemies, even if it's just an Eradicator shield.

Mercy: Stands in the point. Use your pistol to kill any enemies who come through the left side door. Usually it's just Null Troopers though rarely an Eradicator will come through, which you'll definitely need help with. Keep an eye on health bars.

Torb: In the back you can jump on some boxes to get on top of the second floor. Do this and put your turret on the left side of the farthest column so that it can see the right door and the staircase. Upgrade it to level 2 and then help whoever needs it. Throw armor constantly. The right staircase will need your attention as Tracer can sometimes be preoccupied with the right doorway.

Reinhardt: Watches the left doorway and helps with the left side. You'll mostly just fire strike and shield, especially if there was an Eradicator. You can occasionally step a few feet into the doorway to swing the hammer, but don't break Mercy's line of sight. You can also charge the Eradicators to break their shields, but never outside of the cathedral. Call out if enemies get by you, which will happen on occasion.

Payload Defense
This is going to be tough until you get used to it. Practice makes perfect. It will eventually become easy, I promise. It's all about learning how to deal with the enemies. Here are the roles. A step-by-step strategy is below them.

Torb: Your turret will go up on the balcony at the beginning. Looking at the payload, it's the upper left balcony in the left corner, so that the turret can see everything. You can get there by going through the building and up the stairs. Once your turret is built, jump down. Nothing will shoot it except Eradicators. If it does end up dying, just rebuild it anywhere safe with a good line of sight on the area. You don't have time to go upstairs.

During the defense your job is to fill in where needed. Tracer isn't good at killing Slicers, so watch the right side for those. Otherwise just attack what's needed and help with Eradicators and Null Troopers.

Throw armor constantly. Throw armor. Throw armor.

Reinhardt: Focus on the left side. When Detonators spawn, swing your hammer at them. You can hit them multiple times per swing and do insane damage, especially when Mercy boosts you. You'll be mostly doing damage here as opposed to shielding, but be ready to shield if someone dies or when Bastion spawns.

Reinhardt can also take a different approach to dealing with Detonators. One strategy had him charging away an exploding Detonator, but that's unnecessary. Just stand on the payload and use your shield. You can block the entire explosion but you'll need to make sure the shield covers all the way to the ground. This will take some practice.

For Bastion spawns, approach them and then wait for them to go into their turret forms before charging. The charge can be finicky when he's moving. Also, try to charge from behind to hit Bastion towards the payload. If the Bastion makes it back into turret form after the charge, shield up and tank it while your allies kill him.

Mercy: Heal when needed. Pistol when you can. Damage boost when Reinhardt is attacking Detonators or when Tracer is shooting Bastion or an Eradicator. You will be the person to manually Rez when needed, but don't hesitate to Rez for even one person if they go down in a big fight. Use your judgment to determine if it's necessary. If you're unsure, do it. You'll learn from experience when you need to.

Tracer: You're mostly watching the right side. Run up to Null Troopers to kill them in one clip. Null Troopers are a constant stream and you will be the ideal person to kill them, but don't just run around everywhere. Stick to the right side mostly except when Detonators or Bastion spawns. You can mostly ignore Detonators, but Bastions are top priority followed by Eradicators. You should Pulse Bomb every Bastion until your group becomes good enough to kill them quickly without it (which is very possible, despite how it seems at first).

You will leave to go to the next section at about 0:15 left on the timer. Don't attack the last Bastion, but beware it might attack you as you run (so triple boost down the road). Ideally, your ult will be at 50% or higher when you leave, but don't stick around just to charge it.

Step-by-Step: Unless otherwise mentioned, there will be a constant stream of Eradicators and Null Troopers at all times. Kill priority always looks like this: Bastion, Eradicator, Null Trooper, Detonator (except Reinhardt, who will always deal with these), Slicer
4:00 - The event begins. The first bit is pretty easy. An Eradicator will spawn on either side. Call it out and Torb + that side's defender will kill it easily.
3:40 - At about this time, an Eradicator will always spawn on the left side. Charge it into the wall and it should melt under Torb's fire.
3:10 - A lull in the action.
2:50 - Detonator on the left. Reinhardt should be right there and can use his hammer to annihilate all the Null Troopers. Mercy's damage boost should allow him to solo the Detonator, especially with a bit of help from Tracer and Torb (who shouldn't have much else to do).
2:29 - Detonator on the right. This will be tougher. There will probably be an Eradicator up as well. Tracer and Torb should kill the Eradicator and the Null Troopers. Reinhardt should set up on the payload and await the Detonator so he can block its explosion. It is possible to kill this, but when first learning it won't be practical.
2:10 - There will be a lull here so you can regroup. Have Mercy heal everyone up and Torb throw out armor (which he should have been doing anyway).
1:54 - A Bastion will spawn. It will appear out of thin air either next to the coffee shop on the right side or from the theater (where the health pack is in PVP) on the left. Reinhardt and Tracer should be looking for it and calling out when they see it (Tracer will need to teleport out of line of sight immediately as it will hurt). Everyone converges on the Bastion's side. Reinhardt will charge it, preferably from behind if there is time but you should immediately charge if he gets into turret form. Once he gets back to his spot, he should be almost dead (yes, this is possible, everyone should be focusing on him). Tracer can drop a Pulse Bomb on him once he's back on his spot (make sure you don't suicide with it). If someone dies in this section, Mercy should instantly ult.
1:28 - Bastion will spawn. Again, call out which side and kill it. More enemies will be around, but you should ignore all of them until he dies. Clean up the Eradicator next if there's one up. Torb might want to ult here.
1:10 - Another lull in the action. Regroup.
0:52 - Detonator on the left. Mercy should boost the Reinhardt to take it out just like the first left one. Tracer can walk around the left side and kill Null Troopers if her side is clear, but don't spend too long as Bastion will be along shortly. Kill maybe one or two.
0:43 - Bastion third. Kill him like you normally would. It will be chaotic. Just focus on him as a top priority. Then you can clean up everything else.
0:20 Fourth Detonator spawns. Ignore it. If you've done everything else right, it will not do enough damage to end the run. Same with the Bastion which will also spawn around this time.
0:15 - Tracer will leave. The rest of the team can move into the building and wait out the timer. The payload should not die. If someone dies, don't rez them. It's ok. If Torb needs ult, he can stay out and fight until he dies to get some extra charge.
0:00 - Payload will kill all enemies, Quickly manual rez and get on it.

Payload Escort
You can view the new video of this here:

This section is actually fairly easy so long as everyone communicates. When a Bastion spawns, players need to call out where (if you have directional sound it's very easy to identify in which direction the Bastion will come from). Also ensure the Payload keeps moving by killing the Slicers. It's mainly just Eradicators, Null Troopers, and Slicers. To deal with these, everyone should stick close to the Payload and generally move as a group.

Special enemies will spawn in four places:

1. Archway - Right at the beginning a Bastion tank will spawn. This is usually behind you but can come from anywhere. Watch out for it but make sure your Tracer and Torb continue to do damage to all the adds. Reinhardt and Mercy can keep an eye out for it and the team will rotate once Reinhardt is ready to engage. Reinhardt can kill Bastion tanks quite easily with his ult followed by a charge. Tracer's ult makes short work of the remaining health. If Bastion isn't dead, Reinhardt should stay on top of him shielding to let the rest of the team finish him off.

2. First Corner - Detonator. Mercy should damage boost Reinhardt and he should just hold [cn_R] like his life depends on it. The rest of the team can help as needed, but Reinhardt can kill most of it alone. Watch out for Slicers on the front side.

3. Final Corners - Each of the last two corners will also spawn a Bastion tank. Be ready for it but don't let it distract you from other enemies. If there is an Eradicator up, Tracer should kill it over Bastion - the Eradicators are bigger threats as Bastion can be easily controlled and kill by Reinahrdt and Torb so long as the team isn't being obliterated from behind.

In this section, kill priority is:

Detonator > Bastion > Eradicator (unless Tracer, where these are top priority) > Slicer > Null Trooper

This might seem tough at first, but once you get it down you'll mostly have it handled. Occasionally Bastion will spawn in a weird place and ruin your day. There's unfortunately not much you can do to prepare for that. You just need to hope to react and be in the right position to handle it.

Orisa Assault
Slow and steady wins the race, but don't waste time. If you rush, you'll lose. Be precise. This is by far the hardest part and it's 20 minutes in, which means you won't get much practice on it. Keep trying and you will get this. Sometimes you need a bit of luck. Here is the best strategy for taking down the Orisa's by killing the Bastion turrets first:

Bastion Turrets: You take them out one by one. Immediately run in and make a beeline for the right hallway to kill the first Bastion turret. Occasionally the first Bastion turret will not be spawned. Ignore it and go through the building and around to the second Bastion by skirting the balcony. Reinhardt will need to shield as everyone crosses. From the second, move on to the third and then jump down and get the fourth. Tracer can take care of most adds but she should be primarily assisting with the Bastion turrets as well.

To kill the turrets, simply charge them, Pulse Bomb, and then nuke them while Reinhardt shields.

Orisa: With Bastion dead, she's simple enough. Simply charge her into a wall and nuke her. Mercy does more healing than she does usually. Reinhardt should shield when needed to preserve health if someone gets low. A tank Bastion will spawn after the first and second die, so be prepared for that. One will also spawn for each of the third and fourth when they get down to about 25% health, so nuke them down quickly once they get low. You'll need to back out when the tank comes after the third Orisa, but you should try to kill the fourth Orisa before she kills you unless you have a ton of time and confidence (you probably won't).

Tank Bastion: Reinhardt should always save his ult and simply use it when the Bastion gets close (shield and walk towards it). Then Charge and it will be almost dead. Shield again once it gets back up as the rest of the team finishes it off.

Adds: Tracer kills these. Especially Eradicators. These are a top priority over Orisa.

When she dies, it's over and you've done it! Congrats. Feel free to drop a comment with any questions smile

Just a heads up for ppl about the final two orisas and last tank bastion(s), after doing this for HOURS last night, I can confirm FOR SURE, the 3rd tank bastion does not spawn when the 3rd orisa dies, instead I'm fairly certain it comes in when a certain damage threshold is reached on either of the last orisas. I know this bc as torb, I nailed both orisas down to about half health relatively close to the same time and we got a 3rd and 4th tank bastion at almost the same time which was just nuts. So I would recommend charging one of the orisas away toward team and rail her as fast as possible, killing 3rd tank when he comes roughly 5 secs after she is killed if killed quick then doing same with last orisa b4 the 4th tank comes, bc he will and if he spawns close....say bye bye to that run.

I know the alternative assault strategy isn't the one you used, however, I think it should be considered the primary. Just about everybody commenting on here who has tried it has confirmed that it makes things substantially easier for them. My group even went as far as to cut across after the third bastion in order to kill the fourth.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tObMi2Izhqc&t=109s

Saw it in this vid and we completed it on our third attempt (RNGeesus wasn't kind for the first two). We had roughly 45 seconds left in the end and the only enemies we had to worry about were enemies coming from the third tank bastion spawn and one straggler from behind.

Huge props for finding the bit about going up the stairs in order to despawn the first tank and what not. That was extremely helpful. I built a level 2 turret on the balcony in order to draw fire off the team as we jumped down and bumrushed the first bastion. Worked fairly well whenever we didn't have a shield enemy protecting the first turret Bastion.

Good luck to everybody still going for this. toast

Don't sell your guide short, Defy. These guides supplement each other well. We've had some awful luck with the tanks spawning behind the Tracer up on the left side. There's a bit of randomness to it but the tips in these guides help steer you in the right direction.

Great tip about the 3 players staying back when pushing the payload. We weren't making much progress at all today until we started doing that.

There is a video coming, but he's away at the moment. Also, it may sound simple, but Reinhardt's decision on when to shield and when to attack is a surprisingly important part of the team's success.

Haha thank you Eurydace and Sanada! I appreciate the comments. Glad to see the guides helping our fellow gamers out ^_^ Defo agree with you there Particle. Rein is the playmaker of the team. Also I don't understand the negative votes on this. It's so well written and organized!

One of them is probably Moat. He's a troll. The other is no doubt a troll. I don't care. People can do what they want. Good quality solutions will get the votes they deserve. If this guide can be improved, I'm happy to hear it. I want to help as many people as possible to get the achievement. That's what TA is all about.

You aren't offering anything better, Moat. Feel free to tell him what you think should be added.

People need to realize there's a luck factor here. Sometimes you'll get spawns that aren't so favorable and you'll have to roll with the punches.

It's still possible. I haven't yet beat the last zone, but I was playing with a group of total randoms with no mics last night and we still had 94% health left at the end of the first payload defense. Easily enough to get through the escort section.

By Pra1s3Th3Sun on 15 Apr 2017 14:38
Yeah, this is still totally doable without the payload glitch. Before we devised the run away strategy, we once had the payload at 97% health at the end of the defense part.

@Hun Playmore, then your Reinhardt isn't being aggressive enough with the tank bastion. If you can, you want to all be behind Rein's shield while he waits for a perfect time to ult. Once I used my ult, I would try to get behind him and charge him away. If you don't have time, then charge him into the nearest wall. I would put my shield up immediately after and he'd be dead within a second or two.

You can do that, but I don't see how that's particularly helpful. We never got hit by the farther Bastion turrets until we were ready to kill them. I think the idea that it makes it easier is just a placebo effect.

By Eurydace on 16 Apr 2017 04:13
You'd never want to deal with them near where the turrets could see anyway as there are other enemies around still, which means either way you're backing up to a point where the turrets are nowhere near you.

By Eurydace on 16 Apr 2017 05:04
Well when you don't have to worry about Tanks taking down the turrets, that's seems particularly helpful. Easier to deal with the tank when you don't have to worry about the turrets, but that's just my 2 cents

EDITED: Meant to say it's easier to deal with the turrets when you don't have to worry about the tanks

For the final 2 Orisas as Reinhardt I charged into the room behind the Orisas and when my charge was back up I charged one of the Orisas back to where my teammates were and we destroyed them no problem. After killing the 3rd Orisa we killed the Tank Bastion that spawned in and did the same strategy again and completed it with ease. My group completed it by killing all the bastion turrets except the one to the right of the final 2 Orisas before we killed the first Orisa and we had about 15 seconds left with that strategy.

Another note about the tank bastions, 1st one comes about 15 secs after 1st orisa dies. 2nd one comes about 5 seconds after 2nd orisa dies and for the 3rd and 4th, read my comment above.

At least for me, the 'alternate strat' worked the first time. This with with randoms, one of which wasn't even in chat, and the torbjorn not even noticing we flanked the Orisa until we'd already killed 3 bastions. It makes it so you aren't having to deal with as many enemies at once, and makes it so you aren't burdened having to snipe them while fighting off other enemies.

Thank you, Eury, for this very detailed guide. Like some other people, I found that the "kill the bastions turret first" approach was very successful in contrast to the one your group used. However, it's "potato-potato, tomato-tomato" and it all comes down to each group's skills and familiarity.

I played with 3 randoms at midnight, no one would join team chat or a party and I beat it my fifth try. Tracer, Torbjorn, and Mercy were insta-locked so I chose Reinhardt and it was pretty rough, we ended with less than 10 seconds left and half the team down.
Note: I was also too lazy and never read a single guide.

Managed to get up to the final part with the Orisa's 3 times yesterday with randoms and being the only using a mic but as soon as that door blows it all falls apart. Someone just rushes straight in and gets insta-downed.

Pretty sure with a good, patient team that communicates, stays together and utelises these strategies, especially for the end I'd be able to get this done. The gaming sessions pretty much fill instantly so if anyone needs and extra to team up with them drop me a message as I'm up for knocking this out.

Hey guys, searching for 2-3 guys to form a team, preferably with Headset as it makes things easiert, busting out this damn hard achievement (especially after they patched the despawn bug).

I can play any of the 4 heroes, played Tracer and Torbjorn for the most part though. German time zone here, so I dont know how possible it is to team up with non europeans regarding the time, but I think this is a problem we could find a solution for.

Looking forward to forming a nice and well communicating team!

You fuckin rock!!! Finally found a team that worked well together, followed your guide and completed this 4 times now. Stay calm and dont tilt, this is not bad once everyone knows their roll. Also, dont expect to get this first try. When we finally got a solid group it still took about 8hrs of playing together to get this done. Stay calm and learn where you are messing up, then fix it. Still need some luck with bastion spawns during escort phase. Great guide though!!

Looking to get this achievement done with by Wednesday night. I go back to work Thursday morning at 6am and won't have time to complete this DLC before it goes away after I go back to work.

I got this 4/12/18, best feeling ever! Didn't get to play last year but being a Mercy main paid off, had a great team and an amazing Rein!
Less than 10 tries.

learned the most important thing about beating uprising on legendary is having a good rein. You can not make it past the first payload bit without one. A bastion will wipe your team if you have a rein that is too dumb to use his shield.

1. You can't mod GS on Xbox One so probably didn't cheat

2. On what basis are you confirming this? The event is live right now, and I can select "Uprising; Legendary", so why can this not be done?

Here's a clip of us doing it a little while ago. The order we do things is a little different but I figured people are gonna want to see some sort of vid. I'm on Mercy during this hellish endeavor.

Note that the first few seconds or so is cut out, but we went immediately to the right and took out the first bastion turret before anything else. Vid starts from there.

Read on reddit that you can just ignore the first OR-14N and just take care of the Bastion turrets without worry of the other 3 of the OR-14Ns and the Tank Bastions.

Can't test it myself yet, but this info could be helpful if 100% true

I love the guide but am having trouble getting a team together. Me and a friend have consistently gotten to the last Orissa but always run out of time. If anyone wants to get a team together or help us out id appreciate it. Good luck to everyone else I know this thing is driving me mad.

Epilepsy, we're going to put up a guide for that part, but it really isn't that bad. It really just cuts off a bunch of time spent trying. Once you have enough practice, even Legendary is pretty easy. We've been helping people left and right and have gotten it done on the first try multiple times.

A variation of aforementioned strategy, which is amazing for getting you to the end, but I think you'll find this method easier to pull off with a greater margin for error to finish. It uses the Bastion turret strategy with a different beginning and positioning for the only 2 tank Bastions, which are killed immediately. If you kill the 3rd and 4th Orisas fast enough the final tank Bastions(which are timed) never spawn and we finish with a nice buffer of 1:24 left.

Reinhardt's point of view should give you a great vantage point for the entire strategy, but I'd encourage you to view the other 2 videos for your specific role. From all 3 videos you can piece together where Torbjorn was, what he was doing, and when. Special thanks to TheBigTicket94 and Tranierx, with guest appearances by FrozenImplosion and RaginCajun928 as the Swedish chef.

From Tracer's point of view, paying attention to the priority of adds.
And from Mercy's point of view, notice the switching from healing to damage when needed.

Worked first try. Took us a few attempts to get the escort part down as we were use to just using the glitch but once we made it to the Orisas this worked like charm first go. Previously we would reach the last 2 Orisas out of time but this solution fixed that. Thank-you.

Almost exact same strat we used except to cut a tiny bit of time tracer killed 3rd bastion by herself while torb (me) stood behind corner and crit shot 2nd bastion till it died. Either way I can without a doubt confirm for others this is the strat to use.

Glad to see more people contributing solutions.

Our original strategy will have you killing the final Orisas without a third tank Bastion too. This is just a slightly different method.

We had around 1:40 left on one of our first runs to carry other people, so both strategies will work just as quickly.

Good guide overall.

I followed the same steps as Eurydace, but we changed up the Orisa steps by killing all the Bastions first. I ran as Mercy, so you can see it from a healers point of view. Good luck to everyone.

Walkthrough
I am going to skip the first 3 phases of Uprising which consist of the following phases

1. Hacking 3 Points
2. Payload Defense
3. Payload Escort

The walkthrough from Eurydace and Defy Lightning are detailed and extremely useful if you need a walkthrough for those parts.

Orisa Assault (Do or Die)
The area where most people will fail is the final part during the Orisa assault. It can be devastating to get all the way this far and have everyone die or run out of time to kill all the Orisas. This is the strategy we used:

5:30 As soon as the door blows up, everyone in the team needs to go straight for the first turret bastion. Dont worry about the first Orisa or any enemies at the moment. Some key things to consider for each role in this part:

Reinhardt: Make sure to charge the bastion to against the wall and start swinging as soon as the charge is finished.

Tracer / Torb: Focus fire on the bastion to take it down as soon as possible

Mercy: Damage boost either Tracer or Torb and heal as necessary. If you feel confident, you can also DPS and shoot your pistol

5:10 Once the bastion is dead, move down the hallway and take the door to the right. Go inside the room and make your way to the door straight ahead, leading the team to the opposite room where it gives you access to the bastion on the left side. Some key things to consider for each role in this part:

Reinhardt: Swing your hammer for any small enemies (however dont get too caught up killing everything as you need to keep moving). As you leave the room, put your shield up in front of the bastion so that the team can walk safely without getting demolished by the bastion.

Tracer / Torb: Kill and small enemies along the way and follow Reinhardt's lead to get to the room leading to the second turret bastion.

4:50 At this point, you should be on the ledge getting ready to kill the second turret bastion. Reinhardt should be fully healed with his shield fully charged. Reinhardt will put his shield in front of the bastion while Tracer, Torb and Mercy puts as much damage to the bastion before the Rein shield goes down. Another strategy for this part is for the Mercy to damager boost the Tracer and Torb while they shoot the bastion.

Feel free to use ultimates here (Tracer and Reinhardt) to kill the bastion in case the Reinhardt shield goes down before the bastion dies.

4:35 Keep making your way to the third bastion. Reinhardt needs to charge the third turret bastion. Tracer, Torb and Mercy will provide damage to help kill the bastion. Just like last time, feel free to use ultimates to get this bastion killed as soon as possible.

4:20 Make your way back to spawn and get ready to kill the first Orisa. Try to have the fight next to the entrance since this will give you much needed cover from enemy fire and give you control on how you want to assault the first Orisa.

3:35 Once you kill the first Orisa, the first tank bastion will show up about 20 seconds later. Use this 20 seconds to kill and enemies and do some damage to the second Orisa.

The tank bastions will spawn randomly (either in front or behind you). Keep an eye out for it and make call outs once you see the tank bastion. Reinhardt should do everything he can to charge the bastion to a wall. Have everyone follow up by damaging the tank bastion and kill it as soon as possible.

2:50 With the turret bastions gone, you will have free reign to kill the second Orisa without much hassle. Make your way and continue putting damage to the second Orisa until it is dead.

2:42 Once you kill the Orisa, the second tank bastion will show up within 10-15 seconds. Make your way to the left ledge where the team killed the second turret bastion.

Just like the first tank bastion, this one will spawn randomly. Keep an eye out for it and communicate with your team once you see it. Keep moving on the left ledge and try to lure the tank bastion where Reinhardt can easily charge it with everyone following up damaging the tank bastion.

1:25 Once the tank bastion is dead, make your way to the left side and start working on the 2 remaining Orisas. This going to be the do or die moment, However, below is the trick we used to finish this section:

Reinhardt: Keep the shield up so Tracer can put damage to the Orisa. Swing your hammer when you are confident nothing else is shooting at you. To play it safe, follow Tracer and Mercy to the small room and use the room as needed cover from enemy damage. Pop your shield to protect Tracer as she is trying to put some damage on the Orisa.

Tracer: Zip toward the back room and put as much damage on Orisa.

Mercy: Continuously damage boost Tracer and switch to healing Tracer / Reinhardt as necessary.

Torb: Stay on the opposite side. With the Orisa focused on Tracer, Rein and Mercy, it should give you time to put up your turret. This way, the damage will be put on the Orisa, either through Torb or through Tracer. Snipe shoot the Orisa to give some damage.

0:50 Once the third Orisa dies, the next tank bastion will spawn randomly after 5 seconds. Rein should shield Tracer and Mercy as Tracer tries to continue to do damage. If the opportunity arises, Reinhardt should charge the Orisa towards Torb to give the team a little extra time away from the tank bastion. Torb should use his ultimate at this point to give as much damage to Orisa.

We decided, as a team, to keep shooting Orisa and disregard the tank bastion.

If luck is on your side, you should be able to kill the Orisa and complete the legendary difficulty of Uprising.

+1 from me. I can't even begin to think about killing the first orisa before turrets are taken care of. My team deviated a bit from this strategy which I think was to our benefit. After the 3rd bastion turret kill, tracer cleans up the adds including the eradicator to give the rest of the team an easier time getting to the 4th bastion turret to kill him. After, tracer cleans up the other adds that have spawned for the rest of the team to move back to the first orisa. Our Rein charged the 1st orisa outside of the door blasted open by the payload and our team all jumped on the orisa, leaving her with little to no health before it got back to its original spot. The same with the 2nd although we could only charge the second orisa back to the first orisas spot. The 2nd orisa still had a bit of health but we got it down with tracer behind it and the rest in front. After nearly wiping to the second tank bastion we had rein hammer the 3rd orisa while Mercy healed him through the 2 orisas damage and the same was done for the 4th minus the part where we nearly wiped once again finishing with just the tracer and mercy up with 3.5 seconds to go shock If you are curious of what this looks like you can view my most recent clip. We were recently only killing 3 but were told about the strat of killing the 4th bastion turret as well and after 2 attempts (1 where we didn't make it past payload) we got it on our 3rd try.

Good guide. As shown in the video, it seems best to rush the turret bastions with everyone moving very quickly. Also, is Mercy's control setup different to the default?

I'm not sure if tis better or worst, it just worked better for my team doing it that way since we took care of the tank bastions after we have gotten rid of all the turret bastions. it gave us more mobility in the end to take care of the orisas a little easier

Seems as though Tank Bastions spawn 10-15 seconds after an OR15 is killed. On the last 2, it would make the most sense to get the health down on them as low as possible before they are killed to stop a third tank appearing.

Are you sure about that particle cause we get different tank bastions at completely different times despite killing first orisa almost guaranteed around 4:15 on clock? This is while running killing all turret strategy first. Just questioning you cause we have had a 3rd and 4th bastion spawn within 10 seconds of each other at the end, mentioned it in my massive comment above.

Not my solution, credit goes to Prof_EobardThawne on reddit.

There's a lot of concern going around that this mode is nigh impossible to deal with. I'm here to tell you that it's true.

I got it done not too long ago. Took maybe 3-4 hours of trying new things. This was PUG queue -- none of us knew each other before it, we just queue'd up together at end of our first match. Communication is essential -- mainly for screaming that a Bastion just dropped.I'll start with a brief idea of positioning for each Phase, and then give specific role tips.

Let me know if there's feedback, or if something worked well for your squad.

Phase 1 (HACK #1):

This is obviously a pretty easy one, even for Legendary mode. Don't dick around is the biggest part to beating Phase 1, but other than that there's a few things to speed it up.

Tracer: Usually positioned on right staircase inside/outside the garage. Shouldn't need to be healed too much here, as you're behind the spawned bots.
Torbjorn: Sets his Turret up immediately to the right of the Terminal's position. From there it can watch both the immediate threat of the back stairs, but also the front if any gets past Reinhardt and Tracer.
Reinhardt: Mercy will be doing most of your damage, don't get too greedy and move past the garage doors, as you'll be brought down pretty low pretty fast.
Mercy: Again, you will be most of the damage coming from the front doors, but don't forget to damage boost Firestrike.

Phase 2 (HACK #2):

This one is a step up in difficulty. The biggest thing would be to get that Turret down and upgraded ASAP. Don't be afraid to hide inside buildings if Reinhardt needs to recharge his shield. You have unlimited time, but the longer you wait the more that will spawn.

Tracer: The best spot we found for Tracer was right in front of the Cathedral doors. From here, she can shoot off the ShieldBot's shield arm and can otherwise do a decent chunk of the damage. If you need healing, obviously fall back to the Terminal.
Torbjorn: Best place for your Turret here is immediately in front of Terminal. Get Armor for Mercy and Tracer and otherwise deal with the bots that will spawn immediately behind the Terminal / statue.
Reinhardt: Shield-duty. Soak up as much damage as possible, and do not be afraid to Earthshatter AFTER the ShieldBot's shields are down. Your Earthshatter is blocked by the shield just like any other enemy.
Mercy: You won't be doing much damage here besides clearing away Enemies who are behind your Reinhardt and Torbjorn. Save Resurrect for Reinhardt, or both of the DPS. Usually will need it here at least once, depending on how well Tracer does.

Phase 3 (HACK #3):

DO NOT START this Terminal until you've killed all previous Phase enemies. It makes it that much harder when you step on the Terminal and the new enemies start spawning.

Tracer: Best position is the right staircase. Usually our Tracer ran behind the ShieldBots and took out their shields first and foremost. Don't be afraid to Pulse Bomb off cooldown on the ShieldBots.
Torbjorn: Our Torbjorn put his Turret on the top left balcony. You can find some boxes near the back to get up there. From this angle, it can cover front entrance and the left side entrance. Armor, Armor, Armor.
Reinhardt: Our Reinhardt held the front left entrance. Be careful of Line of Sight here, as the Mercy will be the only one on the Terminal, and she cannot step off. Feel free to charge in the front entrance all you'd like, but be wary of your health and positioning -- otherwise Mercy won't be able to heal you.
Mercy: You will be the one on the Terminal this Phase, so your biggest goal is to use the cover that's provided for you, and make sure to use damage boost on Reinhardt, as he'll really be the only one you can see. Resurrect will almost certainly be used here again, but be careful and don't be too eager to use it. If you can use Reinhardt's shield to cover and do a manual revive, then do so and save your Resurrect.

Phase 4 (PAYLOAD #1):

This consists of getting the PayLoad up and running. Pretty straight forward, but probably the hardest Phase. Your biggest concern here is the Bastion drops. Your team's focus should be on the Bastions 100% once they spawn. Your Ults should have enough time to recharge between the Bastion spawns, so make sure to use them -- but be quick about filling it up again. Bastion spawns start when there's 2 Minutes remaining, so other than them, make sure to kill the LaserBots ASAP. They'll destroy your Payload health faster than most every other enemy. BombBots are relatively easy to deal with. Don't bother bursting them down or using Ults on them. Just have your Reinhardt Charge them right as it starts to Self-Destruct. It will take maybe 25% of Reinhardt's health, but if you let it Self-Destruct on the Payload, then it will take 25% of the Payload's -- not good.

A good Payload Health to begin the next Phase should be around 40-60%. Any less and it makes the next Phase that much harder.

Tracer: You'll mostly be running between the right entrance (archway) and the left entrance (statue). Pulse Bombs can be used at your discretion, but make sure to ALWAYS have one for the Bastion. Mercy will be primarily damage boosting you, so be sure to stay in her Line of Sight.
Torbjorn: Before everyone gets on the Payload and begins this Phase, go upstairs and set your Turret up on the left entrance balcony (statue side). You won't be with your Turret to repair it much, so be sure to keep an eye on its health and use your Ult if necessary to keep it alive. Assist Reinhardt on the left entrance.
Reinhardt: You'll mostly be covering the left entrance as said - but be careful of positioning here again. You shouldn't be using charge until BombBots start spawning. Use it immediately when they start to Self-Destruct. Otherwise, let your team do the damage -- keep your shield up and protecting both your team AND the Payload as much as possible.
Mercy: You'll be damage boosting on the side here, but make sure to use your side-arm as much as you can. Headshots do wonders here. Resurrect is going to be almost mandatory here, so be wary of when you use it -- not too early.

Phase 4 (PAYLOAD #2):

This Phase is a step-down in difficulty, but still hard none-the-less. Bastion spawns aren't as frequent here, but they are in a permanent Tank form. They usually do focus the Payload, unless you get pretty close - so keep your Shield up and keep your distance. Think of this as moving the Payload in any Competitive game -- stick together (That means you, Tracer).

Tracer: As I said earlier, don't stray too far away from your Shield here. The Bastion Tanks will 1-shot you if it's a direct hit (also, they're Aim-Botting -- stay behind the Shield).
Torbjorn: Set your Turret up on-top of the Payload, but don't expect it to do too much here, as the health on most of the enemies in this Phase is usually much higher. Get that armor down and focus on the side-enemies.
Reinhardt: Your Shield here is of utmost importance. Not only for protecting yourself and your teammates, but also because it blocks damage from the Bastion Tanks hitting the Payload. You will have to Charge a few BombBots here, so be on the look-out for them.
Mercy: You will have to swap from doing damage and healing frequently on this Phase, so always be maximizing that down-time (Don't reload, just heal someone and it will auto-fill.) Resurrect may be able to be saved here, but better to use it than not to.

Phase 5 (PAYLOAD #3):

Final Phase, one of the harder Phases solely because you are now TIMED. You have 5 Minutes to kill every single Orisa. Bastions are frequent and will spawn infinitely until you kill all Orisas. There is no hiding around corners beyond the brief Shield recharge, so make sure to keep an eye on the clock. There's also an abundance of crates to use as cover, both for yourself and for the enemy to use. Take advantage of peaking corners especially for those Bastions.

Enemies will spawn infinitely here until the x4 Orisas are taken care of. They themselves don't do too much damage, but they constantly throw down shields and throw your team around.
A valid strategy (not the one we used) is to bum-rush the Orisa. They spawn in 3 different waves, the farther in you get, the more spawn. Don't have more than two at a time, or you'll never even break the shields.

Tracer: Another harder one for you, as the Bastions will chew through your health in under a second UNLESS you have Armor on. Armor reduces the effectiveness of normal bullets by a large margin, so make sure Torbjorn is prioritizing you and Mercy for Armor.
Torbjorn: Probably the hardest on you, solely because you won't have a place to just set your Turret. You will have to constantly be replanting it, and don't expect it to last long, or even get it to level 2. Armor is a game changer here, mostly for those Bastion turrets. Don't be afraid to Molten Core without a Turret up, whether it be defensively or offensively.
Reinhardt: Shield is another big one, but don't let the Bastions chew through it just to get a few bullets of from your DPS -- use cover. Charge only for Bastions and Orisas, but don't move out of Mercy's range.
Mercy: Won't be doing too much damage here, besides the few little bots that spawn behind you. Focus on healing Reinhardt and your Tracer, but also be damage boosting at all possible times, specifically when a Tracer is downing a Bastion turret.

Final Notes:

That turned out a lot longer than intended, but other than those major concepts, there's a few things you can do to help that take a bit more time, but are sometimes worth it.

Tracer can Blink behind ShieldBots and shoot the left arm. This causes their Shield to break. Reinhardt can also Charge and it will instantly break it.

You can wait before some of the next Phases and let your Torbjorn get some Armor down before you start. Highly recommended.

You can see some of the Bots being airlifted down, if you shoot the little capsule they come in before they begin landing, you will destroy it instantly. Works well for your Mercy to do this on the side.

Damage doesn't interrupt the manual Revive.

Either Molten Core or Reinhardt's Shield can be used to do a manual Revive. The former boosts your health tenfold, so you can Revive without worrying of dying.

Due to popular demand, I decided to write this guide. The guide on this is honestly really well done and detailed. Well done to the guy on Reddit, you mystery hero. My main focus here will be the final section of the mission. Imo, the hardest thing about this or rather the only hard thing about it once you get the flow of everything else.

Main Tips for each Character(Sort of?)

Tracer I was running the Tracer in my group. You are so squishy and can easily go down in 2 bullets so try to be really evasive and know when to blink and ESPECIALLY recall at the right time. Mercy won't always be healing you or at least my Mercy wasn't lol. Tracer should always try to go behind the eradicators and shoot their left arm asap. However, don't overextend if you have a ton of guys. Kill some of the little guys first and then go behind the shield. Sometimes you won't be able to and that's fine. It's better to stay alive than go down behind enemies where your teammates can't get you. Tracer is literally a godsend against Bastion also. Anytime you see a Bastion, you will be going after them after Rein charges or stuns them. Pulse bomb them if you can. Not always necessary, if your team is all focusing fire on the Bastion but if you need to take them out quick, go for it. Have Rein set his shield up and you should try to shoot Bastions back. If the rest of your team is focusing fire, you should be able to kill him after they're charged/stunned. Tracer will have to dance around a little with her blinks. If you know you can finish the Bastion off go for it, but don't try to be a hero either.

Reinhardt Imo, the most crucial role in all this. I never played as Reinhardt minus the one time for the achievement, but it made me realize that I was a terrible Rein. However, I can tell you what our Rein did that really helped out. You should always try to charge the eradicators when you can, but don't do it if you're going crazy far and halfway across the map. Try to hit them against a wall 2 feet behind them. Our Rein was excellent at this. He then just swung away while being buffed/healed by Mercy. Knowing when to be aggressive and defensive is so crucial here! When the slicers come on the payload, don't try to block them. Just hammer away! Lastly, save your hammers for big mobs or a Bastion so you can buy some yourself some breathing room for everyone. Play smart, aggressive, go Rambo! But not too Rambo. Protect your Mercy! She is the butter to your bread. You two will be besties in this. BFFs.

Mercy Only played as Mercy once also haha. You will be doing everything literally. Healing and buffing will be your primary role, but don't be afraid to go battle Mercy. Your pistol is so powerful so use it when you can! Know when to rez. Sometimes you'll have to go for that solo rez, that's fine. You will pocketing Rein a lot here. He will be soaking a ton of the damage and your job will be to keep him alive all the time or most of the time if we're being realistic here. Still focus on Tracer and Torb too though! I honestly would freak out playing Mercy. I don't know how many times we yelled I need healing(Genji style) to our Mercy. Pro tip, be nice to your Mercy! It's not easy being the medic. Knowing everyone's lives hangs in your hands, ah the pressure. But you can do it, I believe in you!

Torb Not sure why I'm even writing these tips, considering I've only played every character minus Tracer only once.. but anyway! Torb, oh Torb. Your turret will be like having a 5th teammate when it's level 2. Always set it down where you feel it won't get targeted and shot as easily. Try to keep all your teammates armored at all tines especially Tracer. Try to set down your armor in one spot in a section rather than spread out so your teammates don't miss any. Your RT will be your main fire, but your LT is good also. If you feel you're being overwhelmed, don't be afraid to molten core! You will especially come in handy in the last section against the Orisas. Your RT + damage buff from Mercy is amazing and headshots do so much damage.

Wow, I wrote a lot. Apologize if some of these tips are rather eh lol. Like I said I always ran Tracer so I'm by no means a pro Mercy, Rein or Torb. That's just what I observed from my teammates who did this with me. Everyone has an important role. Stick together, communicate, spam I need healing and you will be golden.

Hack 1
Pretty basic. You'll blow it through it with breeze. Maybe have the Tracer go down cus he's a noob(aka me)

Hack 2
You're now in the open so it's a little more tricky now, but still relatively easy. Rein and Tracer should be watching the front mainly, but they will be coming from everywhere so callouts are important here. Torb should set his turret down a bit to the back right of the hack point so it watches enemies from the front and the back. Mercy will be healing, buffing and shooting some omnic face off. Once it's capped off, don't be afraid to back up and clean up the rest of the enemies. There's no more infinite respawn so just stick together and whittle away.

Hack 3

You're now in the cathedral. Torb, set your turret all the way in the back right of the building. We'll be getting more eradicators in this section(shield guys as I like to call em) Tracer should try to bring their shields down. Same for Rein. Mercy will be up top on the left healing and buffing the team from a safe distance. Don't be afraid to go battle Mercy, but just keep an eye out for the heals at all times. Pretty standard and shouldn't cause too many issues.

Defend Payload

To keep this short, the tips in the other guide are great. However, I will say do not and I mean do not charge the bombs. Just bring up your shield before they blow up. The annoying part about this part will be the Bastions spawning. They're such a priority. If you don't take care of them right away, they will melt you in seconds especially you Tracer! So charge/stun them, pulse bomb and everyone should focus fire. If you do, he should die before you even get a chance to pulse bomb. Slicers are a priority but they don't damage you so if there's a lot of enemies on the field, take care of them quickly then kill the slicers. Be quick, fast and efficient!

Escort Payload
CHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE
No, seriously, cheese it. I won't even bother with this one. It can be done legit, but if you just want the achievement then just cheese. Cheese is good. Don't know how to cheese? Have Tracer run to the door where you escort the payload and wait there. Don't move out of that little box or enemies will spawn. Sometimes you'll have a small enemy or 2, but you should easily be able to take care of them. Know when to recall!

Do or Die

Time for the hard part about legendary. Jk, but seriously. Once you get the team comp down and everyone performs their role, it really is a cakewalk. Up until this point anyway. Out of 3 times of attempting this, we were successful only once with 20 seconds left! The other time we ran out of time halfway on the last Orisa and the other we just got rekt by the Bastions. So how can you beat this incredibly annoying part? I'll tell ya! Here's what worked for me and my team.

First Orisa will show up. Rein should put his shield up, while Tracer and Torb focus fire. Mercy will damage buff Torb and his shots will do so much damage to the head. Keep whittling away at her health. Mercy will be healing and buffing here only. No more battle Mercy! Well, you can, but be very very cautious and aware. Once you take care of that first Orisa, take care of the additional enemies and you will get a Bastion tank too. For us, he came from where he escorted so have everyone look back and focus fire. Rein should charge or stun him and same plan anytime you have Bastion. Everyone shoot him!

Now that he's taken care of, you will want to focus on the turret Bastion on to the right. Rein pop your shield and walk up slowly then go for the charge or stun! Mercy should be healing/buffing Rein since he will be eating bullets during the charge. Go for the pulse here if you want and you might have to dance around to finish him. Now that he's taken care of, we're going to focus on the second Orisa. Torb put down your turret where you killed the Bastion and it will help immensely. You will notice the turret Bastion being annoying and spraying away here. As much as you may tempted to kill him, don't just yet. Keep whittling away at the Orisa. Mercy should solely be healing and buffing here cus of all the enemy fire going on. You may even go down so that rez will be useful here.

Once the Orisa and all the other additional enemies are dead, you can now move on to the second turret Bastion. Rein pop your shield and escort your team to the left stairs here and proceed to the Bastion. Rein should charge the Bastion here against the wall and Tracer if you have that bomb go for it. Torb can go ahead and set up his turret for extra damage. Again, use the shield trick here. When Rein has his shield up, he will ignore all other enemies so Tracer can fire away without any problems. Also, we got another tank Bastion here. Rein pop your shield to protect your team and charge/stun him. Everyone focus fire. Now that he's taken care of, you will move further to the back left.

There will be yet another turret Bastion here. Rein pop your shield and walk up slowly then charge! Everyone focus fire again and boom that's all the turret Bastions done. Now for the fun part. 2 Orisas! Rein(See what I mean by Rein being crucial?) But yes, Rein pop your shield and everyone shoot away at the Orisas. Meanwhile, from this same spot that you killed the turret Bastion, Torb set up your turret for extra damage. Go molten core do it! Mercy should damage buff him when he does for even more damage. Rein can go ahead and try to hammer while Mercy heals him but be careful because there's another turret Bastion on the other side, but we don't have time for him. Keep whittling away. Tracer if you can, if you're feeling really risky rush an Orisa and go for the pulse bomb. But be super careful! Once an Orisa is taken care of, what our Rein did was pop his shield and got behind the last Orisa. He then charged her to us in the corner and from there we just melted her as she backed away.

That's how we did it. We finished it with 20 seconds left. I'm sure there are better strategies, but this is how we got it done! You will need to be really ballsy in this last section. Take some risks, but be smart. Mercy can rez, but there's only so much rez she can do. Good luck guys! I really hope this helps. This was honestly really fun to write. I wasn't expecting to write up this much. I've never written a long guide like this. If there's any improvements, questions, concerns, please feel free to ask me! I will gladly respond and make edits to this if I need to.
