How to unlock the Grounded achievement in Peggle 2 - Definitive Guide
TRIAL 1, Zap ‘Em!: Wait until the moving peg is right above the triangle with the two red pegs. When it’s above it, hit that peg and you’ll also clear the two red pegs below. Success!
TRIAL 2, Discharged: Aim for the bottom half of the rectangular peg on the upper-left side. Hitting it in the right spot will bounce it back and forth, across the screen, hitting all (or most) of the pegs. I didn’t hit the circular peg at the bottom, but I still completed the trial. Woo!
TRIAL 3, Orange Glow: Use Gnorman. He’s the best at clearing lots of pegs, and it’s his level, anyhow, so give the little guy his due. The sooner you can get Uber Volt (his power-up), the faster you can beat this level. Getting Uber Volt early will help you clear out a ton of the screen really quickly, and free up the rest of the pegs for easy clears. Even though there’s far more orange pegs than normal, this level’s not too tricky.
TRIAL 4, Maximum Overvolt: If, for some reason, you weren’t sold on Gnorman’s Uber Volt power-up already, this level should seal the deal. Even without the ability to get new balls, five shots should be enough to clear this level easily. I got it on my second try (and used all five balls, so don’t feel bad if you need to use all five). Early on, aim for shots that carom back and forth across the screen so that you maximize the number of pegs you can clear. Clearing as many as possible will make getting rid of just the oranges even easier.
TRIAL 5, Colonel Discharge: This one’s hard to write a guide for, because there’s no real tried and true way to beat this. Honestly, it’s kind of all about getting a lucky bounce. The best way I found to do it (well, the only way I succeeded) was to aim all the way to the right of the screen, about two ball widths above the upper-right most circular peg. Ideally, what you want to do, is avoid the top row altogether on your first shot. If you shoot straight down from the beginning, you’re just going to get yourself in trouble by clearing too many pegs and not leaving enough for a second Major Discharge. If you’re able to avoid the entire top row, you should be able to get 10 volts on the second shot for a second Major Discharge … as long as you get another lucky bounce. Aim for the two pegs that are going up and down in the top middle of the screen, and try to get the ball to bounce to the left. Good luck.
TRIAL 6, Short Circuit: Whew! An easy one after the last level. Aim for the upper left circle peg in the middle, and aim for it to bounce up and to the right. It should jostle around, and slide until it hits enough pegs to clear them all. This one’s sort of luck-based, too, but it’s not tough and it’s a quick restart if you goof.
TRIAL 7, Gnome Style: The easiest style shot to get is free ball skills. To get that, you have to shoot a ball, have it hit off one peg, and go straight in the cup. You should be able to get three or four of these off of the two rotating circles of pegs at the bottom of the screen. TIP: The gentler you touch the pegs, the less of an angle it'll bounce off. Barely touching them basically drops the ball straight down. This is what you want. After you get three or four this way, you can continue to try getting them from the bottom, but what I found was easier was to clear out all the rotating pegs at the bottom and start ricocheting them off the shielded pegs at the top.
An alternate solution from MaikeruSentan in the comments: "If you are having trouble with trial 7 i have found the perfect way to beat it. When the level first starts tap the left d-pad 12 times then when the ball catcher is coming from the right shoot when it is directly under the middle, then wait for it to come from the left and shoot again. if you shoot with the catcher coming from the same side twice you will mess up the shot completely. Now after you have gotten 2 free ball skills shots press the d-pad 17 times to the right and repeat... i was also able to get one more timed shot off of the right to unlock it."
TRIAL 8, Orange Box: I used Gnorman again. I like his Uber Volt power-up when trying to get rid of tons of orange pegs. There’s nothing particularly difficult about this trial; there’s just more orange pegs than normal, and there’s more orange pegs than in Trial 3. Play like you normally do, and use Gnorman’s Uber Volt to clear a bunch of pegs at once. I tried to use his power-up sooner, rather than later, just because there’s a higher chance of having it pinball around and get rid of a ton of pegs at once. If you’re able to get the power-up and then get the ball inside the rotating square when it’s mostly full, you can do some serious damage. Even without doing that, this trial isn’t tough.
TRIAL 9, Low Amps: Choose Bjorn. His ability won’t give you any more points (unless you’re masochistic), and it will help guide you to pegs that would otherwise be difficult to hit. ALWAYS AIM AWAY FROM PURPLE PEGS. They'll run your score up quickly. 175,000 points gives you a good deal of leeway, so you don't need to be perfect here. Try to knock out as many red pegs as possible without getting a green one. Once you reach a point where you're struggling to hit more reds, pick up a green and use Bjorn's ability to bounce shots to hit the red pegs you miss. Before you hit the last red peg, waste all your other balls! Either re-direct them off blue pegs to go quickly, or shoot into nothingness and lose coin flips until they're all gone. I wound up with like 90,000 points before the final cup bonus, so I had plenty of room to spare. This one's kind of weird, but not tough. Good luck.
TRIAL 10, Machine Dream: Use Gnorman (recognize a pattern yet?). I’m not sure if I was unlucky, but this seemed like the toughest “score over xxx points” for all the trials up to this point. Luckily, 500,000 isn’t a tough threshold to hit. Hit some green pegs early on to pick up Uber Volt early. Aim at clusters of purple pegs to really drive your score up a lot, and hope the ball bounces around a bit. I think the problem I had with this level is that there’s nowhere for the ball to slide around or get stuck … if it takes a bad bounce, you’re kind of out luck. Either way, get Uber Volt, aim for groups of purples, and cross your fingers.
Woo!

This is for completing all 10 trials from the forth area named Gnorman's Gneighborhood. Here is the list of trials, with a video walkthrough by PS4Trophies Wozamil:
- Trial 1: For this you need to fire at the moving blue peg when it's over the orange ones so that it zaps through the blocking bit of scenery to hit the orange pegs.
- Trial 2: This just teaches you how to get one major discharge shot, and is easily done by firing the ball at the highest pegs on the left hand side so it bounces from one side to the other.
- Trial 3: Hit 40 orange pegs, this is easily done just use the character you are most comfortable with.
- Trial 4: Here you use Gnorman, and you just need to make sure that you try and aim in the middle of orange pegs so it zaps those around it, to try and make the most out of each shot.
- Trial 5: Using major discharge style shots you need to try and chain the pegs together so we advise you fire the first shot against the wall on the left so that it bounces and skims across, and falls through the layers. Now for your second shot, do the same on the other side so that you maximise the amount of pegs in the balls path.
- Trial 6: Here you need to hit the orange peg on the middle left on the very edge so that it flicks the ball up enough to hit the square pegs above it, but not high enough that it bounces out. This so that it can roll round and hit them all.
- Trial 7: For this you need the style shots, and the easiest way to do that is to aim down the middle to try and get a free ball styling by hitting one peg on either of the spinning pegs and into the bucket. However if that fails you can try and get the major discharge shot by getting the green and then hitting 10 pegs.
- Trial 8: We used Berg to hit the pegs around the square that are in a line to clear them out.
- Trial 9: Score less than 175,000, for this just refer to the tips for trial 9 from Peggle Institute.
- Trial 10: Score more then 500,000. For this we just used Gnorman because his super is good for chaining the purple pegs, and clearing the board.
