How to unlock the Doomsday achievement in Pinball FX3 - Definitive Guide

As with all of these achievements, I recommend firstly playing the table enough to be used to keeping the ball in play and levelling up the ball-saver perk

The Fantastic Four-Ball mode is started in a simple way, but it can be a lengthy process

On the left of the table, near Mr Fantastic, are targets with the letter F A N

In the centre of the upper table near The Thing are targets with the letters T A S

On the right of the table near The Human Torch are target's with the letters T I C

Your first step is to light these nine lights. The order doesn't matter and once lit, can not be unlit. I am unsure as to whether the lights need relighting after a ballout. Some of these targets are a little awkward to hit, but a little bit of trial and error goes a long way. You may well activate them without really intending to

Once these are lit you need to hit the ball up to Count Doom on the upper left of the table three times. The FANTASTIC lights only need lighting once

Upon locking the fourth ball the mode will start and the achievement will unlock

This is also one of (if not the) highest scoring modes of the table if you're into that

This trophy is achieved by starting the Fantastic Four-ball multiball mode.

Step 1: Spell FAN-TAS-TIC
In order to get Dr. Doom to lock your balls, you’ll have to first spell out FAN-TAS-TIC. The FAN targets can be found above the left flipper lanes, the TAS targets are the 3 drop targets in front of The Thing’s sinkhole in the center of the table, and the TIC targets are located above the right flipper lanes. The “FAN” and “TIC” targets can be hit with very late flipper shots, but not without risk.

Tip: The lit targets can be swapped around by hitting the flipper bumpers. You can try and switch the difficult to hit “FAN” and “TIC” targets with the much easier “TAS” targets. But unfortunately, it’s not as easy as it sounds. The left bumper rotates the targets to the left, and the right bumper rotates them to the right. Meaning that if a ball is bouncing back and fort between the 2 bumpers, every hit nullifies the previous one.

Note: The Thing can sometimes give the random reward of the “lock is lit” light for this multiball as a random gift. To get this you need to score 40 bumper hits and hit his sinkhole to get a gift. If you get this random reward than you can skip Step 1

Step 2: Lock 4 Balls
After spelling FANTASTIC, you will be able to lock balls by shooting the SIGN ramp. Lock 4 to start the Fantastic Four-ball and to win the trophy.
