How to unlock the The Main Event achievement in Puzzle Quest 3 - Definitive Guide
Events have been completely reworked with update 3.3 and so this guide has been rewritten to match it.
Go to the "Battles" tab on the home page and choose "Events."
Here are three time based modes with unique buffs/debuffs in play, and they scale based on your level, up to Difficulty 5 (lv40). You get two tokens a day per event to play these. Damage received in an event is persistent, meaning armor/resistance will recharge on your next run, but health lost is permanent for that event (unless you can heal it). At level 50 you get the option to choose your difficulty from levels 40-120
For this achievement you simply need to kill a total of 10 enemies playing these.
+ The first option, Daily Guantlet, is probably your go to if you can make it through the full thing as you will fight 5 random enemies. Since you can play twice, you can get this in a single day now. There's a new one every day.
+ The second option, Dungeon Event, is a dungeon format so 3 enemies per run, but this lasts for 3 days and supports leaderboards.
+ The third option is the new Boss Rush mode which appears to be like the dungeons except offers higher rewards, seasonal enemies, and longer cooldowns to play again. This is only for level 50+ players and is considered end game content.
------
This is now a great mode to get rewards from. Aside from instantly opening chests (based on your scores/performances in battle), you earn different currency "marks" too, and the shop has been reworked to offer actually good stuff to buy with them now, so it is a mode worth playing if you plan on playing more of this game in the long run.

Make sure you have a good gear score
Could you elaborate on what a "good" gear score is?

Ideally if you are close enough to the gear score to be in green "normal" it will no problem.
In yellow "hard" it still not too hard.
But if it's in red "very hard" you'll have to make a judgment call based on how far really you are off. That's something you'll learn the more you play the game as to how far your skill lets you stretch. Hope that helps!

Go to the "Battles" tab on the home page and choose "Events."
These are daily bosses (or every 3 days) that get progressively harder the further into it you go and your health percentage carries over into the next boss (armors will reset to 100% though). There are also unique buffs/debuffs in play so be sure to read what they do!
You need to use tokens to enter a battle and you only get 2 per event per day. Therefore, don't waste your time trying this too early. Try to have a good gear score to defeat at least the first boss and you could farm the achievement that way. But as there are 2 events, each with their own tokens you have 4 plays per day. If you can kill both bosses in each event then that's 8/10 in a day, finish it tomorrow. If you wanna hold off on this, I was about an ilv of 1700-1800 when I could kill everything with full health for Dimond chests, but for achievement purposes you can still get boss kills a lot lower than that.
Point is, 10 kills is really nothing and isn't hard to get, but you'll need to level up a good bit if you want the best rewards from events, as they can be a good way to get recourses from chests without needing to spend keys.

Events unlock in the "Battle" menu once you hit Level 5. You will see Daily Siege and Event Dungeons which will last one or multiple days, respectively. You get two tokens per day for each type of event, and each token will enroll you in a fight against two enemies. If you've followed that math, you can fight up to 8 enemies per day in Events. Do this two days in a row to unlock the achievement (assuming you kill every enemy and do not fail the fights).
