How to unlock the Higher Ground achievement in Peggle 2 - Definitive Guide
I felt this was an easier set of trials than Bjorn's, but maybe I just got lucky. Either way, here's a level-by-level breakdown of how to clear each trial.
TRIAL 1, Ten-Pin: Very simple, the easiest of the bunch. On your first ball, try to pick up a green peg and also at least one red peg. Once you have a boulder, aim to hit as many red pegs as possible, while also picking up the second green peg. On the second boulder, clean up whatever you missed.
TRIAL 2, Wreckoning: Again, simple. Aim a tiny bit left of the left column of blue pegs. Clear all 15 to clear the trial. If you mess up (and I did), just restart it.
TRIAL 3, Orange Crush: I chose Berg for this. Whenever there's a lot of pegs floating around, he's great. Restart this trial until you can get a green peg on your first ball. This will start his power-up, and help you start clearing pegs. On your next ball, aim for the biggest cluster of pegs that remain. They'll blow into each other and cause a massive chain reaction. Rinse and repeat with any other green pegs you may have hit. By this point, you should have at least 7 balls left (if not far more), so you should be able to pick off the remaining pegs with no problem.
TRIAL 4, Bowling Blind: This one can be tricky if you don't have a great eye for the game. I picked Gnorman, because I wanted his power-up to help me clear out as many pegs as possible. There's not much of a strategy to this one. It's not a difficult stage, but can be frustrating since you can't see where you're aiming.
TRIAL 5, Trollin' With Style: The easiest style shot to get is free ball skills. To get that, you have to shoot a ball, have it hit off one peg, and go straight in the cup. Use your first few balls to clear out the vertical path of round pegs down the center of the stage. Then, start picking off the rectangle pegs bordering both sides. Time it so that the cup is right about to pass by the center before you throw. TIP: The gentler you touch the pegs, the less of an angle it'll bounce off. Barely touching them basically drops the ball straight down. This is what you want.
TRIAL 6, 10% of a Billion: Don't get psyched out by this. You have unlimited boulders. I used my first two to aim all the way left, and all the way right. This cleared out a good chunk of the pegs up top and a decent amount down below. I then proceeded to clear out all the pegs in the middle section, giving me a straight path to the cup. I spent a few minutes getting the "Spare Pickup" style shot, which is where you shoot the boulder into the cup. Each of those gets you 10,000. By the time I started this, thanks to the crazy amount of purple pegs, I had like 14 balls left, and about 400,000 points. I got my score up to around 800,000 with the "Spare Pickup" technique, then cleared out the rest of the pegs. I wound up with something like 1.3 million. If you're nervous, just use the "Spare Pickup" trick until you hit a million. It's boring, but effective.
TRIAL 7, Open Orange: This was the toughest of the 10 trials for me. Again, I used Gnorman, because I wanted to clear as many pegs as possible. Here's what I did on the time I won. I used my first two balls to get mini slides on the two sets of rectangular pegs at the top of the center pin. If you can, get a green peg on your second slide. If you can't, use your third ball to get a green peg. (Restart if you can't get one this soon.) Then, shoot your next ball to the left and pray you get a lucky bounce. Once, I was able to careen it off the middle pin's, er, eye? The peg in the middle of its face, if it were a thing. The ball went up and to the left and jostled around a lot. Once you get the left side cleared, head to the right. A lot of the rectangular pegs on the right set up nicely for an easy shot to re-direct into the cup on the left side of the screen, as long as you've cleared out the pegs on the bottom. Like I said, this was the toughest trial for me in this set. Keep going until you get it!
TRIAL 8, At Least It's an Ethos: Play smart with this one. I used Bjorn, because precision is your friend. ALWAYS AIM AWAY FROM PURPLE PEGS. They'll run your score up quickly. 175,000 points gives you a good deal of leeway, so you don't need to be perfect here. Try to knock out as many red pegs as possible without getting a green one. Once you reach a point where you're struggling to hit more reds, pick up a green and use Bjorn's ability to bounce shots to hit the red pegs you miss. Before you hit the last red peg, waste all your other balls! Either re-direct them off blue pegs to go quickly, or shoot into nothingness and lose coin flips until they're all gone. I wound up with like 84,000 points before the final cup bonus, so I had plenty of room to spare. This one's kind of weird, but not tough. Good luck.
TRIAL 9, The Circular Condition: It took me a few tries to figure out where to aim, and a few tries once I knew where to aim to get a few favorable bounces. You want to aim left with the boulder. Aim as though you're only going to hit the outer ring; the boulder will bounce back toward the center and take out some of the center ring, too. If you aim too far center, you'll have a tough (if not impossible) time with this. Here's how to tell if you aimed right. On my successful run, I got bonus points all the way up through green and purple and halfway up orange. Something like 120,000 points? I don't remember exactly. It doesn't matter the score. Once you have a great first shot, time the two rings (they travel at different speeds, or the same speed with less distance ... something about science) so that you take out more of both. Again, aim only at the outside ring, and let the boulder make its way back to the middle. On the third shot, clean up.
TRIAL 10, The Gorge: Again, I used Gnorman. (He's my favorite, and I think he's the best at trying to get rid of a lot of pegs of any color.) Use your first few shots to clear off some of the top row. Aim for the red or purple squares specifically. If you're lucky, once the ball goes down, it'll click around and hit a green or two. Use his ability to clear out a bunch of the shielded squares (even if its shield is still up, a peg will clear if it's hit with his ability) and get a bunch of points below. Play normally if you don't have another powerup. Or, if you do, try to bounce a ball between the two rows of shielded pegs. That'll rack up a ton of points and clear space for future shots. The points add up quickly here, and I didn't even need to get an end-game bonus to hit 500,000. There's some luck to getting green pegs at the right times, but good players using Gnorman should have no issue.
Good luck!

This is for completing all 10 trials from the second area named Mountain Highs. Here is the list of trials, with a video walkthrough by PS4Trophies Wozamil:
- Trial 1: You have 3 balls to clear all the pegs, the advise for this is to try and aim at the ones on the outside, to bounce inwards because if you aim directly down its likely it will ricochet far away from the pegs.
- Trial 2: Get one wrecking ball style shot, for this try and aim slightly off centre over a line of vertical pegs as the ball has a habit of not going directly down.
- Trial 3: Clear 40 pegs, this one you should do however you feel most comfortable.
- Trial 4: There is no aimer (so make sure you have your screen glasses on) and pick your favourite character.
- Trial 5: This requires 5 style shots to complete. The easiest ones to do are the wrecking ball style (which is using Jeff's super to destroy a line of pegs), long shot and free ball by bouncing the ball off the side of a peg and into the bucket.
- Trial 6: Get over 1,000,000 points. The easiest way to do this is to make sure you clear all the pegs and try to chain as many purples together as you can, while getting free bucket balls (so you keep your balls for the bonus at the end). If you're struggling, and don’t have many pegs left, if you just fire the Bowlder into the bucket without hitting any pegs at all you still get 10,000 style points for a spare pickup.
- Trial 7: Clear 45 orange pegs, we advise using a character with good peg clearance like Jeff or Gnorman.
- Trial 8: Score less than 175,000, for this just refer to the tips for trial 9 from Peggle Institute.
- Trial 9: This is where you need to clear the spinning orange pegs, we found it easiest to aim diagonally to the left so that the orange pegs spin into the bowlder to take out most of them at once, as this keeps the bowlder in the air.
- Trial 10: For this you need to get over 500,000 we found this easiest with Berg, because there are lots of green pegs, along with purple along the bottom which mean you can rack up big points by knocking them all into one another.
